Dana curry house in Eden

Got a set mael for two. Ordered Saturday 21st September at 16:48, delivered at 17:07 allthough when ordering instructions were 55 mins wait time for delivery. On delivery it was obvious that the food had been reheated, most probably left overs from the previous day. I'm far from happy as this is supposed to be the best Curry house in Penrith. Once bitten twice shy. I will not be ordering again, everything went in the bin.

Worst Indian takeaway I've had. We've given it a few chances now but has got worse each time, more like tasteless soup than curry. Time to find a new takeout in Penrith!

We all enjoyed our different curries, rice and nan breads. The paneer dishes were really tasty but it was grated cheddar not paneer. We would still go here again.

I’m an Indian and THIS IS NOT AN INDIAN RESTAURANT FOR SURE! Not even a single dish we ordered was good. Curries were too oily whereas rice and tikkas were extremely dry. On top of that they don’t take card payments. Worst food I’ve ever had and definitely NOT Indian!!

Beware, it's NOT an Indian restaurant even though they claim it to be. In fact, it's not even close. Food is oily. Though we ordered 2 different Biryani dishes, they both tasted the same. Would never recommend it to anyone.

I have never seen a dish swimming in so much oil in all my life! The butter chicken sauce looked like milk. The chicken I suspect is not fresh and heated up as it was dry and like rubber. Never ever again!

Got to be the worst Indian I’ve had in the 40 years I’ve been alive. Ordered at 6.50pm, it arrived at 9.30pm. One half hour late. Ordered 2 mains, ordered tikka masala, it was like spicy soup, Nan breads you could throw through at a brick wall. Rice that you could load into a pistol and take out world war 3. Poppadoms that you could use as a frisby or wheels for your car. After ringing they basically told me F off. So here I am telling you to avoid this monstrosity of what they called “ Indian food “ … better microwave curries in Morrisons.

We ordered for delivery to center parcs over the weekend. All our food arrived on time and still piping hot after a 10 minute walk to our lodge. The food was delicious. Will definitely order again when we are back next year. Thank you ☺️

Had a delivery to centerparcs which was over an hour late. Phoned on two occasions and they didn't or couldn't find our online order. Food that was an hour late was delivered stone cold, we had to reheat the microwave. Had the chicken tikka balti and 50% of the chicken was inedible with added human hair for extra taste. Chicken tikka Jalfrezi was a bit bland but ok. Naan breads where put I the bin quite possibly the worst naan breads I've ever eaten. Phoned for a third time for a refund and quite literally got the middle finger. One of the worst curries I've ever had and will never be returning. Asked for the curries to be made without ghee and both come swimming in the stuff far to greasy. We're that disgruntled I'm opening up a dispute with PayPal with whom we paid through to see if we can get out money back. Hope the bin enjoyed our food!

We’re from Manchester - we know good curry! This curry house is superb. We had chicken tikka and lamb bhuna with pilau rice and keema nice and keema naan it was spot on. Popodums and dips were delish. Be warned they only take cash or prepayment not card payment! Would defo go back

Our first India takeaway for years, what a treat. Everything we had was first class. I would like to single out the Pashwari Naan, had a light texture with a hint of lemon.

I live near Penrith but grew up near Bradford, the curry capital of the UK There are quite a few places nearby in Penrith that do okay curries, but I think my favourite takeout place is Dana. All the food I’ve had from there has been tasty, a really good level of spice (not silly hot, but having a little bit of a kick) and they deliver locally and seem helpful and happy when I go in. It always smells absolutely gorgeous when I walk past as well and makes me want another meal from there.

Had an excellent take away delivered last night , 4 meals all different for 4 people all meals spot on 🍛 And delivered bang on time!

1. Poor staff attitude, rude and tricky. 2. Menu display price is different when I ordered, reason gave price increase and menu not yet updated. 3. I order extra dish , and they didn't give the dish when I eating my meal, and I return to the restaurant and silly reason given by the staff is they mix dish 2 in 1 and packed in one food container. What a joke 4. This restaurant like a scammer who trick the tourist, especially foreigners. Beware. I looking someone to help me to give advice so that I can report this issue to the local authority.

Fantastic food! We ordered a takeaway to get delivered to Whinfell Forest Center Parcs, the food arrived quickly with the delivery driver meeting us at the gates. Highly recommended for anyone staying at Center Parcs as the food was delicious and very reasonably priced

Live in Penrith, first time to this takeaway, met by a rude person who had more important things to do that greet a potential customer. Told me could only order online to pay with Debit Card, why would I want to come in to the shop and then have to order online, found his attitude, rude and as far as I'm concerned, stick your take away up your ***

Food was delicious when it arrived, but the estimated delivery time on food hub was 75 minutes, so when it still hadn’t arrived after a further 30 minutes we were very disappointed. Food arrived around 2 hours after the point of ordering which is just far too long!

Awful - worse curry in twenty years. Ordered take away for the family. Butter chicken and passanda arrived and were exactly the same. Tough chicken and wierd disgusting pale sauce. Inedible. By far the worst curry I have ever had. Go to the Raj or India Plaza if you want good food.

Staying at center parc, ordered a take away from Dana after going off the reviews. Had 3 different mains each one very nice can't fault any of them, glad I chose this place, easy to order also being where we are.

Absolutely rank, took it back and was responded with no management until tomorrow, raw prawns, pink chicken, soggy rice, greasy naan bread, worst takeaway we have ever had! Avoid!

Placed a reasonably sizeable order 30 April for ourselves and guests we had arriving, including 2 x Chicken Tikka Masala. We live 9 miles/20 mins away from the takeaway, picked it up 6 pm got home and opened it up (our guests were now sitting at the table!) to find we'd only been given 1 Tikka masala. No time to sort out with Dana at that point we divi'd up the food we had got. Contacted Dana the next day, and spoke to two drivers, the owners refuse to deal with customers! Questioned as to why I didn't complain at the time so they 'could put it right' and explained that that would have meant either all the food going cold or one guest sitting there with nothing for half an hour at least. Asked for a refund to be told that this 'isn't Dana's policy, next time you order we'll add it to the order'

We were camping in ullswater in our campervan and fancied a takeaway on a cold evening. After reading reviews we settled on Dana’s. We weren't disappointed. The food was really good. One of the best Indian takeaways we’ve ever had (we’ve tried a few!). Would definitely recommend. Just wish they were closer to our home!

Unfortunately there is too much salt being used. Food here has been very good, but a biryani and madras sauce had too much salt in it. This can be easily addressed and hopefully will be as Dana deserves to thrive.

In my experience this is one of the best Indian takeaways I've known, always really tasty, fresh ingredients and great value despite a recent small price rise. I live 7 miles away, and collect within 30 minutes of ordering. Vegetable dishes are especially good. Stuff from the tandoor is amazing, well marinated and well basted. Curries are never swimming in ghee. Never had a bad one! Thanks! Mark

Yummy takeaway that we had in our holiday cottage. The Tarka Dhal was delicious, as was the King Prawn Rogan Josh and great garlic naan. Knocking a star off for the chicken tikka starter which was tasty but not quite what we were expecting. Would deffo recommend and will be back!

Delicious curry. We were ordering for 6 of us and used the online order facility for collection. It's a little slow but we got there and received a 25 minute countdown until our order was ready. Slight issue in that we ended up waiting 55mins rather than the 25 mins instructed, but the food was really tasty and enjoyed by all.

Delicious meal from Dana again last night. Chicken tikka massala was really tasty and flavoursome and I enjoyed the yoghurt and all accompanied sauces and poppadoms. Lovely 😁. Thank you Dana. Oh also very prompt phone call endured we had our takeaway within half an hour! 👍

Just what we needed after a day of walking around the Lakes. Ready when we got there to collect even though 5mins early. Went to Morrisons to pick up a few bits first to take back to campsite (drinks & picnic food) and parked for free in big carpark there. We ordered before going in-store and food was ready and waiting when we walked by half an hour later. Huge portions and super tasty! Especially the vegetable rice and lamb bhuna. We ordered via JustEat and paid £25.55 for 2 main meals, plus samosas and 3 popadoms with sauces. All delicious! and could easily have served 4 persons! Still piping hot by the time we got back to our campsite too, even though a 15 minute drive away. Great job thanks guys :-)

Really good meal, our friend said it was the best she'd had since she moved to Cumbria. The mushroom rice was excellent, good portion size, not oily, good quality meat (no gristly bits). Meal for two plus king prawn jalfrezi and mushroom rice was plenty for three. Vry quick service even on Friday night.

Extremely poor food, stale poppadoms, they missed the garlic naan off our order that we payed for and when entering the shop there was a pan of food on the floor being served to customers.. very poor hygiene, wouldn't recommend.

Just after 1500 hrs on New Years Eve I received a text from this curry house inviting me to order early I thought that sounded a good idea and so placed my order and paid online to be collected at 1855 hrs I arrived on time to collect it to be told it wasn’t ready. 15 mins later I asked what was happening they were busy they said and because another customer waiting outside had been waiting 1 hour i asked for my money back and they refused to give it me saying I had paid by card and that is how it had to be refunded and that because they had not yet received it they couldn’t refund it. Some 40 minutes after my collection time my order was ready. When I got it home my main course was a disappointment. The chicken pasanda was very poor. The sauce was non existent and what bit there was had separated. The coconut rice was like eating sawdust it was very dry. Needless to say I will not be going back.

We ordered via phone and collected our food half an hour later. My chicken tikka massala was delicious and the accompanying dips and poppadoms were very nice. My friend had lamb madras with vegetable rice which he said was good but very spicy.... A good choice if you like hot 🔥 food! Overall, we were very happy with the food and will definitely be returning. ❤️❤️

Order was wrong TWICE. Had to go back as some of order was missing. When we arrived home MORE food was missing. How can staff get an order wrong twice is beyond me. Then when we phoned back staff said they don't do refunds, even though food was missing. We eventually got our money back after a STRUGGLE. We are on holiday, we should not have to spend time trying to get refunds from a badly ran restaurant. What a total inconvenience. Food was average and service was below POOR. I WOULD AVOID.

Lovely curries, subtle but beautifully flavoured onion Baji, and everything else cooked to perfection too. Felt fresh and was very tasty and hot.

Since a major operation we've just started to eat takeaways recently. This places food has improved massively since pre op ie. Xmas time when food was sometimes inedible. Well done!!!!!

Comí varios curry de Dana durante los últimos meses y disfruté de cada uno. La comida siempre está muy caliente y muy sabrosa. Recomiendo encarecidamente el Ceilán y el Murgh Massala, ¡delicioso! ! El único inconveniente es que después de haberlo recogido, hemos encontrado artículos que faltaban cuando llegamos a casa, por lo que siempre lo comprobamos ahora antes de irnos, pero aparte de eso, lo recomiendo ampliamente.

No habiendo comido un curry durante varios meses, le dimos una oportunidad a Dana. Hace unos meses, la comida era bastante terrible, pero esta vez fue excelente. Gran servicio de entrega aunque un poco caro en comparación con otros y la comida era excelente. No sé si los chefs cambiaron, pero definitivamente están de vuelta en mi escena de entrega.

Already tipped a load of grease down the sink and it's still swimming in it! This place used to be good but the past 2 months, the standards have dropped! Sick of wasting money on this inedible greasy mess! It hasn't posted the photo which I have added for some unknown reason?!

What a real shame, we used to really like this place but unfortunately, any time we've ordered lately, the dishes are just so full of oil. We have had to throw the past 2 orders away now. The nan breads are either burnt or taste of dough from being undercooked. We stuck it out with you hoping it was just a temporary glitch but 3 months on, sadly nothing has improved. We won't be back as having to throw 2/4 - 4/4 meals in the bin, just isn't viable or acceptable from any food establishment when you're paying good money and sometimes delivery charges too... Very disappointed!

I’ve been ordering here for the last few weeks due to lock down. Everything I’ve had has been excellent and delivered piping hot! I’d recommend the Chicken Rezella, Achari dishes....in fact anything really!

Just had an amazing jalfrezi this evening. My girls also enjoyed their korma. Food arrived piping hot and 20 mins earlier than expected. Far better experience than the Indian Plaza!!! Will be using Dana from now on, suggest you do the same.

We ordered a curry on behalf of a disabled adult who can’t leave her home. The total of curry and rice came to £8.90 and they happily took the order and said no problems. We have ordered from them plenty of times before as one of few places who deliver (£2 charge). Arrived within 40mins (on a Sat night) , only for the extremely rude delivery driver to wave the receipt saying “it’s not good business practice and not worth our while to deliver for under £10” he kept pointing saying “not £10! Not £10!” Our staff member replied saying “it’s not my money I need the change and receipt” he begrudgingly handed this over. Will be going elsewhere in future.

Ordered two meals for Saturday night tea. Delivery took over an hour and also cost me the princely some of £5.50. My wife never alters her order King Prawn Dhansak. This offering was inedible for some reason and binned. Mine, Chicken Jalfrezi was fine though I needed to microwave it as it was cold. Meals are in my opinion getting poorer and poorer from here. Will not be using place again. £24.85 for two curries and rice and one nan bread delivered seems at the top end.

Food arrived with missing items veg curry and poppadoms when I phoned up was told too busy to deliver them. Then found out it all was cold and greasy. This takeaways standards have dropped and customer care non existent. They Just want your money!! would avoid if I were you.

Hi we ordered food tonight, it took over an hour to arrive and when it did it was short so I phoned and was told it would be there in 5 minutes. It wasn’t so I called after waiting another 15 minutes to be told he was on his way. I then called back after another 15 minutes to ask for a refund as we were done waiting. The food that did arrive was of such a poor standard. The butter chicken might as well be called pink coconut grease slime. It was disgusting! you owe me for the short delivery and I’ll let you know on the cost of my sickness that no doubt your rotten food will give me!!! Yak

Greasy horrible food. Worst Indian iv ever had. Slow delivery mid week, and have the cheek to charge you to order online, then delivery is expensive too.

la comida en general es buena pero a nuestro último pedido le faltaban artículos y no nos dimos cuenta hasta que llegamos a casa. los contacté al día siguiente, pero solo ofrecerían agregar los artículos faltantes a nuestro próximo pedido. Rechacé y solicité que me devolvieran el dinero, ya que los artículos habían sido para un invitado mío, no para mí, y por lo tanto no me sirvieron. He sido ignorado desde entonces y nadie responderá.pésimo servicio de atención posterior ya que estoy fuera de su bolsillo por los artículos y me siento muy molesto por su actitud.

No es el peor curry que he tenido en Penrith, pero ciertamente. No es el mejor tampoco. Tuve el pollo al ajo y tenía un sabor inusual, tal vez así es como debería saber, pero no fue de mi agrado. Las raciones eran generosas y el precio parecía un poco alto para una comida para llevar. Quizás si vuelvo probaré un plato diferente. Así que, en general, mi comida era normal.

I really like the food and service from here. Reliably tasty. Just occasionally there can be a misunderstanding with the order, but they are very keen to put it right.

We ordered Jalfrezi and Butter chicken with some naans. Jalfrezi was more like Vindaloo as it was very very hot but still alright. But the Butter chicken had so much coconut in it that it was like eating Ferrero Raffaello, it was super sweet and was simply not very nice at all. Unfortunately the naans were also sweet. Really not sure what happened that day in their kitchen but we were disappointed.

Had takeaway delivered to Centre Parcs, would definitely recommend this place. Food was delish! Ordered online in advance and the food was delivered with 10mins of the agreed time and even got the courtesy call I requested so I knew when to leave my villa! All the dishes were great, especially the mixed kebab starter and the tikka masala.

Penrith has several takeaway this one is amongst the best, quick service and home delivery if you wish.

Linked to Raj in town this takeaway has to be the best around. The prices are incredible, especially considering the quality of the food. The service is always friendly and fast, even when getting home delivery. Never had a complaint with this spot, definitely a solid favourite 👍

Last nights offering was poor to say the least. Lamb rogan josh was grim. I think there was 6 small pieces of lamb all told. Sauce was like gravy. Normally food is good so will get another chance. If no better. Bye bye

Íbamos a realizar un pedido por teléfono, pero el sitio web decía que había un 10% de descuento en los pedidos en línea. Hicimos clic en el enlace y ordenamos nuestras opciones, ¡pero el 10% no fue descontado y nos cobraron 40 p por hacerlo! ! !

Tuve que poner una reseña aquí después de leer algunas indiferentes. Usamos esta casa de curry regularmente y encontramos la comida, el servicio y el personal excelentes. Ha habido una o dos comidas a lo largo de los años que fueron mediocres, pero cuando me he quejado conseguí que el precio se cayera en la próxima comida. No hago curry caliente, pero los chefs saben ahora el calor que me gusta. La entrega es buena también. Vivimos un par de millas fuera de la ciudad.

Ordered 4 mains, 2 rice and 2 naans online. Advised it would be 50 mins to be delivered which is fine. 1hr 30mins later the food arrived but it had a meal missing. Tried phoning numerous times but got no answer. We finished our food and About 20 mins later they eventually answered. We asked for a refund for the meal that we didn’t receive only to be told that it’s their ‘policy’ not to give refunds! Never heard of this in my life. We were offered a credit for the next time we go but I won’t be going back. In the end we had to settle for having the meal the delivered as they were adamant they wouldn’t refund us. Very poor service and the food was average!

Very good service and food, large portions are served. The taste is excellent with the right amount of spice, I could not find any fault with my meal. This is now our takeaway of choice, will be back again and again.
