Everything was 10/10 from food to service. Would highly recommend.

My new best breakfast in Derby. Beautifully cooked, great ingredients, super friendly service and lovely place. The rest of the day menu also looked well worth a repeat visit. What a find!

Lovely cafe with a relatively limited menu.m and has been done up nicely. Visited mid week so wasn’t very busy. The service to order was okay, food and drinks came quick but once we had finished we were sat with empty plates for a good 15-20 minutes. If it was busy I would understand the wait, however the staff were busy behind the counter and were not prioritising the customers. All of the only 3 tables that were occupied had to wait. I eventually had to get up and ask myself for them to be cleared. Just a shame. Would return if I was going back to that area but wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

We try to get down here at least once a week to show our support for this wonderful addition to the village and its hard working, welcoming and friendly staff. It is best to book but if they can they will always try to find room to fit customers in, either inside or out on the terrace area.

I have frequented this coffee house many times and have always found the staff friendly and the food always nice but unfortunately today had a very poor experience. Despite lots of tables being vacant I felt we were rushed and hurried along once we had finished. My friend put her grandsons pushchair near a staff only door as he had fallen asleep and the male member of staff was rather abrupt when expressing he needed to get through it. His attitude was quite unnecessary and not accommodating at all. If we hadn't have ordered we would have left at this point. I don't usually bother leaving feedback whether it be positive or negative but I will in future be choosing another venue as we were made to feel rather unwelcome and as a customer I shouldn't be made to feel an inconvenience.

What a find, sadly not able to go more than once as only staying in area for 2 nights. Exceptionally clean, lovely staff and food good too. Lovely coffees.

Lovely staff, very friendly and welcoming. Hadn't booked and they still made room for us. Looks really pretty inside. We had breakfast, and every bit was cooked perfectly. Definitely coming again!

An excellent find in Breadsall Village. It was my first visit and I was delighted by every aspect - the ambience, the service, friendliness of the staff. I only had tea and a cake but they were well presented and the cherry and almond cake was delicious. I will definitely be back when I am next in the area

I ordered a honey chicken and chorizo salad. All ingredients were fresh and the salad was beautifully presented. The space has an attractive, contemporary, visual vibe. For me, it was distractingly noisy because there are limited soft surfaces to absorb sound. I can recommend Damsons for good service and quality food at a reasonable price.

I despise bad publicity but this is definitely called for. We made a detour to visit this quaint area of Derby, but we were not made to feel welcome at all, in fact, made to feel like a hindrance. There were several empty tables and one reserved at the time. Benefit of the doubt given.... We sat and we waited. In the end, we had to ask for a menu and the response given was, 'easy tiger!' In what context, I'll never know and do not wish to. If I wasn't polite I would have made a scene. Advice: Visitors: if you are not adorned in Gucci or like the colour grey then don't bother. However, looks are deceiving! Business: Those you may think don't fit your facade are those you should be welcoming open arms and cherishing. Delicious food and nice drinks, but the service was terrible I'm afraid.

Was a little sceptical reading all the glowing reviews but this place is amazing !! Beautifully decorated throughout and extremely clean. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Had their full English breakfast with fresh orange juice and it was soon on the table lovely and warm well presented and delicious. We WILL be back 😃

A family run business, with amazing service food quality and atmosphere. Food and drinks are absolutely worth trying. The owner Fab and his wife Vanessa, with all the staff bring great charisma. Highly recommend

No matter what you visit for, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or just a drink/cake you always get a very warm and friendly greeting from all the staff. There is a good selection of items on the menu which would cater for most people with food that looks good and tastes delicious, give it a go I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Four of us attended for lunch on Friday (4/8/23). The welcome was good and staff very pleasant. The menu was very limited especially for vegetarian's. The bottles of wine list was limited to one bottle 'Pinot Grigio'. If you didn't like that then it was hard luck - no other choice - except small individual bottles at £6.95 each. I find it hard to believe that there was only one bottle to choose from - this needs to be addressed. The meals were ordered and delivered fairly quickly and in this respect the service was very good. The restaurant/coffee house was spotlessly clean as were the toilets. Attention by staff to customers was also very good. We found that it was very noisy and when speaking voices had to be raised to hear each other. There was no problem with space between each table which was good. All in all it was good but it needs more choice of bottles of wine and a better menu especially for vegetarian's. Personally we found it to be a bit expensive. For people attending that have mobility problems will find it difficult to park and walk the distance to the premises.

We will definitely be returning to this wonderful coffee house. Set in lovely surroundings the staff were welcoming and very friendly. They happily accommodated us even though we hadn’t booked. The choice of menu was amazing and the food we had tasted as delicious as it looked. Thank you all for a really wonderful experience. We have both decided this will be a regular stop for us both now.

Once again it was a fantastic lunch at Damsons. Been 3 times now, and every time is been great. The food, the welcome, the service and the laughs. It’s a pleasure to return. Took my nearly 3 year old grandson with us and even though he for once was being a bit of a nightmare it was no problem. The food is fresh, delicious, reasonable in price and always arrives piping hot. Cannot fault the place.

Enjoyed our second visit to Damsons . The full breakfast was very good and the service from Stef was excellent, very attentive and helpful. Good customer care from all the staff. Worth travelling from Nottingham!

Came here with my Dad to have a new year's eve breakfast, the staff are beyond accommodating and friendly and the food was lovely, nothing is too much and you are made to feel very welcome. It was very busy which speaks volumes. I will 100% come again.

Came for new years day breakfast, the food never ever disappoints and is delivered hot amd quickly, the staff are beyond lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We had one full English breakfast and one Eggs Benedict I cannot fault any of the food thar came out, all cooked to perfection.

Damsons coffee house is incredible, the staff are lovely people, and may I add very humorous. The food is excellent and very well presented, and there is a general cosy environment and joyful atmosphere.

Damsons never lets you down, no matter what time of day that you visit it is always spotlessly clean and tidy. Staff are always upbeat and happy and provide an excellent service to all their customers, cake selection is not that shabby either.

Having visited a couple of times before, I wanted to leave a review after popping for lunch today with my family. The service is always friendly, food is fresh and full of flavour and the team are always cleaning - even when it’s really busy, I noticed they never compromised on ensuring that each time a table was cleared it was cleaned and put straight before the next guests, you don’t get that kind of attention to detail in coffee shop chains and for me it really makes a difference. Good coffee and worth leaving room for a cake from the counter - we took ours home in a takeaway box today because they were too good to miss! Overall it’s just really consistent in terms of food quality, service and cleanliness. Will definitely be back again soon!

Fantastic little place. Very clean and cosy. The service was excellent and very attentive. The coffee was absolutely fantastic as was the food. We will definitely be back. The only down side was parking. There is no car park and it is on street parking.

This place deserves a top review, the breakfast has to be the best in derby I don't think any other cafe could try put it to the test my second favourite would be the base but Damsons cooks there sausage and bacon correctly down to a tee just the way I like it and my girlfriends eggs are always poached perfect and runny and the coffee is probably the best tasting coffee you can get in Derby the staff are super friendly and funny and it's in a perfect little village area,, we must of been to 80% of derbys cafes and promise you this is the best and there lunch chicken posh kebab is also banging.

Enjoyed a really nice and substantial meal off their lunch menu. My wife had their "posh kebab" (chicken in a home-made crispy coating in a naan with salad and red cabbage something or other and sweet chilli sauce) and I had their "smash burger" (a clearly home made pattie with American cheese and usual salad/pickle and chef's own "bacon jam"!!). The portions were excellent and the fries were really nicely seasoned with salt and... I dunno... something green. The features were delicious. The "bacon jam" was right up my street but was perhaps so sweet as to not suit all tastes. I'd go back for more. Coffees were delicious and washed down the cake (white chocolate and raspberry and an almond and cherry slice) nicely, even though they were so light and moist as to not need washing down. Staff were really chatty and happy, including the owner who is proud of his Italian heritage. Would recommend and will be back again!

Called in midway through our Chaddesden to Little Eaton walk for a much needed coffee. Excellent, really well decorated with a contemporary, clean and airy feel and a really nice outside area.... unfortunately it chucked it down the minute we sat down. Coffee was excellent, smooth, decent strength and moderately bitter, the cakes we ate were superb, we didn't eat anything else; however, it looked amazing...I was seriously tempted. Everyone was really polite and friendly and the place was immaculately clean. Highly recommended.

Damsons is a fabulous addition to the village and the front of house service from Vanessa, Fab and of course Steph is first class. I called in for a quick drink and piece of cake and as always you get a very warm and friendly...

Light and airy cafe. We enjoyed the tea and cake we had and the lunch menu looked good. The staff were very efficient and we were impressed at the amount of cleaning being done.

On a wet and miserable afternoon we arrived late in the day to a warm welcome. The cake selection was limited as it was late but I can't fault the millionaire's shortbread and chocolate cake. Loved the decor and I loved the matching crockery too....

This cafe is busy for a reason. Its quite simply excellent. Lovely coffee, lovely people serving you, and very tasteful surroundings. Can't wait to visit in spring when we'll be able to sit outside.
