DAMO Food & Coffee in Trafford

A great Italian restaurant. The fresh pasta served is second to none! Extremely tasty and this has to be the best pasta in South Manchester. We were served by Adam who was charming and very knowledgeable.

This was our first visit, we'd chosen Damo as we love Italian food, and as a couple who live in Altrincham, we do like to try different restaurants. The staff were so welcoming, and we were quickly taken to our table. The restaurant was busy, but there were plenty of staff who ensured there were no delays in taking orders and bringing our food. The food was delicious, and after having starters, we struggled to finish our main course, which was a pity as the desserts looked so tempting. We will definitely be back and make sure that next time, we leave room for dessert.

Great food, short menu but quality pasta and great flavours. Garlic bread was a little small for the price (£8) but possibly the best I've had.

My family booked a meal here for some friends and family to get together. I cannot fault the evening in any way what so ever, the food was beautiful the atmosphere was amazing and the service was bang on. Omar was amazing constantly keeping our wine topped up and his recommendations didn’t let us down. Best meal I’ve had in a long time I will 100% recommend and will definitely be back.

This was our second time coming after we absolutely loved it the first time, we had the best time again! The food is perfect and so fresh and tasty, everything is delicious and made with care and thought, the staff are lovely and this place has become my favourite! We will be returning again and again!

We were fortunate to be included on the guest list for Damo’s 1 year anniversary and so pleased we went along. There was a great atmosphere and there was plenty of food on offer. It was served as Italian buffet style and tasty it was too. We are so pleased for the team as they have worked hard to create this fabulous local independent authentic Italian eatery. Spent a fabulous birthday evening with friends last night. The food was really excellent and the service was wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. It was also excellent value. We will be returning

Visited here with another couple and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. A small and select menu absolutely superb aranchi balls to start. Authentic pasta dishes we all had something different and could have had another portion of each it was that good. Reasonable and robust wine list. Service was superb and attentive . Absolutely faultless evening out .

What a find!! Without doubt the best pasta I’ve tasted. Excellent menu, really friendly staff including the kitchen staff, who we spoke to due to the open kitchen. Would strongly recommend.

We’ve been three times now for dinner in the evening. The menu is great, but the daily specials are often even better. Sensibly priced and good wine. The staff are friendly, and it makes a difference when you can see that it is someone’s business, and they care. Well worth a visit.

This was our first visit to Damo after repeated recommendations from family and I wished I had t left it as long. It’s a fairly small place but very nicely set out and if you are booking ask for table upstairs as opposed to in basement. Whilst it didn’t spoil our evening at all I just think the vibe / feel & look of the main area (based on whisky I was stood at the bar waiting g to be seated) was a little better. When we were sat down a large table had just left and we were the only diners but almost immediately the tables adjacent filled up which helped, albeit some of the diners on the adjacent table had a laugh so loud it could have awoken someone sleeping g in nearby Hale Barns! We initially booked for 7pm and the restaurant contacted me the day before asking if we would kindly push our time back 30 mins due to a large booking ahead of us. It wasn’t an issue but I felt it was a great sign that they would go to this trouble ahead of the evening as opposed to having us just turn up and wait, great communication and again a good sign ahead of our night out. We arrived and had to stand at the bar for a max of 5 mins or so but again they gave us a round of drink on the house for mailing g us wait. The place was b busy and had a lovely atmosphere. The staff overall were extremely polite, informative and passionate about their restaurant helping us decide on which dishes to choose, it being our inaugural visit. The menu itself differs from most ‘standard’ Italians dishing up dried pasta run of the mill sauces and pizzas. It may be shorter than most as well but for me that’s always a positive as you know it’s all cooked fresh and with love and passion. This was evident based on our experience and all dishes were superb. Sadly I cannot remember the Italian names of some of the dishes but we enjoyed bruschetta (nothing like the norm and superb! Best I’ve ever eaten) rice balls with a truffle n honey sauce decorated beautifully with flower petals (see pic) home made focaccia (on the house, as opposed to many places that charge for bread) hand made prawn gnocchi and a vegetarian tomato, bean and chilli pasta again all freshly hand made. We washed all this down with a first rate crisp dry rose and lashings of tap and fizzy water. Total bill with tip came to a fraction over £100.00 for 3 of us which I felt was excellent value based on the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs compared as I say to a ‘standard’ Italian. They even knocked an extra 5% for our short wait for the table and a round of free lemon cellos to finish. Well done the Damo team we will be retuning to sample the other dishes I think we just found our new favourite local Italian.

Went with my husband for Saturday breakfast. I had baked eggs and he had scrambled eggs in a croissant. Was mouthwatering! We couldn’t decide who had chosen better. Both were so tasty and cooked immaculately. Enjoyed so much we booked for valentines dinner this week. Can’t wait to try the pasta. Such lovely people, great place :-) BRAVA 👏👏👏

This restaurant is an absolute gem. The food is deliciously fresh and perfectly seasoned. The service is knowledgeable and friendly. They treat you as almost part of their family. A hugely welcome addition to Altrincham.

Came in the afternoon for brunch. I had a Tiramisu French toast; it was one of the best tastes I've had in years. I totally recommend it with a cappuccino to fulfill the Italian taste. The staff was friendly; we had a little chat about Italy and how they began opening the business—a touching story. They bring all their ingredients straight from their homeland. Good luck, guys. One of my new favorite places to go to in Manchester. Definitely, I will be back soon.

I absolutely lovely this restaurant! Staff were so friendly (including the owners) and the food is amazing. Even the clientele were nice! Keep up the hospitality Damo.

Such a lovely experience and authentic food. The tiramisu, probably one of the best we’ve ever had. The brothers were attentive and looks after us so well. We have been here for breakfast and that was fantastic.

A fabulous restaurant, wonderfully friendly staff, a great atmosphere and fantastic food. The menu is small but this means they do things really well. Would highly recommend!

Really enjoyed the food, it was authentic and fresh. Pasta was incredible, I can’t remember the last time I tasted hand made pasta like this outside of Italy. Staff were friendly and attentive. My only small negative is my partner is allergic to nuts, so many of the main course options he wasn’t able to have. Since it’s a small menu, his options were really limited. Nonetheless, we had a great time and will recommend the place to our friends and family.

Food was amazing! All really fresh and good portion size. Staff were really friendly too, offering us extra bread for the left over sauce. Really nice atmosphere and will definitely be returning soon.

Before going to the cinema we headed for a table in Damo. As we sat down, the staff were so welcoming and friendly. We looked over the menu and it seemed a little fancier than we were used to. The man serving gave us some suggestions and recommendations and WOW I am so glad he did. The rice balls were unbelievable and the lasagne! The food was unbelievable & I felt like I was in food heaven! There was some music in the background which was nice and created a good ambiance. Thank you so much to chef & staff we will definitely be back again!

Absolutely first class. The food and flavours were some of the best we’ve had locally. We’ve visited day time for breakfast and in the evening and really impressed both times.

Popped in one Sunday morning for coffee/brunch. Great coffee and delicious food - we had the Tiramisu on French Toast and one of the artisan croissants; all beautifully presented. A really pleasant and welcoming place, with a lovely atmosphere - give it a try !

The best Italian food I have eaten outside of Italy. Absolutely fabulous. The freshness of the food of the food is outstanding and the care and attention is impeccable.

Lovely atmosphere, amazing coffee, the best scrambled eggs we’ve ever had! Look forward to going back and trying their fresh pasta. New favourite for us I think :)
