Lovely pasta meal - great atmosphere

Very welcoming and top quality food & drinks. We were with our 5 month old baby and dog. It’s a great vibe with such a variety of customers and people we met. The staff were very helpful with picking the best things on the menu. We had a lovely lunch, some of the best Italian authentic food we have eaten in Manchester.

My wife and I had our anniversary meal here, and we absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, kids in the play area having fun, which is always great to see. The food was superb, could not say a single bad thing about it, the staff were all so friendly and polite.

Where to start! This place is amazing! We are here for the first time today and didn't want to leave. The staff and owners are lovely, took time to sit with us and talk about their family. The food was soooo nice, best I've tasted anywhere. For me it beats another home grown Italian restaurant in Altrincham 😃

As soon as you step into Bar Etna you are welcomed into a truly warm Sicilian ambience by staff. The choice of Sicilian cuisine on the menu is both authentic and delicious. The parmigiana and pasta al pistacchio are two of my favourite dishes. I cannot recommend Bar Etna enough if you fancy a ‘taste of Sicily’

Such an authentic family run cafe. The coffee is amazing as are the staff. Very child friendly with a child play are, high chairs and children's menu. It also has the added bonus of being well behaved dog friendly. J

Bar Etna is such a wonderful haven on food, drink and smiles. As two new parents we thought the chance of going out for something nice at lunch with a little one was no longer possible. But bar Etna manages to provide environment whereby our little one loves playing with the toys that are provided whilst we indulge in fantastic authentic cuisine and drink. This place is amazing. Fantastic value, the warmest welcome and delicious food and wine. Amazing lasagne and a really delicious meat and cheese platter which if you pair with the equally delicious caponata, makes for a fab late Sunday lunch - with a bottle or red ofc!

The food options were very limited and the quality was subpar. My meal was cold and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while.

I recently visited Bar Etna in Altrincham with my friend R., and it was an absolutely delightful experience! I enjoyed a refreshing Goji tea and a delicious raviola, a typical ricotta sweet that was simply divine for breakfast (I suggest sicilian cannoly as well). Chiara, the owner, was incredibly charming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I particularly loved how family-friendly the place is—great for kids too! I highly recommend Bar Etna for a cosy and welcoming breakfast spot. But as well lunch for sandwiches and dinn and dinner. I also just discovered they may do catering as well for celebrations! Will definitely be returning soon!Thank you, Chiara and team, for a wonderful start to our day!

I'm from Sicily and it was a pleasure to find the owners are from there too. This place will give you an actual authentic Italian experience, it's not a cheap imitation: they have products imported from Sicily as well as the atmosphere and hospitality you could find in Italy. Truly a place I can feel like home.

We ate here last night for a family celebration. We all ordered something different and every morsel was delicious. My Pasta Bosco was the best thing I have eaten in a long while. The Sicilian wine was beautiful as was the Messini beer. We will definitely be returning.

I visited this restaurant and will not be coming back. The staff was very rude and disrespectful and the food was not upto the correct standards and definitely not 5 stars. There was a hair in my food and was also very cold and sloppy. Don’t recommend this restaurant.

The focus is clearly on the food rather than the decor - as it should be. All 4 of us ordered different main courses and each was delightful. Lovely, well priced wine and desserts that were talked about all the way home. Absolutely packed out on a Wednesday night which I think speaks volumes.

A lovely hidden little gem. A family run Italian with fantastic food. I had the Insalata caprese followed by the lasagne. My husband had the meatballs followed by tagliatelle Etna. All very tasty. Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Looks like it would be very family friendly, should you be out with kids

Best Italian food in Manchester! Really authentic and perfect atmosphere

Food was good & very tasty. Lasagne was good. Herby potatoes were good. The special was lamb filled pasta very tasty but very little of it, which was disappointing.

A delightful restaurant with wonderful food. The service was prompt and very pleasant. Our waitress was extremely attentive and accommodating. We ordered a cheese platter, which was a bit simple, but it satisfied us nonetheless. For the main course, I had the pasta with nduja, and it was superb. For dessert, I opted for the tiramisu, which was magical. Light and flavorful.

My partner and I went here on a whim for date night, as I only work around the corner. First things first, service was lightning quick. Our waitress, Lauren, is the most enthusiastic and heartwarming lady I’ve ever met. She lit up our night. The food, served by Nino, was delicious! To me, it was insanely reminiscent of the food I had when travelling in Italy. Portions are perfectly sized and desserts are just the perfect addition on top. Would definitely recommend. Amazing service, delicious food, cozy family environment, and didn’t break the bank!

A pleasant Italian restaurant served by friendly Italian! Food are authentic, we had lasagne and pasta. Our kid had a pizza with chips. This is a very kid and baby friendly place, with a mini play area for toddlers, even the toilet is easy for parents!

An absolute gem for a place ✨️ We ordered hot chocolate (it came like a cake batter thick and chocolatey), cappuccino and cannolo (we learnt today canoli is actually plural 😄). Would definitely recommend a visit 😋

Such a great authentic spot of Italy in the heart of Altrincham! Really loved the fact that Italian radio was playing in the background, deli products (cheese/ cold meats) were available to buy, and we could again taste those very traditional pastries you can only eat in Italy. In our case, we had the 'cornetto' ( croissant ) and the bombolone (doughnut), plus Lavazza hot drinks. Carmelo (the owner) inserts the filling of your choice right at the point of taking the pastries to your table, and those fillings are to die for. The croissant was crunchy on the outside and fluffy and light in the inside, nothing like the greasy bundles of 'glued' layers you get elsewhere. This is, in truth, an Italian family restaurant, and lunch/ dinner is served daily (except for Tuesdays) until 10 pm, and due to the cozyness of the place, reserve a table if you can! There is a children's play area for the little ones, and cocktails/ wine for the not so little ones. I'm going to go for the cannoli next time.

What a fabulous place. Went to Bar Etna last night with a group of friends. The owners and staff were so welcoming and friendly. I have coeliac disease and the owner was knowledgeable about gluten free diet and cross contamination and was very accommodating. The food was delicious and service excellent. If you want to go somewhere to relax and eat good food and be transported to a little bit of Sicily this is the place. Highly recommend.

My partner and I visited Bar Etna this evening for the first time and we will definitely be returning! The food was very fresh and tasted beautiful. The hospitality was fantastic and it is apparent that the owners are passionate about the food they serve. Not only is this restaurant ideal for couples, families and groups of friends but the value for money is second to none compared to other establishments in the area. If you are ever in or around Altrincham , I absolutely recommend eating here.

Honestly, this place is a gem. Great pasta dishes at really affordable prices. Special mention to the pistachio trofie, it's just so good! They also have arancini fried on the spot and other great starters along with legit paste di mandorla which goes great with coffee. Plus the owners are lovely. Really good for a good quick bite or a relaxed lunch with a glass of wine.

What a wonderful evening! I felt as if I had been transported to Sicily, the atmosphere was lovely only beaten by the amazing service. Our waitress Lauren was amazing I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Altrincham to get a true taste of Sicily!
