Stone cold and complete wrong order.

Great place for vfm takeaway Middle Eastern food. Staff are helpful, prices competitive and selection excellent. Certainly better quality food than the regular Kebab houses scattered across the land.

I planned a night out with my other half and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Food was great and so was the staff. Always checking if we were happy with everything. Place 100% recommended

Great, a proper old fashioned traditional pub. Good atmosphere, a well stocked bar and good service. What more could you want?! Good wide entrance with step free access which is a bit of rarity in Brighton. Opposite two of the best restaurants in the area Curry Leaf and Petis Pois. Ideal for a pre dinner drink.

I hadn't been here before but on a miserable wet day and a shopping trip we found a table in this bustling pub. Restaurant upstairs or tables in the bar. Family and Dog friendly. Clean toilets!. We had the roast shank of lamb. Big portion served quickly and around £14.00 perfect for a stumbled upon late lunch at around 4pm

Came for lunch with friends. Lovely setting, very friendly staff . I had the sausage and mash. Good portion , but not much taste to the sausage and mash was not creamy enough

‏For first time I ordered chicken shish kebab BBQ with rice , I wish didn’t, the chicken it was not cooked like plastic and had blood , yellow rice as well there was no cooking of the day and ‏like stone. they charged me £15 I’ll never order again .

There's a very respectable man named Amoo. Also Mahmoud Shisha is excellent better than anywhere but sometimes the flavor is not good

Ordered via Deliveroo and wish I hadn’t. I would be a lot less hungry and financially better off. The doner meat had clearly been sitting there for some time. Very dry and hard and tasteless. Hardly any salad or sauce. The Mediterranean Breakfast was pretty rank. Potatoes had been reheated, I do not know how many times. Tasted disgusting, it made me retch. Ate some of the lebheh which was okay but not much taste to it, I was trying to make the hard, dry doner meat taste better, but this did taste fresh. The rest of Mediterranean Breakfast was horrible. I believe I got this dried up, old food because I had a delivery and not much a customer can do then. This was expensive at the best of times and for it to taste like that is a horrible thing to do to people. Basically, it’s robbery. I am reporting.

Awful doner never will buy again

If I would’ve been able to give this place 6 stars, I would. Fantastic and definitely one among the best restaurants serving middle eastern food in Brighton. I can't recommend enough, it's all deliciousness, the flavours that they are getting out of the food is just incredible. Amazing chef at this place. Priced well considering the quality. Look forward to returning and would certainly recommend.

Burned cancerogeneous carbon all over the wrap. I called the establishment twice and they only suggested me to ask for a refund via uber instead of trying to send me some proper food. Uber says I ordered 9 times from them. Shame that they care so little about public health and customer loyalty.

There are good kebabs, bad kebabs and average kebabs but there are also ... "Oh my god, where has this food been all my life" grills of heaven. This is simply the best there is anywhere outside of Syria itself!

Ordered Damasco mixed grill today, it's just disgusting. The meat is not fried, the koft kebab is raw inside, the natural minced meat is absolutely not fried, all the meat is without spices, not salted at all, and a little warm, it was simply not fried, I do not advise anyone to buy food in this place. Previously, I already made orders here and it was very tasty, but this time it is not possible to eat food

Amazing Shisha mango & Mint tea

This is my first time ordering from here and thought I would give them a go as they had special offers and OMG, I am so glad I did. I’m always worried when ordering from places I’ve not ordered from before but this restaurant didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious, hot and well packaged and prices were very reasonable! Excuse the dodgy looking plastic plate, as I was on a holiday and it was brought from home :) The food is so delicious. The chicken liver starter tasted like a proper home cooked meal. And although it was starter,there was enough for two people to have it as a main. Rice as you see looks beautiful too. I've also ordered Margarita pizza for someone else and I normally hate that type, as it's too cheesy for me. But this one was absolutely fab!!! Thank you!!!

I ordered Shawerma and lamb grilled plater with hummos and yoghurt and Chips with salad on side, it was delicious i enjoyed the meal, salad was fresh, Shawerma and lamb were Juicyyyy loved the service inside the restaurant, they were fast, very respectful and understanding, they even asked me if i have any allergies before ordering!!

We had need to leave a negative review previously due to poor quality. The service recovery from that review was exemplary. Not only did the business owner come to my home to discuss the drop in food quality but I was also given an understanding of why. The food is great, but literally every time I have ordered something from these guys they have always forgotten at least one item of food. Food quality is good, they just need to work on being more organized.

3rd time eating their food and consistency has been spot on. I've had chicken burger marinated to perfection, a lamb kofta in homemade flatbread wrap that was brilliant and now a special lamb steak wrap (also perfect). all excellent quality. What's very apparent is how much this Egyptian couple care about the quality of their food. the meat is so good.

I’ve tried the Kofta Stew and rice, it was amazing especially I really miss the Arabic food.

I ordered the mixed grill and a doner wrap. Quality and portion sizes of meats overall good, service and cleanliness very good. The major letdown/shortfall for me was the seasonings, condiments, salad and garnish items. It is a restaurant in atmosphere and price, yet the only two condiments available were store bought garlic mayo and hot sauce. The kind you get in 1 litre bottles. I have been to countless, Kurdish, Syrian, Lebanese and Turkish restaurants and they always have diverse salad, pickle, garnish and sauce selections to serve with food. Things always available are pickled purple cabbage, pickled turnip, fresh cucumber, salt pickle cucumber, olives, hummus, fresh parsley, mint and thick Greek type yogurt . In a particular good eatery they might also have halloumi cheese. Damasco grill only had the no frills economy hot sauce and garlic mayo plus iceberg lettuce, onion, tomato and hot pickled peppers. For me this was very disappointing and not fitting of the establishment and it's high quality grilled meats. The meats themselves are also plain and barely seasoned which is quite normal but means you really need the condiments! The portion size of the doner wrap is very good and I'd say the best value item on the menu. However because it doesn't have the fast flow of customers like a low price chip shop, the doner gets very dry. Which again means that you really really need sauces. On the plus side this means that the doner is thoroughly cooked, fresh and hot. Unlike many chip shops which can serve you stuff undercooked and tepid which will make you sick.

This is our second order from here.. first one was fresh and delicious, the second one was dripping in oil (very unpleasant!) and the chips had obviously been microwaved as the polystyrene container had been melted by the chips! The chip oil also needs changing as smells and tastes old. Altogether, not very impressed I’m afraid. The order was made tonight via the app

Ordered through deliveroo. Unfortunately I don't think this kind of food works as delivery as it was a little cold and dry. The hummus and tzatziki were very nice and well flavoured, but did not come with breads as advertised. The batata harra and cheese sambusa were also very flavourful and ample portions. The vine leaves were a little tasteless but again the portion was very generous. Both the cheese and chilli manakish were also quite bland, but the bread itself was very nice and fluffy. Lastly, the falafel and fattoush salad were both very disappointing. The falafel was incredibly dry and inedible. The salad was soggy and drenched in a tasteless dressing. It consisted of just iceberg lettece, tomatoes and onion and really didn't feel like value for money. All in all, not a terrible take away, the portions are definitely ample but the food was underwhelming. Not something we would order again. We were disappointed as we had hoped to have found a good meze restaurant and had chosen Damasco Grill based on its positive reviews. However, as I previously said, eating in may be a different experience.

Used Damasco for the first time last night after receiving a menu through the door a few days ago. The food was superb!!. Highly recommend. Will certainly be calling them again very soon. *****

Absolutely delicious - Tilapia fantastic and all the trimmings also. Houmous and Baba Ghanoush with bread and pastries I highly recommend. Warm and cosy out back in the heated marquee I felt like I was overseas on holiday 😊. Friendly staff and speedy service. We will be back.

Amazing food with a great price

Simply the worst service ever, I called to complain the chef had given my delivery driver a COLD kebab!! Literally had been sitting half an hour after it was cooked and then delivered, the restaurant said it was the drivers fault?? So why not make a FRESH kebab!! I will never eat here again, the guy hung up on me when I called to explain my kebab was cold - Hung up!!!!!!

The food was delicious and shisha is the best in brighton, some times i take the train from London to Portslade station to enjoy the extraordinary shisha they do. Extremely poor customer service. I had ordered three portions of chicken wings with lemon and herbs seasoning. Once I received the order, wings were overdone and did not have any seasoning. When I called in to let them know about the issue, not only did they fail to acknowledge the problem, they were extremely rude and confrontational. We like their food and that’s why we regularly place orders at the restaurant, but after the way we were treated, we will never order again. The chicken and lamb sheesh kebab was hastily made with all the stuffing spilling which made it impossible to eat.

Amazing place to join with friends or alone authentic flavor of Egipt. Big menu of Shisha, arabic te or coffee. They have kitchen as well if you want to have a meal. Go and try, you will never disappoint

My family and I visited the Damascus grill last Saturday. The place is now under the new management, as the previous owner ran it into the ground (see previous reviews!) The Syrian guy who now owns the place was very generous in giving us extra sauce and splitting the orders between plates (we ate in). Polite, gracious, cheerful. The kebabs were VERY tasty as well, good quality meat. We forgot a wallet there and it was safely kept until we got back to pick it up. I highly recommend!

Food was absolutely diabolical, turned up over an hour late and it was the wrong order. Refused to take the food back or give a refund and having continuous arguments with them. Very rude and disrespectful. Food was too chewy to even eat, only order from here if you fancy a pile of rubbery sheep poo for dinner

The food is absolutely diabolical. Not only did they bring the wrong food. They ruined my girlfriends food by putting chilli sauce in her kebab and refused to refund it or replace it. I would never recommend this place for food. The level of incompetence is beyond me. Look after your customers. I will continue to write poor reviews as we are so insulted by the way my girlfriend was spoken to not only by the staff, even the owner. DO NOT ORDER!
