DamasBridge in Cambridge

Awful. If you are looking for authentic, quality Middle Eastern food, look elsewhere. The bamiyeh with rice was given on plastic plates, looked microwaved since it got cold within a few minutes and parts of the plate were not hot. The meat was so tough we couldn't finish it. Dishes were so disappointing, and totally not worth the price. Food is shameful to even be labelled as Syrian.

Do not recommend We arrived at 8pm, the restaurant was locked, we were told that the only member of staff who spoke English has just gone out- so we’ll need to wait 30 minutes until he returns. We ordered bamiya with rice The bamiya was clearly microwaved as it turned cold within 3/4 minutes We ordered lamb fatteh and it was inedible, the meat was very chewy, fatty and tasted old.. the fatteh itself was sour and thin with no chickpeas Did not enjoy the meal Portions are small and overpriced

The best Syrian food I’ve had outside of Dubai! Traditional home cooked food, so tasty and amazing service also. Would definitely recommend and come back again :)

Lamb chops main meal was grilled to perfection. But bear in mind the portions are huge and automatically come with coleslaw and pickles so if you don't like either of those then ask them not to include it. The Lemon & mint drink was a bit too sour and bitter , could do with a little sugar but the mango smoothie looked divine. Very reasonably priced too, great service and authentic decor.

worst knafeh ive ever tried in my life. the upper part was not crispy or crunchy, and i think they used the wrong type of cheese, it was harder and chewier than other knafehs ive tried at various diff places. the base was also cheese, it was not layered with the filo thing. i wouldnt recommend

Decent food, nice atmosphere. Worth trying if your passing by. Good food portions too. Bathroom was a bit dirty but not a big deal could do with a clean up.

Terrible food. Supposedly a Syrian cuisine. Inedible falafel with an after-taste of bicarbonate soda. I would have forgiven this, but to get tabouleh wrong is just lazy and inexcusable! Thought tabouleh would be well-prepared as it is a Syrian place. Parsely cut so coarse that it hurts to eat it. Waste of time and money. Sad to see places like this still operating. Only edible dish was baba ganoush probably because it is straight out of a tin.

Lovely little restaurant with delicious food. Provided for our big group (~20+) people with mixed platters. Like the decor of the place and this smoothie was yummy! Hope to come back again next year. Thank you!

Atmosphere was really nice and calming. Food was delicious. Staff were very friendly. We ordered falafel which was amazing and Batata hara for starters. For mains we had Khubbeh bel Laban and Lamb Mousakaa both were really tasty and big size portions. We highly recommend:)

Our new favourite restaurant in Cambridge! The food is so delicious, fresh, and portions are huge. Great vegetarian options too. Service was very friendly and accommodating. And do try the pistachio baklava - best baklava I've ever had and I've tried a lot!

Absolutely delicious! Our first of many orders from here. We had a selection of dips and flat bread and a chicken shawarma and other starter dishes and it was all gorgeous. Particular favourite was the Mont Blanc cauliflower - all so good!

It started off well with the starter then went down hill pretty quick little staff no real content on menus to explain what your getting not once ask if you have any allergies as was served a dip with nuts in no care or love and the cheek to ask for a service charge when there wasn't any

Last night’s dining experience at DamasBridge was marred by a series of service mishaps that significantly detracted from our evening. Initially, we were looking forward to a leisurely meal starting with a cold starter followed by the main course. Unfortunately, the sequence of service was disrupted when our main meal arrived, conspicuously missing the starter. Upon realizing the oversight, we informed the staff and requested the cancellation of the starter, only to be met with its delayed arrival ten minutes later. This disruption in service flow led us to forgo the starter entirely. The culmination of our visit presented the final disappointment. We asked for the remaining food, including the untouched starter, to be packed for takeaway. Regrettably, the carelessness continued as all the items were haphazardly combined into a single container, resulting in an unappetizing mix that rendered the food unsuitable for consumption. It is with regret that we reflect on an evening where the quality of service did not meet the standard we anticipated, and we hope that DamasBridge will take this feedback as an opportunity to improve the dining experience for future patrons.

Lovely place tucked away down side road, plenty of food you won't be hungry when you leave.

Very (super) friendly. A clean place with delicious food. Went there as a single woman and felt very comfortable. The starter plate (small Version) was even too much for me, so I asked for a lunch box to take the rest of my plate with me. (Was no problem). Thanks for this nice dinner.

This place is actually comfortable and the location is not difficult to reach. But I don't know why the waiter was a bit rude. Maybe it's just my feelings that are sensitive. The food is okay, although it's not really great either. If I have the opportunity to go to Cambridge again, I might prefer another place to eat first.

We went for a meal at this off the beaten track Middle Eastern restaurant for Sunday Lunch. It’s a rare find in Cambridge. The ambient, decor, music, service and of course the food is top notch without breaking the bank. The mixed grill platter for two is generous and tasty. We had babah ganoush with home made thin pitta bread for starter and it’s heavenly. The sweet treats and lime with mint drinks for dessert didn’t let us down too. I’m glad we tried this place. It will surely not our last. Highly recommended for anyone one looking for something special and yet affordable.

Our visit to Damas Bridge today turned out to be an exceptionally delightful experience. Despite arriving for dinner without a reservation, we were greeted with open arms. The culinary journey was remarkable, starting with a selection of cold appetizers, followed by a mixed grill as the main course. The portions were notably generous, perfectly serving two. Beyond the exquisite flavors, what truly set our experience apart was the staff's friendliness and professionalism. They graciously accommodated our dietary preferences, substituting carbs with grilled vegetables upon request. It was, undeniably, a lovely dining experience, marking yet another memorable visit to Damas Bridge for us. Rest assured, this will not be our last.

Damas Bridge was the location of one of our recent team lunches. The restaurant was very accommodating and catered to suit all our dietary requirements. They were very patient and kind during the process of organising the lunch. The food was incredible and everyone really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend the falafel and the knafa. The mango smoothie was also brilliant.

Delicious food, you should try meze platter. We ordered large meze plate with 5 different mezes and it was more than enough for 4 people. They also have really nice homemade lemonade. Meat was delicious and marinated with well balanced spices. Portions are very generous.

We used catering service for the wedding, absolutely loved it. Sofyan helped us choose the menu, bearing in mind that it was a mixed-race wedding with people with various backgrounds and dietary requirements. Everyone loved the food and service. Highly recommend for all catering services.

Probably the worst shawarma ever. Just chunks of meat, not what shawarma should be. Such a horrible strong marinade. The garlic sauce was so pungent was like eating raw garlic. So disgusted honestly.

The meals were much bigger than expected, which in hindsight explains the relatively high price. My cream and mushroom chicken was the best meal I’ve had in months, truly. It tasted like real food, not take out junk food The smoothie stole the show though: actual blended fruit with large pieces of pineapple and whole strawberries Ava whole grapes sitting on top!

Amazing cuisine!! My first experience with traditional Syrian dishes and they were amazing. I had a plate of five mix eye-opening starter including Baba Ganoush (Smoked aubergine, mixed peppers, parsley, onion, garlic and pomegranate molasses), Muhammara (a dip made of walnuts, red pepper, breadcrumbs, olive oil and Aleppo chilly pepper), Mutabal (Grilled aubergine purée mixed with tahini and lemon juice), Tzatziki (Natural yogurt with dried mint, cucumber, garlic and olive oil) and LOUBIEH BIL ZEIT (Levantine stew of green beans cooked with olive oil, tomato, garlic, onion and Arabic spice). The starter was absolutely delicious and full of flavor and texture. For the main, I had DAMASBRIDGE SPECIAL DISH which are Balls of minced meat, marinated with the best types of damascene spices. Cooked with tomato sauce and pepper. Served with vermicelli rice. Food represents the best of our culture and the Syrian dishes I have tell me exactly that!

Muhammad and Arwa are such gracious hosts! They serve the food with so much warmth. All the food is so fresh and delicious. Very generous portions too! A beautiful, family friendly restaurant.

One of the worst middle eastern food I have ever tried in the UK. The kabobs were totally rotten. One bite and I had to spit out the bad tasting kabob. I was traveling from the US and my friends who had moved to the town took me out. I have never eaten or tried such bad food. Not even sure if their chicken ground kabob was real chicken. The appetizers were OK. The bread was terrible and so was the service. Highly not recommended. Probably, health department should pay them a visit.

Food is always fresh , price is very generous considering In Cambridge. Lamb / chicken sandwiches are Greta stable meal for all year round . Baklava beautiful! Though on pricey side , it’s made fresh and can taste that in every bite .

Generous portions but not of high quality.. The samosas were literally frozen, and even the flatbread-based dishes came with flatbread as a side. Friendly staff

I take my review from 2 years ago back! What a decline! I ordered the chicken wraps last night, that was it, never again. totally lacking in taste, the 'tortilla' bread was the worst thing ever done to them, not to mention the flavourless chicken and the lack of lemon in the garlic mayo! Chips were soggy and unsalted! Total waste of money and a dinner ruined! The corruption of the best is the worst kind of corruption, never again!

Accepted the order....Didn't receive the order... waited for almost 1 hour.

Very friendly, flexible service: we were is a rush as we were going to a show, so they brought our food out fast even though they also had a wedding party in the other half of the restaurant. The food was great too: all our favourite mezze plus some we hadn’t come across before like tiny aubergines stuffed with ground walnuts, and broad beans in a garlic dressing. Recommend 100%.

We had a very pleasant weekday evening at Damas Bridge. The service was excellent, the food very nicely seasoned and evidently freshly made. Quite a few options for vegetarians too! Definitely worth the walk down the dead end street.

I'm really pleased to see Damasbridge incorporating desserts in their menu. The Baklava and the Kunafa were SOOOO GOOD. The pistachios in these desserts really tasted like pistachios and the pistachios you would get fresh from a tree. I have a massive sweet tooth, so I will definitely be ordering these again. The chicken burgers were also nice and elevated by the pickles, which you can tell are house-made. Thank you so much for the delicious food 🎉🎉🎉

Amazing chicken shawarma, first time here. Served my Muhammad (sorry if I spelt it the wrong way) and Arwa, very helpful with guiding me into what to order. Amazing baklava too. Clearly a place with culture and Syrian inspired decor.

Finger licking Shawarma. I usually prefer lamb, but their chicken one was extremely decent and I'm going to get it next time. The flatbreads really suit the Shawarma - thin and elastic. A big plus for crispy chips, something not common in closed take away boxes. The only downside were the sauces. I wish they suggested which sauces suit the dish, I think that I ordered the wrong ones.

I ordered my favourites again (5 Mix Starters Plate, Fattoush), but this time I ordered some new food (Damas Chicken Wrap, Falafel with Halloumi). I continue to be impressed by how delicious and fresh the ingredients are. I think the Damas Chicken Wrap is my favourite so far (I have tried the Shawarma and the Falafel as well and they were very delicious too). It is cut into pieces and comes with a nice, varied selection of Toum (Middle Eastern Garlic spread), chips, salad and hummus. The 5 Mix Starters Plate contained Hummus, Mutabel, Baba Ganoush, Muhammara and Tzatiki again. It would be good to see some Warak Enab or Spring Rolls occasionally added to the 5 Mix Starters Plate. The Hummus and Tzatiki are smooth and delectable. Will definitely order again. Thanks again for the super delicious food ☀️☀️☀️

The only fresh, flavourful food on Just Eat comes from Damasbridge. I will definitely order the 5 Mix Starters Plate, the Fattoush, the Shawarma again. Tiny bit pricey (then again all food on Just Eat is pricey), but well-presented, delicious Middle Eastern mezze and food delivered warm, well-presented and early/on-time. The Shawarma came with Toum (Middle Eastern garlic spread), which was super delicious. For suggestions, I would say add some Syrian desserts e.g. Baklava too and add some set meals e.g. set meal 1 (mezze, main and dessert). Well done Damasbridge 👏👏👏

Ate the food within two seconds, the wraps are amazing, the food is very fresh and the service i received was beyond amazing.

the mousaka is just a bunch of veg in a pot it should.be made like a lasagne with potatos and white sauce all creamy.. try buffolo mediteranian in st neots for better mousaka.. and the stuffed aubergines were drenched in olive oil to point it was like pickled.. plain unseasonsed bread...again try buffolo mediteranian for amazing bread !! Disapointed ..never again

Went to you today at 1210pm for lunch and you were not open without any sign or notice. I saw bags of flour delivered inside the restaurant, and no other sign of anyone being around. will edit this review after i try again on another day and if you are open.
