Da Vito Ristorante in Leeds

We came here 2 years ago and enjoyed our meal so much that we tracked down the restaurant again. We were not disappointed as we had another delicious meal. 2 starters, 2 pasta main courses and a lovely bottle of wine cost £66 which we felt was good value.

We always visit this restaurant if we are in Leeds. It offers the best Italian food in Leeds, also they always remember you . Most places like this never tend to remember you and only acknowledge you if reminded of the fact that you always come. Also the prices very reasonable for the service that they offer.

I cannot fault this place, absolutely amazing staff so friendly and helpful. They gave us a free appetiser due to having a wait a little for a table. Food was the best Italian food I’ve ever had and for such a good price too, I cannot wait to come back again !

Ate here as a family of 4, all had different dishes but everyone enjoyed everything very much. Staff were friendly, helpful, attentive but not pushy. Waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us choose when indecisive & recommendation of branzino was delicious. Had some bread to share, 4 starters and 4 mains, shared hassleback potatoes and had 2 desserts and every dish was great, good portions and decent value. Really recommend the restaurant.

We saw this restaurant when we stayed recently at a luxury apartment on Park Place, it looked like a really nice restaurant off the beaten track all lit up at night. Coupled with the reviews on TripAdvisor we thought we would book a table for lunch being in Leeds at the weekend. Nice greeting from whom I can only presume to be the owner, we were seated to our table by the very polite male waiter. You could opt for the lunch time menu or the main a la carte and so we ordered a mixture of the two. We were brought a mouse bouche of some squares of pizza bread with ham cheese and rocket which was tasty. Ordering calamari to share and I chose the braised ox cheeks and my husband the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. We asked for some tap water and brought a glass each which is fine however most establishments bring a carafe of iced water or a jug to enjoy with your meal. We had ordered a glass of red wine and a beer but enjoy water whilst eating to clear the palate. The calamari was disappointing - incredibly salty, it was served with shoestring size fried zucchini and carrots with very little calamari mixed in. My ox cheek cane with mashed potato and the waiter advised there would be some seasonal veg on the plate. Yes it came with 3 tiny carrots and bizarrely pomegranate seeds and slices of tomatoes on top of my mashed potato! The presentation was not as expected with no finesse it resembled a school dinner with 1 ox cheek and the plate swimming in gravy. Cafe standard. My husbands steak was £34 plus and was served the wrong dish. It arrived sliced and with salad - no veg and no sauce. My husband enquired with the waiter who immediately returned it to the kitchen with apologies. However the steak my husband ordered at the most expensive was not suppposed to be sliced it differentiates on their menu! Moments later he was served the same sliced steak which was less pink by this time having asked for medium rare which had merely been replated on top of some very grey looking cauliflower and other dry vegetables. The sauce dribbled around the plate. My husband was not happy and mentioned to the waiter who was a little dismissive stating it was the same cut of meat - yes we know that, its fillet steak however this is not how it was supposed to be cooked and presented! So he ate it after I asked him to let it go, we paid and left never to come back. The restaurant itself is very tired with no ambience inside, not even busy on a Saturday prime time afternoon. £90 later it did not come close to expectations.

We came here last weekend for my birthday. There was 7 of us and we all really really enjoyed our meal and the service provided. We were met by who I’m assuming was the owner who was very welcoming and very attentive, as well as all the other staff there. Drinks and food were prepared quickly and the food was absolutely amazing! We will absolutely be returning when next in Leeds! I’m very shocked to see some bad recent reviews as we personally couldn’t pick a single fault with our experience and it was probably one of, if not the best restaurant, food and service we have ever had. We booked to come here 4 years ago as a family party of 4. Unfortunately, I was called for an operation, so had to cancel. The other family couple of the party who had travelled from Newcastle still vosited and had a good experience. We rearranged our reunion last night, and they chose to return here. Well, what can I say. Fabulous restaurant Fabulous staff Fabulous food! Had a great evening and will definitely return very soon as we live much nearer than our Newcastle family. Just a great family touch meet the owner, chef, and staff, and they feel like family!

This was one of the nicest Italian dinners that we've had out for quite a while, with a lovely atmosphere and great service. All our food was excellent, but the calamari starter that my son had (but he shared a few) deserves a special mention as the best I can remember having anywhere. I would definitely return.

Perfect Valentines night,greeted by Vito with a glass of champagne,had the most beautiful tasty fresh food,large portions,lots of choice on the menu and the specials menu.all presented really nice on the plate.Wine is of good quality reasonable priced.The staff had decorated the restaurant for Valentines Day looked really good.Always fresh flowers on each table and as was leaving a red rose for each lady.The staff are all friendly always make sure everything is ok. highly recommended if you want a quality meal,open lunchtimes.

We found this restaurant at the last minute. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff. We arrived early so had a drink at the bar. The wine was lovely and the food did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend a visit here, great food, great atmosphere.

Family meal with 2 adults 2 children (14/9). We experienced very good service and food in a lovely setting. The menu is extensive with some traditional Italian specials and all at reasonable prices. Would def go back next time in Leeds

I went to the restaurant for a friend’s 50th Birthday. There were 8 of us in total. We had a nice time amongst ourselves. I ordered pasta and another friend ordered salmon. The food was extremely bland and lacking flavour. We were all pretty much disappointed with the food to be honest. It’s overpriced and the food portions are very small. I asked if it was possible to bring some kind of sparkler out to surprise my friend who was having the 50th. This they told they did not have which I think is very poor. I certainly would never return to this restaurant again!

Food ok but let down by poor service. Just got ignored after finishing our main course - had about 20 mins finishing our wine but then waited a further 35 mins before it became apparent that no one was going to come to take our order for dessert, coffees and drinks. It's a shame because what started out as a good experience deteriorated into a disappointing evening. Could have been rescued at the end but the manager/owner just seemed resigned to the fact that we had bad service. Will we recommend Da Vito to family and friends? No. Will we go back to eat there? No. Shame.

Four of us visited Da Vito ristorante as booked in at 7:30 on a busy Saturday evening . A nice greeting at the door and shown straight to our table . Nice drinks selection and the vino is not extortionate . A complimentary starter was appreciated . We had a mushroom risotto and a seafood risotto both very good . A pizza also good . A pesto spaghetti meal was very poor and was returned to the kitchen . Finished with creme brulee and coffee . All in all I would recommend a visit to Da Vito Ristorante .

Both John and JJ ordered the Prawn Cocktail for starters which seems to be their go to dish, not a standard prawn cocktail as it had beetroot, apple and pomegranate added to it which made it even tastier and I opted for the buffalo mozzarella, tomato and avocado. For mains again the boys went for the same dish of tortellini ragu and I the tagliolini salmon. We were all very pleased with our choices and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Da Vito’s to anybody visiting Leeds.

Edited - returned here with friends visiting Leeds for the weekend and was disappointed with the service and the food was not as good as previous visits and I’ve always enjoyed the food here. It was a busy Friday night which might not have helped as it’s always been good on previous visits. Fab lunch and best carbonara I’ve ever had! Great service and really appreciated the free appetiser when we arrived. Would highly recommend!

It is a lovely restaurant with a nice layout and felt very intimate. The food was absolutely amazing, the garlic mushrooms were the best I have had in a restaurant. We both had starters, Mains and my husband had a pudding and we had a drink each. The bill was £62.50, which was very reasonable for such great food. If we lived local we would definitely be regulars. The only negative - The table situation wasn't great. We were right next to the kitchen door so it was very noisy and hot (more so as it was a very warm night as well). Also I was in the main walk way so my chair kept getting knocked by the staff rushing by. If we came back we would ask not to be seated there again.

My husband and I visited here last night after reading the rave reviews and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was not stuffy and very chilled and relaxed. The food was delicious and I can honestly say its the best Lasagne I have ever had and my husband loved his Veal Escalope. It was great that the owner and his chefs are actually Italian so they know how to cook Italian food properly! A word of warning the portions are huge so don't over order like we did. We can't wait to return with the family and can highly recommend

Give it up for Da Vito, a great find, easily walkable from Leeds station, first class service and food, sensibly-priced, and beautifully clean. Compared with other larger Leeds establishments, unpretentious under-stated, and definitely will go back. Staff friendly, efficient, knowledgeable. Great job.

I rarely post a review but it was the other reviews that led me to make the mistake of booking this place. It’s like stepping back in time about 20 years. Italian restaurants these days make their own pasta, use fresh ingredients, and take pride in their food. Not this one. If you’re over 50 and don’t appreciate good food this place is for you.
