This is a hidden gem tucked away on a side street and our favourite Italian restaurant in Leeds. It's not huge inside but has a nice atmosphere and the staff are always really friendly and welcoming. The menu has the usual Italian classics but there's always a long list of specials too. The food quality and taste is always top notch and it's clear they use good quality ingredients. The prices are reasonable given the quality of the food. Highly recommended

Flores frescas en la mesa como de costumbre muy bien decorado para la noche. se ofreció una copa de Prosecco en la casa, que era una buena idea. Pedí queso de cabra para empezar era tan sabroso acompañado de una buena ensalada fresca, porciones de buen tamaño. Para la alimentación mi marido pidió el salmón, un gran trozo de salmón se cocinó a la perfección vino con patatas vegetarianas hasselback. Pedí de los especiales mejilla de buey cocinado lentamente estaba en la cama de salsa rica en salsa de queso. la mejilla se acaba de derretir en su boca era tan tierna y magra, el puré estaba delicioso también. tuvimos postres después de un descanso una Crema Brulee y Tiramasu ambos caseros hecho realmente deliciosa, porción de tamaño perfecto. Una botella de vino blanco de la casa con la comida era de buena calidad a un precio razonable. Una gran noche en un entorno fabuloso

The reviews weren't wrong. Found this gem on a side street near our hotel and what a find! Perfectly cooked swordfish, delicious spicy penne and flavourful smoked duck. All topped off with perfectly attentive and relaxed service.

Es una de las mejores italianas en las que he estado. Comida muy auténtica y súper sabrosa. Siempre hemos recibido un servicio muy eficiente incluso en noches ajetreadas como San Valentín, el personal siempre ha sido atento y no puede hacer lo suficiente por usted! ¡No puedo esperar a volver de nuevo y recomiendo encarecidamente a cualquiera que busque un pedazo de Italia en Leeds!

Went here for pre show dinner. Despite our reservation having been deleted, they gave us a table and some appetisers compliments of the chef. A lovely touch. The food was fabulous and so reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. First visit and we will definitely go again. For 2 amazing courses, a mixed salad, for 3 people and 2 bottles of prosecco, it worked out at £55pp.

Nuestro grupo de 8 personas visitó un miércoles por la noche y el restaurante parecía cálido y acogedor. Estábamos sentados rápidamente y nos dejaron con menús a considerar. Se pidieron bebidas y se repartió un plato de mordiscos. La mayoría de la comida era sabrosa y lo que uno espera de un italiano era la opinión general del grupo. Sin embargo, los canelones de Ricotta y espinaca no estuvieron a la altura de las expectativas. Sabía encantador, pero por £ 16. 50 una porción eran 4 tubos llenos pero planos con una salsa de tomate. ¿Se estaban acabando? En comparación con la lasaña profunda que se sirvió fue muy decepcionante y si el restaurante y chef piensa que lo que sirvieron es aceptable que necesitan tener un replanteamiento. El servicio estaba bien, no es bueno pero no es malo. Tuvimos que pedir agua dos veces y se sirvió con actitud. Así que este lugar está bien, pero no recomendaría ya que hay mucho mejores italianos / restaurantes en Leeds.

Cenamos el sábado por la noche con algunos amigos de Italia y estábamos muy satisfechos con la noche. Ambiente muy agradable y personal amable. Muy buena cocina con una buena selección de platos típicos y pizzas. Felicitaciones, sin duda volveremos!

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere ✨️

We have eaten in this restaurant on several occasions and been very happy with the food and service however, on the last 2 occasions the service has let the restaurant down. We were extremely disappointed with the service on this occasion. We arrived on time and were seated at our table immediately and given the menu however, we were ignored for 25 minutes until my husband asked if we could order drinks, there was no apology regarding the delay from the waiter and we had to ask to place our food order, we waited an hour for our starters. Our waiter, who has also served us previously seemed to be wandering around the restaurant aimlessly. This was not the standard we have come to expect from Da Vito and resulted in a disappointing experience.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Booked a table for six for our annual get together with some long-distance relatives and was accommodated despite the restaurant being obviously fully booked! Thank you all for a lovely evening and apologies for the toddler amongst us screaming the place down for the first ten minutes after our arrival!

Gorgeous restaurant but main course came out whilst still eating our starter & calzone was raw, inedible, did give us a full new calzone but my husband had finished his main course so had to box mine up to take it home, very disappointed

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. A genuinely friendly welcome, authentically Italian, great ambiance, amazing food. Best calamari outside of Italy, if not just as good. What a find!!

A new favourite Italian restaurant of mine which disappointed over the weekend. The management of bookings and tables seemed to have gone haywire. The staff did their best, and some free drinks and garlic bread eased the pain.

Amazing service and lovely food. The pizzas were so tasty. My daughter requested a ham and pineapple pizza and although this wasn't available on the menu, the owner and chef did this for her. We will definitely be back when we are back in Leeds.

We had to wait 20 minutes for our table but boy was it worth it. What can I say about this place. Excellent and great staff and service. 10/10

A fabulous independent restaurant, high quality cooking, wonderful friendly staff, and decent value given the outstanding location, food and overall experience. Located right in the centre of Leeds, the prices didn't feel unreasonable but given the portion size and quality of cooking exhibited on our visit, I actually feel they are very good value. The mussels starter was exceptional and could easily have been served as a main. The pizza was both crisp and chewy in texture and not over topped. The pasta was nicely cooked and intensely flavoured for a relatively simple dish - classic Italian cookery at its best. The welcome from the staff was outstanding and friendly chat throughout the meal was perfectly pitched to enhance the evening while never feeling cloying or over the top. I would certainly return and take others with me next time I am in Leeds.

Delicious food. The only criticism is the length of time taken for service. Waiting an age for drinks, and even longer afywr mains for the dessert requests. Everything was delicious when it arrived, just don't go too hungry or you'll be eating your own arm by the time the food arrives!

Visited here Saturday evening during a weekend away for the Christmas market. The food was absolutely incredible, I would go as far as saying it was one of the best meals out we all had ever had! Everything about this place is fantastic, staff are lovely and the atmosphere is really nice. We will rush back when we return to Leeds. Highly recommend!

Met up with friends at lunchtime today, our first time at this restaurant and we were very impressed. The host was very friendly and helpful. The menu choice was large and varied. All the food was delicious and well presented. The host made us feel like family! Very relaxed and such attentive service. Thank you! The restaurant, staff and service was lovely, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our starter was beautiful, we had fresh mussels in white wine sauce. Sadly for our main we both had tomato pasta with crab, and the penne pasta tasted like dried pasta, and the crab tasted like tinned crab. For £17 per main it was rather disappointing and we did leave feedback to the server to let the chef know. Unsure if we’ll be returning but just make sure you ask if it’s fresh or not if you plan on going.

Excellent restaurant, they welcomed us kindly (group of 5) with impeccable service. Not to forget the food which was delicious, I really wanted to let my foreign friends try the flavors of home and Da Vito was an excellent choice. Highly recommend and thanks for the coffee!

First visit to Leeds and so pleased to find this fab place with a great host in Vito. Slight wait, but only a problem if youre in a rush! Meals were superb.

Unfortunately we didn't have the experience of others. The prawns didn't appear fresh, we're poorly cooked and the texture/taste was not enjoyable so they were returned. The manager apologised which we appreciated. However, it dampened our experience. The pasta dish my partner had was edible but lacked flavour. Maybe they were having an off night? But we wouldn't visit again.

Arrived last Saturday and never ate so I can only give food 1 star ! We were sat at our table when a waiter spilled a full jug of ice water down my back . After spending 20 minutes in the ladies a young girl came to ask if I was okay but she could see I was wet through and the dryer wasn’t powerful enough to dry my clothes . I was so embarrassed that I asked my husband to take me home soaking wet !!! Did the manager offer to get us a taxi …NO Did the manager even ask if I was okay … I had the humiliation of walking through the train station soaking wet to catch the train home .

They greet you warmly before your meals and the light, flowers and colors inside are wonderful. Food too 👌🏻.

Authentic Italian food, I would go again

Just enjoyed a beautiful dinner here, the taste is magnificent, service and attention is very good, it felt like real being at home in Italy. Unfortunately in leaving Leeds tomorrow, otherwise I would surely return here, Grazie mille ragazzi per una serata buonissimo.

Great experience. Turned up at 2.25 without realizing they closed at 2.30. No problem - warm welcome. Excellent food and service, no pressure at all to eat and leave quickly. Authentic Italian experience - would definitely recommend.

What a gem! Superb food and a great drinks selection. The staff were absolutely lovely. Friendly, attentive and very efficient. We had a really lovely meal here, would highly recommend.

A group of 4 of us visited again last week after a great experience previously. This time was even better, we all had very different orders, pizza, steak and pastas and all came at the same time hot and fresh! We all opted for Tiramisu for desert and it was to die for, not really sure how we managed to fit it in but oh my! We WILL be back again very soon, thank you to all of the staff who made us feel very welcome!

Myself and a few family members came to Da Vitos a couple of days ago and the food was absolutely beautiful! We all got different dishes and desserts and no one had any complaints, I got a steak and it was cooked to perfection and one of the nicest steaks I’ve had for a long time, my boyfriend is still raving about his calzone, a couple of us got desserts too but my mum got the tiramisu and she said it was gorgeous! The vibe of the restaurant was lovely and also the staff were great and attentive too. Will definitely return, thank you guys!

Four of us dined Saturday evening for my birthday on Monday. It was our first visit, but won't be our last. The food and service was lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very nice food and great service

Food is exceptional. Sadly, we had to wait over an hour for our lunchtime meal. And we had to ask about it. No apology. And one of our group had to choose again as by this time they had sold out of her choice. Not sure we will go back, which is a shame as it really was delicious.

What's important is we were accommodated and not turned away ... we arrived with no reservation and close to the kitchen closing and the restaurant was busy...we were asked to sit at the bar while we waited and grabbed a couple of drinks, from the outset the bar staff were smiling and friendly, they knew their drinks and we were seated soon as possible. The waiter and waitresses all had a smile and a warm welcome the food was spot on, delicious and there was a warm and friendly atmosphere all was chilled and comfortable. We even got a handshake on departure which felt personal and attentive. Rita & I would 100% recommend " da Vito " for an evening meal.

We were there to close our visit to a week full of beautiful moments in leeds with my family and it couldn't have been the most beautiful end!! The food is wonderful, the owner is Philhellene and so cordial and the waiters are kind!! I would recommend it without a second thought. Well done Da Vito!!

Lovely little Italian we visited after our daughter's graduation. Booked last minute and managed to fit us in. Good selection on the menu and the food was great. We all had cocktails as well which again can't fault. Service like everything else was great, would highly recommend.

We were greeted by the owner, in fact was serenaded on arrival. Mandy, our friend had organised the venue, when she booked she asked for a cosy area, and the staff surely accommodated, We had processco on ice, food amazing, compliments to the chef's(see all the meal pictures attached )excellent flavoured food. Lunchtime visit for me and my 2 kids. All three mains were stunning, I think this might be the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy. Penne with 'NDuja was the perfect amount of heat, my daughters risotto was balanced in both flavour and texture, and I love the fact that kids meals are smaller portions of the mains, so my sons carbonara was full of flavour and not just a cheap version. We didn't have as many drinks as an adult party might have, but we shared a dessert, I had a beer and an espresso, and it still came to less than £20 a head, which is phenomenal value. Our first visit but we will definitely be back. Bellissimo!

The food is fresh and very good - I had the cannelloni main and asparagus starter, both were top notch. The tiramisu made with panettone was maybe the best I've ever had! Good wine selection too. They were delicious and the Ragu in the lasagne was perfect. The penne piccanti had a nice kick to it and was really enjoyable. We would recommend them both!

I've been here twice now and both times it has been exceptional. The menu has something for everybody and the food is incredible. Best Italian restaurant I've been to so far and worth the trip to Leeds.

Visited here recently after having been a couple years ago and loving it. The waiting staff were lovely and I got to practise my Italian, everyone was very friendly. We splashed out a bit for a nice bottle of wine and the wine glasses weren't great, but oh well. What was really disappointing was the food. I ordered a carbonara - which was supposed to have cream in it according to the menu - what?! A carbonara does not have cream in it. I asked for it without and honestly it was not nice. Bland and the pasta was totally undercooked. They did remake it but it wasn't much better. Just not nice. My friend had a mushroom pasta that was dry and not good. The sides (vegetables) were tasty. Dessert was good and they give us free limoncello which helped. Lovely lovely people but was so disappointed with the food. I hope it was just a bad day in the kitchen.

This beautiful little restaurant is perfect! We stumbled across it whilst looking for a wine bar, and it is an absolute gem. The wine here is superb, but the food and service is amazing. We has the Bruschetta, Carbonara and n'juda Pizza. It was all wonderful. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of the food. But this place was wonderful. Great staff, great service. Bellissimo

We came here 2 years ago and enjoyed our meal so much that we tracked down the restaurant again. We were not disappointed as we had another delicious meal. 2 starters, 2 pasta main courses and a lovely bottle of wine cost £66 which we felt was good value.

We went for a work lunch and had great food and lovely service. Very authentic Italian feeling and a lovely welcome. Food was all very nice and we left full.

We always visit this restaurant if we are in Leeds. It offers the best Italian food in Leeds, also they always remember you . Most places like this never tend to remember you and only acknowledge you if reminded of the fact that you always come. Also the prices very reasonable for the service that they offer.

after getting caught in the rain on our walk, me and my mum were greated with a warm welcome and paper towels to dry ourselves (we were soaked) the food was incredible and the service was extremely fast. even when leaving the owner offered us an umbrella for our walk home - extremely nice and caring staff

Da Vito. Name Says It All. Great food and atmosphere. People who know Vito they know how good Mr Vito is When it Comes to Italian Food. I started eating at Viva which was Mr. Vitos old place on Lower Briggate. The guy knows what he's cooking and what his customers want. Always Sharp and Attentive to His Customers Demand. The food in this place was just as good as I would expec. Prices are reasonable as compared to other Italian places around in Leeds city centre. Highly recommend this place.
