Marinella's in Leeds

First ever visit and so delighted with everything. The reception the menu the friendliness and the time taken to talk us through the specials and the main menu. The food was excellent and made us feel like we were in a special friend’s house in Sicily. Absolutely loved it will definitely be going again

I asked for a recommendation and the suggestion was Carbonaro. It is not what I would usually choose but as this is a genuine Italian family I trusted them. I am so glad I did. It was amazing. Not the overly creamy version I avoid, but something of substance, depth, and moorish as hell. I will be asking for their recommendation next time as well.

Never disappointed - we went for a dinner on our Wedding Anniversary and enjoyed the great hospItality and excellent freshly cooked food. Excellent value for money with great portions and authentic flavours of southern Italy. The team at Marinellas always make one feel special and bring that little extra to the dining experence.

Well, we usually have the meatballs with penne..also love the minestrone soup, but today I had the bistecca...It was amazing ! Steak beaten to a thinness & rolled around cheeses & spinach...I would really recommend this delicious dish.

Never disappointed by the wonderful service and superb freshly cooked food. The authentic Sicilian cuisine is always a treat. We had a great range of starters, main courses and of course the great puddings.

We booked last minute and didn’t know what to expect. We arrived at 7.30om on Saturday evening and only one other table was occupied . Oh my word don’t be fooled this is the best food I’ve had in a very long time!! My husband and I went expecting a decent pizza and came away with our tastebuds exploded!! The garlic bread with tomato was so good. We shared it as a starter as it was £10 but it is worth every penny. There is a fairly basic menu on the tables but the lovely hostess ( all staff are Sicilian) talked us through 10 specials which were all really intriguing. I can’t tell you how tasty they were. I went for tagliatelle with garlic peas and asparagus my husband had flattened steak rolled up with spinach ricotta and pancetta. We thought we were stuffed but when they brought out the desserts we caved and had one ea h. Photos attached. The whole experience was like being in Sicily in someone home with the best traditional food made with love. I can’t recommend it enough. Prices also so good and bring your own alcohol is an added bonus. Nearly didn’t write a review as we don’t want it to get too busy but that’s selfish. Honestly this is a hidden

Went here today for the first time for Sunday lunch with my university student son and was amazed to discover such authentic Italian cuisine outside Italy. Marinella is from Sicily and serves the highest quality food and at very reasonable prices that I have ever experienced outside Italy. This is Italian home cooking at its very best. She also sells a good range of quality Italian products that she imports directly from Italy. Sadly I only visit Leeds from time to time but for all future visits, this gem of a restaurant will be a must stop.

On a return trip to Leeds after 5 years, discovered thus gem of Sicillian cuisine. A friendly family atmosphere, with prices to match. Eat in or takeaway this is a must to discover

My friend and I enjoyed an excellent meal again at Marinella’s. You won’t find a better pizza anywhere - and I’m not a great pizza fan - freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. Ours was topped with aubergines and peppers with ricotta as an extra. There is definitely that personal touch and Marinella adapted our salad to our particular taste. There is an extensive menu and my husband and I have enjoyed a variety of flavoursome dishes. A flavour of Sicily in a Leeds suburb.

We wanted Italian and picked this place from Google. Arrived and almost didn't go in because it looked more like a run of the mill cafe. However, we went in anyway and it terms of food it was one of our best decisions. This is authentic Italian home cooking of the very finest. Superb quality freshly prepared and beautifully served by a very kind and friendly Marinella whose cooking is clearly the result of generations of family experience. Next time I am within 30 miles of Alwoodly I know exactly where I will be eating. I can't commend the food too highly

Marinella kept the restaurant open for us on a Saturday evening. She spent the time explaining the dishes and prepared it all herself. I cannot recommend this place enough. I was there with my wife and parents. I thoroughly recommend it. Well done. Will be coming back here.

Read the reviews and thought it sounded great ordered the pizza it was the worse pizza iv ever eaten. Raw dough no flavour and tasted of nothing. My partners was the same and the pasta dish ordered wasn’t good. I’m afraid I won’t be visiting again can cook a lot better my self and I’m not Italian

We called to order pizzas for collection. We were told they would be ready at 2.15. We turned up at 2.15 to be told to wait another 10 mins. We waited and waited....2.50 it was ready!!.. she forgot our order!! Absolutely horrendous way to treat customers. I was sick all that night! Food not fresh! We will not be going back! Shocking experience all round it has put me off pizzas for life!

This is a fabulous find. Restaurant with inside and outside seating. The food is fabulous. Marinella is a lovely host and spent time talking with us. Will definitely be back.
