Curado Bar in Cardiff

One of my favourite places in Cardiff, the food is great and the atmosphere is really chilled.

Table service absolutely terrible. Whole experience was 1hr 20mins and aat there for 35 minutes waiting for a waiter to come over for an additional food order but seems they were more interested in polishing wine glasses. Good food but diabolical service..

We came in at 12 for lunch. Fantastic service, the waiter advised us on food and wine, and he was spot on we had great food and wine. When visiting Cardiff again, we definitely would come here again.

A great place to get a bite to eat when exploring Cardiff. A good selection of dishes and the waiter was very helpful when asked about non cow dairy dishes due to an intolerance. Huge wine selection and all in all a great lunch stop. Will be returning here on our next trip.

Super tasty tapas, well worth a visit. Nice atmosphere and great staff

Me and my boyfriend came here a few months ago and I will never be going back. It took 40 minutes to get a jug of tap and asking 3 times and the waitress gave us attitude when there was a miscommunication and there were 2 jugs at the table. The portions are tiny. You pay £5 for one mouthful. The only thing good about was patatas bravas which were cooked perfectly and was the only filling thing.

We visited on a particularly cold day so that might have had something to do with it but it was rather cold inside which didn’t make for the most pleasant eating environment. The kitchen closed surprisingly early but the staff do let you know. The stated closing time was 11pm but last orders were by 2150. It certainly made it feel like the staff just wanted to go home. Having eaten in various tapas bars across the country this one’s food was nothing exceptional and rather ordinary. The menu could be smaller and more refined. Cook a few things better than everything just ok. However the alcohol selection in the bar is great with lots of locally sourced Spanish produce

Staff were ignorant & rude, they really were not bothered at all! Had to flag someone down for something every step of the way, from ordering drinks, to the meal, to dessert, to the bill. And more over NO ALLERGEN questions were asked upon taking order & thankfully as the main arrived we queiried the dish & to our dismay we had to send it back as we would have had a nasty allergic reaction. A wasted £90 if you ask me. And I spent a further £30 in the shop area! To add - this was the middle of the day and restaurant wasn’t “full” before that excuse is used. Hopefully management reads this and pulls some heads out of the sand. - Stevie

Very good tapas and good drink selection. Service quite mixed - friendly and speedy initially, then forgotten items, no revisit to see if we were good and left for ages with empty glasses and dirty plates. We would have ordered another bottle and round if we could get anyones attention but gave up trying and moved on.

I've been to Curado Bar many times over the past few years. The food and service are always excellent. Quality and price really can't be beat with a lovely laid back atmosphere to go with it. Being able to purchase items from the menu at the storefront is also such a nice touch!

Helpful & friendly service as a first time diner. Loved the warm and spanish style bar. First class tapas & the pork loin was just 🤌 Highly recommend!

Nice wine bar with food options

Great food, went with work colleagues, there isn't a dish I didn't like. Very reasonable prices. We even had a takeaway box for some food as we liked it that much.

I had wanted to try this place for ages but decided to bite the bullet and go in and give it a go and I enjoyed a sangria and tapas! I am happy to see you again in the future!

Curado Bar has a friendly and busy atmosphere. Everyone serving is always attentive and sociable. The food and drinks are fantastic. Can’t fault.

Trendy tapa restaurant, great atmosphere. Party of four. Food was tasty, obviously being tapa the portion sizes are always small, so cannot comment on value for money, for small bites and good atmosphere this is the place to go. Very authentic Spanish food, being a resident of Spain I knew I would be very critical of the food, but surprisingly although limited, their food was very good, but expensive in comparison to Spain, which is understandable as they import their produce. Bottled Beer was not cold enough, this is the only criticism I have

Una de las mejores comidas de tapas que hemos tenido fuera de España - informal pero con ingredientes de excelente calidad y excelentes (aunque un poco caros) vinos. Compartimos un plato mixto de quesos y carnes, además de 3 o 4 platos pequeños y una rioja blanca - sabores fabulosos y un servicio encantador. Una mezcla - en uno de los platos pedidos se clasificó rápidamente.

This one is a bit difficult to rate as the flavours were great but the portions were just too small. We went for lunch and the bill crept up to close to 33£ per person and left hungry. We ended up going to another pub for more food 20 min later. Great for a drink and a snack but get your meal somewhere else.

Great spanish style bar. Pricey but a good quality

Awesome service with good recommendations and conversation. We sat at the bar and the atmosphere was amazing, even at dinner time with a pre-teen! Enjoyed our food and reasonably priced. Glad that we swung by!

Wonderful evening from start to finish. We didn’t have a booking and travelled in from Swansea for some shopping/ as a birthday eve dinner. The customer service was one of the best I’ve ever received and the food was DIVINE. It was very busy but we were looked after the whole time. I can’t wait to return! Would recommend to anyone!

Very slow service to start and not busy. Table of 8 ordered at same time, told the pork £15 take a little longer to cook, All other food came out in 15 mins, after 40 mins asking where pork dishes are, told on way, little later later they came out to ask what we ordered??? Really??? Then told told dish take longer to cook... Clearly forgotten also and as rare and would not take more than a few mins to cook, 10 mins later and sliced pork arrived. Plus £15 for small slice of meat,,, both of us waiting nearly an hour thinking this was a main course with more was very Annoying

First time visiting after having such a good experience at Vermut bar wine tasting for a work team social last year. Was really looking forward to catching up with friends but was really let down by our visit here. The service was extremely slow. We had to wait ages for drinks to come to the table and for food orders to be taken. Once we had finished the bottle of wine and ordered another one there was no sign of it after 30mins so we physically had to get up and ask another staff member for it. Kept on turning around trying go get the attention of staff to then pay the bill and was sat for 40mins that we again had to get up to request the bill. The bill came quickly but was wrong and there was an extra bottle of wine charged! Again we couldn't catch staffs attention to flag the mistake with them so had to get up and point out their error. It was almost 30mins later thst they brought over the correct receipt and that then followed by having to wait for the card reader! Receipts show length of time we had to wait between first bill being printed and the error remedied! Would not return based on service alone as it was very frustrating and enjoyed what was a long overdue catch up with friends!

the place is great, authentic and genuine food, good service, quality for money. The small tapas are fantastic to share, really good choice of breads and Spanish Tortilla, really tasty aioli. the wine selection got some variety and good selection of red wine.

Amazing food every time we visit, wouldn't go anywhere else

Not great. A group of us came for food as it was a friends birthday, after being sat down we had a look at the menus and ordered some drinks, along with said drinks we also ordered some tap water for the table. it took around 15 minutes to receive the drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine and 3 bottles beers so nothing that has to be prepared beforehand. after we received the drinks it took around 40 minutes for someone to ask what we wanted to eat, despite the server seating other guests and taking drinks orders for them, it was not busy so i don’t understand why there were so many delays. The food: The food was okay with certain dishes being very deceiving, some of the bread we recieved was like we were trying to take a bite out of the table we were sat at. At this point we’d still not received our tap water we ordered 55 minutes prior and nobody checked up on us while eating, which, considering the amount of covers is awful. After our food the table was not cleared for around 30 minutes and still isn’t fully cleared as i’m writing this review, we got the bill 10 minutes ago, had to prompt the server to even receive a card machine and still have not been able to pay for our food!!!

Fantastic selection of gluten and lactose free tapas

Truly exceptional. The black pudding, piquillo pepper and goats cheese on toasted bread is the best thing I've ever eaten. Also very caring staff, as sat alone and wanted a lower seat offered for me to sit upstairs even though (I don't think) it was open (due to the need). Honestly couldn't recommend this place enough. Thank you so much all.

One of my favourite bars in Cardiff. Great drinks, love the choice of wines but my favourite drink is probably a Marianito. Food is always good, great Pintxos, really like the Chicharrones, the cheese selection and the fried almonds. Staff are always fantastic and very knowledgeable ans enthusiastic

Good pub, good prices and good atmosphere.

Excellent service, the barman was professional/friendly. Atmosphere down stairs was fitting. The food was mediocre at best, minimal effort, lacked any kind of finesse. Maybe we picked the wrong food, but expected something different than I could cook at home in 5 mins.

Our server Jack was amazing! Vegetarian options but unfortunately not a lot that I actually like, which was a shame. We went for a family meal but I felt it was a bit kre casual than what we usually go for when going with our family. A relaxed friends night out would be great though. Everything I did have said very tasty and my fellow carnivores assured me they enjoyed also 👍

Staff were lovely but very disappointed at the sharing platter for 2 - small cut cheese's, small chorizos, olives and some jelly things not sure what they were £16.00, we ordered separate patatas brava - which were lovely we had to go somewhere else to eat as we were still hungry - it was a shame as we were recommended by a friend and were really looking forward to eating here 😣

Honestly can't fault this place. The atmosphere, food and service is always excellent. Lots of beautiful wines on offer at affordable prices and some wonderful tapas dishes, especially the pork skewers.

The atmosphere upstairs wasn’t great. Neither was the service. Food came at different times, which is, of course, expected with tapas, but it was bordering on ridiculous. Almost one person finishing their food before another person had theirs. Asked twice for butter, took about 20 mins to come. Food was okay but nothing you couldn’t make at home. A shame after a previously positive experience.

Been here several times for both after work drinks and some really good Tapas food with friends!! Delicious food, always good service from the staff followed by some really good Vermouth from their bar next door!

In Cardiff visiting friends and they suggested going to Curado. So pleased they did, great food, great drinks, great service and good prices. If you go try the Vermouth bar next door which they own, great experience.

My favourite go to when i need a little pick me up or just to chill. Amazing staff and a great selection of vermouth makes for a good conversation point.

Great place! Booked for restaurant and got sat on the tall tables downstairs which was annoying. Felt like they were short-staffed as service wasn't at it's best like normal but food is always amazing

We went to the Curado X Lahmacun supper club on Sunday afternoon. 5 courses, 5 matched wines. What a great afternoon! Lucas's food was terrific - Arabic with a twist, and he gave a great introduction to each of the courses, explaining the ingredients and why he had chosen them. The flavours were punchy and different. The Curado boys were great fun, also explaining why they had chosen the wines, discussing the vineyards and producers, and generally having a good time whilst they served us. Not just wines on Sunday, but a Vermouth and a sherry. All delicious, all perfectly matched to the dishes. You sit in groups, and we had a lovely time with the others on our table. My only complaint would be that it wasn't always clear how many people each dish is supposed to serve - there was an awkward moment when we realised a dish we thought was for 4 was actually for 7. However, the guys soon sorted that out for us and all was good! It was our first supper club but we will definitely be back.

This place is amazing!! Visited last night got food and really enjoyed. The patatatas bravas were crispy and tasty, the croquettes were outstanding and this tomato salad was another level. Service was mostly good with few issues. Recommended.

What a lovely place for Spanish tapas dishes! And gorgeous choice of drinks too! The staff really care about the food they serve and the service they provide. Outstanding food with a huge choice of big lates, small plates and nibbles. The atmosphere was super chilled and the interior was very trendy and the perfect vibe for the type of bar. We will 1000% be returning. Perfect for a date night or a quick stop for a nibble and drink.

Spent the evening here after Wales v Italy match. The sherry and tapas were of a high quality and I probably imbibed a tad too much of the former! Over the course of several very enjoyable hours I managed to lose a quite expensive pair of glasses from our table. With low expectations of their return I left my details with a staff member. Upon waking I found a text from Jack Holtom, who had reviewed CCTV footage and identified that they had mistakenly been picked up by a friend of a friend. Within hours the glasses were returned. Huge thanks Jack for taking the time to do this after what must have been an incredibly busy international day. Diolch yn fawr.

Most authentic Spanish tapas! The fried Calamari was the highlight! Will go back again.

The staff working Friday 15th March made our evening fantastic. They all made an effort to help celebrate the occasion (birthdays) for a big group of us and we can't thank them enough. Food was great, service excellent!

Best restaurant in Cardiff by a MILE. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff, great prices and the most amazing quality food. Both the pintxos, ready to eat from the bar, and larger, more complicated plates are equally as stunning, and they do veggie food so well too. This place deserves a Michelin ⭐️, its that good!!

Lovely place. Staff were nice but did think they could be a bit more attentive. Food was nice but portions were very small. This beer on the other hand was delicious!

Came in for a glass of lovely Spanish wine (amazing quality & choice) and ended up being tempted by their tapas. Incredible cheeses too.

Amazing experience as usual. Made all the better by our waiter Harry. It was almost as if 'just by magic' he appeared at the perfect time when we needed him. Oh and food as usual was second to none, made all the better due to Harry's attention. I would highly recommend the Aubergine dish!

Lovely food, great service, what more can you ask for? Lots of choice, although a couple of things were sold out. They also sell Spanish meats and cheeses to take away along with a wide variety of bottles, jars and tins. All very tempting

Super warm and instant welcome. Meet by a massive smile at the door by Mania. All staff were positive and nice. Food was wide-ranging and expected portion sizes.

DO NOT DINE HERE! This has to be the worst restaurant I have been to in a very long time. We were a party of 6. Everything went well until the waitress came to take our order. She didn't know anything about the menu. The menu was in an obscure font and tiny letters, so it was very difficult to read. That was the last time we saw her. It was a different waiter or waitress each time we ordered after that. One waiter in particular was wearing short shorts and was incredibly rude. I watched him and the other waitresses arguing at the till for ten minutes before he stomped over and threw a bill at me for 240 quid that I didn't ask for. He literally threw it on the table. Grunted at me and stomped off. Our whole table was shocked and disgusted. They were arguing because we had a different waiter each time we requested something, and there was no system in place for our "correct" bill. Look at the picture. That plate cost 15 quid. I ate that in two mouthfuls. I thought it was a joke when it got served to me. Starter was 8 quid for a very small piece of stale bread with a bit of feta on it. Drinks took forever to arrive, and when they were, the staff were very rude, and we did not feel welcome at all. Needless to say, we will never come here again.

I'm not the biggest fan of Spanish food but haven't had any for years so thought why not try some tonight. I looked online and this place appeared to have good reviews so off I went. First impressions was how surprisingly busy it was on an early Thursday evening. It took a while before I was seated. I was seated at the bar first but asked if I could be seated at a table. They gave me an hour as the table was booked, which was more than enough time. There wasn't really anything on the menu that really popped out to me so decided to play it safe and order a potato small plates and a shin beef special. The potato arrived piping hot so I had to let it cool down for a bit. Flavourwise, I personally thought there was too much going on and I'd rather it was a more simplistic affair. I guess this is how it's meant to taste so bear that in mind. As for the beef, that arrived a lot cooler and it did taste quite nice though I wish there was more chucks of beef. The sauce was really tasty but I had no spoon and it didn't come with any bread to soak up the juices so I wasn't sure how best to consume this dish. Though I wish I had picked other dishes, that's not to say the food I did have was by any means bad. Its more likely I don't appreciate Spanish cuisine as much as others do.

Sadly this place has gone downhill since opening..... Menu is now quite limited and the service was atrocious. We ordered the £27 bottle of wine and when paying the bill noticed that they tried charging £70 for each of the 3 bottles we ordered. There were 2 bottles similarly named and they tried to charge us for the expensive one despite me pointing at the £27 bottle in the menu when ordering......turned into a very embarrassing evening. Won't be going back 🫣

This was my second time at Curado -- and it won't be my last! The food here is fantastic: the variety, the quality, and the taste... really is amazing. Our server was very friendly and helpful, but there were some moments when things moved a little slow; to be fair, though, the restaurant was packed (it was Christmas-time in Cardiff, after all). I'll definitely come back during a future visit to Cardiff -- but I may choose a less crowded night if possible. Overall, though, I love Curado -- drinks, food, dessert, atmosphere... it's all great!

We visited on Saturday lunch time late November. We didn’t book in but got a table, one of the high tables overlooking the windows. We ordered a variety of dishes for 2 people with a couple of glasses of wine. The food was fine, the service was good at first but then it was difficult to get hold of staff, even though there seemed to be lots of them there, we had to go to the bar to order a couple of things, given it’s a tapas restaurant this needs to be better. The building has been nicely done out but it does struggle with atmosphere. We probably won’t return, not because it was terrible but because it was ok and there are plenty of other options at a similar price.

I was visiting Cardiff with a friend and stumbled on this jewel of a place down a side road. We had a fantastic meal and the service was outstanding even though the restaurant was crammed. Unfortunately we were presented with the wrong bill at the end of the meal which I paid without studying it. The bill was nearly twice the amount it should have been. I rang them several days later when I checked my account. The guy I spoke to was incredibly understanding and helpful. He found the correct bill, based on my table number and refunded the difference. What a pleasant surprise to deal with someone who actually cares about their customers. I will DEFINITELY be going back and suggest you do too. 10//10 in every way.

Staff were excellent, and after our meal (which was delicious) helped us find our next destination. Food was great - Small plates, but massive flavour!

Love the food here with a bottle of Marina Alta, perfect date night or with friends!
