Me and my partner visited here today 28/8/22 and outside the cafe on a board said hot drink & toastie £5.99. Dosnt mention what it excludes. I had purchased a toastie and a mocha to which I was charged separately for £4.49 for the toastie and £3.15 for the mocha. When I questioned it the woman told me that mocha isn't included so I had told them that the exclusion wasn't mentioned on the board to what she replied ok sorry 😐 and they have the cheek to have a tip box 🤔 not deserved in my opinion.

A coffee shop on the upper floor of the Retail Outlet. It is at the opposite end to the food court - so in current covid times it is quieter and easier to social distance if you wish. There are many tables outside as well as inside. A great variety of drinks and snacks are on offer at reasonable prices. On this occasion we both chose the cheese and red onion toasty which was very hot and tasty. My latte was also hot. The staff are friendly and helpful. The tables were being cleared very quickly. A nice place to visit for a snack lunch.

Visited here today (currently sat here now) ordered a cappuccino, double choc chip cookie. The cookie was rather flavourless and a little stale. Checked the packet and it didn’t have a best before date so it could have been sat there for days. The Milk was over heated to the point it smelt and tasted a little funny. Just as though you’d boiled it in a pan for too long. Won’t be visiting again.

Sadly not a good visit today. Service was good and coffe too, however was not impressed with manageress wandering around with mask at half mast straightening up sandwiches in the display cabinet. She then gets herself some soup and sit next to us and slurps it. Having a good pick of her nose when she's finished. Yuk!

I visited the shop after a lovely day of photography in MediaCityUK, it was quite cold and miserable so decided to look for somewhere to enjoy a nice coffee and cake. Was served by a lovely young chap who offered to bring over my order to the table as I was struggling with my bags and equipment. The coffee was very pleasant and would recommend, however, the cake was dry and stale. Would visit again, however would suggest avoiding the cakes.

This is a lovely little cafe and we have visited it many times. My husband and l called in this afternoon with our son and Granddaughter. It was busy but we did manage to find a table. As my husband was near the end of the queue with a tray full of food l asked one of the waitresses very politely if she would clear the table for us..The resentment showed in her face and she moved only some of the plates and went to the back of the cafe,so l removed the rest. The table was really dirty from the last customers so we couldn't put any food on it. l asked for a cloth to clean it and the same young lady gave me a dry piece of blue roll..I then asked for some cleaning fluid so she wet it under the tap..not very hygenic. She was rude and arrogant in her attitude and as a customer I felt very insulted as l thought all my requests were reasonable..Never been treated in this way in this cafe before. A few months ago we visited here and the service was not good. Tables not cleared and on the hot drinks there was an after taste. We visit the Lowry regularly and it always seems busy. So thinking it might have changed we visited today for a drink. First there was an attempt to overcharge . We asked for mint tea, not quite sure what we were served but there was still that aftertaste after taking a drink. Cake ordered was stale ! Left . A waste of £6.99. Def no more chances

Had a cheese and tomato toastie here. Being an optimist, I expected slices of cheese and tomato. Wrong. You know when you’ve grated cheese, put it in your sandwich, and there are a few bits of grated cheese left over that you throw down the sink? Them. And then some tomato paste. Im not kidding. No tomatoes. Just a scrape of paste. It’s like the most disappointing pizza topping you’ve ever had. Between two slices of cheap brown bread. Toasted.

Whilst the hot drinks and toasties we had were nice, I was disappointed to be charged full price for them. When I asked why they were not charged at the offer price for toasty and hot drink, I was told that not all toasties were included in the offer, despite there being no mention of this on neither the offer boards nor the toasties area itself (nor, as I see afterwards, on the website). As I couldn't be bothered getting into a discussion on this, I left feeling ripped-off and will in future be taking my custom to Costa, where I have never had any problems with their offers.

I bought a coffee freezer drink with a sugar-free syrup. I asked before ordering the sugar content of the coffee freezer and the syrup. I was informed that there was no sugar. I am a type 1 diabetic and within 15 minutes my blood sugars starting rapidly. I had no other food so I knew it was definitely the drink. Despite giving myself a large amount of insulin my sugars remained at 20 (four times normal) all afternoon. I telephoned the shop and I asked if lady remembered me and she had. I told her I was a type 1 diabetic and she said you should have told us. This means therefore that the staff cannot be trusted to give the correct the information. Regardless whether or not I am a diabetic if I ask about the sugar content I should be told the truth. Avoid Avoid Avoid

Firstly I must say that I had one of the nicest bacon and brie paninis I have ever tasted here and the coffee is fine. Now, the downside; the staff go about there business but as the customer you never feel that you are important and there is absolutely no urgency. The place needs a switched on manager to take the business from Costa downstairs. On the day of our visit the staff were too busy chatting to each other for comfort. Considering the place has undergone a refurb, the designer wants firing. Its dour and not that welcoming and the spacious outside area is now a kids play zone.

We recently visited the cafe on a trip to Salford for a quick bite to eat. The paninis we had were reasonably nice, however the staff were not at all competent. There was 5 staff in the cafe at the time, and 2 groups in the queue, yet it took far too long for us to be served. The fact the shop was over staffed was not apparent in the level of service it seemed to take two people to operate anything, one person playing with a coffee machine, whilst the person who took the order made the coffee anyway. With so many staff, our order should have been processed within a minute of us entering, and it wasnt for a while after.

I have been coming this cafe for years now but haven't been for the last few months. It has been refurbished well and looks clean and welcoming. Alas where you used to receive a warm welcome this no longer applies. They have copied the chain coffee stores approach of not say no anything to you as a greeting, but merely taking you through a predefined list of questions in robotic style - completed inevitably by the hard sell on items that you don't wish to buy and then telling you where the milk and sugar is m, albeit that it hasn't moved on all of the time I have been coming here. So not only am I now invisible but am also obviously senile too as I need to promoted as to what I wish to buy and cant recall where the milk is located. Also the choice of pre-packaged sandwiches and paninis hasn't changed in years.

The drinks were nice and the music good and varied in genre (Spotify playlist on, displayed on a screen which is a nice touch). However I think we were the first customers of the day and the cakes we were served seemed to have been sitting out all night as they were very dry and tough at the edge - not easy to cut into with the plastic forks we were given. The chocolate orange cake just tasted of cream. The free wifi is a nice touch, and we will be back for drinks, but probably not cakes.

Went here for a coffee. It was disgusting. Tasted like water. We sat outside, had barely been there 2 minutes until a staff member came to tell us, abruptly, "we're closing in 15 minutes", no smile, no polite delivery. With hindsight we should have gone somewhere else but we were in a rush. There are plenty of other cafes, bars, restaurants in the area so go to our of those and avoid here.
