Cumberland in Doncaster

Visited the Cumberland we was massively surprised with the size of the food portions! Great larger choices and the thatchers just hit the spot! Highly recommend! Thank you and see you again soon!

Came in Saturday for a couple of drinks and food with my friends. The atmosphere was amazing, full with people, the music was a vibe and the staff were brill. Food was absolutely delicious, would definitely recommend, we will definitely be calling back very shortly. Thank you for a great night out Cumberland!

Called in on a Sunday day time, didn’t seem too busy, few in the beer garden but not much inside, had 2 meals for £11 (the Sunday deal) absolute bargain greatest values for money

The staff was very helpful and the food was quite tasty . The drink selection is good. Definitely would visit again sometime. If you are near DRI , this is a great place for food and lunch. They have parking available on site as well.

Great Sunday Lunch deal Dinner and a drink £10 you can't go wrong

From a warm, friendly welcoming, accommodated by a chilled, relaxed atmosphere and let's not forget a Steak Delivered to perfection. Compliments to the chef. Best steak of the year so far. Would certainly return to this establishment next time im In the area.

I've eaten here a few times over the years and have to say, this is one of the few pub/ restaurants that I've been to and never had a bad meal. My most recent visit was with some work colleagues. The staff were all great and helpful. The food was lovely, there was just a bit too much of it so I took a doggy bag home with me 😂.

The food here is lovely pub grub but they have some really interesting choices. Service is great and it's nice enough inside. It's a shame I only go after visiting a relative in hospital. Very nice.

Went out as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children under the age of 3 and the meals were priced well. We chose the BOGOF burgers that were part of the menu for a Friday and they did not disappoint! We parked in the car pack and got the money back from our ticket. Just make sure you put enough time on your ticket for how long you will be there :)

Food was good, beer was good, service was good, parking was a nightmare, I had to park at the hospital and that was as bad, shame as I would have liked to return, but parking is just ridiculous, also most people that did park there were walking across the road to attend the hospital.

Came in the other day for drinks and food with some friends and had a great time, we were greeted by friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend! See you soon Cumberland!

Had a family lunch and it was fab! The food and service were brilliant! Staff very friendly!

I have the lamb kofta flatbread tandoori chicken and crown of burgers for the table we was served by vicky with a pleasant smile and made feel very welcome. The food was lovely and enjoyed all and had great portion sizes. Meanwhile we had a great atmosphere while the football was on with great staff. Kenny was great for a few laughs while maintaining professionalism

Been twice recently after physio and the service time is reasonable and the food good quality, if I was to critical, the chicken needs to be thinner so it fits within the sandwich better, all food well cooked

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Good management, always makes you feel welcome. Has good staff . Pleasant surroundings inside and lovely outdoor area.

Went for Sunday lunch as a family of 10 as a treat. From walking in to the pub it was a lovely clean pub. Staff were brilliant but the only disappointment was the food. The beef was fatty chewy, very peppery and you couldn’t cut through it with a fork and knife. The veg was cold. Carrots and runner beans was rock hard and no one in the party couldn’t eat them cos they was rock hard. The mash was either microwave or instant mash. The stuffing balls were dry. The only thing on plate that was nice was the roasties and Yorkshire pud. Very disappointing from us all. But we as a family cannot fault the staff they was friendly and very professional. If this is resolved. We may come again

It's a lovely place to enjoy your day with very good food and drinks. We sit outside because we wanted it to enjoy the weather but they have also nice space inside too. They deserve 5 stars , even more comparing with another pubs/restaurants.

The food and atmosphere is one of the best I’ve been to and the price is about average for a pub/restraunt chain

£3.00 for parking for an hour just to go in for a drink & something to eat, I understand why but should get it back in my opinion after paying £30. Fish and chips not the best I had but my partner had lamb kofta flarbread which she enjoyed.

Good food but smaller portions, items missing from plates and had to ask for them. Some staff need training on customer service.

The most insane piece of fish I've ever had, and I've had A LOT of fish & chips in my life. Everything was yummy, the lemonade was delicious and just what I needed on this very hot day.

Wine glasses given still with water in it, on second attempt glasses was had dishwasher marks. Very accommodating when asked for s change in glasses. Service was slow at the bar when ordering drinks.

Ordered a steak medium rare on the Monday offer, the server Magan was accommodating when I asked to swap the chips for rice, my steak was perfectly cooked couldn’t fault the meal, service was super quick and friendly even though there was only 2 people on

Staff were fab really quick service and really helpful, food was great have been coming here for more than 30 years in fact we had a meal here after our wedding 31years ago.

Food was really tasty, very clean tables, staff are lovely, and the service super quick. Bonus when you need a quick bite between hospital visits. And you get the cost of your parking ticket off the food bill.

The staff really looked after me and my mum today when my car broke down in the car park as I was parking for my mum's hospital appointment. They made sure we were ok, gave my mum a coffee let me stay in a window seat all afternoon and checked I was ok as I waited 5 hrs for the RAC recovery to get to me. Big thank you to the staff.

Had chickpea curry. Very dry and burnt at the bottom. Poor quality.

Having read the reviews we were a bit unsure about the parking here, risk of fines etc. I was taking a family member to the hospital and we’d talked several times about popping in here one day, today was the day. Our plan was to park, get food and a coffee, before an appointment. To me the signs were clear that it was a paid car park. They were on the entrance driving in as well as a several dotted around the car park, and a pay machine right by the door. The pricing info was only next to the payment machines, but that’s okay. I’ve posted pics to help others. Once we’d paid parking it was easy to reclaim inside the pub along with food. cash and cards accepted at the machine - DONT pay by Paybyphone if you want to reclaim. I think my advice is simply: read the instructions. One thing I’m still not sure about is that the sign says you have to give car details inside the pub, but I wasn’t asked for it and the receipt system doesn’t need that, so that part of the signs could be clearer. Max parking time is 4hrs. The staff were friendly - a pleasure. The service was lightning quick. And the fish and chips was tasty. The prices of the food with the 2-for-1 offer you really can’t fault. When I paid for food I simply handed the staff the receipt for £9 parking and it was subtracted from the bill. No hassle, no questions, no issues. I’m sure we’ll be back again. There were only two minor negatives.. 1) the steps up from the car park to the pub need looking at. My mum uses a walking stick and found the first step quite high. 2) outside the pub, walking to the hospital the trees are overgrown so you have to duck under them.

The place was empty and dead when me and my sister went Toilets were clean Tables were clean A staff member was wiping down food menus which was a positive as usually these are abit grim and can see mucky finger prints when you go to places However the food is a let down and over priced. My sister asked for mushrooms and chips. And the mushrooms came in a little poxy pot full of water at the bottom. Clearly tinned. The tikka masala was edible but not amazing. It's obvious why the place was dead. The bar attender however was friendly. Ive visited better places.

We decided to have a meal at the Cumberland on the spur of the moment. The pub was warm and clean. The staff were friendly and efficient and our meal arrived in under 30 minutes. The food itself was good, nicely presented on the plates but unfortunately I have to say that the portion sizes need looking at. To say it was an adult meal (not a pensioners special or a lighter bite) it needs to be increased, my 10 year old grandson could have quite easily cleared the plate!

I have come from Scotland to meet my family who have come up from Northampton. So we chose the Cumberland as it was perfect to bring a baby and had parking. The staff are amazing, friendly and and really down to earth, food is great and a lovely atmosphere. Just a perfect place. Thank you very much!!

Friendly pub restaurant atmosphere friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful. Feel comfortable as a woman going on my own. Mainly go during the daytime rather than the evening. Always feel welcome.

How can a pub belonging to a major chain run out of Sunday lunch 1 hr after opening.. absolutely disgusting...... as a replacement, I ordered the Chicken New Yorker, which consisted of 2bits of chicken breast about 2" square covered in a brown crusty covering which was supposed to be bbq sauce and cheese neither of which were distinguishable, not forgetting the tiny piece of what was supposed to be grilled back bacon but resembled a piece of cardboard........ Will vote with my feet and never return...

I called in this pub to wait while a relative was having a procedure at the hospital across the road. It was very nice both inside and out and had a friendly atmosphere. The drinks were very affordable. I would like to go again in the future to try the food

Called in here for lunch and had the fish, chips and mushy peas which was delicious. Food arrived very quickly and the staff were lovely.
