Culture Coffee in Coleraine

We were visiting north coast for a family occasion with members having flown in from different locations and we were all so looking forward to our Ulster Fry or 'Culture Fry' as they call it on their menu. We were so disappointed - our plates were cold and the food only lukewarm. In particular the soda was tasteless and really bland and stodgy. Sourdough toast wasn't great either and no marmalade on offer at all. On a plus point the flat white coffee and French toast were good but I'd definitely try somewhere else on the main street if you are looking for your fry up !

So...went twice this week. Busy spot a good sign but always got a seat. Food excellent especially pancakes or French toast combinations. Son had the Oreo Milkshake...very satisfying. Coffees is also very good if u like proper coffee. It couldn't do bad coffee and get away with it in Portstewart with so many rivals nearby. Buns/traybake selection is tantalising. Only bit I'm getting to grips with is whether just to jump the que and have 1 party sit at a table...from observations this is what most people do...especially that mid 20s plus age group...u know who I mean. So we followed suit. No point being polite and standing...lol.

This is our go to now in Portstewart and we are yet to be disappointed. We have had breakfast 10/10, lunch 10/10 and coffee with a tray bake 10/10. It’s a busy coffee shop but we’ve always managed to get a seat. Upon ordering you will be told how long the wait is which will help you decide about teas and coffees. Excellent value, fresh food, staff are lovely and they work hard on the floor to keep it clean.

Was our go to spot for coffee and lunch while we were in Portstewart. Service was fantastic and coffee, cake and lunch was top notch. 👍

This place has the best quality coffee I have ever tried in my life. The staff were extremely helpful and was even recommended a new drink that I have stuck to now for some time. A must try for all visiting.

Myself, my husband and 1 1/2 year old went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The cafe was 1/3 full. Hot drinks arrived 5 mins after ordering, great. The cafe then started to get busier. We waited and waited for our food.. 40/45 mins after ordering, our food arrived. By this time, our 1 1/2 year old was completely fed up waiting. I ordered french toast with bacon, scrambled egg and sausage and my husband eggs Benedict with chorizo and avocado. My french toast, egg and bacon were basically cold, the only hot item on the plate was the sausages. Our hot drinks were absolutely freezing by the time our food arrived. This place has the potential to be good, as the decor is lovely and the portions are decent. However, we won't be back anytime soon due to long waiting times with a young child.

You really get your moneys worth here . Fresh ingredients and big portions . They really don't skimp out . As well as friendly staff and great decor it's a must visit

waited nearly 40 mins on food to arrive , it was busy we were in a good mood ! asked about our food assured that it would be out in a few minutes - well we've waited this long! . We asked for our Tea ( Which we got on paying for our order so maybe 30mins or more ago ) and the filled soda to be reheated, as my vegetarian fried still hadn't arrived .... shouldn't have bothered! Then " VEGGIE FRY" appeared but half of it was missing , I wrongly assumed that it was not my order was assured that it was my order, so quick check of items listed on the menu, these were not on my plate. By this stage my husband was less than happy and asked for a refund and we took our business elsewhere . the young waiter gave his apologies ( I told him it was'nt his fault) the baristas avoided eye contact at all costs. we have never asked for a refund or written a review before .had they fest up to not having the ingredients and gave me eggs and toast and some warm tea we would have left happier

Called in to Culture Coffee with my mum & aunt. Right from the get go Jennie came over with menus & was really hospitable especially with my mum & aunt who are getting on in years. We had tea & scones with enough cream, jam & butter to feed half the Spanish Armada if they had managed to land. The food was delicious (ridiculously cheap compared to most coffee shops) & have to say the staff are really awesome. Jennie is not only a fantastic waitress but a beautiful soul. She chatted away to my mum & aunt in such a caring & friendly manner it really made their day.

Excellent coffee and tray bakes are a decent size for the price. Always warm inside at the back, can be a bit drafty at the door. The young gentleman Barista is fantastic at his job. Highly recommend this cafe, have eaten here too and meals are great although just a bit slow at busy times.

Great coffee shop/restaurant. Was there when it was exceptionally busy on New Years Day. Staff very friendly, especially Nicola and the food was excellent. Highly recommend it.

This is a really nice cafe, the menu looks very good. I only had a pastry and a coffee, both were lovely and there was a terrific choice of pastries. The decor is simple, elegant and welcoming. The staff are exceptionally professional and well mannered. I will definitely return here when I am in Portstewart.

I ordered the festive sandwich with gravy but without mayonnaise which sounded good, but was sorely disappointed. The sourdough was toasted so hard that it was almost impossible to cut. The filling was lukewarm and I also bit into a piece of cold meat which I couldn't decide whether it was fat or uncooked turkey. The gravy was also lukewarm. I tried to get the attention of the servers by eyecontact to express my disappointment but they never looked my way so I drank my tea and left a sizeable portion of my food. Certainly won't be recommended this item on the menu although I have eaten here in the past and been satisfied with my choices.

Such a great wee coffee shop that we found out serve great food too. I can recommend the eggs Benedict and my wife enjoyed the breakfast brioche bap. I love a flat white but don’t like it in the traditional glass but the staff were happy to serve it to me in the cup. Friendly and hardworking staff in such a busy location. They layout of the shop mean people entering and queuing up are standing by you table so try get down the back and you’ll be able to dine in peace. I’ll definitely be back

We’ve been to this cafe many times and it’s alway great value and very friendly staff. The staff alway seem to be under pressure due to the popularity.

Popped into culture coffee for brunch after calling in on a previous visit for a takeaway coffee and seeing the great food on diners plates. My plan was to have the avocado and sourdough but unfortunately they had ran out of avocados. Plan b… we ordered two small fry a and swapped out the hash browns and black pudding for an extra egg and mushrooms. This was done easily and the guy taking our order was very pleasant about this. We also ordered a tea with oat milk and a latte both of which were great. The food arrived in fair time, was warm and the eggs were still slightly runny. If I was to be picky I would have preferred them a little more runny and the soda bread to have been toasted/fried a bit longer. All in all I would return. The food was good for what it was and it was nice not to have to cook myself. There is just one toilet which was clean, what more do you need. The cafe is long and narrow but full of charisma. They also have a great selection of tray bakes, cakes and sweet treats that will definitely have you drooling, the challenge will be choosing just one. I can’t comment on these as I have yet to try them.

Wow this is a fabulous place to eat we have been here quite a few times and we have never been disappointed. The staff are young but hats off to who ever trains them as they are all excellent workers, efficient, hard working and pleasent. The food is outstanding with a great choice on the menu. I love this place it would put to shame one of the more established and famous cafes up the street. Culture coffee you show them how to properly provide a service. I would give you 10 stars if it was possible.

Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Wide selection of hot and cold drinks. Wide choice of tasty cakes, buns and tray bakes. Always a bonus when you get a hot drink free with their reward card

Called in here yesterday for lunch with my sister Food was absolutely amazing,super friendly staff and reasonable prices …could not fault that . My only small gripe is that I had lemon meringue but there was very little lemon in it ….saying that it was ok but it only had an extremely fine layer of lemon 🍋……. Whereas my sister had a caramel square and it was the opposite …. The biggest one I have ever seen in any coffee shop ….she said it was awesome I definitely would go back this wouldn’t put me off ….I just would pick something else 😃

Had lunch here recently and whilst it tasted good and everyone enjoyed their meal, it took ages. We were only in for lunch and was expecting a quick enough service. However it took 40 minutes to get a salad and a wrap. If it wasn’t for the slow service I would have really enjoyed the food.

Nice place, great food, nice staff, but the number of people blaring their personal mobiles phones was unbearable, adults, kids, even a toddler blaring a screechy cartoon - cafes and restaurants really need to address this, it is antisocial and ruins other's experience. Hard to find a quiet coffee to sit and read a book anymore. Need antisocial signs up here just like they have on some trains now.
