Nice strong drinks, slow service on the whole. There for an hour and 15, got 2 drinks as it took a while for them to arrive. Then they needed the table back for next booking.

I booked the Den for my birthday drinks and we all had a fab time - such a lovely cosy space ! ✨ Ori was a really friendly and helpful bartender who made some amazing cocktails, will definitely be coming back for a drink in the new year x

My partner hired the Den for her birthday and it was fantastic! We had the wonderful Ori as our bartender for the night - what a talented and lovely fella! Was on it all night, making custom cocktails and chatting our ears off. Owners/manager, if you're reading this, give the man a raise Wonderful atmosphere, about Bristol standard for prices, good location - overall I highly recommend Crying Wolf for anyone looking to throw a modestly sized party

I saw this a few weeks ago and wanted to come in, I was with two blokes who wanted beer, but were persuaded by the gorgeous decor, we had two specialist cocktails, the penicillin and the aquarius, both of which were amazing, and I had a non-alcoholic Pina colada, it was AMAZING, especially for a non-alcoholic drink, it tasted of more-than-just-juice and I thought it was really special. We were so impressed, and I'll definitely come back when I can have something alcoholic.

Best Aviation I’ve ever had (thanks Abby!), hummus plate was to die for, ambiance is always on point, and I’ve saved just about every song playing on Spotify. Consider me a frequent flyer. 🍸

Lovely dark atmosphere, feels cosy and the staff are really quirky. Oh and the drinks are excellent of course.

We had a party down in the Den which was brilliant, great communication in the lead up and a fantastic space. Good options for bar snacks, great cocktails, and they let us order in Pizzarova to feed everyone. Would definitely recommend

Such a cool bar, the barstaff (especially Lexi) are incredible and had such excellent recommendations (Jeffrey's amaretto sour) even on a quiet night it was still such a lovely atmosphere and we will definitely be coming back

Went to Crying Wolf for a 30th birthday. Our bartender for the evening, Bea (apologies if I spelt the name wrong!) was AMAZING!! She has such an insane knowledge of cocktails and was able to make two custom cocktails based on what I’d like and they were amazing! She couldn’t have been more helpful and was the most wonderful host for us. The venue itself is really cosy and lovely, all staff we met were lovely and the decor is beautiful. Would absolutely visit again!

My favourite place for a cocktail in Bristol. Cocktails are delicious, the service is excellent... The thing that really makes this place stand out is that when I'm unsure of what I want, the waiters ask what I like, and then make me something bespoke. Love it!

Lovely atmosphere x Cocktails - not so much ( good if u prefer your drinks lighter) And service was definitely over-attentive with wanting to clear our glasses and get the table back asap (given there were other empty tables service could deffo been more relaxed :0)) PS. We left after three rounds and went to Her Majesty’s Secret Service round the corner — not as fancy, but the cocktails were deffo stronger & with more pinch to it.

I had the most enchanting time in this cozy and warm venue. The vibe was right, the drink were cold, the staff was amazing. Big thanks to David, Dee or maybe Bee, Jaz, Ashley, and the other lovely person I spoke to very briefly. All very efficient and friendly. I asked for a bunch of off the menu cocktails and they were all made to match my high expectations.

Just go if you can. Stop looking at google maps and deciding ‘should I go here or not’. If you want to spend £2.50 on a Wetherspoons purple rain then it’s not your vibe. But if you want to talk to a bartender who knows his stuff about 20 mezcals and will customise an awesome cocktail to your tastes, go here. Most knowledgeable place in Bristol for me and I live near. Will - EPIC mixologist. David, BEST front of house. Lexi - new but lovely. Oh, an extra treat? Buy Will’s coconuts sorbet desert thing. Literally not had yummier in a 3* Michelin (though that could have been the cocktails talking… ) 5* at every point. Thank you for a great night gents. Back soon!

We had some Espresso Martinis and unfortunately they were very disappointing, very watery and in cheap glasses and they were the most expensive drinks we had all weekend. I wouldn’t go back based on our experience.

A truly wonderful community bar

Oh wow! What a bloody gem! If your lucky enough to get in… So book! You can even book down stairs for a private party 🎉 so reasonable it’s untrue! The whole place is full of surprises. This Bar is apparently sister to the Dark horse in Bath. I can see that as that bar I also loved for it charm. And it doesn’t disappoint it’s obviously a secret! Because one wants to get in lol…. It’s beautiful decor, one thinks of an enchanted escape! Dark , enchanting, mysterious one thinks they are on a train to Hog warts…. Of course the cocktails 🍹 are magical & my fave is lethal…. What was it called?…. Am sure it was deliberately magically depleted from one’s memory 🤪 so one is left to question to try another 😜…. Go … it’s a must.., unless of course your a philistine…

Superb little cocktail bar. Very friendly, really glad they found us a table. We had two rounds of cocktails including several classics not on the menu. They couldn't have done better. The off menu Tom Collins, Singapore Sling and Whisky Sour were exceptional.

Great service, really attentive without constantly checking up on you or leaving you too long. They even helped with suggestions and said they could provide off menu drinks if none of the cocktails took our fancy. Great atmosphere, with a mixture of ages. Would highly recommend!

If you are looking for a party venue that fit's around 30-35 people look no further, this is the perfect one! The Den downstairs is a great space with a private bar and plenty of room for socialising. Will and the team were very accommodating and happy to assist with different requests, even making me my own birthday cocktail! Great service all night, highly recommend.

We held our Christmas get-together here, in their private bar (cellar bar), and it was really good. Intimate for limited numbers, with a small bar that was manned by a guy who delivered a whole range of cocktails to please everyone. So very impressed. They provided nibbles that were tasty and well presented. So, in all a good night and a good place. Negative was that the signage outside is not as good as could be, and thus, several people, myself included, walked past the place multiple times before finding the entrance

I can’t truly express just how fantastic this place is. The staff are the most genuine, helpful and talented cocktailmen for miles around. Mike managed to help us with our dinner reservations as well as spoiling us with some of the best quality alcohol you could ask for. Tudo who initially took our booking was amazing, just the most outwardly warm and friendly individual you could hope for, also helping us to some incredible produce We can’t wait to go back and if we could add on more stars we would.

Didn’t think I liked cocktails before going here! Staff are happy to help you choose something or suggest something off the menu. Replaced my friend’s drink when she realised she’d misread the menu and was allergic to one of the ingredients. A nice bar, plus outdoor seating with heaters.

I love my cocktails and like to go off menu a lot, they always know what I mean and always do a cracking job! Its definitely our favorite watering hole in Bristol! Highly recommend. Nice decor and strong music choices but the cocktail menu was thin and fairly generic, with the same brand of gin and whisky being used for almost all cocktails Sadly this made the menu fairly uninspiring. The cocktails themselves were fine but, again, just fine. Overall, it was a decent studenty place but don't believe the hype of the other reviews.

Great drinks, good vibe, amazing staff. Only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is they have the music way too loud for a sat down cocktail place. Makes it very hard to talk to people across the table from you.

Best cocktail bar i've been to since the end of lockdown bar none. Being in the industry I should have known better but turned up a lil tipsy and with a bit of bravado and immediately critiqued the menu in front of our host before ordering off piste. Sam and Mike took it in their stride delivering perfectly mixed drinks with beaming smiles, picked up on my palette incredibly quickly and kept on delivering awesome drinks all the while whilst the place was heaving. 10/10

Incredible service at the place. The staff really know their cocktails. Guto is a fab server. The menu is always excellent but they are more than happy to make anything off list as well. The atmosphere and decor are both great. I highly recommend this place.

I was there on the weekend and I was very impressed when I got to the Crying Wolf. The staff is very polite (and very respectful of covid19 regulations), the cocktails are amazing. I tried one of the original cocktails and it was very good, and the same goes for more typical cocktails that you can still ask for even if they are not on the main menu. I also loved the place, the decor and the atmosphere were different from usual places but overall it was relaxing and cosy. I really recommend Crying Wolf!

One of the best cocktail bars i've been to worldwide, in my opinion. I've travelled alot and been to a huge amount of funky places and bars on pretty much every continent. The crying wolf has something about it. The decor and ambience seems to relax you. The atmosphere is always vibrant, but not too busy. The cocktails are always amazing and different and exciting to try, or thay can make popular ones for you. The staff are always polite, helpful, welcoming, informative and friendly. For the ones I know - Mike, Sam and Guta (the welsh guy - hope I got it right) are fantastic and there cocktails lovely. Karis, Karis, Karis... Star prize goes to you (sorry everybody else). Hats off for making me the best Pina Colada I've every tried.... You are the pied piper of coctails Talking about Pina Colada, the management who has taken this off the menu.... please let's discuss this decision as you just removed 'the best Pina Colada in Bristol' or actually 'the best Pina Colada in the world' from you choices... That's got to be silly right? :-) Other than that, the only thing i'd mention is swapping out the snacks or introducing something new to nibble on, but to be honest, the bar snacks are great. I always leave this place smiling and in a good mood (thats not the alcohol speaking). Thank you.

The cocktails at Crying Wolf will blow you away! Really strong but not overpowering, using syrups made on site and all prepares by a highly skilled mixer. It's such a lovely vibe and feel really homey. Considering you can get on an open bus and it be sweltering hot, they do a great job at making the smaller downstairs room not feel cramped or hot at all. It's lovely and I thoroughly recommend the Three Kings, Dear Prudence, City of Gold and a classic Strawberry Daquiri.

Stumbled across this place towards the end of a night out and what a little gem it is. Quite tucked but very busy on a Friday night but still had a great atmosphere. Whole place had a really cool decor and vibe. Large range of drinks and house cocktails all sourced locally. Staff were really friendly and happy to do anything not on the menu. Guto the bar man was absolutely legendary and definitely made our night!

We had a great experience last week. Our waiter (a Welsh guy whose name I sadly can't remember) was phenomenal, and the drinks were at the very least on par with the service! Don't be scared to go off-menu and tell them what you like, you won't be disappointed.
