Typical town pub. A bit run down and seemed to be the place for younger people rather than us 50+ year olds. Seemed a lot of regulars which is good but you also want to encourage other visitors. Jukebox playing loud drum n bass which we happen to like. Comfy seats in window. Best part was the beautiful dog that kept us company.

Bar people are simply rude if you’re not local.. visited here as we were here for the weekend and literally anyone stood behind me would be served first - as they were known by the bar staff. First bar member in the Hawaiian shirt - I had been stood at the front of the bar right in front of him for 10 minutes, however, he decided to shout across me to his friends behind and serve all their drinks and continued to do this for multiple other “customers” - he had turned the lights off and insisted he’s not serving anymore and when I asked him he started getting aggressive and confrontational. Then to add insult to injury he then poured himself and friends a tonne of drinks and walked out to go party with all the people he served. The other member was obviously high as a kite and bouncing off the walls saying how much he hates working!

Four of us visited here as part of our 'calender crawl' so we were here for looking for some different and unique beers.. I wont keep you in suspense - this definately wasn't the place for that. Nothing at all exceptional at the bar so we were reduced to choosing Worthingtons Best Bitter Creamflow.. The premises as a whole did appear a bit jaded and worse for wear but staff were ok and there was some interesting late 70's to early 80's music being played which at least prompted good conversation basically comparing the voice quality of Elvis and George Michael.. other mentions were available. Graduate stuff I reckon

I also agree that it’s unbelievable how this hole survives, but after visiting it and witnessing drug dealing taking place in the supposedly garden that is in fact a back yard, I suspect it earns its money from other motives. The locals have no purpose in life but to sit alone all day and get wasted. We didn’t try the food if there was any at all. Once you are out of Ross On Wye town centre it is beautiful, and the best pub we found was the man of Ross.

A rough feel to the place. Dirty worn and lots of swearing locals. Lots of flys in the bar area too. Stella was ok and reasonable.

Called in for a quick drink. There were a few people in who all seemed to be locals together. Good priced drinks.

Nice interior, updating appears to be going on but this did not affect our visit. Staff friendly, food was fresh, tasty and wait time for it was ideal. We had the jacket potatoes and were the best we had tasted in a while. Excellent value for money. The menu is not extensive but enough variety.

Had a meal around the corner from this pub and noticed they had a live band on so called in. Had an excellent night with the mainly local people so friendly. What a blast the band was fantastic. If Im in Ross again we will definitely be making a B line to the Crown & Sceptre

I went to order a coffee at 5:55pm this evening. The female barista greeted me by saying “for f*ck sake” because she clearly didn’t want to serve me so late in the day. I told her not to bother and stated I’d spend my money elsewhere. Shockingly appalling service.

We stayed here overnight and booked the restaurant for our evening meal. Lovely staff, in a lovely surrounding. It’s a shame it was dark so we couldn’t see the views. Nice selection of starters, mains and desserts and we managed to enjoy all three. In the morning, the breakfast menu was plentiful and the sausage and bacon from a local butcher were very tasty.

Pleasant and efficient service. Good value food with plenty of variety on the menu and a well stocked bar. Also dog friendly.
