Been here today for late lunch what can I say other than outstanding. The food was served quickly and the service was excellent - particularly a member of staff called Simon who really made us both feel welcome and our dogs loved him :) The value was amazing and to have 30% off made it even better We will be back as I’ve heard Sunday lunch is a must! Thanks so much

Another A M A Z I N G dinner at my favourite pub in Shrewsbury. We arrived from Edinburgh to visit our daughter… and headed straight to Cole Tap for their super delicious Steak Pie and great choice of beer. And, despite we’d not been down for over a month, the super amazing Michaela remembered which beer I wanted and what we typically ordered. They make it a great night. Don’t come here if you don’t like great food and a great night out !

Great location and great food Popped in due to hearing so much about it through friends and I can see why really didn't disappoint The pub is beautiful inside and very cosy. The staff were extremely attentive and the service was really on par with some of the great restaurants in London we have eaten in. Our server I think was a manager called Simon who couldn't do enough for us. Our twins particularly liked him as he showed them with not only crayons to colour but a little sticker each. We will definitely be returning when we are back in town next year 🙌

Got charged a parking fine yet saw no signs as the car park is pitch black, nothing as you walk in and the staff said nothing. Disgraceful you can’t even contest the fine and the response from them is it’s your responsibility and tough look. Well if you didn’t see signs or not told by staff then that’s a terrible attitude. Avoid and go to the other amazing pubs in the town who want your custom.

Visited with a couple of friends, we were made very welcome, great atmosphere, lovely and warm, ice cold wine and delicious food. Don’t need to say any more! If you want a lovely pub, with parking and a beer garden looking across the river towards Shrewsbury quarry then this is the place to go!

Avoid the food.Sausage,mash and greens.Sausage skins tough and overcooked and beans unable to chew.Either over or undercooked. So unfortunate the outside setting is good

Fabulous pub found while we were visiting Shrewsbury for a few days. It was a short walk from our hotel and situated on the river. All the staff, especially Simon, were friendly and welcoming so we returned every night we were there. The food was lovely and the service great. Would highly recommend and hope to return.

We went for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint . The presentation was spot on and taste was amazing. We had 2 mixed roasts and a children’s beef and was very filling. Best roast in Shrewsbury served by Simon who couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you team coleham tap we will be back for sure x

Lovely friendly pub, great decor and outlook over river is stunnng, with beautiful outside surroundings made for lovely afternoon. Had cauliflower florets and Mac , husband and daughter had burgers looked very yummy( had food envy ) all in all great value. Many thanks guys.

Called in on the off chance to get Sunday Lunch and was served by Mitch who was professional throughout and the best bar man around. I have to say the potatoes were particularly nice and just how I like them.

I went for a Friday evening drink with the Mrs a few weeks ago and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to come go back again for dinner. The food quality is definitely a cut above your average pub, the ambience cosy and family-friendly, and the service is accommodating. Also, I suspect they make their own pesto as it's far nicer than anything I've had from a shop, and the ribeye steak was done just as I'd asked, so bonus points from me.

Have eaten a few times at The Coleham Tap, but first time for a Sunday lunch. Service was friendly and prompt and the pub had a nice Sunday afternoon vibe; busy and inviting. We were a mix of adults and children, and there was a decent selection on the menu. There were a couple of vegetarians in our group, and there were three choices available for them, from the Sunday lunch menu. Everyone was more than happy with the food, and it was a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The pub had a lovely welcoming feel to it on a cold January afternoon, and we will be definitely be back. Nice to have such a well run pub nearby.

Used to go here when this was still called the Crown & really liked it. Went a few days ago with my family & ordered a simple Jacket Potato with Prawns in Maryrose Sauce, which was £8.25... very pricey for a Jacket Potatoe, but I figured at the price it would be extra good. Alas no, it was incredibly dry, if there was any butter on it I couldn't find it, there were about 5 Prawns on it, if that & the Sauce was nowhere to be seen. When I asked about the sauce I was told that it was on there! They brought me some sauce which didn't really help as it was the wateriest Maryrose Sauce I've ever had! I could make way better at home at a fraction of the cost. At the prices they now charge here you'd think they could at least hire a Chef that can cook something as simple & easy as a Jacket potato. My family weren't particularly impressed with what they got for the cost either. When I told one of the staff all they said was "I'll tell the chef." Not even an apology. Will not be going here again.

Well, what a transformation! Years ago I used to come here, and enjoy a nice, friendly, family atmosphere until.it was under different management and, to be honest, rapidly went down the pan in my opinion. I stopped going, along with many. Watching the refurbishment and work going into the place, under new management and morphing from.being The Crown, Coleham into The Coleham Tap gave me hope for the.pub anf the community. Last night I ventured forth for my dinner, taking my 30% off mains voucher with me. We hadn't booked and there were obviously groups in, but they warned us of a 30 minute wait for food, which was ok by us. What a transformation, tasteful, clean, well designed interior and decor and, at last, a revamp.for the loos! Once again, the pub had risen, like a phoenix from the ashes to become the vibrant, safe, inviting place it once was. Well done!!👏👏👏 The place was buzzing, fire roaring, food very tasty, even better with the 30% off! Will we be back? You bet! Don't forget to put your numberplate details on at the bar!

Unfortunately, I cannot actually comment on the food or drink at The Coleham Tap, as we didn’t actually get that far! I Booked a table for two, online, on the website on the 21st November. Easy to do and the confirmation came through immediately. I Was very much looking forward to catching up with my friend, for some festive food and drink. I Arrived at 7.20pm on the 30th November for our table at 7.30pm and it didn’t get off to a great start because the car park was full. Due to double yellow lines, I then had to park quite distance away. Not the pub’s fault, but worth bearing in mind if you plan to visit! On entering the pub, I spoke to a man at the bar, quite possibly the manager, who told me, very abruptly that I couldn’t have booked a table as they were full with Christmas parties. I explained that I had received confirmation of my booking and showed it to him. He was quite unapologetic and basically said I should have received a cancellation email. He said when you book online, you may get confirmation, but then you will get a cancellation afterwards if they’re full! Really? Whilst there was one table left in the restaurant last night, he said the kitchen was too busy to cater for the two of us. After leaving the venue, I checked my emails and found that at 6pm on the evening of our booking, I did have a cancellation email. That was 9 days after originally booking the table! I was really looking forward to trying out the ‘new Coleham Tap’, but after this experience and the rudeness and unsympathetic nature of the staff member, I will sadly not be returning. I wonder how many other people they have done this to?!

I'll keep this relatively brief as people don't read waffle :-) Really impressed with this place on a first time visit this evening. Lovely atmosphere, food was great, the decoration is spot on, fire was roaring, bathrooms were spotless and it seems very well run indeed. Well done, will definitely be back!

We love the Coleham Tap. It’s a great Riverside Pub and in our opinion, taking everything into account, the best in Shrewsbury and the surrounding area. Service is always excellent and engaging and the food is good - especially the chips. Pizzas are also very good. It’s great outdoors in the summer and cosy inside in the winter. It’s an incredibly well run establishment.

Really lovely pub, great staff and food was lovely, really reccomend it. Was a nice place to get a quick bite to eat, great value for money. Will definitely be returning in the future.

I kind of agree with most of the positive reviews, but there is a huge negative for me, although easily fixable. When they renamed it the Coleham Tap, I imagined a decent selection of craft beers and Lagers, but was very surprised to only have a choice of one ale (Sunbeam I think ?) which wasn’t very good. There are some wonderful Ales in Shropshire, and if this continues to be the only choice it will certainly reduce the potential of what is otherwise a terrific pub.

This pub gas undergone a refurbishment recently but although there have been many changes it has retained all the charm it always had. A really nice place to be if the sun is shining. Friendly but polite staff. Clean furnishings and nice food and good choice of beers.

Fully renovated and beautiful location on the River Severn. We had a fabulous dinner with friends, sitting outside overlooking the river as the sun went down. It's a very friendly pub with lots of outdoor space. Highly recommended

Lovely venue, recently refurbished. Didn’t stay to eat as it’s a very ‘family friendly’ pub but a bit hard on the ears if you are child orientated, or like them all running around the tables.
