Great food, good selection for whole family. Good quality and generous portions. Staff very pleasant. Decor clean and up to date. Shame they are being hit by the closure of the bridge as we had a lovely meal - the venue should be buzzing on a Friday night.

We had such a lovely time at The Crown last week, the place was very busy yet the staff were very efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was really excellent, the chicken skewer starters were really good and the lamb shank was truly special, the chefs are outstanding. I have no doubt that we will be back soon, thank you to everyone there.

Hubby and I ordered from the main dinner menu. I went for the Fish and Chip Supper and my husband ordered the Ribeye Steak. I have to say the quality of the fish in the battered cod was better than our local chipper, and that takes some beating! Service was on point too. Alana and Tom advised us well on wine choices and were the perfect hosts. We will certainly be returning.

We went to The Crown for Lunch for my Mother in Laws 75th Birthday. We had a great time, my Mother in Law loved it. The Lady was super helpful, really polite, attentive and nothing seemed too much trouble. I really liked the White Bait and the Goats Cheese Salad. We all had a really good time. I love the decor and the layout, and the place just has a really nice feel about it. We will definitely go back again.

Went for lunch with my (adult) son and sat outside. The garden and furniture look great after the refurbishment. It did need it though! The service was good and the waitress did enquire after we had finished whether everything was okay. I had to inform her that my cheese and pickle sandwich was not good at all. The bread was very dry and close to being stale. The cheese and pickle were okay, but certainyl nothing better than I could have knocked up in a couple of minutes at home. The chips were very nice and the staff all very friendly and polite. My son's chicken and avacado sandwich was fine

Was planning on going here with some friends for a birthday lunch but after getting verbally abused by a member of staff for using the car park, we decided to go to the Kings Arms instead! We weren’t even given a chance to say we were only popping to the shop in the high street to buy some birthday candies! There are so many other nice pubs in the area so won’t be making a trip back here anytime soon!!

We chose to stay at the Crown because it was my father's (and my dog's!) local for many, many years, so being back there was a bittersweet occasion. I had been somewhat alarmed by previous reviews but now find them astonishing compared to our own experience. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean, the staff we encountered (I assume the landlord and landlady) were exceptionally helpful and the breakfast was very good indeed. Throw in all the memories and it all added up to a wonderful stay.

Cracking little pub with the most comfortable sofas we’ve been to today! Friendly staff and family friendly! Cookham’s pub of the day!

Stopped with a friend for coffee. Sat outside due to regulations. It seemed quite busy for mid afternoon. Service was friendly but a bit slow - only one server, but the coffeer eventually arrived and it was very good. A good spot for a drink or meal.

Absolutely awful service, there were times when we had to repeat ourselves because the staff didn't even bother to acknowledge what we said. We arrived and someone had an allergy, I mistakenly said no to the allergy question and within moments corrected myself only to be told in a curt tone...I just asked you that. Then there was no explanation to say that they would need to go through some question before we could order, instead Sally just said, I know you are waiting il be back. A little while later she again mumbled "i know you are waiting. A bit of context would have been super helpful. Finally when she came she showed us two tablets where we had to sign to state we understood the terms and conditions of dining there with an allergy. Never in my life have I been made to feel as though I'm a wrongun for dining with a child with allergy. Now they were busy but there is no excuse for the Absolutely disgraceful experience we received, my nephew asked where the straws were and recieved an abrupt "just go around there". He came back to the table mortified and asked his grandmother to come with him. It was like this throughout, as though they couldn't be bothered to talk to us. Waited ages to order the desert, then again when we asked for the bill half way through he conversation she walked to an empty table to pick up rubbish before coming back to us to settle up. By this point the lunch time rush had completely died down. Absolutely disgusted and please don't bother responding with the standard reply of we will feed this back to the team, or this isn't our standard, because when it mattered, it was your standard and clearly your team did not care.

Really great pizza that doesn’t make you feel like crap afterwards, like you get with Dominos. Clean place, fresh ingredients, good cheese, hot. Really good pizza.

My friends & I have been eating here regularly for years now - I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Indian or Nepalese cuisine (a good selection of really tasty dishes, good value and catering for different levels of spicy 'heat') and they're serving some more 'traditional' pub fare again now, too. They know how to look after their ales and have a selection of lagers, plus cider and all the usual drinks you'd expect to find in a pub. The staff are great - friendly & helpful, get to know their regulars and I've lost count of the number of times that I've just been thinking that "I ought to go and order food" when, as if by magic, someone will appear to take my order. The place is divided into separate 'restaurant' and 'pub' sections, with a good-sized beer garden in front, so you can pick your preferred setting for food &/or drink. There's a decent car park in front, too, with free parking for customers.
