Walked to here from the truck stop, well worth the walk staff very pleasant food excellent and a nice clean pub with a very warm atmosphere, made to feel very welcome. Came here because the swan opposite the truck stop refused to do food at 19.55 on a Monday night. Thank you to the staff at the crown you've got my custom in future and will recommend you to other drivers, Regards, Syd harper.

We went for food and it was amazing, both starters and mains. There wasn't a long wait for the food to come out and it tasted lovely. The pub itself was very clean and the seating was just right as in you are not squashed up. All in all the experience was great

You get a warm welcome as soon as you walk in. Staff look to help you offering meal suggestions and allergy advice. I love coming to this pub as they also allow furry friends, so nice to see.

I asked for something different and the staff were very helpful. The gluten-free menu was extensive, although they had run out of steak! Very friendly staff and so welcoming to the dogs too!

Wow what an excellent pub this is, visited Saturday night I was served by Katie whome I think is the manager. She was friendly welcoming and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had a lovely mixed grill. My wife had a fish n chips. Both were really good value for money. Will definitely be returning.

A Visit to The Crown I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Crown with my wife, Victoria, who, as many of you know, works in one of London’s leading hospitals. After a long week, we were looking forward to a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and The Crown certainly delivered. The pub’s name may be The Crown, but don’t worry—I can assure you, there's nothing royal about the prices! (Cue the groans). But seriously, the service was excellent, the food hearty, and the ambiance just right. It reminded me of the kind of place my dad, who was a toolmaker, would take me to on weekends when I was young—good, honest, no-nonsense. It’s a place for everyone, whether you’re looking to catch up with friends or simply relax after a busy day. I highly recommend It. Sir Keir Starmer

We have been visiting the crown over the past few years, we travel from the Birmingham area where we meet our friends from Worcester. The meals are very good in deed and would recommend the crown.

The pub Is lovely, service is fast and polite. However, running out of Yorkshire puddings on a Sunday and still letting me order extra isn't up to standard! They'd also ran out of beef! It was only 1330. The size of the portion wasn't big enough either, although what did arrive was very tasty.

Lovely pub. The standard pub food was plentiful, tasty and arrived quickly; plus the staff were friendly and very helpful. Lacked a bit of atmosphere but that’s only because there weren’t many people in that night. It was our first time but won’t be our last, we feel that we’ve found a real gem.

Sunday Lunch with visiting family members in very relaxed, attractive and cosy environment. The food was excellent, reasonably priced, with generous proportions. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

Great Breakfast, Great Service and Free Pool !

Even after the "modernisation" it was dark and dreary in there. The food was "pubgrub". I was going to have the sirloin, but when i asked if it would be pan fried, I was told that is grilled (therefore a rare steak burnt to give a charcoal effect, thus destroying the true taste of rare steak). The cod and chips got a big thumbs up. The cheese cake was not to the guest's taste. Only one ale available and that was "Pedigree", which isn't an acceptable ale in our opinions. The Gents' toilet was clean but again dark.

Staff really friendly and welcoming, food was served quickly but with good quality. Overall really nice pub would recommend to anyone.

Six in our party had an evening meal at the Crown at Wychbold. The vsrious meals were all very enjoyable by all, and so was the service for the meals, and the drinks. The one down side was a little cloudy wainwright beer that no one picked it up on only the drinker, hence the 4 star on service. Would I recommend the Crown Yes.

The staff were welcoming and polite and pur table was ready when we arrived. We had a delicious meal that was served promptly and piping hot. The only small criticism is that the carrots on the child’s menu were a little ‘bendy’ 😂 There was a lovely atmosphere which made it a very enjoyable occasion.

Thursday pub quiz night with Jack is pure gold! It’s like a pub quiz version of 'Have I Got News for You,' but with more pints and less Paxman. Jack’s trivia questions are spot-on, offering a great range from easy-peasy to delightfully challenging. The pub itself is cozy, with great beer and a lively crowd. Win the quiz, and you snag a £50 bar tab for food and drink.

Staff are great - Jade and Meg are an absolute delight. Recommend the chicken and bacon salad! The pub quiz on a Thursday is loads of fun and Jack the quiz master is great.

We come here every now and then for a bike ride and a meal but are now weekly visitors thanks to Jack and the fantastic pub quiz. The energy and fun he brings makes the quiz worthwhile every week!

Had steak well done peas mushrooms and tomato burnt. Mushrooms after eating a couple saw they were discoloured. Complained to waitress she took the meal away after chasing her. Went back to her after hearing nothing she went to chef and she returned stating manufacturer's issue and had thrown a batch away.I asked why serve it to me got no response asked for manager Phobe who went to see chef and returned in seconds stating nothing wrong with them. She then offered a round of drinks and a desert. I asked why 2 different stories fro8m the chef couldn't answer. I said I would take it up with your head office. I am not happy that I potentially have eaten unfit food.

Always a lovely visit, the food is always delicious and reasonably priced as well.

Our 2nd visit to the Crown and enjoyed our Sunday lunch time meals,my 17 year old grandson said best burger he's had in a long time,staff very friendly and welcoming.

Stayed on friday 26 july overnight. On arrival pleasant young lady explained 2 of the 3 rooms we had booked were ready. We had booked early check in as we had a wedding at 12. They accommodated us with keys for each room and many apologies for third room not being ready- early check in was 12 though so not worried at all. Returned early hours of saturday to lovely clean rooms and a good nights sleep interrupted by noisy family around 7 am. Went for a delicious english breakfast accompanied by cereals and pastry excellent value at £35 for 4 including hot drinks. Checked out at 11 am. Would highly recommend

Great place nice food and ale's

The large garden area is really nice in the good weather. Service was quick and efficient just before noon on a Sunday. The food is basic but it does the job and tastes good.

You need to have the food available that's advertised or at least let the customer know at the time of ordering if you can't fulfil the order. When people order something they expect what has been advertised not a slim down version of it missing half the ingredients. When questioned staff just shrug and say we didn't have it. My son wanted a fruit salad, he ended up simply with a bowl of Pineapple. A little girl ordered a strawberry sundae, she had a very drab looking scoop of ice-cream with half a strawberry on top. It's lacklustre. If you don't have the ingredients offer an alternative or give the money back promptly. One lady was waiting half an hour whilst her refund was being discussed with a manager. My husband came out with a bad stomach, he thought his Yorkshire pudding had been fried or reheated in old oil. It was a really quiet Sunday afternoon, I can't understand why it was so bad.

First impression on entering was that the whole place was extremely clean and fresh looking. Very friendly and informative bar staff. Competitively priced drinks and the £2 for a double on the gin worked a treat 😁. Will definitely return.

Our favourite pub! Food is always great, service is stellar and we’ve now become regulars of the pub quiz on Thursdays hosted by the charismatic Jack - Quizmaster! Quiz night combined with steak night makes it unmissable. Highly recommend. Pop by and see if you can beat us at the quiz - no one else has so far.

Lovely lunch lots of options but limited if you are a vegan/vegetarian. Such good food and a cosy and classy atmosphere. Service was good no problems there.

Nicely set out pub & hotel. Breakfast was great but meals were poor. We paid over £90 for 2 adults & 4 kids to eat. Food was well overdone. It looked like they had been cooked too long or oil hadn’t been changed. Both waffles & chicken nuggets were dark brown. Bread on the burgers looked over toasted also. Staff were great. Served us well. But downstairs rooms smelled of mould masked with air fresheners.

Very disappointed really , family meal for fathers day. I asked for my steak to be very well done. It was 16oz served as two steaks . One I would say was medium the other was still squealing on the plate. We were never asked if all was OK but at the end I told the girl that I asked for well done but got raw, she just said "oh " no sorry about that. Disappointing really

Everything about the pub is fantastic I would highly recommend to anybody passing through wychbold, the dinners are lovely! The chef is brilliant and the pub is just all round 10/10

We haven’t visited for ages and it was a real pleasure. The venue is immaculate and the food was great; generous portions, dressed beautifully and very fresh! The service was superb. Katie is a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. She has a doggy menu too. Definitely worth a visit. We will be bringing our 4 legged baby next time too! Thank you Katie 🙏🏼

Room was good with really comfortable bed. Dinner was a great burger with a gluten free bun. Breakfast was OK. I suspect the sausage was not gluten free as I felt unwell about 2 hours later. Only disappointment is the vinyl in the bathroom is detaching from the walls. This is bad workmanship so I hope Marstons get the contractor back to install properly.

Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat for lunch, the service was excellent and the food came out quickly, perfectly cooked and nicely presented, we had the 5 grazers for £20 a bargain price and very filling, We then had a pint of Guinness and black and a pint of San Miguel, both were chilled and very refreshing. Served by Becky who was friendly and bubbly and very helpful. Great experience, Will pop in more often.

Absolutely not a good pub for food ordered chicken burger was given beef that’s was raw took it back and given a second beef burger after telling them chicken and again it was raw yes they refunded me and offered a free drink or dessert but since eaten there I’ve been ill never go there again

Booked a table for a special birthday celebration and we were told that there were no mixed grills available even though half our party wanted them. We chose the rump steaks and surf & turfs instead and the rump steaks were over cooked and not how we asked, extremely chewy, very disappointing considering this was meant to be a birthday celebration. Nobody liked the fact the burgers were served in “dog bowls” as my mother put it and just felt very disappointed in the over portions of the meals and quality of how they were cooked. Personally wouldn’t recommend coming here to anyone and we live in Wychbold also! Not the best at all and not member of staff came over at all to ask how our meals were and if everything was ok. Poor overall

Nice pub ,food great. But I don't agree with dogs in the eating area. Perhaps I'll ask for a dog free part next time

The food was mediocre, the chips were underdone slightly and the lasagne could have been grilled to make it crispy, ordered fish and chips had a small handful of chips with the big fish - just out of proportion, had the Christmas dinner here as well was really poor for the price however the bar and serving staff were lovely and attentive

We stayed overnight- room was a bit claustrophobic with no window, only roof lights and shower wasn't the best, but otherwise fine. Had dinner and breakfast and both were very good.

Really nice staff. Meal was very nice, had Gammon. Just 2 of us. Chose the the special deal. We were surprised we had to wait quite a few minutes for our meal. Staff made up with looking after us, jam sponge and custard was delicious.. Definitely going again.

Have stayed at The Crown, Wychbold a few times, and have never been disappointed. Our last visit was the 12th April, and we were greeted with a very warm welcome from Katy. She was new to the Crown, but nothing phased her on getting on with the job of being extremely friendly and welcoming. She couldn't do enough for my husband and myself. At breakfast time, she was there again with her cheerful smile and helping us with our breakfast. Hopefully Katy will still be there at The Crown when we return in September. Katy certainly has the right frame of mind when it comes to hospitality. Hope you give her the recognition she deserves.

Brannagh is the best barmaid I have came across in a while; she is polite, accommodating and made our experience exceptional. I will be back purely based on my experience with her!

Overnight stay to break our journey south. Made to feel very welcome. Efficient check in and easy to access the room. Pub and public areas all very clean. Good selection of drinks and coffee. Food was very good and well cooked, we had the burger deal including a drink for just over £11. Excellent full English breakfast before we left. Would certainly stay again and recommend for anyone looking to stay in the area or break their journey.

Booked table for 4 people was special occasions we use pub alot so thought would be ideal for celebration got to pub sun 21/4/24 at 1.30 ordered drinks 2 pints and bottle of wine only to find out at that was no sunday roast left very disappointed as Sunday roast is great shocked that there was none left at 1.30 so had drinks and left

They were very busy at our time of visit but food came quite quickly. No cauliflower cheese sides available as short staffed. My husband and I both ordered the roast beef but it was very tough to cut or chew. Ended up on bringing meat home for dogs. Rest of the food was fine

Service was efficient and polite, food was enjoyable and toilets were clean. The visit was made extra nice by being able to get a reduction using my blue light card, made me feel appreciated.

Fantastic fresh food all came out at once for a table of 17. Starters and mains. Been going to the crown for some time now and it’s always been a great place to be.

Really disappointed and quite appalled to be honest... when we checked in and got to our room, we were met with an untidy mess with hair all over the bathroom wall by the shower and in the shower too!! Not to to mention the terrible service when we ordered food too! It was incredibibly slow about an hours wait and was dry and cold by the time it arrived. Seriously not worth it at all! Then to end the night off, we had one of the worst nights sleep whilst another guest was shouting their lungs out over the phone to somebody in the next room. Talk about no respect for people trying to sleep but the worst thing was nothing was done about it! Nobody came up and adressed the situation, told the person to leave or anything. We have stayed here before and it wasn't anything like this... we had a good stay with great service too last time so i don't understand. I'm sorry but i'm ashamed to say that this time was one of the worst experiences if not the worst i've ever had in a hotel. Would not recommend.
