Crowborough Spice in Wealden

I have tried their food on quite a few occasions now,and every time I was very pleased with the vegan dishes I had. Quality is consistent,the service friendly. I have recommended this place to other friends too, and they all loved the food as well. I particularly like the variety of vegan dishes on offer.

Amazing food! All you can eat on Sunday and they do half portions if you want to try a couple of dishes. Very accommodating and kids had a great meal as well.

Terrible, do not order takeaways from here! After an hour we called, out for delivery we were told so would be 10-15 minutes. An hour passed and nothing, and cannot get them on the phone after calling 154 times! Disgusted

After being recommended by a friend to try a new restaurant in Crowborough we rang up to make a take away order. After speaking to a very unhelpful lady on the phone and being told our order would be 30 minutes until ready for collection we realised we had made a mistake with our order. We rang back to explain this and were spoken rudely down the phone to, then hung up on. The actual words were we don’t need you anyway!!. What a way to speak to your customers. I will certainly never try this so called restaurant again, and will ensure my friends and any one I know never go there.

We went for their special Sunday lunch - so much choice and 7such good value for money and absolutely delicious ! Thank you !

Great food great service, restaurant was full but no wait . Perfect service professional and friendly. Proper napkins which I liked! Will return.

The food was delicious and well presented We asked for smaller dishes so we could try a variety of their different food (which they were happy to do so ......no questions asked) The staff were very polite and friendly Fantastic amount of food and wide variety of dishes to choice from Excellent value Will be visiting again

Usual great quality freshly cooked food, the chefs will adjust and make the food to suit the clients taste, always a good sign of customer care. All the staff are polite and friendly, only been open for a few months under new management but always go out of their way to make it a great night. The live music tribute nights are literally sold out as soon as they are advertised, if you’re in or near Crowborough, it’s definitely the go to restaurant.

Patience is a virtue and it was tested last Sunday at Crowborough Spice. I booked for a family dinner at 6:30pm and we got there on time. And we left at 9:10pm because of long delays. we were not alone as other people dining experienced the same long delays. From having our stater to our main course we waited 2 hours and 27 minutes. No apologies from the staff were given. I am all for supporting local businesses but not when service and food are pretty bad. I did have years ago a very bad experience where I had food poisoning from Crowborough Spice. I never went back until last Sunday as I wanted to give them another try since they have been advertising on their refurbishment and new deals. But apart of the long wait their food was skimpy with lots of sauce and veg and just 5 tiny pieces of meat on each dish. All creamy dishes were extremely sweet and tasted the same. I am pretty sure many of you love Crowborough Spice but I am not one of them. Also be aware that papadums are not part of their £14.95 deal of eat anything from the menu. We were never told that. Nevertheless, it was our last visit and we won’t be going back. Sorry, Rose of Bengal for not being faithful 😃.

We enjoyed our meal here. The food was pretty good and the young waiter was really excellent, attentive and pleasant throughout.

Have visited twice since the new owners have taken over (Sunday banquet) and found the food and service to be excellent. The Rose of Bengal has serious competition! Beer cold and fresh, served in clean posh glasses. Will certainly return.

Been a loyal customer for the last year, really disappointed with the customer service on our last takeaway order- both our garlic naans were missed & when we rang to let them know were refused re-delivery and was spoken to rather rudely. Such a shame because the food tastes lovely and have never had an issue before! Looks like we will have to take our custom elsewhere :(

It has to be said the food is delicious but the service almost non existent. Ate here with friends. Pre booked and arrived 7.30, finished our poppadoms and had to ask if the young lady would take our food order. Despite being the only people there food eventually arrived at 9pm! asked for a 2nd round of drinks twice then waited 15 mins for them to arrive. Seems they are more interested in the takeaway side of things and the poor waitress was trying to do it all on her own, but didn't help herself by chatting loudly with local friends ( ripe language too I might add, not pleasant to listen to the 4 letter words when trying to have a nice meal with friends!) service so poor we didn't feel it justified a tip, which is a first for us, but we all agreed on that. Sadly will not be returning! They need to decide to either get more staff to run busy takeaway side separately, or to stop taking bookings to eat in! Empty on a Friday night? Says it all really!

Fantastic family meal, great service, fantastic food. Restaurant was busy with dine in and takeaway deliveries. This is now our Indian Restaurant of choice.

Amazing, fresh food! Great atmosphere for kids. Brilliant for sitting in and service was impeccable! So impressed with the taste and experience!

Fantastic food all round. Do go and eat in though it’s so much better. Great atmosphere and air conditioned. Very reasonable prices too. Go and try and eat in :-)

We tried this place when it was the Borothi and the food was bland and pretty dull. Its since changed hands and called Crowborough Spice and we had one of the best curry's we've had in a while. The poppadoms where light and grease free, curry was just spicy, freshly cooked and still hot when we started eating it. Will definitely use again!
