A nice big Pub, we were there after mid-day so not much action but it should be nie in the evening

Sensational food good range of drinks

I've been going to this pub for 20 years through multiple managements. It is now by the far the best it has ever been. The food is very good especially the burgers. There is a wide range of lager and spirits, the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's good to see it thriving. Definitely worth a visit.

Almost never serving food. I used to come in here all the time but it's 50/50 wether we will be able to order food or not. Even on an assumingly easy day as wing Wednesday. Pints are normally fine but recently not availible or poor quality and flat. Very poor no/low alcohol choices and often out of stock. Not a pub worth traveling to, there's plenty of other good choices in Basset.

Been here several times over the past few months for what they advertise as "Wing Wednesday", however, every time they seemed to be overwhelmed by what seems to be a normal amount of customers and have to stop serving food as "the kitchen can't handle it". Also on remembrance Sunday when one would assume a slightly higher volume of customers they were again overwhelmed and not capable of serving food. The customer service also leaves much to be desired as when my friend Beans asked for a Guinness, he was rudely instructed to observe the glass atop the Guinness pump as he should have known this indicted there was no Guinness. Needless to we shall NEVER be crossing the threshold of this bellow par public house. I would not recommend going here.

Came here for a bottomless brunch and the staff (Emily, Amy and the rest of the bar/kitchen team) were faultless, constantly provided with drinks and for the whole party was served together and hot. Excellent service!

Amazing bar staff really gd venue and good pool table out of the way

No bitter. No guinness. Really loud annoying sound of tables being rubbed down with an electric sander for 2 hours. No allocated parking for motorcycles. Don't bother visiting.

Went for a bottomless brunch as an end of term treat for a group of teachers… it was absolutely fantastic. Our server, Amy went above and beyond for us! The food was excellent and the drinks flowed freely 🤣 all the staff there are brilliant

We had a great time today, celebrating the end of the school year with a bottomless brunch. Amy looked after us brilliantly and made us feel very welcome.

Dinner with my brother, I've enjoyed eating here over the last couple of years, but yesterday I was very underwhelmed. the food was absolutely fine in itself, but the portions were terrible as was the presentation barely any salad in the burger and about 4 pieces of cauliflower for 7.50! and not even so much as a salad garnish and a very small amount of fries. This really needs addressing, as with the prices being comparative with other pubs in the area I feel I'd now go elsewhere, which is a shame as it's a really great place with lovely staff.

Was slightly concerned / sceptical of the food at bottomless bring and it was “fine” without being amazing but one of the staff was an absolute GAME CHANGER. Short haired lady; don’t know her name but she was a BRILLIANT host, friendly, fun and made a great one liner joke about the salt. We attended with a slight expectation of the bottomless brunch being rubbish but she made it work. Will definitely rebook because of the service. Would recommend 10/10

Visited on Carnival Day, very busy, expectedly! Limited menu, understandably and prices were quite high. A great atmosphere in the run-up to the carnival procession, unfortunately disturbed by a large family of travellers whose children were running around creating chaos and pulling decorations off the walls, throwing bangers around in crowded areas, annoying punters. Eventually spoken to by a member of staff and they left shortly afterwards. Great, friendly bar staff, fast service too, especially a bar worker with short dark hair, another with long pulled back hair and glasses. Really friendly, great customer service. A great place!

Awesome chatacter pub. Alot larger inside than seems outside. Pool table and plenty of pleasant inside and outside seating. Great bar venue, with plenty of drinks on tap!

Coming from up North I was shocked at prices visited to watch a football match was a good atmosphere

Pleasantly surprised. Popped in for a beer, food looked so good we ordered some. Proper chicken wings with bags of flavour. Guinness took an age to pour because they took so much care over it. Would be there all the time if we were local.

My wife and I went here for an impromptu meal whilst in the town. I Went to the bar where there was group of men effing and blinding loudly which was a bit intimidating but I ordered a share plate and two coffees anyway , the price was £27 so not a cheap deal. The coffees eventually arrived cold so I took them back, the waiter apologised saying he was distracted and brought us two more. Meanwhile I spotted a used positive covid test left on the table near the menus! We quickly changed tables and told the waiter who took it away. We waited a further 20 - 30 minutes for our food which looked good but in reality, for £20 was less than average in quality. Anyway, having already paid, we ate what we could and left. Doubt we'll visit again anytime in this lifetime.

Me and the partner went for a meal and enjoyed it very much. The pub was very busy but we still got served very quickly. The food was very good and came out hot and quickly I would definitely recommend to my friends and I'll be going back soon

Amazing place love it here, really well run

Screens near each table means conversation is hard work when football is on. You have to order at the bar and can't open a tab which was frustrating when in a group. The "locals" in there were swearing (the C word came out a few times). Wouldn't return.

There were a decent selection of drinks and there was a a decent atmosphere in the pub.

Friendly staff but a long wait for food .

12 of us ate here for Christmas brunch/lunch, most of us chose the sourdough sub filled rolls to which we were told there were only a few left. When they came out they were baked hard and were like large hotdog r olls, (you could snap them) nothing like the menu. 3 people also experienced dodgy stomachs that night from the steak/cheese 'cheesey joe' subs which came out in wraps as had no sub rolls left. Very disappointed with the food, Will be eating elsewhere in future.

Worst Christmas food ever I had. Regrettably, the Christmas meal I had was a let down. The nachos were overly sweet, the chicken wings seemed to lack any meat, and the burgers were dry and overcooked. The pudding was particularly disappointing, too. Paying 30 pounds for such a meal left me feeling unwell. I won't be returning to this place anytime soon. It's a shame that they're serving such poor-quality Christmas dinners

Rugby in the snug bar, lively atmosphere, loads of customers for a weekday evening. Quick service, good beer selection.

Terrible food but friendly clean pub with good atmosphere. Just not worth eating at. Ordered Coli wings that came burnt on the outside and raw in the centre that were absolutely disgusting. Also ordered Mac and Cheese with a £2.50 upgrade. The upgrade was missing Guac, mayo and Jalapenos. So payed £2.50 for essentially some sauce.

Sports bar with food. Craft ales and ciders. Tasty burgers and big screens. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere, casual place.

Fairly standard pub. Food was filling if mundane, was the only one that served lunch at the time we rocked up into town. Has a good sized beer garden but TVs for the ashes was not working out there

Arrived at what seemed like a nice pub whilst travelling, went to the bar to be told they weren’t doing food - despite food being brought out of the kitchen. No apology, no signage to explain, total waste of time. Poor atmosphere, rude staff. Avoid.

First time here with a group of six friends. Nice pub, flagstone floors and a large beer garden. We wanted to eat and had booked a table, but by all accounts the regular chef was off, with a trainee in his/her place. The menu was therefore very disappointing with no proper meals, but a more fast food offering of burgers, pizzas, chips, halloumi sticks, chicken wings and a few other bits and pieces. I opted for the bacon and cheese burger with fries, it was ok, two decent burgers in the bun, a piece of streaky bacon and a melted piece of cheese along with a generous portion of fries. It filled the hole but a proper, non fast food meal would have been better and was what we'd expected. Beer was fine, service ok.

Their melt burger is one of tbe best burgers I have ever eaten and the Doom bar is a great pint. Friendly staff too.

I the hamburger is really nice. The atmosphere of the place is cool, lots of different people there. Options of beer is also nice. You can order directly from your phone. Staff was very friendly, and even with the kitchen closed, they accepted our food order. I will be back!!

Been here a few nights recently atmosphere is good and nice food

Awful!! I booked a table for 2:30 for 5 on Sunday 5th March. There wasn’t a table ready for our reservation, which wasn’t great. We then sat and chose what we wanted to eat to be told at the bar they were no longer taking any food orders! I was pretty much accused of lying about my reservation that I had made the day before. I had confirmation in an email on my phone for them to see but they weren’t interested. Horrible experience, I would never go back or recommend this place.

The pub looks lovely and had a great atmosphere. We walked in at 7:20. Went up to order about 10 mins later and was told kitchen closed at 7:30. The menu (in my opinion) has far too many hot/ spicy options anyway. I wouldn't visit again for food because of that.

Brilliant establishment...in these difficult cost of living times less than a tenner for a pint and a chicken wrap was terrific value

Nice enough pub with lots of space, but at over £5 for a pint, prices were a little high, particularly as we had been drinking at the hotel over the road and paying £4. Nice that dogs were made welcome.

Probably the worst nachos ever. The simplest of snacks messed up completely. Two ingredients missing from the plate. No jalapeño and no rocket. If I were you don't bother.
