What a fantastic pub! Such a warm and friendly welcome, with fantastic food and a great atmosphere.

Didn't have a room, just a Sunday Dinner. Booked a table for 4 in advance with 1 needing disabled access. Couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and accommodating. Good service throughout and excellent food. Thanks to all at Cross Keys.

We had a very nice meal here with friends. The shared starter platter was a lovely way to get a bit of everything and we all enjoyed our main courses

Only had food here, very average ,lots of carrots!!!!!!over priced .

We had a great evening meal and a couple of drinks at The Cross Keys. The staff were all so friendly and the food was great!

The welcome was good and because we had booked, our table was laid and ready. The food was good quality pub food being excellently cooked and presented. The offering of a children's menu was good and everyone enjoyed their meals. The food was good but parking the car is an issue, especially when the pub is fully booked.

Well decorated rooms and has a local and welcoming feeling, the staff are so kind and welcoming, making us feel like a regular customer even on our first visit. Brilliant location as there is a great camping site nearby, too.

A definite must for beers and food when you're having a ride out in the countryside. Locals love this place and the lady owner is very friendly and helpful

I've given 1 star as there was nowhere to put, we never went there. We had a booking which we had to cancel. So I'm not sure why we've been asked for a review as we didn't even go through the doors!

Just been for a birthday meal. First time here, will definitely not be the last. Food was gorgeous. Had the panang curry. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Just finished lunch here👌 I had a hot beef sandwhich and fab home made chips beef was beautiful! My partner had Sausage and mash which was amazing yo. Lovely clean pub staff are super friendly, definitely will be back.👌

Yes did return, from our last visit, however this time was a fleeting visit, me and my wife called at approximately 1.30pm on Saturday 18th of February 2024 while touring in the Area in our motorhome, I had the chicken curry and chips and my wife had the hot beef sandwich and chips, and a couple of drinks, all for under Thirty quid meals were delicious, wife thought the chips were from out of this world, quite when we 1st went in, only a couple of tables occupied, then a party of about 20 women ramblers landed, didn't bother us, creates a bit of harmless lively atmosphere if nothing else, shall return.

We always have such a wonderful time; the food is absolutely delicious and the service is caring and impeccable!

First of all, if you want to eat here you MUST have an advance reservation. In June of 2023 my daughter and I walked in at 7:30PM on a Thursday evening and asked for a table for two. The young girl behind the bar asked if we had a reservation, to which we said, "no." The whole pub went quiet while everyone listened in on our conversation. She said that we could come back at 8PM if we wanted to. There was an empty table close to the bar, and we asked if we could have that one. She said, "no, that table is for the bar." So we left. IF she had said, you are welcome to sit and have a drink while you wait, it would have been nice. Undaunted, we called and made a reservation for four for Sunday lunch. We arrived and were seated and had a very nice, gluten free lunch. The food was good. Our table reservation was a 12 noon. As we sat and chatted after lunch, we were asked to vacate the table as another sitting would begin at 1:30PM. So we moved to the bar. On my way to the bathroom, I peeked into the dining room, and guess what, our table was empty. Nice place, nice food, mostly staffed by young girls who need more training.

Called for lunch before visiting at stanhope hospital. Very freindly welcome from walking in the door . Had a nice chat with i presume the owner and staff service with a smile throughout. Food was great cooked fresh to order with good portion,s will call again when in area

I've really wanted to pop in here for Sunday lunch for quite a while. So my expectations were high and - I'm happy to say - exceeded. The staff are friendly & efficient and their Sunday lunches are traditional, tasty and generous. You're having a good meal in nice surroundings and it all feels very homely. It's a bit of a drive for me to get there but it's a treat and well worth it.

Beautiful little pub. We had a meal on a Saturday lunchtime and ordered from one of two menus. Good variety of food available and the home made burgers we had were delicious. Good value and good service, we will be going there again.

We stayed here doing the Coast to coast and it was perfect in every way. The staff, service, food, room etc there was nothing to complain about. A very friendly home from home atmosphere

Some of the staff were nice - but wouldn't recommend it if you want to eat, or drink, or park, as all of these were a problem

Great food, very friendly helpful staff, very good quality ales and lagers all in really beautiful countryside. A very good travelling stop, certainly worth a visit.
