We visit here as a family every week and have never been disappointed ⭐️ Walk through the door to a lovely open fire Always such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything has a real homemade taste to it. Perfect size portions, homemade crispy chips and generous side salads. My partner and father in law alway chose the steak, cooked to perfection every time. A must visit place if you are in the area

Lovely traditional pub/ restaurant, warm friendly atmosphere, roaring fire on a cold night. Food is tasty, portions are good. Puddings are lovely traditional style, (syrup sponge and custard is the best!!) make sure you leave enough room for pudding!!! Food is freshly cooked so don’t expect microwave fast food here.

Second review , wouldn’t have done this as the food was just as excellent as our last visit . However , I got a van stuck on the grass at the side of the pub car park , rear wheels spinning & I’m going nowhere on a Sunday afternoon . Went in the pub to explain , landlord puts his coat on and comes out , hooks his 4x4 to the front of my van and pulls us out , no fuss ... fantastic .

On our way home after our holiday near Fishguard, we dropped by for lunch. Both of us had the homemade chicken, ham and leek pie which came with a choice of potatoes (chips, jacket or new) and vegetables (carrots, broccoli and peas). It was delicious and we both left content and well fed. Gorgeous pub in a fantastic, scenic setting. Friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

Menu is a fairly standard pub menu, staff are very friendly and service is quite efficient. Food was tasty and plentiful - no complaints, pleasant atmosphere.

Driven past many times decided to give it a go. We went mothers day for a meal as a family, very impressed nice roaring fire as you go in. Had a nice pint of lager or two with the meal which was very nice and very filling, should not of had a starter and then the steak. Definitely no room for desert, will be back :).

Cosy room with a friendly welcome. I will defiantly be going back. In fact not sure if I should be writing this as I don't want it to get so busy I can't get in as it is quite small😊

If you want good food at a good price then this is the place to visit. Warm friendly atmosphere, all the staff are easy to get along with. The food is cooked to order, none of this pre-cooked and warmed up later stuff. If you're in the area then make a point of calling, if you're not in the area then it's worth the journey. Traditional pub with traditional food.

This is a place we visit regularly and whilst eateries come and go in the village of Llansantffraid this place has earned it's reputation over a great many years. Wonderful in the winter with a cosy atmosphere and roaring fire with a beautiful situation to sit outside in the summer. Food quality is consistent with all possible ingredients sourced locally - even their own garden! We have many visitors who come especially to enjoy the varied menu on offer. It is a testament to the place that you can see the same faces time and time again.

Recently had dinner at the Cross Keys and was very impressed by the meal that we had. I opted for their specials which included mussels as a starter followed by a steak mains. The chips were delicious. Make sure you have a good appetite because the starters were big! The location may not be to everyones taste as it is located next to the main road so although you can sit outside it is not the most picturesque view. That said, the quality of the food & the friendly service more than make up for things. I have oftem driven past the Cross Keys and I now wonder why I have not been there before.

We had been meaning to go here for some time, and we did on a Tuesday dinner time about 6pm. A good number of people in which was encouraging. Friendly welcome and we sat by the main road in a quite private seat. We ordered the grill de luxe and tadka dal each, keema nan and chips. The grill de luxe was missing the prawns and we had extra chicken tikka ordered to bump it up a bit more. The chips came out in a small bowl and looked like a mini version of a chip, greasy and not enough for two. The nan bread was dry and had been burnt in parts. Tadka dal was rather bland. The guys are lovely and friendly but it's not enough I'm afraid. There are another two Indian restaurants in Newtown which are faultless in their food. I think there's was a baby's birthday going on on the other side of the restaurant and they played happy birthday and brought out a cake with sparklers which was a lovely touch. No we didn't say anything at the time as they were so charming, which these days is actually a big plus point.
