Crosby Lakeside in Sefton

No comimos aquí durante unos 18 meses y ¡qué diferencia! Tuvimos un almuerzo ligero de sándwich y papas fritas. El pan no estaba fresco, el pavo era pavo, no pechuga en rodajas, las patatas fritas apenas estaban calientes y parecían recalentadas, estaban tan secas. Sin embargo, la ensalada era muy fresca. El personal era muy agradable. La comida de los niños también era apenas tibia y las pepitas de pollo eran grises por dentro, no blancas, por lo que se dejaron. Las bebidas estaban bien. Té caliente En resumen, no volvería a comer allí. Solo estábamos nosotros y otro grupo de tres allí, así que no exigimos un chef. Muy mala comida de calidad y decepcionante.

Had a lovely meal here with my friend . She's vegetarian and was delighted it was on menu . Meals were yummy and..reasonably priced. Staff were pleasant and looked after us well . Would recommend moment a visit ..situated right by the boating lake too

Me and a few of the ladies came for food and a couple of drinks. The waiter, had an amazing sense of humour and kept us giggling onto a second bottle of wine. I had the Scampi which was lovely and went perfectly with the Pinot Grigiot!Would definitely recommend to others, will definitely be coming back! Especially if my new friend is in!

Dropped in for a pot of tea and some cake, excellent. Nicely served, friendly service and a nice outlook onto the lake.

Lovely place to go, nice pint, lovely food and young kid on bar very helpful and pleasant. Nothing to much trouble even if he busy.

Yesterday we had our mothers funeral wake in the lakeside bistro and I’ve got to say what a fantastic job they from beginning to the late end with no rushing us out Libby who was wonderful and could not do enough for us with a smile all day plus all the staff including the lovely chef who came to see us they worked so hard to make our day perfect. They set up the restaurant beautifully in white linen and the hot and cold buffet was fantastic plenty for everyone the Scouse was great which was lovely Liverpool reminder for our family and friends to had traveled from Canada, Spain, Jersey,Lincolnshire and all over London. 5 star to yourselves fabulous from beginning to end and made the day so easy for us at this difficult time. Fui a almorzar hoy con mi esposo, ha pasado un tiempo desde mi primera visita al bistró de Lakeside y tengo que decir que el tamaño de la porción y la calidad de la comida es muy pobre y cara. Pedimos fish & chips 9. 50 scampi & chips 8. La factura del 95 y dos copas llegó a 27. 50. La comida parecía haber sido tirada en el plato y en porciones muy pequeñas. La camarera fue muy eficiente y el servicio fue rápido, esta fue la razón de mi calificación de 1 * de lo contrario habría sido 0. No volveremos a visitar

Un poco preocupado por la última revisión y aún un poco preocupado: ¡hora del almuerzo y solo 4 personas! Espero que no sea habitual. El lugar es excelente, no estoy seguro de que me gusten las luces de techo navideñas: hace que una arquitectura muy nítida parezca barata. Las persianas que están a la mitad de las ventanas lo hacen más oscuro. Día soleado sí día oscuro no. Café bueno y el personal está bien, pero es joven y carece de dirección (un poco más viejo tiene experiencia. Fueron encantadores pero no un servicio nítido. Realmente espero que no esté en un resbalón hacia abajo.

Fui a almorzar con la familia, incluyendo un niño de 12 meses y 14 años que es un usuario de silla de ruedas y no tuvo problemas para entrar al edificio. . La comida era deliciosa y el servicio muy bueno. El lugar es impecable y hay muchos lugares para sentarse. Todos teníamos cosas diferentes para comer y todos estaban felices con su comida. Definitivamente vamos de nuevo.

After visiting the beach and having a brisk sunny walk, where better to come for a coffee and egg muffin. Staff were helpful and service was very prompt. The views from the bistro are stunning.

Had our Christmas night out again from work at the Crosby Lakeside and have to say - not as good as last year and agree with reviewer over how hard the turkey wrapped in ham was - it was inedible - i wrapped it up and took it home for the dog - looked good but totally overcooked.

Have been here a few times for Christmas doo with friends. Always had a great time. This year was terrible though- so disappointing. The main course was inedible, hard; the wine included with the price of the meal was like vinegar.

I have always been a supporter of this fine located bistro in the past but on a recent visit yesterday, for lunch, it showed me just how much this establishment has deteriorated since my last visit some time ago. The place was almost empty with around four tables occupied not busy yet the service was poor. There appeared to be no organisation with the young people serving, no manager in attendance to instruct them or keep them in order. They spent time chatting and generally not interested in Customer service in any shape or form. The food is cooked remotely and sent down to them so all they have to do is serve it as quickly as possible instead of talking with their colleagues. This bistro will suffer greatly if this continues and it requires a strong management structure to be implemented as soon as possible otherwise the customers will vote with their feet.

I had lunch here with my parents and sister. We were greeted, given menus and a table with views across the lake and sand dunes. The dining room is clean and warm and filled with light from big windows. The menu offers a good selection of sandwiches and burgers. Brunch is served until 11.30 and there were also specials including scouse and red cabbage. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and we really enjoyed our freshly made sandwiches - good bread and a side salad with a nice dressing. The prices are very reasonable too. We will be back to sample the scouse.

We have been here several times before, having walked from the RNLI Station, we stop for lunch!

We were looking forward to our lunch as we were visiting the area with friends .... but were really surprised by the changes to the place. The serving team did hang around the counter area - previously there was someone to meet and greet which was a nice welcome. The service was quite reasonable and the waiting staff were polite in dealing with the public

Have visited several times since my last review and each time the food and service was very good.

Myself and friend had sandwiches chips and garlic bread with s cup of coffee each. Sandwiches and chips beautiful garlic bread a little dry. Coffees great but bit disappointed to find they had no mayonnaise left. Staff attentive and friendly.

On arrival Menu was soiled & dirty all three of them, we had to ask staff to clean table.

Bar staff more concerned with chatting amongst themselves than serving customers. I got the impression I should have been grateful they were there. The lunchtime menu was very limited to ovepriced soup or a sandwich.

Decided to have lunch here yesterday, loved this place great food, friendly staff, fab setting, but what a disappointment! as soon as I saw the mess on the empty tables I knew something was wrong, dirty tables some with dirty dishes still on them, had a hard time finding a clean empty table, in fact there wasn’t one, sat down anyway to look at the menu, and it’s changed, doorstop sandwich’s err no thank you, and £9 for a chicken caesar salad, we walked straight out the door to find an other restaurant!

We ordered two ham salad salad sandwiches after being told the kitchen was having work done on it, we actually got ham sandwiches with a bit of salad on the side which consisted of one slice of tomato which had to be cut in half if you wonted tomato on both sides of your sandwich and some lettuce and chopped up cucumber the ham was very wet and rubbery very over priced for what we got will not be going back

Stayed here June for Aintree races and Craig David concert.

Attended a wedding here this week. Stayed over the weekend. Could not fault it one bit. Staff were amazing from start to finish. Deffinatley reccomend to future visitors.

We visited today and sat outside. The only free table was filthy was used cutlery and glasses etc. The waiter walked past and ignored the messy table several times. I had to go inside and break up a conversation between about 4 staff behind the bar and ask if the table could be cleaned. One waiter came out and took away a few glasses leaving most of the mess. We waited a few minutes and he didn't return so we left.

Would not recommend this place. We waited an hour and a half for some fish and chips and a simple gnocchi arrabiata. As we got up to leave the

Great service, lovely atmosphere and location. Enjoyed the food, catered for everyone. Big portions, well cooked, we have been there several times and have always had a great experience. Staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend.

We went to a freinds evening of a wedding in February.

Party of 9 booked the Christmas Party Night out - included 3 course meal, glass of bucks fizz and glass of red or white wine with your meal and super Disco.

Been many times and done previous reviews and today was a simple coffee and snack> Great place lovely location even on a freezing day! Has lost its crispness and service not as good as a couple of years ago. The guy who was probably in charge then really held it togetehr and it was super smart and efficient. Today not quite as good - slower and not a crisp service. Still good and still lovely as were the staff but "not quite"

We have been here a few tomes and it’s normally very good for a drink and a bite to eat. Today was far from the normal standard. After waiting ages to order the meals took a while to arrive which the waitress apologised for. The chip were cold and the bacon was cold. She took the cold food away promising more to replace it. Eventually the cold meal was replaced and I was promised my chips were on the way. 20 minutes later after finishing all the food and drinks there was still no sign of the chips. During this time another couple sat down waited and then gave up and left.

We went for a birthday lunch at the bistro. They have a new winter menu with great choice of food. The staff were brilliant both in welcoming us to the bistro and checking all was okay with our food. The main thing for us was no background noise so we could relax and enjoy our conversation. Not many catering facilities have this so huge thank you and overall score of 5 stars.

Popular place for good lunch food or breakfasts. Clean modern interior, with welcoming staff and a choice of places to sit indoors or out on the decking, overlooking the Marina. Menu has just changed for the winter. I can recommend the tasty Scouse with pickled cabbage. Food is well priced, and care taken with presentation. Really friendly people working there.

I recently jointed the gym at the lakeside and it was rather scary for me as I have a 17 week old baby so I asked for a train plan to be done. I turned up on the night and the person I was booked in with was off and a lovely gent called Tom said he could help he is also a PT he had only just that second finished teaching a class and I could see he had been working hard but he gave me an hour of his time and helped me with my plan. Not only did he do research to see what exercises I could do with only just giving birth he also didn't mind joining in with me and made me feel as ease. Thanks Tom

food is ok nothing amazing and service is ok too. the best selling point of this place is it's location - even better on a nice hot summer day!

Food was superb with plenty available (bar-b-q menu). Accommodated all dietary requirements and flexible on additions to the menu.

Saturday lunch, not that busy. Had to wait about 10 minutes in a queue at the bar. Staff were just busy making coffees. I only wanted a glass of wine. Then same again when wanting another drink. Small gripe and staff were working hard and really polite etc, just hate waiting.

So the location of the restaurant is great, next to the Lake in Crosby, with an indoor eating area and a large outside decked Patio.

We were directed to the bistro from the promenade,and having already walked 3 miles, walked a further mile to reach it. We are in our 60s,and not in the best of health, and needed a cuppa, a sit down and the toilets.

Lovely views from the bistro across Crosby Marina and On a sunny day you can sit outside. Plenty of seating and a decent choice of menu. Food is good and presented very well and tasted lovely. Will visit again.

What a little gem on a nice day to sit outside and have a snack or drink in very pleasant surrounding. Area by the side for children car park and just a nice pleasant place to be after a walk on the beach not five minutes away food good middle range prices and really pleasant staff

The bistro has plenty of seating and high chairs available. The food is good and to a high standard. There are great views of the lake and the activities taking place on it

Walked round the lake after looking at 'Another Place' on the beach an decided to drop in for a coffee.

Called in after a walk around the lake. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and our three light lunches were all excellent. Great views over the lake. We would highly recommend a visit

Turned up at 3pm to do some paddle boarding with my girlfriend. Asked at the desk and they said I had to wait for "John" to come back from "getting food". Who, as we turned up, overheard us and then get off quickly. Waited 40 minutes and no sign, asked at the desk and "John" was the only person who could do it through the till, and was quickly dismissed by every single member of staff working there. As we left though, we saw "John" walking around the park nearby by himself with headphones in. What an absolute disgrace of a place, never coming back!!

After a little over site with our booking our family were set up in our own private function room. I was a little apprehensive but I need not of worried. We had our own personal waiter / waitress who were very attentive. Lovely food & service. We love it here & today was made all the more special by the team. A special thank you to Jack. I would highly recommend a visit & to top it off the surroundings are beautiful.

First impressions are ok. Then the lunchtime menu arrives. It's unimaginative, bland and devoid of character. The food lives up to the same standards as well. Boys had fish and chips. Greasy and a touch undercooked. Ploughmans salad was way below average as well. Redeeming features include the setting and the coffee. I'm not sure of it was an off day in the kitchens.

Me and my partner both had salmon ceaser salad it was ok but frozen salmon was dissapointing was dry and not grilled ....my daughter had cheesy pasta she said its nice but not as good as wetherspoons overall nice staffeven tho it was busy think i would of but put a good 4 and half stars if the salmon would of been fresh...

I have visited Crosby Lakeside on many occasions now and I can honestly say the food and staff are both amazing. The menu doesn't have a great deal of choice but what it does have is all cooked fresh and at reasonable prices. The drinks are very reasonable too and the view on a summers day is beautiful as are the sunsets, you could almost be abroad the sunsets are that spectacular.

Called in for a drink before our walk around the beach. The setting is very beautiful and the prices are extremely reasonable. Only thing looked a bit understaffed as was a sunny Sunday. Regardless would definitely recommend calling in for a drink if your at Crosby Beach.

So I'd first of all like to say thank you to the manager at the lakeside, (tall, slim, dark haired guy) we have agreed wth him that we can come here with our dogs and have a little area outside.

Visited with adult family. We were served by a few different waitresses/waiter and the waitresses were very pleasant and helpful however the waiter was very lethargic. The food was pleasant if not a bit plain but it was a good price. The orange juice was also out of a carton and not freshly squeezed which I was disappointed by. There is an outside decking area where you can sit however you then have to order everything at the bar. It's a nice place to visit if you're going for a walk around the Crosby marine lake for a light meal or a drink outside.

As the organiser of my families (49 of us) Easter Lunch I was hoping that everything would go ok...it went brilliantly. I was praised and thanked by all my family on ensuring our Easter Sunday was a huge success however In all honesty the praise should go to the Manager Ciara and her team,especially Libby, who were incredibly lovely and did everything possible to ensure we had a fantastic time, the food and service could not have been better, the restaurant was spotless the food excellent and the attitude of everyone we came into contact with was so helpful and accommodating a genuinely fantastic experience, I just hope the powers that be in Sefton Council appreciate just lucky they are to have Ciara and her team on board.

Before we booked, one of our party inquired about gluten free meals and was told that it was not a problem and they would be happy to accommodate.

Thank you so much for your hospitality shown to us today. It's a great place for us to meet up after our walk with the dogs for drinks and food.

We arrived late security man more than helpful had a great sleep, breakfast superb. Would go again. My daughter said gym was good.

HUGE THANK YOU to all the staff at Crosby Lakeside for hosting our Bichon Walk for Service, X-service and PAT dogs and for those in training! Everyone was extremely impressed by the warm welcome and the service they recieved and the absolutley LOVELY staff. I cannot recommend this centre enough. Great food, lovely cakes(!), Fabulous wine, beautiful surroundings and lovely staff. We will be back for food and drinks soon! Perfect venue for a party also! Thank you

Nice setting near beach and water sports lake. Part of complex, parking fee irritating but they refund with meal purchase. Food ok, we had Traditional Scouse and Fish and Chips but service was very student , no interest in bringing menus, taking orders, or bringing bill Lots of servers for number of customers but it is Council run so a sort of Liverpool social welfare programme. Could be much better. . ,

We called in here after dropping our daughter back at university.It was a surprising find.There was plenty of car parking which was charged but you can re claim with your food bill.The surroundings were modern and clean.The menu fine.We had fish and chips, and a burger with blue cheese.The fish was moist, fresh and well cooked.The burger was gorgeous, cooked to perfection , served with good chips.It cost us £18 for 2 mains and a pot of tea.We enjoyed the view of the lake and then walked down to the beach to see the Gormley men.Lovely, just give it a go

Arrived for Friday Lunch, there were roughly a dozen people in there with 2 or 3 staff. Acknowledged when we arrived, but stood around for 5 mins waiting to be shown to a table,in the end we sat down, and had to hunt for menu's. Food was very ordinary, and warmed to order. Service was abysmal with staff happier texting each other. Drinks did not fare much better. £12 a head for a "pie and a pint" pricey too, and to add insult to injury you have to pay for parking.

Called in for an afternoon coffee...ended up with two lukewarm cappucinos on a dirty tray. Staff do not seem overly bothered about anything or anybody.

My first visit to Lakeside was hugely underwhelming. Visited on a Monday for lunch with my family and the restaurant was fairly empty. We took a table to the right of the bar to stay out of the way with the pram so we didnt take advantage of the view from the windows. The restaurant was very warm.....

We had a very good lunch, with several different choices all of which managed to arrive at the same time always an achievement. Attentive staff and no pressure to rush from the table.

Our first visit and won't be the last. Great friendly staff , great food / service / Nice views of the lake and water sports area. Great stopping place for people who are visiting the Gormley men or just visiting the area.

Maybe eaten here 20 times over the past five years. Consistently good- never had cause to complain. Well staffed, food arrived promptly and fantastic views from the windows. 5 stars if they would add some specials occasionally or put some more salads/seafood on the menu. It's a little bit too deepfryer-centric. That said, I had fish and chips for lunch the other day: it was fresh, arrived within 10 minutes and was delicious.

This restaurant is by Crosby Marina and so has a pleasant view Staff are friendly and efficient and food is good.

Visited with a old very infirm friend and when someone has difficulty walking the steps - short route are difficult but there is a brilliant slope - but thats a lot of walking!! Now who will come up with an answer to get to the front door. Really I am joking but is a serious point about all disabled access. Now to the serious bit. Eating here is always a pleasure. Things going on all around so plenty to look at. Well maintained and very clean bistro and of course a very good - new - menu. Everything perfect as previous.

We visited here today when at the marina and what a little gem it was! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. They definitely have their 'attention to detail' down to a fine art and the restaurant was so clean. The food is very reasonably priced too. We will definitely be back.

recently had a great breakfast here, very clean place, fresh interior, good service from the staff there, and good fresh food served to perfection... a great start to our fantastic day ......well done lakeside10/10, will visit here again.

Visited recently for lunch. I have been here previously not long after it had opened and didn't think much of the food. However, I decided to give it another go as a family member recommended it. I was not disappointed, I ordered the smoked mackerel & potato salad which was very nice, enhanced with a perfectly cooked poached egg on top. I will have to return to try an evening meal. Also the staff where friendly and efficient.

Party of 14 attended for a family meal. I will start this review by saying the food was lovely and we received all our correct food orders ! We left feeling happy and well fed!!

The food here has really improved. PleAsed to be positive as this place is an amazing resource for the community and it's a lost opportunity if the food isn't good. Bring back the breakfasts - we used to come all the time it was great

The Lakeside was a pleasant surprise. Excellent location ( especially in the bar when there's a sunset). Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Our room was spacious & well appointed and breakfast was good too.

I feel a bit mean giving this a score of 3/5 but that's to reflect the fact that I was here on business rather than holiday and I think the facilities are better suited to residential/holiday type breaks.

We were a party of 12 sitting at lunch and much looking forward to a tasty treat. The starters and the sweets were delicious, as was the coffee afterwards. About half of us had the beef and most of us left some: it was just too much hard work cutting up the slices.

Called in by chance for lunch before our walk - It was busy but we were lucky to get a table on the front overlooking the lake.

I love sitting by the windows here watching the weather and the birds on the lake. The food is lovely and service is either excellent or very good. Would rate it higher if there was more choice for vegan or vegetarian but other than that I'd confidently recommend it to anybody

What a brilliant venue for our friends' wedding celebration. Lovely food, brilliant atmosphere in a beautiful venue. We stayed overnight in the hotel part. The rooms are lovely, very comfy beds and spacious rooms with a fully adapted bathroom for anyone with disabilities. Everywhere is fully accessible. Highly recommended, then beautiful walks to cure that morning after feeling!

Had our wedding at Crosby lakeside yesterday it was a truly amazing day . Big thank you to Terry and all the staff who made our day special. We eat and drink at lakeside often and food is always good would recommend it to anyone. Thank you again for everything big pat on the backs for you all.

Stopped going as often when the menu was changed last year and the baguettes were taken off but was delighted earlier this week when they had reinstated their lovely baguettes. We had a really enjoyable lunch and look forward to going again very soon. Val

This place could be so much more, visited on a sunny day and the service was abysmal waiting 40 minutes to order and then another hour for the food. I gave up on the coffee after waiting 15 minutes.

Six of us visited for my dad's 83rd birthday but we waited car too long for our meals with the excuse that because one starter was ordered, the meals were delayed because they only start cooking them 'fresh' once the starter plates had been removed. We waited 10-15 minutes for the soup bowl to be removed and then approx 45 mins for the mains!! My husband's roast was awful with two pieces of frazzled gammon. The price of 4 soft drinks was removed from the bill but we won't return as the menu left a lot to be desired and my daughter just had soup because Carbonara is only served on Saturdays!!

Visited this lovely place without reservation. The staff were warm and friendly and the food was lovely. We totally recommend but you. Do usually need to book in advance

Nice an pleasant. Service and staff were ok , Roast Turkey Dinner was very good with thick cuts of meat,roast potatoes (could of done with a few more), cabbage & mash plus baby sweetcorns and carrots, broccoli , peas and a jug of gravy, Views out onto th lake were very good. Lemon Roulade for pudding which had ice cream in it instead of cream, a bit on the small side for me be went down well. Then down to Burbo Bank to people watch. Going back soon to try the massive fish & chips. All in all quite a pleasant day.

Restreraunt offers a variety of foods from soups to steaks and you get a view of the boating lake and sand dunes too. Leisure centre is nearby for toilet facilities and outdoor activities for children make this a great day out for families. The Anthony Gormley,"another place" installation is nearby on the beach and is an amazing piece of work.

Wow, we loved this place! The location was great, the staff were so lovely, professional and friendly. Room was really big, we stayed in Room 2 and it was perfect, everything you could need, bed was really comfortable, beautiful views from the room and the location was peaceful and the breakfast was excellent too! Couldn't fault it and will be returning, this will be our new Valentine Weekend retreat! Perfect... Plus it is right next to Another Place where we watched the sun setting on the iron men... Fabulous weekend! I want to move here!

Dropped in on a wet Saturday afternoon. Surprised how big it was. Everything bright and clean with friendly service and great views across the marine lake. Didn't have lunch but the menu looked good and there were lots of people eating and I understand they also have a small number of hotel rooms. Certainly a great place to stop off for lunch and a coffee before/after a walk around the lake or down on the seafront.

After walking all over Crosby Beach, checking out the iron statues in Antony Gormley's, Another Place, this was a very pleasant way to spend an hour over a coffee and a bit of cake. The restaurant itself looked lovely and it was almost a shame we were going out later for dinner. Anyway, it was very pretty in the winter sunshine and the coffee was good.

Dined here about 6:30 pm. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with excellent service and lovely food. Didn't wait too long for food to arrive and you can tell that all food was fresh

this place shocked me I thought it would be just a quiet pub !!!!! in fact it was the opposite, we had a great time, staff very friendly and busy, food was lovley and drinks very reasonable, nice and clean and comfortable, I have been several times now and would recommend it to anyone.

We went here last night for a drink and decided to have some food was informed that the last food order was at 6.30 and that the place closes at 7.30 so we ordered two classic 1/4 pounder burgers when they came it was not a 1/4 pounder but in fact two thin burgers in the bun with lettuce tomatoes and onions and chips the burger was average the chips greasy not impressed at all with the standard of the food or the selection the staff were excellent

Came in for a coffee and was impressed by the space and the service. Will try a meal next time,coffee was good,toilets clean and Crosby beach on your doorstep.

The Lakeside certainly know how to throw a party. We had a brilliant night.The staff were very efficient , the food was lovely & the DJ kept us entertained throughout the night. The lovely Ciara stole the show with her Irish Dancing. It was her night off though so don't expect that all the time. Keep up the good work .
