I love visiting the Cromore with family and friends. The service and food at this family run restaurant can only be termed excellent and if any problems are dealt with promptly.

Long time customer, can’t fault the Cromore in anyway, staff are fantastic after many visits I’ve never had a reason to complain. In today’s era of over pricing and quite frankly other establishments taking the ‘Mickey’ with over pricing, Cromore manages to provide a fantastic quality meal at a realistic price. Keep up the good work, you are doing Portstewart credit. Saddened to hear of Charlie’s passing, he truly was a great gentleman and had a an extremely positive impact on anyone who knew him. RIP

My favourite dining venue in the area. Can’t recommend the service & quality of this establishment enough. Great food, good portions & friendly staff. My only criticism is that myself & my friends would prefer to dine in the restaurant for its ambience, etc., than in the bistro, but despite requesting this while booking, we frequently are seated in the bistro. While the menu & meals are the same in quality & price, surely if the restaurant is requested, it should be honoured!

Mixed review. Dined here twice in a week. First evening our meal was delicious , staff were very friendly and helpful. Our second meal was not really eatable . I’d ordered a side salad which was just a bowl of leaves. There seemed to be a lot of young staff who seemed unsure of the menu- had to ask in the kitchen a couple of times. Def, if this had been our meal on our first evening, we wouldn’t have returned.

We called in at this restaurant as heard it was nice, service was just ok, had to ask for a drink, ordered food, the menu has a great choice, food was not good, over cooked & quite hard to eat, I had chicken which was very dry & hard to cut, partner had fish which has been overdone to the point where he couldn’t cut it, chips were overdone too, fist time visiting this restaurant & it will be the last, would rather go to chippy!

Mi pariente llevé a mi madre y yo a cenar aquí. Tuve la penne pasta de tomate y vegetariana. Fue muy bueno. El servicio era rápido y amable. Me gustaba comer aquí.

I visited the a Cromore for a family dinner on Easter Sunday, whilst the food was good the service was extremely poor, I was handed roasting hot plates and served a child portion of ice cream and when I asked to for a replacement for what I really ordered I was handed back the same bowl and simply another scoop of ice cream was added. Overall, good food but the service could be improved!

We enjoyed a good meal at the bistro. Very friendly staff, prompt service, pleasant decor and atmosphere and most importantly good food. The leek and potato soup was tasty and the sirloin steak very tender. Choice of sides. We didnt have dessert but there were several to choose from. It is worth the 20 min walk from the centre of town.

We booked a table here because I knew that they could cater for my son who has Coeliac Disease. They told me that they could pretty much do anything on the main menu that was gluten free for my son. He was in his element because he ended up having battered chicken goujons and chips which is his absolute favourite, followed by ice cream. The staff were all very helpful and answered any questions we had. There was plenty to choose from and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Called in 'on spec' on a Saturday night and staff were very helpful in getting us (a couple) a table as it was a bank holiday weekend and they were absolutely packed. When we ordered the waiter advised us that as the kitchen was at full stretch there would be a bit of a wait for our meal, so at least we knew what to expect. Thought that was good customer relations! Food was very good and staff very helpful as they were on previous visits. The restaurant is quite dark, but the place was 'buzzing' with people enjoying themselves which is always a good sign. Will certainly be back.

This restaurant offers good food, ordinary bur well cooked. My greatest complaint is that its too busy and thus crowed a bit, a good complaint for the owners. I like a more relaxed and not so crowed place, otherwise this place is a good stop.

Visited with relatives and had a fairly poor experience at this restaurant. The only positive thing were the waiting staff who were extremely pleasant and efficient and couldn't have been friendlier. The restaurant itself is quite dark and dreary, with absolutely no atmosphere. Granted, it was an early week night we visited- so potentially it is a little livelier towards the weekend. Menu is unvaried, a little dated and quite plain. My aunt and uncle ordered duck, and my mum and I had battered cod, as I just wasn't enticed by anything else on the menu. The duck was scooted around the plate while my aunt and uncle desperately tried to eat it- from what I could see there was barely any meat on it, and it was tough and full of sinew. Our fish was nice enough. We brought this to the attention of the waiting staff who couldn't have been more helpful- they very kindly deducted the duck from the bill and brought us a dessert menu. Desserts were very enjoyable! Sticky toffee pudding and butterscotch sundaes went down very well and rescued the meal. In regards to the bill, I found everything fairly overpriced in relation to the quality of the food. Cromore Halt need an overhaul of the menu, a review of the prices and a brightening up for me to want to return!

This is a very good, middle of the road restaurant that seeks to cater to a wide variety of tastes. As a fairly regular visitor to this restaurant, in my opinion it succeeds in what it sets out to do. Prices are moderate and the food is good, ambiance very pleasant without ostentation. Recommended.

So much boasting about this restaurant but I'm afraid I can't see the appeal. Firstly the food is good but the competition is fierce at any coastal restaurant, lots of choice. The seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on. People are seated on top of each other. Customers have to SET their own tables! And walk up to the bar to order! It felt like a canteen experience to me. Considering all the above, you would think the food would be cheaply priced but sadly not , on average a main course could set you back 13.95. I'm sure whether this restaurant take these reviews seriously? Anyway, I Won't be returning.

I really had high hopes for this restaurant, the building was very nice and the place had a certificate from Trip Advisor on the door. The menu looked good and there were people starting to arrive at opening time. All good. We sat down, only to be called back to the counter by a staff member, he handed me 2 menus and told me to come back to him to order when we were ready. I then looked around and saw lots of elderly people around, and reckoned this place must do a half price early bird oap special. Not that I am ageist or anything, but if they keep pandering to this type of clientele, then that's all they will end up with. My partner and I did not like the idea of having to possibly cool the food too, so we just made our excuses and left.

I had a meal a year ago at Cromore with my family. I remembered it to be quite good including service and quality, however this year it has taken a nose dive. There is a number of reasons for this 1. when booking we were told the restaurant was not open but the bistro was and we could not reserve a table. 2. on arrival the front door was closed and entry was via the side entrance. But the main reason for my disappointment was the ordering procedure i.e. select from the menu and walk up to order from the till counter and bar, this had the effect of making it feel like a canteen. When the food arrived, which was average, the waitress went through the who is having the fish, who is having the burger routine. I know this is not unique to this establishment but is a constant source of annoyance, (why can't it be done as it is in Europe where the waiting staff know what each person is having?) when paying, the same confusion ruled when the customer knows more about the meal than the staff do! I will not be in a hurry to eat here again it was far from a special experience.

We visited the Cromore on Tuesday evening this week and left feeling very disappointed with both the quality of the food and the service. The Gluten free options looked inviting but turned out to be very plain. And being served ice cream with a wafer on top after reminding them that my daughter was gluten free/coeliac didn't really help the experience. A long wait for the food and particularly the desserts also didn't help. We won't be back. My advice if you gluten free head for the Adelphi Hotel in Portrush - you won't be disappointed.

Ate here last night, everything was very good. Decided to return tonight, food excellent, however the service left a lot to be desired. Dining on my own, I was immediately given a table and a drink order taken and menu provided immediately.it was all downhill from there. When I placed my order for food, which you pay for before you are served I was going to be charged for 2 glasses of wine which I did not order. After 45 minutes I had to ask where my meal was, because a table of 8 that had ordered 20 minutes after I , y as a single had ordered, started to get there food. THE FOOD WAS GREAT. Offered the sweet menu. 30 minutes later I was asked what I wanted. Too late, the table of 8 were again served before me.It may be a one off hopefully because the food is VERY GOOD.

Ate here with a mix of family and friends recently! They were really busy and we had to wait in the lounge upstairs but we half expected that as there were 8 of us and it was a Saturday night and everywhere in the port was going to be packed!! We had a great night in the Bistro and even though they were very busy the food was still good! Would recommend the steak sandwich and the salmon! The Bistro has recently got done up and is looking really well! Everyone in our party really enjoyed themselves and the boys loved the pavlova!!

Food nice but we waited an hour for our meal. Ordered nachos for a starter nibble - they came out after 50 minutes on a scalding hot plate, clearly over-cooked and clearly been sitting under a hot plate for ages, waiting for someone to pick them up. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she just shrugged it off. On payment of bill, no concession was made for the burnt nachos or the long wait. All of this resulted in our kids only having a very short time in Barry's - much to their disappointment.

Admittedly we hadn't booked and they were extremely busy. It was 7:30pm on a Saturday night. However, they fitted us in. Our food order was taken quickly and the choices were good. Kids had their own starters and i convinced them to try the veg platter with salsa dip. However, after 20 mins out came a plate of peppers, carrots and raw onion-why?? with bbq dip. Got dip changed. Waited another hour after this for mains, we didn't order starters. All tables seemed to be receiving the same long wait. Finally, after alot of looking bored, a waitress said your food will be out shortly the kitchen got backed up with orders! It took another 20mins for the food to appear. Kids were near sleeping by this stage. They didn't offer any discount or free drinks for the wait. 3 mains, 2 kids meals, jug of juice and a glass of house red cost £56-bit pricey for what we got. Was lovely inside but long wait spoiled experience. Only leaving restaurant at 10pm!

The side order salad was delicious too. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. Visited this restaurant twice in the past 4 weeks and the food was excellent on both occasions. We ate in the bistro each time and the choice of dishes on offer was very good. The Basque chicken (char grilled supreme of chicken, mozzarella cheese, roasted vegetables with a balsamic and red wine reduction) is excellent especially with the champ. Creme brulee for dessert was also excellent. This restaurant is highly recommended and is good value for money. I hope to return in the near future.

Went for a family meal with three generations. Staff friendly and helpful and menu not bad! Good choice of food for kids also. Surprised it was so quiet on a bank holiday when everywhere else was full. Had to chase up some side orders as food getting cold waiting on them. No salad dressing or veg on the plate when dishes arrived. Good portions of chips, mash and baby boiled potatoes.Food not bad although pavlova was meringue nests filled with cream and fruit - not the same as pavlova!Marked down as one of the dishes came with a hair - yes a hair. Waitress was very apologetic and offered an alternative but my son was put off. She said she would get the meal deducted from the bill and apologised directly to my son which was a nice gesture. After 10 minutes manageress (I presume) arrived and started to question us - why didn't we say something, why didn't we want something else to eat and then asked about what the hair was like. She then started to say it wasn't a hair and from the fryer! It was a hair! Said she would deduct the meal from the bill. When the bill was paid by our visitor from Australia as we were ready to leave the waiter informed him he had forgotten to deduct the meal and apologised. Our visitor was embarrassed and said to add it to the tip for the staff and was thanked for this. Hmmmmm - not what was expected. Will rethink returning -unforgivable really.

We were only looking for a main course, so my wife had the cajun chicken burger, with goats cheese and balsamic dressing and caramelised onions, while I had the chicken goujons. Its a little out of town, really about half-way between Portrush and Portstewart, and on the site of an old railway station (Cromore Halt)It has a much more formal atmosphere than many eateries in the area, and features mostly traditional fare. The quality of service and food are impeccable. Dress code of the clientele is high, it 's a place you have to set out to go to, so everyone makes an effort! Despite what seems a totally rural setting , it's only about three miles in each direction from three large and fairly affluent towns, so very accessible, and by local standards relatively expensive.IBooking would be essential, and well worthwhile. Treat someone for their special occasion.

The Crowmore is just over the road from the Meadowpark so we (5 of us) went for it. The food was average, meaning one of us reckoned it poor and one of us reckoned it very good and the rest slid into the middle band. The wines were fearfully mediocre and generally from a south American wine lake (as I remember it though remembering much about them is difficult).Service was fairly speedy and accurately delivered so if you're in a rush then this would likely work out

We spent one night at the Port Hotel as we were visiting family in the area and heading to the Giant's Causeway. Location is good, not a far drive from the Causeway with decent restaurants nearby. Staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were friendly. The beds unfortunately were very uncomfortable.. lumpy and badly in need of updating. The hotel vibe is cute and quaint, okay for one night, but wouldn't spend a second night.
