Croesy fish bar and Chinese takeaway in Torfaen

I ordered a takeaway on Saturday 11-06-22 and It was by far the worst Chinese takeaway ever . Please do yourselves a favour and don't use this one. Owner of this takeaway I have left this message not to be vindictive but to let you see me review and hopefully take note on my comment above.

where to start , Home delivery turned up, it was cold the order wasnt right , dished it up put it in the microwave to heat it up , after draining all the grease off it , had one mouth full and it went in the bin , as did the burnt prawn crackers. Not very often I can buy a takeaway for £30 due to not earning a great lot , but I expect to be able to eat it , who ever the cook is needs to go back and learn to cook , even my dog turned its nose up to it .... I say it as it is , I will never ever order from there again , just hoping I dont spend the night in the bathroom , basically the place needs looking into

Had from here food is gorgeous staff are polite and friendly. Sweet and sour chicken was awesome so we're the bbq spare ribs loads to value for money will be using again

Absolutely fantastic food and great customer service. Have eaten here a few times and the food is consistently of high standard. The owner and staff are very polite I have a new favourite place for my Chinese takeaway. Thank you all keep doing what your doing.

Awful, not worth the calories. Used to be really good, but they have really gone south in a Hurry. The food arrived cold, and the batter stale and soft. If you complain the owner argues with you and re-sends food that is so spicy it's inedible. Don't waste your money!

Ordered on the phone. Pleasant lady took order and repeated back. Nice driver turned up 30 minutes later. Dishing out the food we were gutted that they hadn't sent the prawn crackers which we had been charged for. Driver returned 20 minutes later with them apologising he had missed them. The food was delivered hot and we both enjoyed the beef chow mein, Singapore fried rice and curry sauce. A bit of improvement like others have suggested is needed on the chips and prawn crackers. These were unfortunately both over cooked for the chips and soft/crunch less for the prawn crackers. Key items but not right at the moment. Would not recommend today.

We had been advised that the food here was good; however, we were disappointed. The beef wasn't tender, the chicken was like rubber, the chips greasy and soggy, and the prawn crackers were soft and didn't crack. The chow mrin was okay. I don't think that we will be back.

just now We really fancied a Thai green curry and it seemed this was the only place in Cwmbran we could get one. We ordered 2 portions, 1 beef 1 prawn and a large bag of chips. We got a very small bag of soggy chips, 1 portion of chicken and 1 of prawn of what can only be described as green water covered water chestnuts and bamboo shoots. It had never been near any coconut milk and they couldn't even get the meat right in an order of 2 dishes.

Ordered on the phone for delivery. Not ordered from here for a while. Was told 40 minutes and it was spot on. Free prawn crackers is a bonus and they're some of the best ones I've tried locally. Both my wife were really pleased with the quantity and quality of the food we received. Both finished it off which is always a good sign. Only slight negative was that it wasn't as hot as what I would like to receive food. This maybe a delivery issue rather than collection. Either way food was generally great so would recommend.

Under new management that is the poorest I’ve come across. We’ve lived in Croesy years and have always used Croesy Chinese as our take away or even to stop and grab a bite. Never had any complaints until now. Rude staff shouting behind on the phone saying to block our number just because we complained our food was cold, after it arrived 1:30 hours after ordering. Said it would be 40 minutes for a new order so asked just for a refund and got slagged off by someone who was shouting behind the phone. Awful. Food has changed drastically and is at such poor standard and quality for the money. Order was wrong also as things was missing/wrong. Having to wait for the money and food to be taken back for god knows how long before we could go get something else, ended up waiting half hour and ringing again to say we would just drop it off to them as we wasn’t waiting any longer, shambles! I have kids to feed. Ended up chucking in some freezer pizzas we had quickly for our special family take away night. Rude and disgusting. Will never be returning. BRING BACK THE OLD OWNERS. Will also be letting all our neighbours and friends know of this and how bad it is.

Usually buy from here and usually have a good meal but not today. Tasteless, overcooked and chewy. I phoned them to tell them I was unhappy and the person I spoke to kept speaking over me, tried to say I asked for burnt food and that the usual chef had left and they were using a 'new recipe', apparently they now make lemon chicken with no lemon or sauce for that matter since I can't call the barely flavored water my chicken came in sauce. Despite repeated attempts to explain my issues with the food, I never got more than a couple of words because they kept talking over me and then simply hung up on me. Will Never use again and I recommend you don't either

We have used this take away many times, the food is always great and tastes superb, the staff are lovely too The food is great value

We have used this takeaway twice The first time the food was great so we gave it another go and ordered a more substantial meal the second time The food again was really good and really tasty Service was quite quick and the staff really friendly It does not look the flashiest place when you walk in but looks can be deceiving, the food so far has been good

Hello, I am writing this review to tell you how good the chips are here, I enjoy how it is a Chinese and a chip shop as it is useful when the family cannot agree on Chinese or chip shop.
