Update: I decided to give Oita another try, and this time, my food was really good, so I've updated my 3 stars to 4 stars. The service was better my first visit, but the food was much better on my second visit. I will definitely be coming back 😁 ------ Original review: I will start by saying that the service was great here... staff were really friendly and attentive. However, my food was just a little disappointing. I had the spicy seafood ramen and prawn gyoza. Gyoza was slightly burnt, and ramen was ok but lacked a bit of taste if I'm being honest. If I do come back, then hopefully, I can try something else. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a lovely little venue, I just would've liked to enjoy my food a bit more.

Amazing service as usual, we used to be regular attendees and have returned after such a long while and as usual we were not disappointed They do the best sushi (try the fire Green Dragon roll) Mohamad our server was great when recommending meals and made us feel very welcome.

Ordered the spicy seafood ramen, which was not so tasty and the seafood mix looked like it was frozen seafood from Iceland. The 2 Bento boxes were OK. The starters arrived shortly before the mains and there was not anytime to enjoy them. Mental note - From here on in I will always order the staters way in advance to avoid this happening again.

disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your Wood Green location. Today I arrived at the restaurant with my newborn in a pushchair and my three-year-old child. Upon arrival, I encountered two steps at the entrance, which posed a challenge given my circumstances. One of the staff member was standing at the door but did not offer any assistance or greeting. When I inquired if he worked at the restaurant, he confirmed that he did, yet still did not provide any help with the pushchair or the stairs. Despite observing my struggle to lift the pushchair, he remained passive. Only after my efforts did he inform me that the kitchen was closed until 5:00 PM. This information would have been more helpful if communicated earlier, preventing unnecessary inconvenience. This lack of assistance and unprofessional behavior was both surprising and disheartening, especially from an establishment that I had expected to be welcoming to families. As a result of this experience, I felt unwelcome and chose not to dine at your restaurant. I hope that you will address this issue to ensure that all customers, especially those with young children, receive the assistance and courtesy they deserve

My server Mohamad was a brilliant host, he made my meal. He was there to offer recommendations and guide me through my dining experience. 100% will be back.

Such a lovel meal with fresh food and excellent service, especially from Monica Couldn't fault it!

By far the best restaurant in all of Wood Green, and my favourite place for sushi in all of London. They also have a wonderful outdoor terrace in the summer. I recommend you try the Spinach Namul, Beef Gyudon and any of the sushi, as it's all delicious. Staff is incredible too, I was served by Mohamad and he made me feel super welcome. Can't wait to return!

We have been twice to OITA and been blown away each time. The food is unbelievably good and a wide drinks selection too. The aubergine starter was the star of both meals. Prices are good for the quality of what you get!

An incredible experience! I had a fantastic time at this Japanese restaurant in Green Wood. The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors and beautifully presented dishes. Special mention to our server, Mohamad, who was simply perfect! His warm welcome, his professionalism and his wise recommendations made the experience even more pleasant. I dined earlier this week and was impressed by the service from Monika, great menu recommendations, upsold us lots more drinks than we anticipated tp have. Watch her juggle what looked like table reservation problems, bar and floor whilst being attentive but not overbearinf to us. My friend and i had the flaming beef sushi roll and gave the new oita style roll a try. The food was delicious! If anyone is local or would just like to try out a new restaurant, i would recommend 😊

The wakame su was a joke. Almost £7 for few pieces of cucumber. And Kakuni ramen? Had few fatty bits of pork and watered down “broth” to accompany it. I used to be loyal customer but no more as this is not a first time I and my family were disappointed.

Come regularly for a quick drink or a treat lunch at the end of the week. Great service. Lovely atmosphere. The sushi is fantastic and there is a wide range available. Great in the summer as it has a lovely covered outdoor area.

I went to Oita for lunch as a Christmas treat for myself. I was given a choice of seats rather than being hidden in a corner or near the toilets as often happens to single people. Mohamed was polite and attentive without being overbearing. I have a gluten allergy and felt well cared for. I had a veggie California urumaki which was well made and didn’t fall apart under my clumsy use of chopsticks. The chirashi don was bigger than I expected and came with miso soup. Both tasted very fresh and the rice was perfect. The prices are very reasonable for the size of the portions. The music was audible but unobtrusive and I did not have to raise my voice to be heard. I happily recommend this restaurant and can’t think of any flaws.

I don't quite understand how this has the ratings it has. Our starters were served with one of our mains, yet the second main took a good 5 to 10 minutes to come out. Onto that, I ordered the vegan ramen, twice stating vegan, yet got the veggie ramen brought out, so spent even longer waiting for my dish that was extremely bland, chewy, that I left mostly untouched and yearned for my £1 nongshim packet ramen at home. My girlfriend's fish felt off to her too, to the point she had to leave some of it untouched for fear of food poisoning. The seaweed salad and miso soups were great, so we couldn't figure out how the starters were such a hit, but the mains such a miss. And to be pricier than central London for it too is confounding.

OITA is one of my favorite restaurants in Wood Green. Food is superb and delicious. Staff is very friendly. Mohamed was very friendly and kind to me. I highly recommend this place to japanese food lovers

My boyfriend and I booked a slot for 9:45 and arrived at 9:54 and were told that they would not serve us even though the website states a grace period of 15 minutes. Once we mentioned this, we were told that it would be amended on the website and were advised against getting food so late as it was insinuated we would get leftovers.

Best restaurant in north London tbh, criminally underrated. Mohamed was an amazing host and waiter making us feel looked after the entire time too!

Oita is a go-to place after ice skating in Ally Pally. The interior is so aesthetic and chill. The food was so filling and came hot. Lovely Don bowls. The staff is nice too. I recommend the chicken katsu Don and the mixed tempura.

Oita is the best vibes and best sushi in London. This is a London hidden gem, great food, amazing cocktails and warm service. Monika was a great server and super attentive. The beer garden is 10/10 all year round too!

Went here for lunch and got the Mackarel bento box and the chicken Katsu bento. Everything was delicious and the portions were very generous. Mohammed provided great service

Food was very good - I got the tamagodon (essentially an omelette on top of rice), avocado sushi and miso soup. The avocado was maybe a bit too firm for me and the tamagodon could've used a darker, more flavourful sauce. That being said, I still enjoyed it a lot and can't fault the big serving size! The miso soup, funnily enough, was the stand out! That was delicious! I got takeaway so I can't comment too much on the atmosphere but it looked like it had this great mashup of a super chill space mixed with a classy dining experience.
