Delicious food and great service! We had the samosas, poppadoms, chili parotta, pani puri, masala dosa, daal, butternut squash and sweet potato and bread fruit curry with paratha

Went as a group of eight and everyone raved about the food, was absolutely delicious. We had various starters, loved the Cauliflower gobi. I had the Butternut squash and sweet potato curry was amazing. Everyone loved their various dishes. We ordered breads and rice to share. We even had desserts which we normally never do and the mango sorbet was delicious. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and we all said we would return.

What a treasure! So happy to have stumbled upon this amazing Indian restaurant in Turnpike Lane, North London. The food is some of the best Indian I have eaten in London and the menu has South Indian dishes not always seen on most London menus. We had the dosa, parotta, appam and breadfruit curry - all excellent. The standout dish was the Paani Puri - not to be missed. Carnivores will not feel cheated at this fantastic restaurant. Can't wait to return to try their thali - Mon- Thurs until 4pm and on Sundays - and their desserts. The restaurant is a 2 min walk from the tube station and close to buses. Service is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Food was great - Fully flavourful and nice portions - The table service was attentive and delightful and this was also by 2 different waiters/waitresses - We were given a breakdown on what each of the dishes were so that the right choice was able to be made. The mocktails were great and not too sweet despite the descriptions stating sugar was added. Will definitely return and indulge in this Gem of A Vegetarian Restaurant - Enjoyable ambience with nice lighting. Clean toilet and prompt service offered.

Was looking for a vegan place for lunch, only had a short break so called to order ahead which they were only too happy to oblige. Extremely friendly and helpful staff who were fast and efficient yet still personable.

Stopped in for a quick lunch with an old friend. The menu was extensive so it was hard to pick. I went with the lunch special which offered a sampling of several dishes which were all pretty good. I'd suggest this place to friends and also go back. I would budget a little more time as some dishes took a little longer.

The food was good, and the setting comfortable and clean. The mango lassi I had was delicious and I tried the Puraan Dosa which was a nice change from the Masala Dosa I normally have. Prices were a bit above my normal budget.

They have really nice foods and it’s totally fresh . And I would suggest if you want a nice environment and friendly staff you should definitely visit this restaurant.

Great place for flavoursome curry and imaginative food. A vegan restaurant any foodie will appreciate. Had the thali, three very tasty curries with delicate flavours. Friendly service with a real local vibe and an elegant dining area with plenty of space between customers.

I had an absolute blast enjoying the dosas! They were incredibly crispy, and the masala packed just the right amount of spicy goodness. Exactly what I was hoping for!

Puraan was set up at my child's primary school for their annual Christmas fair this year . Despite the weather being cold and grey with the added drizzle , I can surely say that the food items presented were delicious and fresh ! Not only was the food amazing but the staff serving were so kind and generous. Be sure to check them out . Their restaurant is located in Turnpike Lane N8 . First time eating here with my partner and what a gem we've found. Very friendly welcome and helpful, amiable service throughout. The food was brought quickly and was delicious - Authentic Southern Indian dishes full of flavour, not oily. There was an error with an extra dish we didn't order and we weren't charged, even though it was just an easy misunderstanding. A nice gesture on top of an already positive experience. The bill was very fair as well. We will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommended. Tip: Bring your own booze if you want an alcoholic beverage.

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to Puraan for being one of the best and most authentic South Indian restaurants I've ever visited in London. It has become my favorite spot to satisfy my taste buds. I often travel from Ealing Broadway to dine here, even though there are closer options for Indian food in Wembley. Puraan offers something unique that stands out from the rest. The food is always freshly prepared, and the authenticity is unmatched. The kitchen is clean and, importantly, they do not use any artificial colors in their dishes. Unfortunately, it's quite common for many Indian restaurants to use artificial coloring in their food preparation nowadays. If you're looking for truly authentic South Indian cuisine, I highly recommend visiting Puraan, which is just a 2-minute walk from Turnpike tube station.

Excellent South Indian food with authentic, vibrant flavours. Their dosas are huge and great value. Service is friendly and genuine. The BYOB policy makes prices even more reasonable. A local classic!

Pleasantly surprised by the food here. I have never had a great experience with Indian cuisine. However, fairly recently, my friend convinced me to meet here, saying it was absolutely delicious and on top of it vegetarian. She was right. I loved the crispy okra and the curry, but the okra was my top top. I can't remember the names of all the dishes we had, but everything was fantastic. I'm a fan of indian food now!? The service was top notch. Perhaps a cocktail menu would be a good idea. It can seem slightly pricey for the area, but honestly, it's just that. Considering the food quality I assume they actually use good ingredients and quality comes with a price naturally. At central London this place could charge double and no one would bat an eye.

A little oasis of fabulous food, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. Unlike most restaurants, Puraan does not have loud music blaring so you can actually have a conversation! Their service is always fantastic - the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and always smiling. As for the food, no other local restaurant from South Asia comes even close - it's authentic, delicious and fresh! I am so lucky to have Puraan in my neighbourhood because it is a little piece of home away from home and it feeds my nostalgia! :)

All the good reviews are not wrong. Great food, roughly 1/3 of the menu was vegan, and some gluten free, but not only. The bread and the dosa were just so delicious with the crunchy veg and spicy sauces. Great value as we spent just over £40 for two (without drinks, we just had water). I'll definitely be back and south Indian cuisine is becoming my new favourite!

Three of us the Sunday Special Thali and it was delicious. Two of us asked for spicy and one asked for mild. Came exactly as ordered. Full of flavour. Lots of dishes - 7 plus poppadom and chapatti. Lovely waiter who came from Kerala. Pleasant atmosphere and clean. Price £14.95 per Special Thali - an ordinary weekday Thali £9.95.

A good place to go if you want to Kerala food - but limited to vegetarian. Many specialties of Kerala, like aappam, kerala parotta, Idiyappam, Malabar Eddo Curry, typical Keralite brand of rasam etc, which one cannot eeasily get in other Indian restaurants, are on the menu. They do serve some north India dishes as well, but their main thrust is on typical Kerala food. Worth a visit.

Updating my review after my second visit for the Keralan festival where we were served the banana leaf feast. Overall this place is great, traditional South Indian cuisine. I recommended the banana leaf experience, it was great to learn and experience something new. The atmosphere was also great. I probably wouldn’t do it again though. However, I’d go back again and again for the dosa.

Had a great meal at Puraan, a local gem with well-presented food and BYO - soft drinks options did look good though... We were lucky to get a table as a walk-in on a lively Friday night for our first visit. Been back many times since, including for special buffet events, and most recently on a Sunday for the special thali (Sundays only) - did not disappoint! Friendly welcome and attentive service every time. Great flavours - spicing is great.

Everything we had was delicious and fresh! Tasty soup and spicy gobi with poppadums to start followed by a masala dosa and special dosa (with beetroot.. yum!). After a small moment of rest we had chai and dark chocolate sorbet which was also great!

It was our first time at Puraan. We were walmly welcomed. Our waiter suggest some dishes, some of which were taken up. The food was wonderful. We will definitely be calling again.

Food is great. Pricing is very good too. But the menu is dangerous. Many things labelled as vegan came with non-vegan sauces. Having to ask are you sure this is vegan when it arrives only to be told "don't eat that bit" is really is not acceptable. If someone had a dairy allergy for instance they could be harmed - you would fairly assume that someone would not be checking vegan dishes for dairy. Message to management: you need to fix your menu urgently. Message to customers: double check with the waiter that all the accompaniments are vegan.

The food here is so amazing I just cant describe it... I wish they opened a place in the Netherlands... We highly recommend this place.

This place is an absolute gem! Dishes are much lighter and fresher than at your usual curry place. The samosas have a delicate, glassy *crunch*, and come with a tangy chilli sauce. The biryani is a new favourite of mine: made with fresh green veg (perfectly cooked) and herby-minty notes. I'd be remiss not to mention the brinjal mojo: tangy and chewy - almost like a richly spiced caramel. Honestly, I've tried about half of the menu and there's nothing I haven't enjoyed. Service is quick and attentive and the staff are really friendly - clearly very proud of their establishment. I'd recommend either eating in or ordering over the phone to take away!

Have been here three or four times now, am really struggling how other people give this place a rating any lower than five star. Beautiful food, genuinely friendly staff, you can bring your own alcohol for a corkage fee and very very good prices. Absolutely love it here 💯
