I would happily move to Reading just for this place. Excellent food, friendly service. I didn’t love the chowmein but that could be because I don’t like schzuan sauce in general. But everything else was amazing. The dosas looked great. I didn’t take any on this visit but certainly will the next time.

Good one, nice fresh food and good options for breakfast.

Walked in here at 9:30pm after a long days work not knowing what to expect. Soon as I entered I knew it was going to be incredible. We asked the waiter what we should get and he proceeds to bring out dish after dish of some of the best food I have ever eaten. I have never been to an Indian restaurant that felt so authentic, yet so welcoming. I would highly reccomend for anyone looking for a delicious meal. Thankyou!

Atmosphere excellent, Masala dosa served but masala inside was old and taste bad, they replaced with plain Dosa but charged Masala Dosa, idly and Mysore bonds was amazing. Asked for bit extra chutney but takes ages and found totally different taste. It’s a great place but i think they need more customers..nice and smile faces ..

We have been attended by Sathish and he suggested us some incredible fusion dosa ( one with paneer 65 and another one gobi 65 stuffings) and we really loved it. Keeps up the good work please!!!

This place is very good for Indian authentic veg foods with reasonable price and amazing taste.

Love this place, the food is authentic and delicious. Huge fan of the Bel Puri, dal makhani, palak masala dhosa in particular, but it is all delicious. Staff are lovely. We often have it delivered too and the food travels well.

Weekend breakfast buffet is very good. It is almost like home made food. Variety of Dosas, Poori and Coffee are served as part of the buffet but these are made on request and prepared fresh and served same as regular non-buffet order. So, these always tasted fresh and authentic. There are other items too as part of the breakfast buffet. If you want to taste south Indian food in Reading, then this is the restaurant to go to. Customer Service is better than the other leading South Indian restaurant in Reading. Manager Mr. Satish is very caring and makes the whole experience even better. Thank you Mr. Satish. Fresh authentic food made to order as part of the buffet along with very good customer care are the deciding factors for me in recommending Crispy Dosa over the other leading South Indian Restaurant in Reading. If you haven't already, just visit once and you will be a regular visitor to Crispy Dosa... Be warned ;) There is free on-street parking (2 hours) too near by.

The weekend buffet was very well planned by manger Sathish. The quality of food is also very good and its like homely food. The staff were very friendly gave good customer service.

The service at this establishment was exceedingly poor. The manager, Satish, was unable to recall our order and appeared more interested in sipping tea than attending to customers. Under new management and with newly hired staff at the Reading location, the food is merely adequate, with superior options available elsewhere in town. The atmosphere is also lacking. It is unsuitable for children, infants, or senior citizens, as access requires ascending stairs. Overall, my family faced difficulties entering the restaurant and subsequently experienced substandard service at various levels. The staff neglected to bring us water until we had finished our meal and approached the counter to pay. Although the food was passable, it lacked the authenticity of Indian cuisine, which was highly disappointing. If this review is being considered by the management team, I earnestly request that you cease playing loud South Indian YouTube videos. Patrons visit the restaurant to enjoy their time, not to be subjected to loud videos. Please ensure a peaceful environment so that guests can enjoy their time with family and friends.

Absolutely horrible food and service. Went there for lunch, the buffet was cold and half empty. Waiter was extremely rude. The fact is the restaurant was not even busy that they couldn’t serve properly, it was mostly empty and still couldn’t maintain buffet or service. The food other than the buffet was devoid of any taste. Never going back again. Disappointment in the name of South Indian cuisine.

We have eaten in the Windsor branch and thought to try the one in Reading. Everything was really great.

Recently dined at crispy dosa restaurant in Reading and had an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the Sathish, who was both professional and friendly. The service was impeccable, with the waitstaff attentive to every detail.

These people only cares about money nothing else, food is not that bad but attitude….

We searched for South Indian restaurant in Reading, and randomly chose Crispy Dosa because of it's proximity from the town centre. It was on Sunday and we wanted a light snack and cuppa. But they had buffet on Saturdays & Sundays - unlimited and just £8. I reluctantly picked up very less items from the extended buffet including the sweet dish & cup of tea. Every item I had was delicious and I craved for more- ordered fresh puri sabji. The restaurant was packed, & the manager earnestly and courteously made sure to accommodate all guest within short reasonable time. The other waiters were well dressed and polite. Excellent ambiance and you could see that guest were happy with the food. The service offered, the behaviours and on top delicious fresh home cooked food made our random choice a regular one for the future. You will not regret if you like south Indian or simple vegetarian Indian dishes.

Food was spectacular and delicious and all the staff were super kind, polite and patient and always observant of me and my friends and constantly checked up on us (which is a good thing) but there were a couple of flies that came but the total experience was amazing.

I took the Masala tea, which is the same as karak, the price was 3 pounds, but honestly I liked it, but the only thing I didn't like was the atmosphere of the restaurant inside that smelled like food a lot, I think they need to do better ventilation than the current one.

Food great. They were happy to turn music down so we could chat better which was cool. I've been many times and got a slightly different version on what was vegan each time. No vegan puds. Lovely fresh juices.

Vadai seemed old. Besides that the food was really good with really good service.

Crispy Dosa in Reading is a fantastic pure vegetarian restaurant. We ordered the Gobi 65, which was amazing. The Mysore Masala Dosa had an authentic taste and was really awesome. We also enjoyed the Veg Manchurian Noodles and Schezwan Paneer Manchurian Fried Rice. To top off our meal, the filter coffee provided a complete dining experience. Highly recommend this place for delicious and authentic vegetarian dishes.

Food is good but there is no consistency, sometimes you will get a very good meal but sometimes you might get stale food. For me Samosa chat and filter coffee are must. Sambhar is really tasty as it satisfies my north India taste buds. Things to improve: 1) Cleanliness 2) Consistency in Food

Authentic South Indian fare. Quick and efficient service. They have a decent kids menu as well. My toddlers enjoyed the chocolate chapathi roll and the sweet potato fries. The rava dosa was perfectly crispy and lacy. Friendly staff, Satish was extremely courteous and helpful. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

I ordered vegetable biriyani and aaloo tikki in chick peas, food was nice warm and perfectly delivered.

I decided to try the South Indian buffet breakfast once more, the last I'd been in for the same, being well over a year back tho' I'd been in for the lunch a couple times. I happened to be the first customer and tho' a bit of a wait at the start .... the spread before me was appetising indeed .... taking me back home in seconds :) The taste didn't disappoint at all either. Every dish except for the 'kesari' which I didn't get to have was flavoursome indeed and had my taste buds tingle with joy to savour some 'home' food. Served by Roshini and the Manager, Satheesh who were 'very' accommodating of my request (as I started to feel a bit poorly and needed to leave sooner) which was 'much' appreciated by me. Top-notch thoughtful customer service and flavoursome food. Would definitely recommend the buffet breakfast, as it's definitely improved from when I'd last had it. Kudos to the chef to lay such a tasty and sumptuous spread for those missing home:)

A decent south Indian corner serving pure veg food. I love their weekend buffet breakfast and I end up eating double my normal appetite. In second visit kaapi was served in tumbler which exhilerate the palette and it was made so well that I could drink it without sugar. Poori was very fluffy with very little oil, so that was great. The ambience, the serving ladies and last but not least the gentleman at the counter is super friendly. Not much luck with noodles as it did not taste well for me so I wont try it again. OverallI do recommend this place for good food.

Had a really good experience with these people. The food was too good for the price especially because it was a buffet. Apart from the food the service was also top notch. Satheesh ensured we had all that was required the entire time. Will recommend to others for sure.

Our first visit was not really impressed by food. I have been to another South Indian restaurant closer to the place, and the food tastes better. Kindly look into adding flavor. Sambher was good but chutneys were pretty ordinary.

I visited this restaurant today with a very good friend of mine. Originally from India, I totally appreciate south Indian cuisine and for it to be 100% vegetarian is just next level up. So I was very curious to try it out and oh boy this restaurant didn't let me down in any way. I had ordered mysore masala dosa which was exactly how I expected it to be and freshly made with amazing three chutneys and a pot of sambar. So so so delicious and it felt like I was in veggie heaven. Also ordered dal vada but will order other things from menu as some amazing dishes there. My friend had ordered Masala dosa which looked amazing along with dahi puri. It was so delicious that I could have dahi puri every day from there. Mango lassi was absolutely luxurious and rich in taste. Enjoyed it very much with my mysore masala dosa( see pic). Service was excellent and I could see people from different ethnicity enjoying authentic, delicious south Indian food. I'm visiting this place soon..thank you crispy dosa for such delicious food. Atmosphere was 4 start because we had two flies flying around and unsure where it came from as it was raining outside. Otherwise ambience was lovely and cannot fault on anything.

Had a good dinner at Crispy Dosa. Good vegetarian options and friendly service. Have been to the restaurant few times. A place to relax and have a peaceful dinner with nice songs playing in the background.

Our recent dining experience was somewhat disappointing due to the seating arrangements. Although larger tables were available, we were told they were strictly for four people, not for two, even though they were not reserved. This policy was particularly frustrating as we noticed other parties of two being accommodated at these four-person tables. A more consistent and flexible seating policy would enhance the dining experience and ensure all guests are treated equally.

The staff were friendly, the food was priced fairly and was very tasty. However, without going into a lot of detail, don’t go here if you have any kind of food allergy. No staff training, the menu’s notation was a shambles and no allergy matrix was available. We managed to put a meal together. Turned out very tasty but the GF dosa was soggy, not crispy. However, overall the meal was acceptable and fair value.
