Popped along to here today at my Husbands request for a birthday breakfast. Arrived and was told that they don't do breakfast, only rolls! I advised the woman that I'd seen online that they did do breakfast but she wasn't having any if it, her reply was 'where on line'. Well just to clarify to the woman ...... you're own website states you do a West Highland way breakfast. To be honest I was glad we hadn't eaten there having seen the grease that had dripped onto the windowsill outside from the kitchen fan.

The Crainlarich Station Tearoom is located on the single track West Highland Line. The railway line was completed in 1894 and is in the top of rail journey in the world. After Crainlarich the routes to Mallaig and Oban diverge. The station buildings are not the original ones. These were destroyed by fire in 1937. The Tearoom is popular with train passengers waiting for the incoming train. The café offers breakfast, coffee & tea, soups, sandwiches & cake. Service is friendly and efficient. Coming from Oban and waiting for the Mallaig train we spotted the tearoom. Furniture and decoration are in a charming pre-WW2 style. You think you walk back into the 19-fifties. Only the steam engines are missing. We went for white tea & coffee and cake. The coffee was OK, the cake good and the tea was perfect. Highly recommended.

Tried again to visit this cafe. Raining heavily. The time was 2.05pm. The website said open. Trip Advisor website said closed at 3pm. When we arrived the cafe was firmly closed and had no sign of being opened today. This is the second time in a fortnight that it had been closed when advertising on its website that it was open. At exactly 2.30 the 'open' sign changed to closed. I would advise travellers to not bother with Crianlarich for food and especially the Station Cafe, Crianlarich advertise 'facilities', clearly none and the hotel was unable to serve food until 5pm either.

We called there for a light lunch one Saturday. The room is long and narrow as it has to be as it is on the station's island platform with trains on the scenic West Highland line [Glasgow to Oban, Fort William and Mallaig] passing either side. Luxurious it is not, with plain chairs and tables. It would have been nice if the server could have managed a smile!

Stopped in here whilst walking the West Highland Way, which involved a three-quarter mile detour down to the station, and to be honest, we wished we hadn't bothered. The place is very basic, and the food is completely uninspiring; despite being in the market for a cake, the mass produced offerings just looked plain unappealing, so we confined ourselves to drinks. I baulked however at paying £3.00 for a double espresso, instead ordering a single, which turned out to be rather a good move, as the coffee was not only tasteless, but was served in a cold cup, so by the time I got it to my lips, it was luke.

There is little time during the train stops to make use of this tearoom. It is most used by motorists. I had a tea and bun on a freezing cold morning while waiting for a train onward to Mallaig. One-man operated, it was warm, efficient and had a reasonable selection of snacks. A Scottish breakfast could be had. Stopped here a few times now on travels North. A little difficult to find the entrance, parking is in a lane leading to the railway station. Steep stairs to climb to gain access to the platforms, not very good for people with walking difficulties. Tea room is a tad run down. But the friendly staff make up for this. On the last visit we had the all day breakfast which was freshly prepared. And very nice. Would visit again when up that way.

On the wall you find old 'wired' messages ahead of train arrival to order food to be available on arrival. Those were the days ! - but when passengers stretched their 2013 legs as train forced to wait for late running sleeper to cross the tearoom did a brisk trade and on a wet day locals joined those with a longish wait for the Oban branch in sampling good plain tasty fare from friendly staff.

Stopped for lunch on the way North. All day breakfast - greasy; toastie - delicious and bacon& egg roll - tasty but coffee was lukewarm, tea was stewed and hot choc was fine. Service was poor. But ... We did have trains arriving and departing on either side of us! :-)

We had a Scottish breakfast here which was excellent, our only comment would be that the portion was quite small. We could've shared another one between us! The café itself feels a bit like a run down cantine, but the staff were friendly and the food was good!

Simple and satisfying fare, but that sausage roll was outstandingly meaty! No frills about the premises, but Interesting rail and locally themed photos

Stopped here as I connected for a train to Oban, was starving so I launched into a coffee and a scotch pie. The pie was delicious, sourced from a local butcher the guy told me. Coffee just ordinary but get the pie and take a look at the posters etc. on the walls!

I've stopped here a number of times with friends on the way to the hills. The owners are great and we all like it. It has a lot of character on the station. I think the other reviews are a bit harsh ...

You don't normally choose the railway tearoom for lunch but in the middle of winter, with most of the pubs and hotels looking empty if not closed, then it was worth a look and it more than lived up to expectations.

This was a logical stop on our way to Oban (we were driving). The sign said tea room and we fancied a cuppa tea.

Everytime we visit Scotland, we always stop at this tearoom on our way north on the A82 road. The tearoom stands on the island platform of the Crianlarich railway station and provides great snacks in an unuusual setting. We especially enjoy their bacon rolls. The tearoom seves passers-by like us but is also well known to travellers on the several trains on the scenic West Highland Line. Some of the trains stop there for about 5 minutes before they split up into a section heading to Oban and one heading to Fort William and Mallaig. They join up in the south direction. Passengers have a few minutes to grab a snack and head back on the train. Try to time your visit so you are there a few minutes before the trains arrive, then you can take pictures and wait for the tearoom activities to subside before getting your own snack once the trains have left. Check the timetables (schedules) on the Scotrail website (www.scotrail.co.uk).

Having 30 mins to spare before the arrival of the train to Fort William and Mallaig we entered the tired and dated long tea room for a cuppa. All 3 cups of tea were weak and tasteless hot water.

Hopped off the Oban to Glasgow train when it stopped at Crianlarich. There's a 10 wait for the train from Fort William to arrive & be attached. Time enough to buy a bacon roll, a homemade scone and a chocolate square. All were fresh and delicious.

Thank you for a lovely meal last night, chicken stroganoff tasty and tender . Husband had babotie- tried some and had such delicate flavour, gorgeous. We were 30mins away but definitely worth the drive round , would recommend you try it . And should mention guy serving us, Mike I think, offered a warm & welcoming visit.

With a few global giants nearby this independent knocks them for six in terms of quality and value. Recently reopened, post covid closure and I urge people to support this and other independent businesses, but only if they deserve it as this one clearly does. I had a bacon and a square sausage roll for breakfast and both were lovely. Returned on my last day for another bacon roll and had a couple of takeout rolls for later on the long train ride back home to Birmingham. Nice staff, nice place, deserves support. Recommended.

We have enjoyed visiting The Aizle many times over the past several years for both soup and a toastie or tea/coffee and cake. The staff are always friendly and efficient but the main attraction is the cakes which, although pricey are absolutely delicious. We had visited in May and had two teas and an americano coffee with hot milk and of course the cakes. Unfortunately, when we went there at the weekend, it is now apparently the practice to charge extra for the massive expense and effort involved in steaming a spoonful of milk to have with the coffee which means that a small cup of americano coffee which costs £2.65, presumably with cold milk, now has a surcharge of 75p, making it £3.40. We visit many restaurants and cafes and no-one else makes this additional charge so it really seems like greed. We won't be back.

Beautiful little place serving tasty coffee & a fabulous menu. We only had scones which are freshly made & super tasty but I would prefer clotted cream not squirty cream. Friendly staff & fab decor & comfy seats. The window display is beautiful
