Food is always excellent here, and fantastic and friendly service. A lovely cosy bistro that I can't wait to go back to again.

Disappointing dinner Saturday, the beef bourguignon didn't have a red wine sauce, no mushrooms, and no baby onions and min flavour, just basic beef stew, the cassoulet was more like a very thick stew in a small heated up dish, been here many times over the last few years, let's hope this was their off day...

Inexplicably I managed to get a table in here on Friday evening with my brother without booking! Absolute gem of a restaurant- lovely staff, relaxed setting and the food was really fabulous. The main was perfectly proportioned to allow for desert without feeling like waddling out at the end of the experience. Genuinely can’t believe it hasn’t got a waiting list - will be back!

Came in here without a plan having never been here before, and was blown away by absolutely everything - the service, the wine, the menu, the food and the ambience were all absolutely spot on. Will be coming back!

Some of the best food we've ever had! Went in on a whim, no idea what to have so just picked stuff at random. The best onion soup and I still dream of their tuna tartare! Genuinely French with a small independent family run team. Would recommend for couples and small groups in the area.

Really quite bad. I hate to do this to a small restaurant but the meal wasn't acceptable at all. The food was dull, unseasoned and in some cases undercooked. It genuinely boggles my mind at some of these reviews. The service was pretty much none existent and I felt unwelcomed as soon as I came in due to the atmosphere. It has so much potential. Please to the owners just take time to review and fine tune your menu...

What more can I say I've give it five on every point fantastic restaurant

Even though the food is good and the prices reasonable cant say the same about their air filtering/extraction or ventilation system or A/C in summer(non existent) Your clothes stench from the food odours that linger inside, in winter much worse. I had to send my coat to cleaners to get it smell clean. Owners need to seriously seek to fix this issue.

Classic French food at reasonable prices. Owners/chef on site. Friendly service. 2 people, 3 courses with wine £85 well spent. Looking forward to going back.

My favourite French place in South London! Hidden away down a side road you’ll find a cosy restaurant. I’ve tried the steak tartare, the French onion soup and the moules marinere and everything was divine and made to perfection. Ugh I love this place so much I could give it 10 stars if I could

This is a delightful family run local bistro similar to local restaurants you find all over France. I'm not giving 5 stars because there's always room for improvement and maybe after my next visit I'll up the stars! Food is excellent and service is charming. Go there and see for yourself!

A small but very cosy restaurant! Really enjoyed the chill atmosphere there. We went there for dinner before we move of Penge, and it turns out to be a good choice! P.s. onion soup could be more oniony 🧅

We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Exquisite food served in a friendly and homely atmosphere accompanied by a great selection of French cidres and wines. Book in advance as this place is (deservedly) very popular.

Support local! It's only for the best, where amazing put their heart and soul into beautiful and traditional cuisines. Thank you for an amazing experience, we had a lovely 3 course meal. Excellent value of money. The steak tartare was done to perfection. I will definitely be coming back !

Amazing little French bistro with authentic and delicious food. So tasty and all food was served fresh and piping hot. Lots of régional dishes including cassoulet de Toulouse and Tartiflette, along with more well known dishes such as boeuf Bourguignon. There are also crêpes and galettes available. The staff are friendly and helpful. I'd reccomend booking a table as it is quite a small restaurant, which is nice as it makes it cosy. Thank you for a great time and see you again soon 😄

Hidden gem! Great little find. A slice of rural France in the middle of London. Lovely food and lovely staff. Would highly recommend. Especially the beef bourgion!

Wonderful, intimate and casual dining place. We had galettes for lunch. Lovely flavours especially the Iberique. The snails were cooked just right with gorgeous melted garlic butter. Pancakes for dessert were enjoyed by all. Definitely authentic enough with French music adding to the ambience and friendly staff. We will definitely come back again.

Great find in my neighbourhood. Nice intimate room, friendly efficient service and very good Northern French food featuring Galettes, Breton Cidre, Moules. I had a very good beef bourguignon followed by an Apple and cream crepe. We will be back.

We have had take away/cook at home food from Creperie Chez yves a few times in the last few months of lockdown and it is all really delicious, great value and a treat to have at home. We can’t wait to visit properly when restaurants open up!

Tried this after an ad popped up on Facebook. The food all comes ready to cook or reheat at home with everything you need.We tried the escargot which were freshly prepared garlicky and delicious. The confit de canard was stunning.Price wise this was an absolute bargain. I would highly recommend and will be ordering for valentines night!

I admire this place! They provide tasty dishes, their menu is nice, The chief cook in that spot is very trained, I like a lot trying all their food. The dishes are always good, the service towards the guests is agreeable. I go often to this restaurant and I was never unhappy. Highly recommended.

They offer a large variety of fresh food. I like eating here. Staff members are always helpful, prices are convenient and the spot is always neat.

We're enjoying the deli products while we wait for the restaurant to reopen when restrictions lift. Superb Morbier and Tomme cheeses last week. Grand merci!

Delicious food in an authentic setting, couldn't recommend highly enough

Always have a brilliant evening at this local gem. Food is high quality and service is superb. It also doubles as a great deli during the day with a great selection of cheese and meats as well as dry and tinned French goods. I would recommend booking in advance.

Friendly restaurant, great food.

I have lived in SE London for 20 years and this is the only constantly very good food around with Tratoria Raffaele in sydenham. Beautiful little restaurant which has evolved into one of the best food treat in South East London. Good savoury french galettes and sweet crepes, excellent boeuf bourguignon, poulet a la creme with mushrooms, duck legs coocked in goose fat and tartiflette but also rillettes, terrine, and excellent snails. They now serve oven melted Vacherin with potatoes and charcuterie... it's big and an absolute treat for 2 or 4 persons. And in the background all the french hits mainly from the 50s to the 90s.. Edit Piaf, Charles Aznavoure, Jaques Brel etc...

Favourite place. Top tip tastes. The selection french of foods and appetitive descriptions make it worth travelling via burgundy for the evening. Try a veggie option. Speak to the folks very friendly. :) Open on Monday!

Amazing crepes! Onion soup lacked flavour and the onions were close to raw. However, all the crepes were delicious, and the service was friendly and fast despite there only being one server.

Wow! - a gem of place. It's the first time we've been here (tonight, Monday) and will be coming back soon. Nice ambiance, and quality food, with decent portions (but not too big thankfully). I had the Tartiflette and my partner had the Saumon Fume (gallete). Both were fantastic. When the friendly waitress/owner(?) came round to ask how it was going, all I could do was nod. For dessert I had the Alaska crepe and vanilla ice cream, with the Cointreau on the crepe lit by the waitress. Hands down the best crepe I've had so far. My partner had the Creme Brulle, which she thought was great. It didn't stop her scraping the remainder of the Cointreau and ice cream from my plate.

We went with a friend who had recommended Chez Yves and we weren't disappointed. Family run and food is cooked to order so somewhere to go for a leisurely meal. We enjoyed mussels followed by cassoulet (with goose and Toulouse sausage), then delicious crepe suzette for dessert; the citrus sauce was wonderful and a good slug of Cointreau was poured over and flambeed at the table. Most enjoyable meal and very rewasonably priced - we'll be back.

Charming little Bistro excellent cider and a varied scummy menu.

Después de planear visitar este restaurante por un tiempo, finalmente tuve la oportunidad de ir allí para celebrar un cumpleaños con la familia. El ambiente interior es encantador, acogedor y relajante con buena música de fondo. La comida y el vino eran deliciosos y el personal era muy acogedor, atento y flexible para satisfacer las necesidades dietéticas de mi esposo.¡Qué suerte tener este restaurante en nuestro vecindario, sin duda volveremos!

Authentic French cuisine cooked with fresh ingredients! I'm so glad that I found this place in Penge. I went there countless times and I've never been disappointed. The mussels are excellent and so are the gallettes. It's nice and cosy, with French music and a French chef. I'd recomend this place to everyone!

I’ve been to this place several times, and it’s consistently lovely. I have trouble convincing visiting family to go anywhere else as the quality to value ratio is almost impossible to beat. It has a cosy and relaxed atmosphere, and the menu goes far beyond just crepes/galettes, also offering classics like mussels, steak tartare, duck confit and tartiflette, along with some of the best chips in London!

Great french cuisine in this lovely hidden gem in Penge. Very nice and friendly service, nice atmosfere, delicious food, very good french wines and ciders. We had galette st jacques and steak tartare and they were just fantastic! Very tasty starters and desserts too. Definitely will be back!

Excellent food, great service, great atmosphere well worth a visit for authentic French food

Took my French husband here for a meal last night with high expectations due to other reviews. The woman serving us seemed harassed and not happy when we spoke French, saying she didn’t understand.We ordered onion soup, which was pale and insipid and came with a small ramekin of cheese on the side not melted over the top , rather mysterious and something neither of us have ever encountered.They were out of stock of a fair few beers and ciders although the ones we did end up with were excellent.The Steak Tartare was so salty it was inedible and we sadly had to return it to the kitchen, and my husband was presented with all the ingredients to make it himself- again rather odd. The rest of the meal was good and we probably will go back as we so badly want to support a local French Restaurant.

Visited here this week and had a very good evening with authentic French food and some good French house wine. All the classic dishes available and tonight we had Beef Bourguignon, Galettes (savoury and sweet) and profiteroles. It has a good atmosphere and wonderful to have a French restaurant in the middle of Penge!

Just discovered this gem. Lovely food in a delightful rustic setting. Our little dog was allowed in and he was very good. Took two friends and it was a fabulous and relaxed evening.

This is a great little restaurant tucked away in Penge. Lovely, rustic French food with no pretentious attachment. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, simple, but very tasty food, the high is consistently great - this isn't my first visit. We have taken small children with us too and it was relaxed and easy and very welcoming. Make sure you book a table though, it's a popular place. Well worth a visit!

I have visited this gem before. It is such a lovely, authentically French creperie and restaurant with a great atmosphere. It is run by a French couple who are very welcoming and serve freshly-cooked, delicious food. Also a small, but well curated selection of French ciders and wines.I met a friend for lunch. We had yummy galettes (buckwheat pancakes) filled with spinach, mushrooms and goats cheese) accompanied by a proper side salad with excellent home made vinaigrette. Accompanied by refreshing Normandy cider.There are other lovely dishes on the menu including meat, fish and seafood. On the 3rd Thursday of each month there is live music in the evening.We met a French lady who lives locally eating there. She said it’s like being back home in France.Do go and visit - you win’t Regret it.

This restaurant is really authentic. The food is prepared on the spot and you can tell. Yves is the chef-owner and seeing as on my latest visit it wasn't busy he came out for a chat. The quality of the ingredients he uses totally reflects the taste of the dishes served. A gem in the centre of Penge, we are lucky indeed!

A lovely rustic traditional French restaurant. Lovely for families including babies and we took our small well behaved dog and had an excellent meal. Great service, fabulous staff.
