Creme De La Creme Bistro in South Lanarkshire

Went to the cafe today excited to try it after seeing Instagram posts, the place was freezing we had to keep our jackets on the whole time the waitress suggested where we sit is the warmest place and would close the door. People who came in after us got served before us we only ordered very simple dishes such as a sandwich, eggs Benedict and a pancake for my toddler the service was very slow I had to go and ask when it would be ready The place was quiet in general ourselves and two others customers. For the length of time we waited the food wasn’t great and the prices don’t reflect the quality of the food overall one of the worst cafes I have been.

Visited for a lunch, we both had soup with mussels and the lamb for our mains, the food was amazing, the lamb was cooked to perfection and the mussels were tasty and of a good size. The service and decor was excellent as was the price. Another quality restaurant in Uddingston, definitely worth a visit.

Went for brunch, 10.30 on a Saturday morning. Quickly seated and drinks order taken. Friendly staff. Acceptable wait for food. Nice tasty bacon roll for me and pancakes for the kids also went down well. Pleasant exchange with the ?owner/manager on paying the bill who seemed grateful for our custom. This is a promising new business. Suggestions for development: All drinks to be clearly visible and on the menu - I’d probably have opted for the more expensive looking orange juice rather than the basic concentrate that I got . Maybe even freshly squeezed on site...? Kids portions - pancake probably too big for most little kids to finish. Was nice though. We didn’t see a kids menu. Make huevos rancheros?? All in all a good visit and we would go back again.

Visited the restaurant for the first time on a 5PM deal with my wife. Two courses for £15 was the best value for money food we both have had for a very long time. The starters comprising of pate for my wife and scallops for me were both superb; the mains of chicken breast on the bone and cressingham duck breast served with a selection of market vegetables were, and I'm not exaggerating, outstanding. The chef obviously has a feel for food and that manifests itself in a wonderful and well presented menu; portions are adequate leaving for me at least - after a 15 minute break - just enough space for the magnificent 'Jaffa Cake' sponge that finished off a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant on the basis of what my wife I experienced.

My kids love the ice creams here, I love the sensible prices and friendly service. No request is too much hassle. All the ice creams are vegetarian and alcohol free with some being vegan too. Staff are ever so helpful and welcome kids warmly.

My wife had the day off therefore we thought would start the day with a breakfast out ... First time in this place and all was looking fresh and clean My wife ordered French Toast & coffee and really enjoyed it .. I got bacon rolls & coffee ... the rolls were great but the coffee wasn’t really nice .. lol maybe it’s me being a coffee snob ...it was passable but not the best ....the bacon made up for it lol

Had an early dinner here today. Was better than anything I have eaten locally. Mussels were awesome as was the sea bass and chicken supreme and presentation also excellent. Not what I expected. Was extremely well surprised. Top marks.

Tried Creme de la creme for breakfast today after visiting a couple of weeks ago with friends for coffee and cake. Both visits have been good, the cakes look fantastic and the taste lives up to the expectation! Breakfast today was eggs benedict for me and pancakes and bacon with syrup for hubby, both dishes nicely presented and very tasty. Service was friendly, polite and swift. We also popped in one evening last week for an ice cream which was on offer at £1 for a cone, the salted caramel was fab! Decor all very smartly done, definately worth a visit!

We dropped in for a scone and tea and stayed for an amazing Scottish Breakfast. The owner was very skilled in culinary arts & helpful with hints for places to visit.

My husband and I visited for lunch a few months ago, shortly after the bistro opened. Our initial impression was of poor, slow service (which we found out was due to a staff member calling in sick) however our food was very nicely presented and it tasted beautiful, so we put the service issue down to teething problems and decided to try again. We visited for breakfast today. Again service was very slow, both in terms of table service and delivery of food, giving impression of understaffing. On arrival, our table was dirty and we had to ask for it to be wiped. The floor around our table was also dirty with crumbs and bits of food, although the waitress did sweep it when we pointed it out. My poached eggs and toast were lovely, with perfectly cooked eggs and very nicely toasted bread. My husband had full cooked breakfast however the square sausage and black pudding were significantly over cooked, dried out and inedible. Beans were cold and when his meal was delivered he was advised that the side portion of mushrooms he ordered were not available. On giving the waitress his feedback when the plates were collected, we got a half hearted apology and were told she would pass our comments to the chef. When bill arrived, no gesture, or mention, was made in respect of the disappointing food, and we were also charged for the mushrooms we didn’t get! We left thinking that we probably won’t go back which is sad on the basis that we like to support local businesses and someone has invested a lot of money to get this very well decorated bistro up and running. This isn’t the end of our experience today however! As we were leaving, my daughter and her fiancé arrived for breakfast. They ordered two coffees and two portions of poached eggs on toast. Their coffees were served within 10 minutes or so of ordering, but after about 30 minutes of ordering their food, the waitress advised them that the breakfast food had run out and asked if they would like to order something different. Now bearing in mind they had only ordered poached eggs and toast, and there was still over 30 minutes of breakfast service still to run, I find this totally bizarre! Such a pity, but 4 customers will definitely not be returning.
