Cowtown Grill in Trafford

Paid for parking nearby to go here. To then walk to here to see they had decided to close early(its 8pm and says open till 10pm) really annoying that a business cant be bothered to update their business hours!

Something has changed at Cowtown and not for the better. Feels very grubby, no menus just laminated overused and dirty QR codes, our one looked like it had mould under the laminate. Lockdown was 4 years ago, get some decent menus. The food was ok when it arrived, poutine was very tasty, the chicken wings are smaller than they used to be and Halloumi was out of stock. Service was shocking, the table next to us, despite being seated well after us had their order taken first, there was over a 40 minute wait for anything to arrive and when it did the wings arrived at the same time as the mains. I asked for a knife and some serviettes, which didn’t materialise, I had to find my own from another table. They seemed very busy with take aways and I think this holds up seated orders, when we initially arrived and ordered there were only 6 tables seated. Disappointing

After ordering the most expensive pizza on the menu, I was extremely disappointed that the pizza I ordered was nothing like the discription. 1- no chicken 2 - pizza was very small for the price could have ordered a large pizza from Domino's for the same price 3 - mushroom overload and they weren't very nice 4 - overall pizza was soggy, bland and uninviteful Would not recommend this pizza.

Not bad. I had the tacos 🌮 😋 Food decent value but 5.95 for a 300ml bottle of beer is a bit poor. Worth a visit

The food here is incredible, really enjoyed my meal and finished every bite. Food arrived well presented and hot. I only took off a star in my review because they had no cocktails available the night we went which was a Saturday, and they were out of several other drinks we tried to order plus the seating is very uncomfortable. I was sat on a wooden slat bench and my butt kept going numb/getting sore. But I would deffo go back and take a pillow with me because the mama rama burger is amazing!

Delivery time was ridiculous and it was late! I got the wrong burger as well but I was that hungry I didn’t care anymore. At least it tasted good.

Fantastic food, there wasn't anything I didn't like. I gave a 4 star as It would have been good to have a paper menu over scanning the barcode. 3 piggies burger was most delicious and impressive looking burger ive ever had. Pizza was freshly made and the loaded fries were something else. Pleasant staff very accomadating. Nice little food venue. Will be going back for sure. Thank you Cowtown for a memorable afternoon

Food was absolutely outstanding. So tasty and fresh would definitely recommend this place. We had boneless chicken, dirty fries and 3 little pig burger and would give them all 5 starts.

My family, friends and I just ate there… wow! There was a bit of a wait… but, every bite is worth the wait! Still thinking about it!!! American all the way on Washway! Amazing service! Angeli was the perfect hostess and the chefs gave artistic service with real American flavours and creativity. Can’t say enough! Big Bad Wolf!!!! What!?!

Amazing food, friendly staff. Feels like a lovely family owned restaurant. We had the steak poutine and 3 Little Pigs Burger between us and both were delish (I'd actually say the poutine was better than most we had in Toronto). Very well priced and definitely worth a visit!

Delicious food. Had the rama burger last time which was 10/10. Definitely a top 10 burger I've eaten and I've eaten more than 10 burgers so I am credible. This time around I went for the black steak poutine. What a dish. That's all I'll say. This will be a restaurant I knock every menu item off eventually

Recommend by friends, on first look was not convinced. Was very quiet but was early evening on a week night. Glad it didn’t put us off as this place is SUPERB!!!! Staff are amazing and food is as sublime. Poutine is out of this world as are hotdogs, we will definitely be regulars. Thanks so much.

A true hidden treasure! Having eaten here a few times before heading to the Ice hockey game in Altrincham, this place completes an authentic Canadian experience. Whilst the food may take a little time to arrive, the wait is totally worth it. Whether it be a delicious burger, alternate style hotdog, amazing pizza or of course one of the many choices of signature poutine, this place never fails to satisfy and often exceed my desire for great, authentic comfort food. It's the real deal, Vanessa and her team are always friendly and accommodating and my friends kids say it's the best food and milkshakes they've ever had so I'm not going to argue with that! Keep up the great work guys, you're a credit to the community and your industry. See you again soon

Food was sublime the pizza was top notch and the burger was brilliant. Steak cooked to perfection.

We took my son for his 13th birthday and in his words it is “the best place on earth” with his dream menu of Oreo milkshake, Burger and cheese n’ Mac - everything tastes delicious. But what made it special was that all staff were absolutely lovely and attentive- he even received an unexpected ice cream with candle (on the house) with birthday music - we will definitely be returning!

we have ordered from here before and the delivery time is usually worth waiting for. unfortunately not on this occasion. the chicken wings where nice, the rest (burgers and poutine) was very disappointing. ordered food at 18:05 arrived 20:07.

Now the poutine here is amazing, I don’t usual go back to same place often but this place is an exception. The Keanu reeves poutine is very well balanced with a layer of chips in gravy with cheese curds followed by a bed of (Halal) BBQ USA beef brisket and long strands of crispy fried onions. Reasonably priced and a very warm welcome from the host. Everything a family run business should be.

Best burger I've had in a long time if not ever. Really good.

45 minutes until our food order was taken, thus 1hr 39 mins from our arrival until food arrived. Unfortunately the super friendly and welcoming lady assisting us was unable to make up for this. The atmosphere is also rather bare and the chairs rather uncomfortable. It wasn't desperately endearing to see the lax approach on who could stand in the kitchen too. Food was good but against the backdrop and the range of places taking up the business model of indulgent burgers, I doubt I'd return voluntarily.

The food arrived cold and unwrapped. The chicken was really dry and there were dried herbs on the chips, which my children didn’t like. Really disappointed

Wow!! The food was absolutely amazing! I would say it’s one of the best burgers I have ever had, I had the Macdaddy burger and it was unreal! I also had some of the miss piggy poutine chips which I shared with my friends which were to die for. The food was light and not heavy. Vanessa who served us was also so lovely! I can’t wait to try their sister restaurant opening in chorlton. I will definitely be back in the new year. One for the best places I have ate!

Great experience, was our first time eating here and we loved it. Very good food, didn’t expect such generous portions, very welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Was a perfect ending for our evening as a family of three. We had wings in barbecue sauce, boneless wings in sweet chilli sauce, fries, kids pizza, desserts and drinks, everything was delicious and we cannot wait to come back and try more dishes.

I grew up in Sale, but left 22 years ago, & have returned to spend New Year with old friends. Stumbled across Cowtown when looking for somewhere close to our apartment for dinner & what a find!! Vanessa greeted us with a warm welcome & we loved the decor. We definitely had EBTB & ordered way too much food, so as delicious as every dish was, we had no hope of finishing it. Vanessa gave us a load of take away boxes & we’re now looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow. Without a doubt, a 10/10 restaurant. We’ll definitely be back.

We waited 50 mins for our food and then the starters came out with the mains which was odd, some of the food was cold which was a shame because it actually tasted quite nice. There was no physical menu. You had to scan a QR code to view the menu. As we were sat there for a while waiting for the food I googled the restaurant and IT HAS A ONE FOR A FOOD HYGIENE RATING which equals ‘major improvement necessary’ which put me off the food. They don’t have the standard for draught beer and there wasn’t any friendless to the waiter who was dressed in a hoodie and trainers. Shame that their rating for hygiene is so low because some of the food tastes nice. Wouldn’t be returning.

If you haven’t visited Cowtown, you need to add it to your list of places to try! The burgers are top-notch & the wings are unreal (my friends and I had the buffalo, honey hot and bang bang). Highly recommend!

No heating. Small heaters at each table. Food tasted ok but felt unwell afterwards. Not as good as it used to be and a little overpriced.

Big thank you to Cowtown. Due to a mix up Just Eat driver delivered our food to the wrong address. Downtown were lovely about the whole thing and instantly re cooked the whole order fresh for us and threw in free deserts to apologise for the delay. The food was fantastic as always and well worth the (extended) wait.

Delivery took an hour and a half, food wasn't hot, wings weren't great and sauce, was too sweet, cheese on poutine tasted of nothing. A burger, 6 small wings and chips was £35 - never again.

Food was amazing. Portions were huge. You won’t leave hungry. Service a little slow that didn’t dampen the experience. Can’t wait to go back.

Unfortunately, this salad that I order a lot was 1/3 less than it usually is. The chicken is usually filled to the top of the container and there was half of the lettuce, tomatoes and dressing. I am very disappointed.

The food was amazing , spicy, sweet, creamy, and crunchy I had a Keanu Reeves Poutine. The server was a Canadian lady who was really helpful, even letting my wife try the beer before we bought it. FANTASTIC value for money. Really nice atmosphere .

It was my first time eating here and I thought the service could have been better. It was fairly quiet and would have appreciated some welcome and recommendations or help with the specials. Took a while to get attention so appeared to have been neglected. There was no physical menu. You had to scan a QR code to view the menu. It would be helpful to have some photos of the dishes on the digital menu for reference. The food however was delicious. I couldn’t finish the tacos as we had also ordered wings for starters. Portion sizes were generous. Unfortunately my initial taco selection was unavailable so they gave me pulled pork with crispy onions instead. My friend enjoyed the hot dog.

one of the best restaurants I have ever ever been to, we were in the area and was unsure on where to eat I came across this place randomly on Google and thought we would give it a try. It’s a little bit of a walk from the centre but nothing bad. we visited in April and I’m still dreaming about it now (in September) the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Such a reasonably priced place not to mention the portions are absolutely massive. But overall, the food is beautiful. So so so so so good I can’t recommend this place enough!!!

Better than the last time we went - the burgers are absolutely massive and it ends up being a knife and fork job. Couldn't have my first choice of burger as no pulled beef so went with my second choice but it was still tasty. The only thing I would like to see is some more spicy options.

Really poor performance from Cowtown this evening! Order arrived minus the bottle of coke, though food was good as usual. Delivery driver just returned with said bottle of coke, which was a 330ml bottle for which I paid £3.75? then you tell me "that's the price of it"! Yet you advertise and charge the same price for a 2ltr bottle of sprite? Well this is one customer you have just lost!

Do not order food direct on website or any form of take out. 2 hour wait and counting for food. Regular phone calls to check for food.

Yay what a place to be taken. Yeah the burgers are dear. Yeah the buyers are real, yeah the buyers are truly tasty filling and immaculately presented. The poutine delicious well the two that we shared. Service was friendly, smiley, welcoming and relaxing. Man all I want to say is I want to come here again and I live 90 miles away. Keep up the great work you’re doing is a smashing place to visit…. Oh yeah there’s a few beers on too. ❤️

Seriously tasty and hearty food!!! After a long day, my wife and I took a chance on this unassuming little place. We were quickly seated and placed our orders with the friendly waitress. When our food arrived, the chicken had sauce on when we asked for it to be plain. The staff were very apologetic, and quickly cooked up a fresh batch and bought it over. When we tucked in we realised that the food was AMAZING! The Big Bad Wolf burger was a beast with great tasting brisket, and the chicken (super crispy batter) and fries were spot on. The milkshake was also thick and very tasty. We left absolutely stuffed and would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through the area!

The poutine here is outrageously good. We got Le Canadien and The Big Lebowski (without blue cheese) and I've honestly never enjoyed a take out more than this. Very much recommended, we will be returning

Ordered online having looked at the online menu. Our order was £35 or so we thought…. Ordered two burgers, two poutines and some chicken tenders. Got there to collect and was slapped with a £49.50 bill!…. Definitely not worth the money at all!, this has to be addressed because two different menus are available online for the same place and causes alot of confusion!. Food was ok at best the poutine was just cheap cheese not curds, no real flavour to the gravy. And the chicken tenders were the cheap frozen kind. I wouldn’t order again the chicken and chips went in the bin. Theres much nicer food from Yard Burger 0.5miles round the corner .. doing everything fresh and cheaper. Edit: Lol I’m very sorry you are in denial ! Yes I ordered online and priced it up from one of the two Menus on the way to collect. It certainly didn’t come to £49.50! The tenders were not freshly made they were frozen. Why waste my time and petrol visiting to watch the chef take a bag of tenders out the freezer to cook in some sauce ?. The mind boggles to why you think I’d actually do that. Not good at all. And as for promoting another business through my “lies” please. Yard Burger craps on Cowtown. PROPER food!.

Really good, classic, fresh, homemade burgers. Unfortunately priced north of £10 for just a burger with no fries, is for me a deal breaker and most likely won't be coming back.

Amazing !!!! it wasn't a restaurant. It's a house full of LOVE and ENERGY! you don't just eat, you are full of taste, although they were busy, the wait for service was short. Until today, I had never experienced the taste of a burger in this way. The chef did MAGIC! highly recommended.

First time visiting and must be the nicest burger I have had! All the ingredients were fresh! Staff straight away made us feel welcome and was quick at taking our order! Highly recommended and will definitely be back! Thank you!

The welcoming and the food was amazing, as soon as we walked in we we’re greeted with welcoming smiles and sat straight down, we both went for burgers and they did not disappoint, very fresh and the meat had so much flavour and cooked perfectly, also shared a poutine and they were equally as good! Full of flavour plenty to share, highly recommend and will certainly be back.

My partner took me here for a surprise dinner date, and as a Canadian living in the UK I was so happy to see the restaurant doing so well! Bonus points for having my favourite root beer (a&w) in stock tor rootbeer floats <3 we will definitely be coming back depsite it being a bit of a journey away from us.

Delicious food again but ordered a takeaway from their website rather than through just eat, food took over 90 minutes to arrive. We called twice and were told it was on the way which was clearly a lie as we live less than 10 minutes from the restaurant and were offered a complimentary drink (which we didn’t receive). Very disappointed

Burger really good, service a little disjointed, issue resolved quickly, servers friendly, the decor is somewhat basic. In my opinion with some renovation It could be a very popular option for a greater variety of clientel. Would unfortunately not return but that's down to the decor and ambience not the food.

Food was very very good but waiting an hour from ordering to the food arriving with no communication is unacceptable in the hospitality secto. Fair enough you're busy with other customers and Deliveroo but speak to your customers, its not difficult

Food was good, place was freezing though!!! and whilst it wasn't busy the staff weren't that attentive, Scanning a code on your phone and reading the menu really takes the feel out of a restaurant where you can cast your eyes over the entire menu and go back to other things, you don't get the same experience on your phone, it's rubbish We would return, as the food is good

The food is decent but the service in the restaurant is poor and the delivery service is even worse. Decided to give them one more chance but never again. It’s not worth the hassle.

Worst place I've ever eaten tonight four of us and all had issues with the food. First: starter bbq boneless wings was cold and tasted like curry not bbq told the waitress she said ok and walked off. Second: main meal came my poutine came after watching it on the heat lamp for 15 minutes as the guy was taking pictures of the food when it came there was a skin on top of my gravy, my 3 pig burger was stone cold and tasted like pure salt and the coleslaw was just raw cabbage that's not coleslaw. ( I can teach you how to make it if you like) again told the waitress and was told there will be no refund as the manager was not there I ended up taking it home adding some flavour to it and cooked it myself. However the coke was great very bad service and needs a proper chef

Absolutely amazing food but they don't mess around with the spice level on the spiciest wings. The second spiciest level is good but the spiciest one will make you question your life choices.

INSANELY good food!!! i've been here a few times and tried a few different things on the menu and was so impressed every time! it's done up really nicely inside too, with canada-themed decorations everywhere! service is lovely (the ordering system is pretty unique where you look at the menu on your phone but use a coloured light system to let the wait staff know you're ready to order?) and prices are totally reasonable for the quality and portions! my friend is vegan and while there are no vegan options on the menu (there ARE vegetarian), the staff were very happy to make alterations to accommodate this (although i will say his burger looked a lot less exciting than the standard menu options, as a lot of the toppings have some form of dairy)
