Me and my husband absolutely loved this cafe. I had the sausage cob with cheese and chilli jam and my husband had a cheese and ham toasty, amazing. Staff were really friendly and would highly recommend. Thank you

Absolutely delicious bacon and Brie crusty roll. The best I have had. Despite being short staffed the lady was amazing. Beautiful place with beautiful food.

This place is a superb little place that catered for my family just right. We ate there twice for lunch and is definitely on our list of lunch places when we come to the lakes next time. Food was spot on, toasties oozing cheese, generous bacon butty and lovely cakes. Staff super friendly and attentive.

We popped in her for lunch, and we were glad we did. It's a great little cafe. We were served straight away and it didn't take long for our food to come. The toasties were delicious and very reasonably priced. We would definitely return if we were ever in the area!

I certainly WON’T be coming back. There’s no Gluten Free options and they’ve got a strange idea over recycling - as the BEST way to recycle is to NOT NEED to recycle n the first place, but to use PROPER cutlery and crockery, then to wash up, rather than using paper plates, cups and cutlery for eat in customers. Cutlery and crockery can be used MULTIPLE TIMES, rather than having to go through the recycling process.

Sarah & Suzi gave a memorably warm welcome to this gem of a place. The caramel millionaires was generously more caramel than shortbread and the brownie equally delicious. Top of the pops though was the sausage roll - massively more sausage than roll, kept me going all day. There was also a drink and toastie offer that looked great vfm, but by the time we'd polished off the great coffees and bites, we were done. But we will be back Suzi & Sarah. Thank you for brightening a dull and wet day.

We both had the toastie with coffee offer, which we agreed was good value. The food arrived quickly and the toastie fillings were generous and tasty. The coffee was very good too. We just couldn't resist the lovely cakes on display at the counter. One of us had the salted caramel slice and the other chose the chocolate muffin. Both were absolutely delicious. The service and atmosphere were excellent.

We had looked at other overpriced cafes but this looked a better price. No gluten free but they kindly offered to make a salad. Family said sandwiches nice, my coffee was delicious. Maybe if they got gluten free bread that might be nice. Staff were really lovely and friendly and it was also dog friendly. Great value.

I went to get their toastie and coffee special at 1.30pm which was still advertised , however I was told they aren't doing food anymore as they were under staffed. There was only 1 table in the restaurant and I only wanted take away. Disappointed

Main courses were delicious, the only big let down were the deserts, Nutella sundae with whipped cream, it isn't a sundae without ice-cream and sticky toffee pudding with whipped cream, when stated on menu vanilla ice-cream , with no discount because of alternative, should of came out to say they had run out of ice-cream

Great cafe in a superb location offering job opportunities to young adults with disabilities surrounded by support, deserves to be a success. Really enjoyed our visit plenty of seats both inside & out, the service was great & the staff member really engaging, only minor gripe was it stated bacon baps/rolls & we got ciabatta rolls which are a different texture & more difficult to consume when slightly older, maybe worth just checking the menu & if things differ, to advise customers, that aside, still a very pleasant visit & happy to contribute to such a great cause!

Thought we would give this place a try as we saw it when coming back from Lodore Falls a few weeks ago and thought location was good. Booked Sunday lunch for 2 adults and 2 teenagers as a pre-Christmas family lunch out. On arrival no one greeted us and we waited in line at the bar to be told, not shown to, which one our table was and to come back to the bar to order. This is fine but at hotel restaurant I would expect staff to come and take our order - main course Sunday lunch £24.95, burgers the kids had £21.95 so not cheap. Inn on the Lake Glenridding for example is less expensive and far superior in location, class, service and food quality. I ordered roast beef and when it arrived I actually got lamb - no problem mistakes happen - but it did mean i had to wait for it to be replaced whilst the rest of my family ate their meals. When beef arrived it was dried out, as if heated under a grill. No one checked on us during the meal but asked if everything was ok when they came to clear. I told them my beef wasn't great - half of it uneaten - and they said i should have told them and they would have replaced. Fine, but bearing in mind i had already waited for it to be replaced once and eaten after others had finished i didn't really want to go for round 3. My meal was removed from the bill but the experience for a family lunch out was spoilt. We were in the restaurant area that doesn't allow dogs but close to the open doors to the dog friendly area - I love dogs but the smell coming through wasn't pleasant from time to time, especially when eating. Generally i think it is expensive and disappointing for what it is, pub type service and food at restaurant prices. £9.50 for puddings for example is excessive for the environment. A shame as location is great to stop for lunch if walking around Derwentwater but I wouldn't recommend based on pour experience today. As a final comment the staff did seem genuinely apologetic.
