Great cafe in a superb location offering job opportunities to young adults with disabilities surrounded by support, deserves to be a success. Really enjoyed our visit plenty of seats both inside & out, the service was great & the staff member really engaging, only minor gripe was it stated bacon baps/rolls & we got ciabatta rolls which are a different texture & more difficult to consume when slightly older, maybe worth just checking the menu & if things differ, to advise customers, that aside, still a very pleasant visit & happy to contribute to such a great cause!

Stumbled on this lovely cafe in a park in Keswick. It was nice to sit outside looking out across the park whilst drinking lattes made and served by friendly efficient staff. The cakes looked delicious but we resisted. It’s well worth a visit and only a few minutes away from the busy town centre.

We visited Cafe West a couple of times during a stay at Keswick in October 2021. We have used before the world locked down because of the pandemic and are pleased to say it was good to be back enjoying the food and ambience at Cafe West Keswick once more. What a great little cafe this is: good food baked on the premises, a lovely setting on the ground floor of the museum/art gallery and on the edge of Fitz Park and really friendly staff, some of whom have special needs and Cafe West provides them with the opportunity to obtain qualifications and experience in the service sector. In addition to everything else it is such an innovative concept and definitely worth a visit. One of the visits we had was on a Saturday morning after the weekly Keswick parkrun when there is a special parkrun offer breakfast available for those who want to meet up with others. A lot of the people who took part in the parkrun went on to Cafe West this was a busy period for them but the staff coped with this with the usual friendly and professional way they do at all times. The second recent visit to Cafe West was with a member of the family with a wheelchair. As the cafe is on the ground floor this is a really good place for anyone with a wheelchair, rollator walker, walking stick, etc. On a nice, sunny day (as this happened to be) it can be pleasant to sit at the outside picnic benches and enjoy the view of the park and the fells.

We called in for coffee whilst visiting Keswick. Firstly can I say what a credit all the staff are for this charming cafe in the park. They were all so friendly and chatty, wanting to know all about our day. The service and quality of drinks was simply fantastic. Hungry i popped in for a basic fried egg butty, £4.50, perfect- Parkrun special it comes with a coffee and they let me upgrade to a latte for just 50p Absolutely worth every penny, best eg butty in such a long time, ciabatta bread bun that was perfectly soft and fresh with the eggs fried just so that they dont drip yolk down your top. Well done ladies and gents, keep it up cos i'll be back for another.

The coffee was really good and the sausage rolls are of excellent quality. They serve cakes, burgers, soups and sandwiches and all were reasonably priced. This café is downstairs from the excellent Keswick Museum. It's run by a local organisation that offers adults with learning disabilities the chance to have a job and get some work experience. I popped in on my own for just a sandwich after a morning walking on the fells and loved the friendly atmosphere. It's dog friendly which is also a plus in my book. The staff are all friendly and chatty and if one of them breaks into song, they're soon all at it. My sandwich, (with it's accompanying crisps and salad) was actually more than I could eat. In the past I've enjoyed good coffee and scrummy cakes outside and occasionally inside this cafe. This time, too cold for outside, I overruled my friends who said they wouldn't go in because there would be children. I said there were unlikely to be school parties at the weekend. I was wrong. Not school parties but deafeningly-screaming small children running riot. Not safe in a cafe with staff carrying trays and hot drinks, and impossible to relax in the din. The food wasn't presented well and not really good enough. Jacket potatoes past their best - though it was late lunchtime - with a lot of good filling but a salad of lumps of cabbage in an odd mustardy dressing and gritty leaves. Ice cream served in an odd dish. The coffee not hot enough.

No atmosphere, no service and definitely no welcome! Go to McDonalds, Boyds or the Harbour Bar much more welcoming for tourists.
