Tucked away but right in the centre of Brackley, this was a great find for a relaxed lunch. Fabulous generously filled doorstep sandwiches with lovely local bread, very friendly service. Temping specials on the blackboard. Definitely worth seeking out.

I went today with a guest for lunch and have done so in the past several times. Brackley is a charming ancient town with great character and interest. The Courtyard Cafe is tucked away from the Market Place, near the eighteenth century Town Hall, in a former stable yard area with other buildings. The nineteenth century stone arch adjacent, has recently been expertly restored. I can highly recommend this cafe, for coffee, breakfast or lunch. It is a delightful venue, also with outdoor seating, in a lovely setting. The interior is tastefully decorated and a very pleasant place to be. The food is excellent, very good value, home and freshly cooked. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Highly recommended, so do please support this independent small business and pass the word around to those who might like to go, too.

We are regulars in this cafe. We have tried most of the the other cafes in the town at some point, usually on a Monday or Tuesday when the Courtyard is closed. It has the best coffee and a good selection of cakes. More substantial eats are also excellent and are freshly prepared. Prices are very reasonable. Happy to recommend.

We popped in to this café for a quick bite to eat but were too late as food service had ended. Nevertheless the very helpful staff were able to serve us some food. I had the smashed avocado on toasted sourdough bread and my wife had the pancakes. As the portion of pancakes was too large for my wife's appetite they very helpfully served a half portion. This café only opened in December last year but deserves to do well based on the warm and friendly reception we received and the quality of the food which is reasonably priced.

We are lucky in Brackley that we have a great choice of cafes, but this one is our firm favourite. We have had many lunches here so decided to try the breakfast. We called in for lunch as it was a nice day and they have outdoor seating. We had a lovely salad with lots of different ingredients: roasted vegetables, spicy potato wedges, coleslaw, green salad, tomatoes, pitta bread and really nicely done Coronation Chicken. The portions were huge and just £7.95. Lovely coffee and service. Our favourite in Brackley for lunch.

I visited the Courtyard Cafe again recently with my family and 7 other friends. The food is delicious and such large amounts! One of my favourites is the cheese toastie - scrumptious thick homely bread and full of hot bubbling cheese! Coleslaw on the side if wanted. In fact, next time I will share one because unless one has an enormous appetite, it's too much! Their quiches are gorgeous too. One needs to visit and enjoy the lovely food! Not expensive either!

No volveré.

My father and I went into this cafe on Saturday the 27th of July. We ordered 2 paninis. After half an hour we asked politely if they were on their way. The older lady behind the counter so rudely replied to me in a harsh tone "they will be, everything is made to order it doesn't just sit there there are people before you." I was so shocked I asked my dad to get our money back and leave as we had to get somewhere. Again when he went up and politely said "I'm sorry we have to leave" he was snapped at saying "they don't just sit there ready to go in." There were only 4 tables in this was terrible. A nearby table heard this and were shocked at the way we were spoken to. This cafe clearly does not want repeat custom and we shall be telling our friends and family not to go here.

It serves a varietof breakfast foods, midmorning 11s, lunches and teas. All freshly cooked and cheerfully served. The staff are most friendly and helpful. It seems to be a hub for local customers to meet, chat and eat. There are copies of the daily papers to read. It is suitable for families with young children and there is a choice ofcomfy settee seating and coffee tables for relaxing in as well as cheerful wipeable clothed tables and chairs inside and outside in the courtyard. Our most recent visit was with our 35yr old son and his partner who had just been on a safari holiday in Kenya. My wife and I visited this café to break up a long journey. We had been there a umber of years ago for lunch and had felt it was poorly run and over priced. We were looking to have a drink and some cake and considered going to the Costa which had opened up on the main road but wanted to support the local area. The café was quiet at 3-ish and we were promptly served, we ordered two pieces of cake, a cappuccino and a milkshake. Our first issue was that the milkshake price wasn't displayed and the woman after some looking around decided that it cost £4 (four!) which I didn't question in the hope it was something very special. The drinks came and the coffee was scalding hot and completely tasteless. The milkshake was like Crusha mix with some ice cream, artificial flavour and served in a normal glass with no cream or anything fancy you'd expect when paying that price. The coffee cake I had had clearly been sat uncovered for most of the day and so was completely dried out. To say we were disappointed is an understatement, at least if we'd gone to Costa we would have received an average coffee and cake, it's a shame that I'm no longer willing to take that risk.

We both ordered toasted sandwiches - they took quite a while to arrive but were acceptable when they did. The layout of the cafe however is somewhat drafty with the main entrance opening directly into the restaurant - very cold on our backs whilst we sat at the table - this would not of course be a problem when the weather improves. There are a few tables available outside too.

Went there with a friend and ordered two full English breakfasts. Whilst the drinks came fairly quickly, the breakfasts took about 25 min to arrive. My friends sausage was completely flat (aren't sausages supposed to be round?) and mine was lukewarm and very dense. Can only conclude that they were warmed up in a microwave and my friends sausage "burst". Bacon, tomatoes, egg and toast were okay. Menu said "mushrooms" – I suspect if I had half a mushroom I would be lucky as there were five slices which was somewhat dry. Overall, everything was rather lukewarm. Only two sachets of sugar were offered on the saucer for a pot of tea - maybe better to have these on the table and let the customer decide how much they want. Shamefully, I've had a lot of full English breakfasts over the years and this was certainly takes the prize for the worst. The other reviews are quite positive and I can only assume that they didn't plump for the breakfast! On the plus side, the disabled toilet was spacious and reasonably clean. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I have to be honest based on the experience I had. I certainly won't be using this café again when journeying along the A43.

Afterwards we had a beautiful piece of cake each, my friend had a hot chocolate & I had a very nice capuccino. There were lots of gluten free options & they cater well for vegetarians. The service was excellent & we ended up chatting to the owner & another visitor after they'd closed. I'd defininitely visit again & would recommend it to anyone passing along the A43.
