We book a table at the Courthouse Friday nigh for a works outing. Honestly I have to say, a huge thank you to Helen and her staff, for making our night so special..the service we received was second to none, we were made to feel so welcome, our food was absolutely fantastic.5 star⭐ the waiters were so attentive. Brilliant night all round. Highly recommended 👌

My daughter had he birthday /wedding meal at the Courthouse on 11th March... Everything was just perfect the attention to detail was amazing... Helen was absolutely fantastic she made the experience just perfect... I would highly recommend the Courthouse the food and drinks were amazing thank you all for a lovely evening.

My partner and I came here in February for a meal. The service was excellent, the staff are obviously well trained in customer service, the right amount of attentive but not annoying. Food and drinks arrived in good time, nice atmosphere. We had salted chilli chicken and goats cheese starter (special) and then a burger and fish thai curry (special) both were piping hot and full of flavour. There was a great selection of cocktails and good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent we watched Celtic then rangers matches. Food delicious. Swally was thirst quenching.

Absolutely amazed by the impeccable cleanliness of the courthouse bar with regards to the covid19 Pandemic. Restaurant manageress Helen was more than attentive for myself and family members, each member of staff had great punctuality, professionalism and politeness. Amazing food as per usual and more than impressed again with the restaurant and bar staff.

We arranged my sisters ‘family hen party’ for the Courthouse Bar where we hired the VIP area. I can honestly say it all went fantastic thanks to bar manager Conal and his staff. He assisted with all the pre-planning, party theme decorations, arranging the hen video I had created to be played on their tv screens, surprised us with the champagne toast with sparklers, served us the most delicious food platters, and ensured our every need was met. Simply a 5 star service from a beautiful, modern upmarket bar/restaurant. The perfect timing and smooth planning of everything meant we were all able to sit back and just enjoy the evening while he looked after us all, even making sure we all got home in one piece and sorting our taxis home. It is not often that one can say ‘nothing went wrong’, I truly believe this is down to the excellent service from Conal and his team!

Had pre-booked a table for 5 but were were squeezed around a table for 4 which was not very comfortable. Found the waitress to be quite dis-interested in us. Starter came down and only 4 sets of cutlery on the table which she did not notice, we had to ask someone else to bring us cutlery, we ordered wine for the meal and we were given 2 small wine glasses and two large wine glasses - waitress looked really annoyed when we asked for four wine glasses the same size. Apart from that the food was fairly good. I can only comment on my dish which was the duck. It was slightly overdone and only a small amount of sauce (as it was a bit dry a bit more sauce would have been welcome) but the flavour was good. I probably would give them another chance but because of the issues we had I can really only score them average for this visit.

Had a lovely night out our meals were delicious with fab service. The chicken tenders were yummy best batter I have had locally. Both mains were great and the profiteroles were outstanding for dessert.

I am a regular attendee of the courthouse bar in lurgan and I have to say Gareth is the best barman I have every had always very polite and always accommodating when comes to making drinks. He makes the best Singapore sling I have ever had. When it comes to food this bar is one of the best and Kyle and Helen are two of the best servers I have ever had when it comes to food. I cant reccomend this bar anymore as it is the beat in lurgan

What an exciting bar in such a small town. Called in last weekend with my husband, and asked what cocktails were available and the bartender Gareth I think?.. was more than enthusiastic to rhyme off the menu to me, asking me what I liked and even introducing some cocktails that weren't on the menu. I got the cucumber cocktail that he suggested and I must say it was on par with his service, absolutely impeccable. We will be back.

Its always good to find a venue which offers a selection of fish and knows how to cook it. However, it would help if all staff were informed about what is on the menu rather than having to check each time a question is asked. And once again I was reminded that I should never order coffee without specifying whether I want it with or after dessert. In this case, it was served well before dessert arrived.

Thank you so much for the beautiful vegan risotto. Great portion of fresh greens. The chocolate cake and ice-cream were yummy. And tea was piping hot!

Three family members met on the train on the Bangor to Portadown line at Lurgan Station. Within a very short walk we were at the Courthouse Bar for lunch. Fine range of lunch choices. We had good food, good service and good wine! Not too many there besides ourselves so it was as quiet as we like it for a family get together!

We visited the Courthouse for Sunday lunch mid September. Once again we were met by restaurant manager Helen who was her usual friendly self chatting away and seeing to anything we needed. The food once again was delicious and perfectly cooked and served. Highly recommend visiting the Courthouse if you haven’t tried it.

Celebrated a 40th birthday here with a large group of friends. Food and service was amazing with a large choice on the menu. Would definitely recommend.

In for a lunch with friends. Many beautiful dishes to choose from and daily specials. We were able to amend dishes to suit tastes with no issues. Portions could be a little bigger for some of the dishes but this is a minor complaint.

During my first visit to Northern Ireland I chanced upon this hostelry and was most surprised. The staff were most polite and spoke good English. I was there for an early dinner and the menu was varied and attractive. The interior of the courthouse is very clean and it is easy to imagine events of long ago when it did function as a courthouse.

We just had a family meal in the courthouse. Our waiter was helpful and efficient. The food was lovely.. The Salmon was cooked to perfection and the Lamb was so tasty. But this is not why we are leaving a five star review. Unfortunately a member of our dining party became suddenly ill while dining. We are so grateful to the staff for their proffessional and thoughtful reaction. We have to thank manager Helen who is quite obviously first aider trained and so proffessional. Our evening went from peaceful and delicious, to life threatening. Without the calm reaction of the staff, the courtesy of our fellow diners and the thoughtfulness of Helen we would have been lost. Luckily the member of our party has now made a full recover but we are very grateful to the staff, and cannot recommend the Courthouse more. Thank you so much x we will be very grateful and once we get over the shock we will come again and enjoy your delicious food, great service and super proffessional staff.

Hearing the negative reputation about Lurgan, I was pleased to find the Courthouse. The meal was of a high standard and the service was both prompt and friendly. Our waitresses Helen and Chloe, were very attentive but did not rush us. The duck was pink, as was the steak- perfect! The ambiance in the restaurant had just the perfect feeling of formality. When we finished, we went to the off sales. The lady, Aileen, serving us was very helpful. She understood our wine needs and her customer service was outstanding. This hidden treasure was a welcome surprise. I will recommend the Courthouse.

Myself and friends recently dined in the courthouse bar, absolutely amazing food from chef Gary. Service from waitress Sarah was impecable from start to finish. Danielle the bar supervisor was prompt and attentive. Absolutely amazing atmosphere with live music and massive range of cocktails. Couldnt be happier.

On holiday in the area visiting family and popped in for a drink. Was a bit nervous but the bar staff (ginger) was really nice and had good craic! Pineapple margaritas were gorgeous!! Couldn't have had a better more relaxed time!

We recently visited the courthouse for an evening meal and were definitely not disappointed. Great friendly atmosphere on arrival. Greeted by restaurant manager Helen and staff member Sarah on arrival we were seated with great efficiency. Drinks ordered, meal ordered and great friendly chat. Our meals when they arrived were absolutely fantastic with the perfect sized portions. Desserts were the perfect end to a perfect meal. Great credit to all the kitchen team on a wonderful meal and many thanks to Helen for a great experience. Would definitely highly recommend visiting the Courthouse to anyone who hasn’t been.

Stopped by on way back from shopping trip and wasn't disappointed, not too many in bar so we chose to eat there instead of restuarant, had mushrooms for starter, steak for dinner which was cooked to my liking med/rare and a lovely salted caramel dessert, service was quick and staff very friendly and attentive. Will defo pay another visit

The pub advertised that it was showing the recent Ireland v Italy game, with two separate Facebook posts advertising "Live coverage of the Six Nation's" (sic). The Six Nations was mentioned ahead of the soccer matches in the ad, so we assumed it would have top billing in the pub. However, we arrived in to find that only the Man Utd v Liverpool Premiership game was being shown on all the TV screens.

Visited the Courthouse recently with a group of 50 for a ‘mystery tour’ event and was given the upstairs function area. Was perfect for our group with access to our own bar and smoking area. Buffet food was great and service was excellent - especially from Helen who took our booking. Great for functions, would recommend.

Very disappointed to find that the restaurant did not have a vegetarian menu. There was only one veggie option on the menu but deep fried vegetables was not very appealing to my friend. In fairness, the chef whipped up a pasta dish on request but not the same as having a range of dishes to choose from. Portion size small and quite expensive. Waitress very friendly. Doubt I will pay a return visit

My mum and dad were over from England visiting and wanted to take us all out for a meal. I browsed the web and decided we would go somewhere that I already knew did good food as I did not want to risk a bad meal. The Courthouse did not disappoint, it was as fabulous as ever! My mum said that the steak she had was the "the best she'd ever had in her life" and is she's in her 60's, so no mean feat. My Dad thoroughly enjoyed his curry and my eldest son (7 years old) loved his delicious pasta from the kids menu. My duck was fantastic too. This place is easily the best place to eat in Lurgan. We'll definitely visit time and time again. Service was also second to none.

In all my years I’ve never witnessed such amazing and attentive, polite customer service from a lovely server called Kyle. Thank yo, Kyle, for such a lovely experience. The food was also absolutely mouth watering!! The blueberry cup desert was UNREAL!!!!!!!!! Will definitely be back.

Food is served here and it is very tasty. They have very clean toilets, you can play pool or have a few drinks with friends. Plays a great selection of music and there is an upstairs with a second bar too

Myself and my wife have been here twice over the last month,although this isn’t the first time we have been here.The consistency regarding the quality of the food and the service provided by the staff,especially Helen is second to none.To get quality food and service in Lurgan is difficult and this restaurant has successfully filled the chasm that existed.

Went with the hubby for dinner at 7pm on a Saturday evening. While the surroundings and atmosphere are lovely, the meal was disappointing.

This was our second time eating here in the last couple of months. The first time the food and service was excellent, so we were hoping for the same again. Had the garlic mushroom crumble for starters, have never seen that before, beautiful. On the recommendation of the waitress I went for the brisket which was on the Specials board, it was amazing , the plate went back spotless. I have to say that I've been impressed by the Courthouse any time I've visited it since the revamp. They're really trying to raise the level of quality and service here and they seem to be succeeding. We'll be back again for sure.

Booked table for 7 at 530pm on a weekday for our colleagues leaving do. Some others had dined previously and raved about the food and decor! So we were all excited to see and taste what our local had to offer.

My husband and I, along with our two young kids went here for Sunday lunch last weekend. Having been to the Ashburn (run by the same people), we thought we knew what to expect. However, I have to say I was surprised and delighted with my Sunday dinner here. It knocked socks off the Ashburn's. The pan jus/gravy was just to die for! So delicious. Portion size, as always with Lurgan, was enormous, so make sure you are hungry before visiting. Staff were friendly. Food was prompt and yummy. Couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be going again.

The new restaurant in the Courthouse Lurgan is definitely something to write home about. At first glance the menu may seem a bit different but I've tasted 5/6 different dishes & every one has been totally gorgeous. It's a step above anything I've had for a long time. The service is excellent & the decor is classy, cosy & comfortable. The menu is also very reasonably priced. Extra tip check out the gin menu We will definitely be returning soon.

This place is the spot to be in Lurgan for a great night out. The place is pumping and the price for a drink is average for the town. The recent renovations were long overdue and have really lifted the place. Only drawback is the attitude of some of the door staff. The place serves food but as of yet i have not tried it but i will very soon.

I want to be honest from the get go, I am a big fan of the McConaghy's hospitality, great food served by decent people in good surroundings - they have been doing this a long time and they do it very well.

Decided to head for dinner and drinks as it's only a short taxi journey from home, we went a bit earlier to watch football but where disappointed with the lack of atmosphere and people! Although not really the bars fault! We had phoned in and booked for dinner, the restaurant even phoned back to confirm a few flights before and when we arrived they had no record of us! This was frustrating as when a bar puts a service in to phone customers back for bookings, surely they shouldn't make mistakes. As the restaurant was quiet we were OK to get a table and honestly we wouldn't have let it go but they waiting staff then ignored is for 15 or more minutes until one of us had to go find someone to get a food menu! I think we experienced very poor service this night considering it was quiet. The cocktails are really good and they have a great selection and when we did get our food it was also really tasty, so still worth a visit and I guess everyone has off nights. Good for a few casual drinks and food

Visited the new restaurant in the revamped Courthouse for dinner with my wife.It was an exceptional experience in all aspects,the decor,the food,the service and the overall ambience.We both had the Surf and Turf for main course which was beautiful both in presentation and taste.I would like to thank Pete who went out of his way to get us booked in at the last minute and Helen,our host for the evening who was extremely attentive.Two small flaws,no one offered to pour the wine we ordered and there are no coasters for the drinks glasses which leave the tables wet but this was a great experience.Visit,enjoy,you won't be disappointed.

Went here with a group of girls and we had the hake, the food was presented to a very high standard and the hake was cooked to perfection!!! Delicious sides, service and ambiance of the place was superb will definitely be back and cannot recommend this place enough try it you will not be disappointed !!!
