Stables Complex in Craigavon

I visited here at lunchtime today with 2 family members. The woman who was standing inside the door at the podium asked if we had booked, we said we hadn’t as we were just passing and decided on lunch. She looked around the restaurant as if she was searching for a table for us, despite only 3 tables being occupied! She never once said “good afternoon” or “how are you” The look on her face said it all as she couldn’t even manage a grin, never mind a smile. She took our drink order and went behind the bar to get it. Just then another 3 customers arrived, she hurried from behind the bar to take them to a table and promptly took their drinks order and served it to them while we, having been there at least 10 minutes before them, sat waiting on our drinks! As she served them their drinks she took out her order pad to take their food order, still ignoring us waiting on our drinks. That was enough ignorance for me and I suggested to my company we leave as it seemed like she didn’t want us there. We went elsewhere and spent £120 on food & drinks and were treated with respect. This woman definitely needs a lesson in how to treat paying customers, especially in todays economic climate, as people are making choices of where to spend their money. I have work in the hospitality business myself and visited the Stables many times over the years when Anne was the proprietor and was never treated with such disdain. I don’t live in the area anymore and thought it would be nice to visit a place which in the past was a pleasant experience. This woman is definitely not an asset to your business Smyth family, in fact quite the opposite!

Myself and my my family called in for Sunday lunch and were not let down The food was good homemade homely cooking The service was second to none From the girl at the desk to welcome us to the girl working the tables was friendly and warm

4 ot us (2 couples) went to Stables last night for Valentines night & what a fantastic meal we all had. It was £45 per couple for 2 courses incl a nice bottle of wine or £50 per couple for 3 courses incl wine. Fantastic value especially on Valentines night which is normally a rip off. The food was hot & plentiful and well presented. The staff were good at their jobs & very professional. They also had a young lady playing an acoustic guitar& singing without being loud. All in all it was a very pleasurable experience which we all enjoyed So thank you to all the staff from the kitchen to the servers & barstaff.

I was with 7 adults with learning disability, and due to covid we were unable to eat inside. I went in and asked for menu, where i spoke to Colette who could't have been more helpful. I took menu out and telephoned my order in. i collected meals and as sun was shining we enjoyed same at Oxford Island safe distancing from everyone.

Love the food here, always accommodating. My mother is celiac and they cater for her with no issues. Portion size is great. Would highly recommend.

Recently went to the stables for a family gathering, food was gorgeous, food portions and very budget friendly... staff were great 👍🏼 looking forward to visiting again soon

I went last Thursday to the Steak night ie 2 people get 8oz steaks, a choice of 2 sides & sauces comes with onion rings, 2 deserts & 2 drinks. All for £30. Absolutely gorgeous food. Excellent value & really friendly service. Will definitely be back.

Had Christmas dinner here 2 weeks ago-very wheelchair friendly and excellent helpful staff-food was excellent and no ripoff bar prices either-everyone really enjoyed it +will be back next year DV

Went here on Sunday afternoon with family. Can’t fault the Sunday lunch. Great service too Would highly recommend

I would definitely recommend this place, prices are unbeatable, portions are massive, food’s really tasty and very professional and friendly staff.

I usually eat at the stables Christmas Easter and any big family events. Each time service and food are always lovely cannot fault this place and highly recommend

Great establishment & always a great warm welcome awaits. Food excellent, good portions & great service. They have what is in our eyes the best bar man in the lurgan area if not Ireland ... Barry he is without doubt on top of his game unlike his beloved LFC. Would defo recommend

Was attending a charity's dinner. Some 200 people in attendance for dinner. After a wait the good started to filter out. But it was evident that service lacked organisation. Waitresses came with Turkey and ham but no veg or gravy. Some brought mash potato first but no veg or meat.Some tables got full served meal eventually whilst others waited and waited. Eventually we were served last. First came the turkey and ham,a little later mash and roast potato. Cauliflower cheese came but they had ran out of carrot and parsnip. Gravy came later. I then saw they had left chipolatas in a dish further down table. Eventually they brought us carrot and parsnip but it was not mashed. The main was tasty and plentiful when we eventually got it. Desert was trifle in a very small dish. Tea or coffee was served. No complaints about food quality which was great. But the overall serving and organisation was abismal. But I think for regular a la carte walk in service it should be better. I will try sometime soon.

Went today with all the family to celebrate a family occasion. Service and the food was brilliant. Staff couldnt have been anymore helpful. Food was served quickly. Food not expensive either.

Very pleased with a recent visit to The Stables for Sunday lunch. Its popularity is plain to see from a well filled dining area. There was a good choice from the menu and prices very reasonable. The helpings were extremely generous with four vegetables and copious amounts of potatoes and chips. The sweets were excellent and the cup of cappuccino huge. It has 5 stars for hygiene and in my opinion everything else.

First class starter and dinner . Staff great bring out more food when we wanted it loads on plate and all very good would defo come back . Loads of car parking handy got to really good food.

Have dined here for quite a few years & never had a bad meal, all delicious Service is good from professional & friendly staff Also serve Bass on draught

Great spot for a meal, snack or otherwise, (Great burgers). Good variety on menu which changes regularly , reasonable prices and the steaks are fantastic, the 12oz is massive and chips are NOT frozen ones. I've eaten here regularly for a while and never had a bad meal, very large portions and sides are included with the price (not like some places where everything is extra). Very busy at weekends especially Sundays so booking is best. The staff are all very nice and helpful. Wine prices are reasonable and the pints are good. Nice surroundings and you can eat in the bar or the restaurant, whichever you prefer.

Me and my family always have lunch here the prices are reasonable and the staff are really friendly and helpful and don't mind having a wee banter with the regulars

If you are looking for a nice meal and you don't want to spend a fortune that is a perfect spot. Food is fresh and tasty, portions are massive, I was very nicely surprised with the choice and the total bill.
