I treated my Mum to a Champagne afternoon tea for her birthday. First impressions were not good, all the staff we encountered on Reception were blunt & self righteous, I asked to see any room as I wanted to book for a future stay, absolute ‘no’ as it was changeover day, really?! I won’t be coming back anyway now. We were seated & were the only table in the Fig, however 30mins later nothing, even though I had sent our menu through 2 weeks ago due to dietary requirements, we still hadn’t even had our tea yet, let alone the food! Tea then came but no milk, so had to wait another 10mins for a member of staff to appear. Sandwiches to be fair were good BUT the scones were the worst scones I’ve ever tasted, absolutely minuscule & had no flavour whatsoever. Such a huge disappointment. Two other tables had arrived by then & all thought service was shocking. Come on guys, it shouldn’t be hard! Don’t waste your money coming here, it really isn’t worth it! Also no mention of a happy birthday for my Mum at all :(

First year anniversary meal , stayed at the Cotswold house and Spa. The menu in the fig was limited nothing particularly inspiring at all . Opted for the beef and a steak in the end , would have preferred the duck but they had run out . The food arrived was well presented. The beef tasted nice , worked well with the jus , potatoes but would describe it as lukewarm at most . The steak was quite tough and again lukewarm. For dessert opted for cheese plater and cheesecake. Again both presented well only three cheeses offered but tasted okay . Cheesecake was average. The wine list was also quite limited and uninspiring. The overall experience was okay , staff. Friendly but this was not the treat and dinning experience I would have hoped for , for such a special occasion.

After attending a matinee at the theatre in Stratford, we thought it would be good to have a full afternoon tea before our 2 hour drive home. We couldn't find anywhere in Stratford, so looked a little further afield and booked it at The Fig. Fortunately they will accept bookings later in the afternoon (up until 5pm, I think). So although it is a bit of a drive from Stratford it was the best option we could find. We enjoyed it very much - the sandwiches were fresh, and the cakes were good. I would probably say, that on balance, the cakes could have been a little larger and then we could have just had one, rather than two, scones each. In the end we took our second scones home as we were too full to eat them at the time. The staff were pleasant and friendly, and the restaurant was a calm space.

We were staying at the sister hotel Noel Arms hotel across the road which was fantastic (I would suggest booking there instead it’s so much better). We had use of the spa which was really lovely. Sadly we went for a meal at The Fig Restaurant which was so disappointing. The service was not good, even when there were only 3 tables seated. The meal was so tiny but was listed with potatoes and vegetables so we hadn’t ordered a side dish. I don’t know why the waiter did not advise that we should order a side. We would have happily ordered a side dish each but you don’t expect that it’s necessary when potatoes and vegetables are listed on the menu, especially as we don’t tend to eat a lot. We had to send our meals back to be kept warm while they cooked us some vegetables to go with the meal. We have never sent a meal back before so really disappointing. The couple next to us walked out having seen our meal - I wish we had. Other tables we could see had ordered steak, I think, which at least came with a nice amount of chips, so why did our chicken and cod come with the potato equivalent of 2 chips? It seems portion sizes were a bit hit and miss. Our waiter seemed inattentive (even though there were only a few tables), at the end of the meal after the issues we’d had he never asked if we enjoyed our meal. We were so disappointed that we spoke with the receptionist as we left, but he seemed disinterested in our feedback. His response that the portions are small as it is fine dining was insulting. We have been to plenty of fine dining restaurants but have never been so disappointed with the meal or the service.

Fantastic visit to the fig today for afternoon tea, service was fantastic, all the waitresses were so friendly and attentive, food was excellent and the setting was lovely. Visited for a special birthday treat and we were all so impressed. Definitely return

Muchos lugares sirven té de la tarde, pero si quieres una selección adecuada de té de hojas servido tradicionalmente, este es el lugar.Vajilla de la más alta calidad en un bello entorno.Scones para morirse y postres caseros.  21 por cabeza.También tuvimos un hermoso día de spa en la parte superior del jardín.El spa es encantador y tranquilo en la semana. Pequeño pero tranquilo. . . . justo lo que necesitas para relajarte.

Interesting and tasty mises bouches, beautifully cooked fish, simple but stunning pasta dish with truffle. A perfect meal with good wine and lovely service on a cold and rainy night in the Cotswolds...perfect!

After a mix up with a voucher I had the hotel very kindly chose to honour my voucher and allow us to enjoy their lovely hotel and afternoon tea.The service was very good and fairly discrete which was nice as some places are overpowering.We had a choice of teas and were encouraged to to smell them to see what appealed to us.The food consisted of freshly made sandwiches,2 large scones and various other small cakes.There was more than ample food for the two of us. Thank-you to the manager and staff for a lovely experience.

Comimos en el restaurante Fig en dos ocasiones durante nuestra estancia en el hotel, ambas comidas fueron excelentes, bien preparadas, presentadas y muy sabrosas. También tomamos el té de la tarde un día, lo que también fue muy bueno, este fue mi primer té de la tarde, pero uno de los muchos que mi esposa ha tomado y lo puso en la parte superior de su lista no oficial.

If. Like me you like to drive.And when I mean drive I don't mean crawling through traffic that is held up by local councils in London and there never ending pursuing of slowing us down and taking us for every penny we have spare in fines and charges. And not forgetting the endless pointless traffic lights. Speed bumps and the list goes on that our road tax pays for and not for the purposes it is ment for. Potholes and maintaining the road.I mean drive freely on open roads that flat. Smooth. And have glorious views at every turn. Then I highly recommend going to the cotswolds.If you do not know where this is then have no fear because all you need to do is book yourself in to @cotswoldshotelandspaSet you sat nav to go there and the rest is simple because once your here you just pick a road and go. I highly recommend the one that will lead you from the spa to a Miller and Carter restaurant. It's about 1hr drive but it's well worth the effort. Stop of grab yourself something to eat and then do as please find another route or just drive back to the spa book yourself in to the hot tub or massage and facial and if you have a it in you why not try your hand at a spot of golf.Now this is all well and good if you are on your own or as a couple but if you have the kiddies with you have no fear there is plenty things for them to see and do here. With a farm walking distance from the spar. And loads more around there area you won't be scratching your head trying to entertain them for a few.

Attentive service, fantastic selection of tea.A really good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes.Scones were very light and crumbly and slightly warm, served with clotted cream and jamA nice selection of cakes and macaroons.We were not rushed and it was a totally relaxing afternoon

We ate in this restaurant as part of a spa overnight offer. The menu choice was interesting and everything cooked to perfection. They were happy to offer a different starter menu choice as well when a couple of our party were unsure...Vegetarians well catered for. We loved the Amuse Bouche that came between courses. All the food was beautiful presented. Service was faultless. For a party of 12 to all love the meal is some achievement. Well done Fig. Hopefully we will be back!

A lovely restaurant attached to the Cotswold House hotel and Spa. Service was outstanding and the food is lovely and wonderfully presented. Some people, like us, may find the need to order a few side orders to share. Excellent selection of wine and well informed team of staff

Beautiful and tasteful food. Beautifully served and very satisfying. Waiting staff extremely professional and unobtrusive.

We hired the private dining room for a birthday meal for a party of 14. The room looked stunning helped by a local florist who provided wonderful decorated candelabras (at extra cost). We had the tasting menu and could not fault any of the dishes which were all served at a nice slow pace making for a long and sociable evening. The gentleman who looked after us was extremely attentive - the wine flowed - and the overall service was very good. It was expensive and I am not in favour of having to pay a room hire charge on top of a hefty food and drink bill but, having said that, we had a wonderful memorable evening. I would recommend and look forward to returning.

Spent a long weekend here and enjoyed every minute of it. The location, rooms, restaurant and bar, staff, the spa and gardens were all lovely . Breakfast in the Fig room was perfect. Would definitely recommend and will stay again

Had a wonderful family get together to celebrate my 50th birthday at this charming hotel. We spent the whole afternoon in the Fig dining restaurant having a delicious afternoon tea with the best homemade scones, cakes & sandwiches! The staff were all so friendly & highly attentive to our needs and we loved the dining area space as it had the perfect mix of feeling upmarket & special but without seeming pretentious. The food is excellent & the rooms are very comfortable, we loved the larger outside cottage we stayed in which even had an outdoor hot tub! My family & I would all highly recommend staying at this hotel for any occasion, the lovely relaxing spa area was an additional treat too :-)

Delightful ambience and excellent service.Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. We thought the tea menu was enticing ,especially the nutty chocolate Assam and elderflower and blossom Darjeeling. Scones were fresh and light. The lavender gin jelly shot a flavour hit. Superb!

The food was amazing, the chef also gave us a little taster of an alternative starter and desert. The staff were friendly.

Last minute booking whilst staying outside Chipping Campden. Modern decor in historic setting, well executed menu and about 2/3 of the price you would pay in a city venue. Thoroughly recommend and would return without hesitation.

I thoroughly enjoyed a 5 course dinner yesterday at The Fig. The food was cooked and presented beautifully. The staff were very knowledgable and helped us to pair wines with the meal. The salmon dish with the caviar was sensational. I will be sure to recommend this restaurant and the hotel to family and friends. Thank you so much!

We both ordered the same dish the taster menu, nice idea but it was way above someones skill base. The lamb was overcooked as was the fish and the rest of it was smothered with a sauce of some sort, no one asked if we enjoyed it so couldn't tell what we thought.

I enjoyed a lovely bank holiday weekend in the Cotswold & the team at The Cotswold House's service and attentiveness was truly exceptional! We had dinner at the Bistro on the 1st night, which was enjoyable & delicious! The cherry on top of the cake was dinner at The Fig on the Saturday night! We were recommended to opt for the Tasting Menu with the Wine Flight! This was exquisite, beautiful & devine! A memorable experience with a journey of different tastes accompanied by great wines! Our small tour group had breakfast her for two days since we stayed at the Cotswold House Hotel. Food was exceptional and service professional. Continental bar had a decent selection of juices (fresh squeezed oj) pastries, breads, and croissants. I had the English breakfast both times with my standard boiled soft yoke eggs (dippy) and they came out perfectly - hard white and runny yoke. Sat with my MiL (we are early birds) and she really liked their pancakes.

The place is beautiful. Built to perfection. Service deserves a 10 ( scale 1 to 10 ) Everyone was so kind and helpful since the beginning. The food was delicious. We had breakfast and dinner here every day of our stay and we really enjoyed. Breakfast is one of the most important thing about a hotel and this hotel offers an amazing breakfast experience. I really recommend breakfast here. The rooms are quite comfortable. No noise at all so you can rest. I would definitely come back and stay here again while exploring Cotswolds. The elegance and beauty of this hotel will make you fall in love.

We ate in the Fig restaurant whilst enjoying a perfect stay at the Cotswold House Hotel for a celebration night (see separate review). Everything was as you would expect from a two rosette restaurant - excellent, attentive service that wasn't over the top, food that was very well presented and tasted great and a very good bottle of wine to accompany it all - formal, fine dining that didn't feel pretentious or 'stuffy' at all. All this for what I would consider a very reasonable price for this quality of restaurant too.

After a day out in Stratford, Morton in the Marsh and Broadway we had certainly worked up an appetite.

Embarrassed to admit I’ve heard of the Fig before and when we booked to stay in the hotel we were in two minds about eating in the Brasserie. We Never tried the brassiere but the Fig is sensational great service and every course totally beyond expectations. This place is a serious top end restaurant.....please do give I a try :-)

We stayed in the hotel last weekend on the Ultimate Gourmet Experience. The first night included the 7 course tasting menu and wine flight in The Fig Restaurant.

We stayed with the hotel and dinner was included with our stay. Not only was dinner amazing but the full three course meal was included! Have you ever heard of such a thing?!

A lovely afternoon tea, very classic surroundings. The best afternoon tea I have had, good choice of teas and very tasty food. They even made a cheese sandwich especially for my daughter who is pregnant and in need of cheese!! The staff were very friendly, professional and welcoming. The garden was lovely and would be fabulous to sit out on a warmer day. I would love to come back and stay at the hotel and make use of the spa.

Went out for meal with fiance decided to go to the fig restaurant inside the cotswold house hotel and Spa. We had the 7 course tasting menu and it was fabulous! The food was so delicious and mouth watering! Never tasted food like that in my life! The restaurant manager was so friendly, funny and so knowledgeable! We had some drink at the bar as well before and after dinner which I believe is called bistro on the square and the bar staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about everything they sell especially wine and gins. They have 28 different types of gins which all come with there own garnishes and fever tree tonic water! The room we had was spotlessly clean and had a few added bonuses. Will definitely come again had the best night away! Thank you everyone at the cotswold house hotel and Spa!!!

Attended a private dining experience with a party of 19 on 10th February 2018. Thoroughly enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu and wine flight. The service was excellent - very attentive but discreet. Very welcoming atmosphere. Excellent evening.

My husband and I Visited The Fig on the evening of Saturday 10th February 2018, we attended for a birthday, we had the 7 course taster menu and the suggested wine to go with it, the food and service together made this evening most enjoyable, we will definitely be visiting again

We recently stayed at Cotswold House in Chipping Campden and decided to try their main restaurant. What a treat. We might have missed it as the Grill is by the bar so we thought that was the only restaurant. Fig is worth the extra. The chef clearly knows his stuff and the setting is very romantic. Loved it.

Came here for a night to get away and what better way to enjoy the evening. The service was exceptional with knowledgeable staff, great recommendations and exceptional food. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

hadn't visited for a couple of years so was pleasantly surprised by the complete makeover and the much more feminine look and feel. elegant, sophisticated dining room, called FIG. Seriously clever cooking and fastidious service. definitely go back, top notch grub. celebrated the birth of baby grandson in style.

We were welcomed with pre-dinner drinks and canape's that were a refreshing delight! Dinner was served in an elegant room with service being superb and exceptionally attentive! The food was beautiful! We had a 5-course meal, which was delicate and full of flavor. Each course was accompanied with an exquisite selection of wines, that complimented each dish. The salmon was certainly my favorite! I then could not resist to end of with a fabulous espresso martini cocktail, which I must admit was a perfect way to end a very memorable visit! Compliments to the team and I will certainly be back soon!

Came here for dinner a few weeks ago with my partner. We were served by Emiliano & Stefan who were both very polite and had a lot of knowledge about wines and the dishes on the menu. This is a fantastic place to eat. The chef is clearly very talented! The food is absolutely divine! Definitely worthy of a michelin star!! Cant wait to come back!

Ate here last night and had the tasting menu. Food was delicious and they were brilliant at adapting the food to be dairy free for my husband and even made him a special dessert. Courses were perfectly timed. Service was excellent with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lovely ambiance too.

We were received with cordiality and after placing our orders seated in the charming Restaurant. The service was of the highest professional standards. The cuisine was outstanding to the finest dining standard not found in many Hotels. The Crab Cake was a gourmet experience. This was followed by Guinea Fowl that was succulent and exquisitely served with potatoes and vegetables delightfully prepared and made for a fine dining experience. . Regretfully, I could not sample the 'Puds'

My girlfriend and I were staying for the weekend at Cotswold House where we had dinner in the Fig on Saturday night. We were met by very friendly staff and shown to our beautiful table. The wine list was brilliant with a fabulous choice to choose from. My starter which was a very clever take on a belly pork dish was truly amazing and my girlfriends seared tuna was equally good. For mains we had fillet steak and stuffed loin of rabbit. Again we were both blown away. To finish i selected four cheeses from the that was on offer which finished off the meal perfectly. All in all, great service, great wine, and brilliant food. Highly recommend a visit!

Incredible dinner, visually and taste to match excellence. Beautiful setting with very attentive and warm staff who were very knowledgable on every dish presented, we had 3 courses but actually turned out to be 5 to include chefs amuse Bouche and pre dessert!

The menu was small with a fixed tasting portion. The menu was the same for five days. The room was beautiful. It could be spectacular – don’t understand why management doesn’t change the menu to offer better, more traditional food.

My husband is always looking for restaurants where the flavors in a dish go together so well that the whole is better than the parts. This place excelled in every way. Service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The food was fabulous. Even though it is expensive, it is well worth it. We highly recommend it.

Un entorno precioso, el servicio impecable y la presentación y la comida era realmente sublime. Cada plato estaba muy bien presentado, una verdadera obra de arte, con muchas capas de sabores sutiles, pero el filete de ternera era la perfección - sabores increíbles y preparado como solicitado. Varias ofertas sorpresa en entre campos nos cautivó como a sus ingredientes y la selección de vinos perfectamente complementados nuestra comida.

Nos alojamos en el Cotswold House Hotel a principios de julio, como un regalo de algunos amigos. Tuvimos una cena de tres platos y desayuno incluido, que estaba en el restaurante fig. Tenemos que decir que nos pareció que la comida era excepcional.

Luz hermoso y espacioso restaurante, inmediatamente dado la bienvenida y una variedad de mesas, el pan recién horneado, el entrante de cangrejo era casi demasiado bonito para comer y estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho, amuse bouche era sabrosa, el risotto estaba increíblemente bueno y el budín de chocolate era una obligación. Disfrutamos de un agradable café en los jardines después. Realmente disfrutamos de esta comida, gran ambiente y sin duda volveremos pronto. Gracias al personal por ser tan amable y profesional.

The set three course menu was perfectly done - tender, delicious and beautifully served. The room was tranquil and a lovely setting for the food. The fillet was perfectly cooked. My daughter had the truffle and pecorino risotto which was superb.

¿Por qué extrañar? Porque hemos estado yendo y para el hotel Cotswold House para comer por unos 12 años y por lo menos en los últimos cinco, que sin duda es apagado. Así que fue con un poco de miedo que nos fuimos el sábado y nos quedamos muy agradablemente sorprendidos. En realidad. encantado El comedor, el servicio, la lista de vinos era excelente. Pero la comida era muy buena. Realmente muy buena. Incluyendo el amuses bouches. Es un comedor formal pero relajado. Con el chef docena, ahora hay dos restaurantes estándares excepcionalmente elevado en Campden.

The menu is excellent and the chef is a real star. Each course was absolutely delicious and the wines available were excellent. Our waiter was a real star - he remembered us from a previous visit some months before.

El personal era muy atento, amable y profesional. Comenzamos con una selección de tés de hoja. Sirve té por la tarde estaba con una copa de champán. Me encanta el té de la tarde, así que hemos estado en muchos lugares en la zona y este es uno de los mejores. Todas las tartas recién hechas y aunque no parece un montón de comida, muy pronto te sientes completo. Yo no suelo pasar el tiempo con mi hermana y yo estábamos celebrando tener un nuevo trabajo. Disfruté de una cena maravillosa en la Fig con mi madre. Los sabores eran absolutamente increíble y el tamaño de la ración perfecta repletos de creatividad. El personal era excelente e incluso tenían algún vino muy inusual british transparente, un personal de nuestros favoritos, que era una adición encantadora a la lista de vinos. Altamente recomendado

El Cotswold Hotel y Spa justo al lado de la plaza principal de Chipping Camden es uno de mis hoteles favoritos. Porque vivo localmente que venga aquí. Un día de spa aquí con almuerzo es mi idea del paraíso. Mi mejor amigo y yo no podía esperar a probar el restaurante remodelados Fig para champán y té de la tarde, no hay nada mejor que esto.

Cenamos en el restaurante dos veces como parte de un fin de semana de spa. El ambiente, la comida y el servicio impecable. Selección de comida y la presentación increíble y el personal es muy amable y atento, nada era demasiado problema. Estaremos de vuelta.

We went here for a jaunt using the Travelzoo afternoon tea voucher. Lovely location, decor and gardens. Well worth dusting the weekend car off for. Service was a bit country house slow but that adds to the ambiance.

Visitamos el restaurante fig para el cumpleaños de mis hijas. El personal era muy profesional y atento, pero también muy amable, especialmente nuestro camarero Istavan.

Tuvimos madres almuerzo día y no nos decepcionó tres hermosos campos y a un precio muy razonable. Mi marido dijo que su carne asada era la mejor que había probado en mucho tiempo. Mi pollo asado era cocinado a la perfección. Estamos deseando volver a comer aquí de nuevo.

Un amigo recomendar el restaurante fig a mí diciendo que la comida era increíble, así que cuando buscando un lugar especial para celebrar los 30 de mi novio julio, me decidí por un regalo para un par de noches en el Cotswold Hotel and Spa (igualmente increíble ashbee alojado en la suite en el hotel). Como una sorpresa además había reservado una mesa en el restaurante para 19:00. He tenido experiencias culinarias antes, pero este era otra cosa! Los camareros eran muy atentos, sin estar en el camino y se sumaba a la experiencia, con gran conocimiento sobre la comida y la bebida, que fue muy bien recibida. Lo que no puedo decir de la comida, era increíble! ! ! (dos semanas antes estuve en un restaurante de una estrella Michelin y la higuera podría dar ese lugar por su dinero! ! ). Fuimos para entradas diferentes, platos principales y postres, así que pudimos probar la comida de los otros (para hacer). Creo que sería muy difícil recoger mi favorito por supuesto, pero no puedo negar mi filete de carne fue preparada y presentada a la perfección! ! Todo estaba tan bien presentada, tuve que tomar fotos antes de comer! El aspecto del restaurante era precioso y estaba más íntimo, un restaurante de calidad y cuidado con la experiencia de comer bien (me encantó cuando el camarero cepillado las migas, aunque sienta mal no recuerdo su nombre! ). Si tuviera alguna queja acerca del restaurante es que es más de una hora y media de distancia de donde yo vivo, pero no te preocupes, ¡volveré! ! Muchas gracias a todo el personal y no puedo recomendar el restaurante lo suficiente! !

Acabamos de regresar de un fin de semana encantador en este hotel. El excelente restaurante fig fue una verdadera sorpresa. El personal era encantador y atento. La comida es de alta calidad y hermosas creaciones artísticas para cada plato. Sólo he comido en un restaurante de estrella Michelin, pero este tiene que ser de allí. Recomendaría este hotel para cualquier ocasión especial, aunque comimos aquí porque teníamos con nuestro paquete. La habitación estaba limpia, cómoda, con menaje para preparar té y café. Esta casa antigua tenía tal carácter. El único inconveniente fue el hecho de que el balneario es por un sendero en la parte trasera del hotel, que implica ir afuera, que no sería problema en el verano, pero tuvimos un poco de nieve y temperaturas bajo cero, así que no usamos! Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Stayed at the hotel and booked into the restaurant on the first night for ease. Was absolutely delicious and the waiter was very accommodating of special requests! Recommended, even if you are not staying here.

La Cena del sábado en el restaurante. Elección de cuatro entrantes y tres platos principales. Teníamos el calamar y los platos de cangrejo por un entrante y fueron muy sabrosa.

Visitamos hoy para un regalo de cumpleaños, este fue el mejor té de la tarde que hemos tenido, con una encantadora chimenea, camarero era muy profesional, una habitación bellamente decorada, y por supuesto el sandwiches y pasteles eran excelentes! ! ! Creo que debe ser un chef muy especial en este hotel. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo. Este es un lugar que no debe perderse.

We had a three course meal at Fig Restaurant as part of an anniversary stay at the adjoining hotel. The meals are "fine dining" and thus quality and style are favored over quantity. We particularly liked the use of local table wear.

The chef really cares, the food is presented exceptionally well and tastes amazing. The staff are tentative and professional while being kind and approachable.

We had the best anniversary at the Fig,in Cotswold House Hotel. The food was what you would get in a Michelin star Restaurant,the service and New decor was superb. Thank you for the great Evening We will definitely be back.

Fue invitado a la inauguración del nuevo restaurante, bistro y áreas para eventos y qué placer fue a atender. Gran decoración, buen ambiente y excelente comida. Gracias Champagne tattainger Cotswold y destilería de Ginebra con su increíble que realmente era bastante feliz cuando me fui. Gracias Casa cotswold, no puedo esperar a volver.

Estaba bien de retraso y ahora el Cotswold House ha tenido una espectacular reforma. Tuvimos un poco de algunas habitaciones tour y probado canapés deliciosos. Las habitaciones están bellamente decoradas y los dos restaurantes tienen un ambiente mucho mejor. Le dan a este lugar. El spa es genial también.

One comes to Chipping Campden for a sense of the past and the Cotswold House has stood for centuries. This is either a good thing or bad depending on your expectations. There is plenty of guest parking and all the rooms have modern heating and plumbing, but accessibility and acoustics have not joined this century. We had one of the rooms overlooking High Street and it was noisy with its lack of modern windows and insulation. The obstacle course getting to the room consisted of stairs and varying levels of hallways. This is NOT a place for anyone with disabilities. The bar is charming and the breakfast was excellent. Bring your ear plugs and appreciation for "Olde England" and you will enjoy your stay.

wonderful meal here every night for 5 days .tried a pub but came back to the hotel for our meals.service great .we found the prices were about the same as the pubs in chipping campden

¡Qué bienvenida del personal amable y atento, nos reservamos para el té de la tarde cuando tuvimos madre alojarse con nosotros, todos disfrutamos muchísimo de la experiencia de té de la tarde. La comida era excelente, bien presentado, con un personal muy servicial, y una buena selección de sandwiches y pasteles. Sin duda regresaría de nuevo y donde planeando tomar madre volver por una semana de cumpleaños 80. Bien hecho, a todo el personal.

Disfrutamos de una maravillosa cena ligera temprano en un viernes por la noche cuando la ciudad estaba ocupada, pero "Bistro Cotswold House en la plaza "era aún bastante vacío. Excelente servicio, una gran sopa de brécol y stilton blanco y crema de mejillones en plato, además de un vino bien presentado "Desastre cotwold" (como desorden eton) del desierto. Un final agradable a un ajetreado día de turismo. Precios por media y muy buena relación calidad-precio para de alta calidad.

We stayed here for my birthday and found the hotel to be a bit 'tired'We were dissapointed in both the hotel & the spa

Lovely little Cotswold town, when we arrived we had afternoon tea, which was very nice. Once in our room, first glance was nice with a huge bed, open fire and leather sofas, all very nice. A huge egg shaped bath in the bathroom. Looking more closely items like glass candles were broken, the loo was filthy as was the shower. Was mentioned to reception and they promptly "cleaned" up, was still the same after. Generally looking a little tired when we visited. Evening meal, The food was superb! Service at breakfast was just a mess though, but again the food was very nice. My wife had booked a spa session which when she arrived at the spa wasn't booked, luckily they managed to fit her in. It's a nice place that needed a little work.

A friend and I had spent a wonderful relaxing day in the Spa at the rear of this Hotel and although not staying there ourselves, all the staff we encountered were extremely helpful. We booked a meal in the Grill restaurant for the evening and organised a taxi back from our meal to our hotel in a village a few miles away so neither of us needed to drive and could remain as relaxed as possible(not that driving is stressful)! We were served by some extremely friendly and helpful waitresses who keen to improve their own already very good English were checking pronunciations occasionally, all with a smile and gratitude. The food was simply beautiful- well portioned and swift to arrive. The service couldn't have been more attentive.

Very Charming hotel in a great location. Could be great with appropriate care and attention to costumers. The bedroom that was given to us was a bit tired but up to good standards (although they had a weird spiky mattress, not so comfortable to sleep). After a long day driving, we were looking forward to some tea and biscuits at the bedroom. Really good cafeteria in the bedroom but no biscuits available (despite informed in their brochure - they informed they would have home made biscuits in the bedroom). We had coffee and tea and decided to go to the spa. Spa was ok but not great. The sauna was clogged and there was a pond inside it (!). No drinks/refreshments available in the Spa (except for herbal tea). Spa hostess looked bored and grumpy. On the way back to the bedroom, we asked on the reception about the biscuits as we wanted just to snack something before going out for dinner. The person on the reception seemed not to understand my fiance (he is English) and told us to ask at the restaurant. We then decided to go out to have dinner earlier. When we came back to the hotel, we found that someone had been in the bedroom to clean the mugs, which is ok. Although this person did not leave any biscuits, did not clean the cafeteria nor removed the rubbish (packages of the coffee and tea we had earlier). Breakfast was ok, although lack of cheese and ham for continental breakfast in the buffet was a shame. Summing up, charming hotel with issues. Expensive for what it is.

This is a beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. It has a fabulous gardens so everything should be in place for a successful, vibrant restaurant and a memorable dining experience that one would yearn to go back to.On this occasion, this just didn't unfold. Sunday lunch was so ordinarily as to be remarkable. It was breathtakingly disappointing. Atmosphere was less the high class gem of a restaurant, and more on a par with a refectory in an upper end retail department store cafe.Service was adequate, but barely attentive, incongruous, even, with the perceived standard and reputation of the hotel in which the restaurant is situated.Starters were the high point. Sunday roast fare was very average, perhaps of a standard that one might expect in a gastro pub. Desserts were well presented but disappointing. Their hot chocolate fondant summed up the whole experience on this occasion - flat, ordinary, surprisingly so.One glass of red wine, bottled water, a glass of coca cola and four Sunday lunches racked up a restaurant bill of £130 which is in the price zone for a hotel restaurant with a long and enviable reputation, but it was overpriced for an underwhelming lunchtime dining experience, It just lacked the style we anticipated, and the staffing service had the feel of an end of summer season holiday city experience, ie "we've had a long hard season, we're all rather tired, we've made our money this year and now we just want our holiday".This is a hotel where a dining experience is one I have looked forward to for some years. Perhaps I have romanticised about how good it would be. On this occasion, for me, the restaurant just didn't do it for me.

Encouraged by a Gourmet Society offer we went again and ate lunch in an empty bar area. The food was OK..............the tomato sauce for my hamburger was in a minuscule jar.Seafood tagliatelle can be recommended.However being empty the waiter disappeared and we had to go and try and find him to pay the bill......and then we get charged 10% service with no option!!A place to avoid especially as there are better places in Chipping Camden.

When we arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome and taken straight to our amazing room it was massive very modern with a bath in the middle of the room but for the more modest of us there was a walk in wet room to die for!!! double sink and lots of room to put all our girly stuff. As it was my birthday and our anniversary there was champagne chocolates and flowers all complementary in our room!!! What an amazing surprise!!! we were booked in for an evening meal and we were not let down the food was was top quality. The wine was amazing and so were the puddings. The staff were very attentive when needed there is nothing bad I can say at all, I would ago back tomorrow many thanks Helen Owen
