I had a fantastic time with my mates on our last night out there

This pub like Dunnings has had a recent refurb. Prices aren't too bad anymore. Their provision of a pool table has added alot more appeal to the place. I personally run a few pool related competitions on monday free pool night. Also weekend entertainment has improved under Ricky's Discos good mix of past and present music which is useful for courting attractive women. Also most major sports are shown there. A personal recommendation from myself for this pub.they have changed the cloth on the pool table. It makes all the difference in the world.lol

Just been refurbished as a sports bar. Lots of screens and friendly staff.

We have came down to Watford on holiday from Scotland and have been told they do not accept scottish notes which is legal tender. This is horrendous customer service. I have to leave this review so other people from Scotland are aware!

Typical craft Union place with TV's, dartboard, and standard selection of beers. My wife and I are always 99% certain of getting our favourite drinks in these places and this one is no exception

No food here, but you can bring your own. Good place to go to watch football.. many screens. Great Karaoke on Friday!!!

Why would you close on a Friday night at 9:30pm and you've booked a DJ

Lovely atmosphere. Live DJ. And a pool table. Wished they had served food for longer on a Friday evening.

This is a great little pub staff nice, locals friendly and can't complain if want to watch sports as TVs plastered everywhere..!

Great place for a drink(or a bite) after work in a middle of busiest parts of Watford. Highly recommend ;)

An interesting experience for a place calling itself a craft union pub. Don’t believe the photos there’s no food on sale here. Also no craft ale or real ale. If you’re looking for lots of TVs, fizzy beer and a pool table then this is the spot for you. Enjoy

Had a couple pints, great if you want a DJ on a Friday. Staff are lovely.

First visit here as The Cother Arms. Good atmosphere in general. I even met one local person I know while there was karaoke and dancing.

I was disappointed by the air of hostility from the customers. I think they had been drinking. However Tangya seemed quite smiley and passive. There was some drug dealing in the toilets. Not in my price range. i don’t do class A. Crisps were ok - cheese and onion’s flavour.

We went there for a party it was great Tanya and Gary land lord and lady where fantastic recommend to anyone

Had a great nought celebrating Zoie s 30th birthday there was a 50th as well got them to join us brilliant atmosphere xx

Stopped for a late night drink on a cycle ride home from London. Was lovely to see pool tables, sport and a fab atmosphere. Outdoor seating was available which was really helpful to us. Please can you do Peroni on tap and I’ll be back daily 😃

Great place, great beers, great atmosphere and more importantly GREAT STAFF!

The only pub in the world which ran out of ice at 10 pm on Saint Patrick's day having convenience store in front so we ended buying our own ice and paying the same price

Feels like this pub keeps on changing! But it's a great all round boozer and I'm glad it's still around. A pint is pretty cheap in here, which is a plus. The new decor is decent and it's still an inclusive pub. The beers on tap inc Madri, Staropramen, Moretti, Fosters, etc. Has a pool table and darts. They have some entertainment on, although not sure if the live music is still happening.

The bar staff steal there customers phones to take numbers off of, just to send abuse to strangers! Be aware and avoid at all costs. Never have I seen this stalker behaviour anywhere in my entire life before from a public place!

Nice bar, good choice of drinks to choose from. There are plenty of tables to sit at and watch sport on the numerous TVs around the place. Friendly welcome and service.

A nice clean pub with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. Sports showing on TV, but doesn't dominate the pub. Feels like a friendly local.

Great pub that's under new management. Clean throughout and very well-kept beers. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. I was ecommended a great takeaway for when we were finished on the beers. The Dartboard and pool table are both in great condition. I will be back.

Turned up yesterday (Oct22). Asked for a Morretti after seeing the tap, to be told ‘we don’t have any’. As I looked at the other taps I was informed “we don’t have Fosters, Stella or Coors either”. This is before the planned strike of drivers. Hopeless Update : After getting a response from the new management, my wife and I revisited the Cother Arms 21st December 2022. I have to say things do seem to have improved. They had all the beers available, the staff all seemed friendly, it was clean, (Christmas) music wasn't to intrusive and loud. One small thing the mens urinals were out of order, not a problem when it is quiet, and I assume fixed now. I plan to return next week before the new year and will update, moved up to 3 stars.

New owner needs to understand how to treat the locals. He is a very young bloke so does not understand respect. Has gone down hill.

New Manager is awful, doesn’t say anything about last rounds or about the pub closing, tell everyone they need to drink up when it’s 5 minutes till closing even though they still serve until 10:55, this pub is only going down hill !

Filthy. Full of flies. Staff smoking dope out the back. Won’t go again.

Love this pub, great team of staff they have and host all sorts of different nighs to suit all!

Have only been here after its renovation but it’s a really quality place, very good prices for drinks, great views of the screens, nice and welcoming.

At the time of my Visit it wasn't very busy yet they were still empty glasses on tables and the WC needed servicing

A1 food and staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued

Came here on a stopoff to charge my phone. Only bought a pint of coke, read a book while the phone charged and they didn't bother me. That in my opinion is worth 5 stars on its own.

Lots of screens, showing lots of sport. TV screens could be a bit bigger though, maybe a projector for the main, and slightly bigger TVs for the others. A touch more atmosphere and it would be a great place, but I'll still go there now and again

Much cosier and welcoming since recent takeover. Food was really good with decent portions. Very filling.

Very disappointing experience. Could not cope with the amount of customers for the England game. They operate table service, but we were not seen for more than half an hour at a time. I had to constantly go up to the bar and ask to be served. The last time I went up, the ridiculously rude blonde waitress told me to sit down and said 'youre not the only customer in here are you'. Disgusting service.

People turned up. They announced were 'exempt' without any challenge from the staff. The managers don't care about my health. I don't care about their business,

Ok place considering rules etc. Food NOT great. Microwaved hotdog buns???? Fairly expensive drinks for the area .

Great local pub, new management have done a great job on making it nicer and revamping the place. Much more welcoming than it used to be. And a great place to watch the football and have some food.

Terrible customer service. Waited 40 mins for a pint and didn't arrive till we decided to leave. Never again.

Friendly, considerate service and it's good to see that they are following, and enforcing, the Covid-19 guidelines properly. The recent refurbishment and improved lighting has certainly brightened up the decor and created a pleasant, clean and inviting drinking hole.

Went in for a drink and some nibbles food with my 21yr old daughter and her boyfriend. Covid Table service and the 2 fresh looking young lads taking our drinks orders were just amazing ... only had to lift a finger and they were at our table in a flash and so polite . To the Landlord congrats for well picked staff and WoW such a Clean pub with a Calm atmosphere....🙂

Did not understand any of there covid secure measures as the drinks are poured without staff wearing gloves then you collect your own yet a coffee is bought to your table ?

Great pub to watch sport. On this occasion I was in for the 20 /20 Cricket versus Australia .Nice people peaceful place. Beer was ok .🏏⚽🏉🏐🏀🎾🏑

Girl behind the bar is Very good, the place is very nice and well equipped but unfortunately the hotdog I ordered was microwaved to death so lose a star for that... Otherwise, top notch.

Friendly staff very nice decour a little on the pricey side i:e I hand a pint of Peroni that cost me £5.40

The place have done a great job with the refurbishment. Reasonably priced drinks too. The staff are not the most welcoming though.

New and clean place with sport TV. Simple and tasty food.

The place is uncared for. The seats are broken, the barlady were on the phone while taking our order, she had to ask twice. The tables were dirty and it was a quiet day, I won't like to see a busy day.

An old school pub. Attended a Christmas party here. Drinks where reasonable prised the staff were friendly and accommodating. Plenty of seating a clean pub. I highly recommend.

Old school pub with great service and reasonable prices. Although the decor is dated, it is extremely clean and with plenty of seats, space and TVs for watching all the big matches. It has an outdoor space out the back for smokers, and best of all is dog friendly. There is no longer a kitchen but you can bring food in and there's a regular stream of events including live bands and poker.

Nice and interesting place, been there for a comedy night. The place has nice selection of drinks. The staff are really nice and welcoming. It is really hard to find a parking spot around the place so would advise to use public transport. Overall I enjoyed my time there.

A nice big pub that is trying to establish it's self as a live music pub, they have bands most Saturdays.

A very tired old pub with few redeeming features. It looks like there has been no investment for many years. Service was friendly enough, but cannot see this surviving much longer on this alone.

Best atmosphere and great live music !

Landlord is sharp as a tack. Looks after his customers and any DVD sellers, Aftershave sales men, Troublemakers all shown the door before they have even sat down. A model of how to run a straight pub.

If you are thinking about suicide then drink here, it will make you walk straight to the tracks at Watford Junction and its close so thats a bonus...

A local pub, you can't knock it for that, decent pubs with polite staff are hard to find in this part of Watford. Great for a drink and a chat
