Costa Coffee in Watford

Disappointed today. We use costa a lot. they mis made a brownie frappucino- adding coffee, when we asked for no coffee - their fault not mine, the guy who remade it was proper stroppy .... all over cream. Slim guy, short hair unshaven look. Needs a lesson in customer service

I have been going to this cafe for a long time because the coffee and hot chocolate are very good. But today I was sitting right across from the wall and I saw a lot of flying insects on the wall. and one fell into my coffee and it was very disgusting. Usually the tables are not clean and when we go there are still the plates of the people before us on the table. Cleaning is very poor.

Outrageous charges for dairy alternatives Charging addition 45p for oat milk makes an oat cappuccino £4.25 what a rip off. The espresso portion is charged at £2.25 so £2 for some alt milk ! They have the audacity to market this as “customise your drink” - most reputable coffee shops would never over charge for those that cannot drink dairy. Shame on you

Everything great. Except the staff are completely run off their feet, they need a payrise.

Seriously @Costa Coffee, LOOK INTO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had to walkout on my order of £7.75 without collecting it or asking for a refund because of the attitude of one colleague. That’s how bad it was that I would rather walk-out with what I paid for or to ask for a refund. Incident happened at about 15:23 on the 12/09/24.

Standard Costa Coffee outlet doing what it says on their label. As a fan, I tend to use Costa over their rivals. Snacks, drinks, welcome and service were all good as always and expected. They dropped a star on this occasion as although they weren’t busy and there were free tables, they hadn’t been cleared, on the face of it, for a while. Will still be back though.

45 minutes before costa coffee shop due to close I was told by big lady with black glasses and mousey hair in a pony behind the counter I could not have warm sandwich because she had already cleaned out the machine and prepared to hot the sandwich for me. As she would have to clean the machine again. She told another 2 customers after me the same. I doubt this is company policy. Poor customer service and loss of trade for costa coffee. Very disappointed will go to Starbucks next time or another competitor.

We decided to stop here for a coffee and toasted sandwich. Only cheese and tomato available which we chose. Cheap white bread no tomato, just a tomato puree type spread and tasteless cheese, it was horrible. The flat white was fine but the coffee frappe hardly tasted of coffee just the ice. Will avoid Costa in future. Lack of staff too.

Today 28th of November 2023, I was treated awfully by one of the costa staff for having an argument with another customer. The young man that works there screamed at me to get out because he sided with the other customer without even knowing what actually happened. Doesn't even matter who was right or not in the argument. He should of never spoke to me like that and scream at me to get out as I was politely trying to explain the issue. While I was trying to explain the situation he said he will call the security to kick me out and after screamed at me to get out while raising his hand and pointing to the door.I have never been spoken to like that before. My daughter was sitting next to me and my one year old . I hope my daughter will forget this incident and hope the manager there will fix their customer service as that was just scary. What I have learned is that I should not stand up for myself.

Me and my friend came in to get lunch. We both ordered a tuna melt panini and left with the sh*ts. Been sh*tting for days. Not happy!!

Mac and cheese was squashed and all out of the packaging

The croissant is not edible as is rock hard and stale. Glad I only got one of the two I ordered. The other croissant was substituted with a chocolate twist which was also past its best but edible. The sandwich and chocolate cake was nice as was the hot chocolate.

Waited so long to be served that I got a chair while I waited in the queue (I have a balance disability). Iced mocha was served hot so had to go back. Going to buy a cheaper one from Asda's fridge next time.

Costa is costa. This store was busy but clean. A lot more than I can say about my local store in saltash Cornwall Well worth the visit

In trying to rush people through, having to shout order, which was then wrong. Credited for overcharge cake (fine) but then get outside and mango cooler is wrong one. If they had just waited until the person with the pram in front could move forward, we wouldn't have had these issues. Rushing for no reason, store wasn't busy - so no excuse

Food rated low but my mistake of picking up a vegan sandwich, horrible sickly cheese and plastic fake ham, but my mistake. Coffee was banging as usual

Wonderful customer services. Have been here a few times now and have to Say the staff here work extremely hard even having to deal with some difficult customers but always service with a smile especially the polite gentleman called Josh.

Hot chocolate 2nd time round was nice but very hot… First one I was given was stone cold and staff were giving me attitude the entire time and hurrying me up to pay… Defo won’t be returning to this Costa that’s for sure, there’s plenty of other nice Costa’s around

Really nice little coffee shop for some down time or needing to get work done! The drinks here are really tasty and have a wide variety of food to accompany them. The atmosphere is normally quite quiet until lunch time where it can get very busy! The staff are friendly and will make the drink how you like it! 5 stars all around!

I really enjoy going to this coffee shop. The staff there are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is beautiful. I must recommend it.

Long queue, took ages to get through it. Not much seating, and lots of plates and cups left around from previous customers. The hot chocolate was delicious but the sandwich was a bit stale. Wheelchair access but couldn't get the wheelchair through the aisle. A lady with a pushchair walked out as she couldn't fit her pushchair through the seating area.

Plenty of choice, service slow nice atmosphere.

Very clean, friendly stsff and good tea/coffee

The coffee here is really nice but sizes can be bigger than other shops. A small here is fairly large and a medium size is about the same as a large elsewhere. Ask to see the cup size first if you want see how big your drink will be. Staff are friendly and service is usually quick. There's a good choice of cakes, pastries, and sandwiches etc but there's not much for vegetarians. This could be improved. The shop can be busy at times but is a good place to relax when quiet.

Soya late is not the same as it was before.

It's a Costa. Pretty typical and found staff to be friendly and my coffee met my expectations.

I love Costa coffee but the service was so slow and disorganised that I nearly walked out. Of the two members of staff, one was obviously new. The other member of the team seemed to be very impatient with the colleague. So much so that we waited nearly 20 minutes to get served. A pity, as the coffee was good as always.

I do like this Costa Coffee they have all the social distancing in place also sanitizer to use when you arrive and leave not too many tables and chairs. The staff are very helpful and friendly I only had a tea my friend had a coffee very nice

Quite usual for coffee shop to not wipe desks. But not very pleasant.

Not enough seating, tables are closed for no reason, no hot drink holders for takeaway and staff are slowest I have seen ever. So not recommend this place

Visited for a quick coffee during shopping. Absolutely shocked to see the lack of masks being worn by the staff! Government guidelines are quite evidently not being implemented which is very disappointing as you would expect hygiene levels to be of a high standard within hospitality given the current COVID circumstances!

The chocolate orange and after eight hot chocolates were scrumptious 😋

Nice coffee but food Is a bit pricey for me as well as the drink.I always take my own mug though so it may be a little bit cheaper for the drink and at the moment get extra points on the Costa app towards another drink .

As always, staff are friendly and polite. Shame I'll be abandoning Costa now they've ruined the loyalty card scheme.

Worst service. Ordered hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, received marshmallows on a wet napkin. Hot chocolate tasted like dirty water. This is the last time I go back to Watford Costa

Today five of us visited costa for a family outing. One of those five members was my two year old child. When inside I was walking over to my mother who was seated carrying my child and the lady working barged straight past with no apology, I took this on the chin. However when ordering we had said seating in and before we even had chance to say anything the lady began making our drinks. My sister then informed her we would like take away cups (this being cos of COVID at the moment we felt safer) at which point she sighed audibly and slammed the cup down on the side. I have never been faced with such a stinking attitude in a store and for this exact reason I chose to leave the establishment and will no longer be visiting your stores. As this is a customer facing job it is part and parcel to make the customer happy, I saw little hardship in pouring the syrup that was in the glass into a take away cup and shoving the glass in the dishwasher. When I commented on the attitude to the man behind the till there was not even a mutter of an apology.

After queuing for 15 minutes at 12.00 pm today, I walked out - I was about to miss my bus. Costa may want to sort out the staffing issues at this location

As you expect from Costa, clean and tidy and well laid out. Food and drink of good quality.

I went to get a Strawberry Infusion today, however the barista was quite rude. She gave me the wrong drink , which in itself is understandable as mistakes can happen however she the proceeded to raise her voice at me when I asked if what she was making was correct. She then insisted I try the drink she was making me instead of what I wanted. I felt a bit intimidated so I took the drink and left. I was very disappointed.

I went into the costa today and asked for a caramel frosty, they made me a latte I told them that wasn’t what I ordered and they started to very rude to me when I asked them to change it, the woman was horrible and made me feel horrible. After they gave me my drink I took a sip and it tasted completely off. I’ve never had such a bad experience with them !

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The vibes are just chill, perhaps some Jazz would elevate this place. Clean, staff friendly and received complimentary size upgrade for one of the drinks from lovely ladies. The sandwich 🥪 is lovely ☺️ and is tasty. Well done Costa!

Poorly organised worst costa I've been to tbh. Guy on till very quick then massive hold up making coffees with 3 doing it.

Unfortunately the coffee machine had broken down but the staff delt with it well.

The only issue is that their QR codes do not work, the NHS app doesn't recognise them.

Coffee always good here, but my visit today, hygiene control was lacks. Tables not cleared and when somewhere decided to have a go, tables were not wiped for hygiene and far to many customers not distancing or wearing masks, good chance I will not be back to this branch - Shame.

Brilliant and, with current taxation extremely cheap, I went in today expecting to pay 10+, for a large latte and a forsteeno, only came to 4.35

I often come in here after finishing work. Although it’s busy, it’s easy to unwind and watch their world go by. Staff are always friendly too. Special mention to Nicoly the manager (I think) who is always polite and welcoming whichever branch she’s working in. I also like their flavoured drinks, especially when new lines come in.

It is what it is. Over priced hot drinks, it is the age we live in.

Very rarely do I get tot have a coffee in. Delicious decaf skinny latte in a huge cup with a salted caramel Brownie rich and gooey. Very busy so a queue on a Saturday morning. Friendly staff.

Great venue. Shame the milk heater had not been working for 3 days. They have been let down

Your employee likes to chat with girls a lot more than serving customers. I was waiting for 3 minutes in front of the cashier and he started to take the order from the woman behind me... poor customer service

First time l have very poor coffee, returned first one as it was cold and second one was not much better

I been coming to this costa for long time ever since they emplyed this lady Nikoly she is very rude and horrible costumer service and plus she is very negative to any of the costumers that she dont like.

Took 15 minutes from walking in the door to actually receiving the right drink. The queue wasn’t very long but despite there being three people behind the counter the one taking orders seemed to be going off and making them too. Asked for a seasonal latte to be made with almond milk. Twice I said almond milk as it was clear she wasn’t listening. They presented me my drink complete with whole milk and cream - they didn’t ask if I wanted cream. They did remake it, however this took even more time. perhaps some review of the training given in Costa as they are slow, often falling over each other and interfering with jobs half done by someone else. It’s not just this costa either. And they STILL don’t have any gluten-free lunch offerings other than a flapjack. It’s always really busy in here though, so maybe they do something right, or perhaps it’s luck with location

Long queues, untidy and looks dirty as few staff and many people. Not keen to go there as does not feel like a regular costa coffee.

It's a chain store so you know what to expect, not the fastest service but staff have character, I like it.

Staff were friendly enough, although being a northerner it almost felt like they presumed we didn't have contactless, Costa app etc. might just be me but we do have tech up north!

Went into Watford Hight Street Costa and as I started my order, the lady interrupted straight away and guilt tripped me into buying a reusable cup. You get your coffee free if you buy one so she gave a coffee and a white chocolate free but I had to pay for the tea and cup. Then she said "you should definitely use that cup!" For £15, I'm going to! Then once the drinks were made I noticed that the white hot chocolate looked exactly like a normal hot chocolate! Seems her main interest was getting the cup sold rather than listening to her customer's order. Still the drinks were nice

Not as good as the Northwood Costa

My go to coffee shop, love it always good service, clean, good seating. Clean toilet facilities. Staff always have a smile.

Below Par Costa I popped in here to relax over a coffee after an unsuccessful shopping trip. One issue I have in many branches of Costa and other coffee chains is that do not work as a team but resemble a set of disjoint individuals! So, it was here. Despite there seeming to be enough staff service was very slow. The coffee was up to scratch but the overall impression was not good with uncleared tables and a floor in need of sweeping.

Nice service but I have seen flies on the food. See the attached picture.

I literally just went in to buy a coffee and a chocolate crossaint. My order was processed and I paid. The then gives me the bag with my order and i said ohh sorry i ordered a chocolate one. She then grit her teeth at me and showed such aggravation when i politely said sorry this is wrong. She said oh well they are called 'twists' and moves to the till to charge me extra. But I was so offended by her attiude I said it was fine I would just take the one she gave me. From then onwards I felt as if all of the staff went very funny with me. Very rude customer service. The crossaint was stale. and cold regardless. I did not take the name of the lady serving but she was young and had ginger hair. Will stick to Pret!!!!
