Chi Restaurant in Watford

6 months on from my last feedback.... this place has improved. Food quality is much better, I can notice that. Staff are polite and considerate. Good place to take kids for a meal. You can request NO spice or hot sauces on the meals or on the side, which makes it easier for children. Thank you

Such lovely workers who always greet us with a smile on their faces and are always so sweet and polite. The food is always amazing with great tasting asian food that always explodes with flavour in your mouth.

Right at the main entrance of the atria mall, this is a restaurant that has potential to be much better than it currently is. We have had sandwiches twice and found them lacking the punch you expect from this type of food. Also it lacks that freshness bit due to very limited amount of veggies. All other stuff in the sandwich tastes great, so once these things are fixed, it will be even better to taste. This place has some seats inside, and plenty more outside.

I ordered one Thai coconut prawn curry and one chicken Thai coconut curry. But almost 30-40 min after ordering they called me and said they have run out of prawns. But in the end they didn’t refund me the extra money that I spent on the prawn curry. And the order took so long to be delivered. But the food was great.

Delicious food at affordable prices. Nice atmosphere and clean. That's all you need!

Tried their chicken gyoza’s today and it was lovely!! Tasted super fresh and the sauce that came with it complimented it very much :) Will defo buy again!

This is what Ramen looks like in Chi Watford. Noodles is like from an instant noodle packets. You wont be able to sip the soup as is so thick.

Was shopping. No defined plans for lunch. And stumbled across Chi. Lucky me! What a little gem. Absolutely fantastic lunch. Vegetarian - pumpkin based - buger meal. Burger was excellent. As were the accompanying chips. Freshly prepared by passionate and engaging staff. And 10% off voucher on the day. Loved it all. Great experience. Not local to me unfortunately but when I am back shopping in Watford, Chi is definitely where I will be going for lunch. Highly recommended.

Never received order after waiting over 1hr

the ramen is not very good, not recommended, however the beef brisket is very tender, and adding £3 makes it a meal, comes with chips and soft drinks chip seasoning are nice

got a take away and ...wrong order.Instead of vegan was chicken so my son couldn't eat it.It was very disappointed the experience.

Just had an incredible lunch at Chi, and I'm already dreaming of my next visit. Their bao buns are seriously next-level!

I absolutely love their pork sandwich but the noodles are a bit salty. The wait time is a little long but worth it. Very friendly staff

Vietnamese loaded fries are very delicious and staff members are very patient and friendly.

Rice meal is okay. But the ramen they have is inedible, too salty, and too oily. Brought my child and they have high chair but does not have spoon, can not feed my child properly.

First we were told that the deal advertised on the HUGE poster outside was not running today (buy one get one free bao on Mondays) and they said the deal was starting tomorrow - which is a Tuesday, so it wouldn't run anyway!! Secondly they took 40 minutes to make our order.. Which was made wrong for both items we ordered!!! People who came in and paid after us were served their food before our order came too! We had our 12 month old with us who was getting extremely upset and agitated in the meantime. We asked for a refund for my incorrectly made meal and neither chef nor cashier were in any way apologetic about making us wait 40mins for an incorrect order.. I was so upset by that point that all I wanted was my money back and left the restaurant hungry with no food and an extremely unhappy child. Would give zero stars if I could. Terrible! Would suggest you 100% avoid and choose any other of the many, many better Watford restaurants and cafes on its doorstep!

35min wait in an empty place. Staff are clueless and look like they don't want to be there, food was cold by the time I got up and asked to be served

Excellent Korean / oriental Street food. Had the Korean burger meal, came with katsu curry dirty fries for £12... really great food, super clean kitchen amd friendly service. Would definitely recommend... the fries 🍟 were really crisp 👌 😋

Lack of options on menu, run out of bao buns, no Katsu fries, didn’t even have napkins and that’s just what we asked for!

Long wait for food , no toilet inside the premises, staff were bickering with each other which was unprofessional and the food was not brilliant. The rice was old and the dishes were exceptionally over priced and badly seasoned considering the quality. Shall not be returning do not recommend.

Whenever I am in Watford either for work or just shopping this is one of my go to places for lunch as both food and service are great. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try when you’re in the area.

Just come home to find out that my children ate at this restaurant today. My daughter has a peanut allergy and she checked the menu at no point being told that there was peanuts in the peri peri chips. Her meal came and her mouth started to tingle, she called the server over who didn't apologise swap her meal or anything Luckily she doesn't need any epi pen as the server wasn't bothered, didn't apologise and just left her to it. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. So angry right now, whilst I appreciate that they are teenagers this is still unacceptable.

I went to chi today and it was excellent the staff were lovely and the food was delicious the service was really quick as well I will definitely be returning very soon :)

saturday afternoon. fast food took 40 mins. £23 and two dishes disappointing. Better value at Wagamama. Food not bad but for what it is not great. FYI first time we tried this place proabably not again. A few complaints from other customers whilst we were sat there. Late food and wrong orders.

Took order and we waited 40 min. When we asked for food they said they forgot to print the order so we need to wait 30 more min as they have more order to prepare. Worst service ever

We came with a baby and needed some vegetables to feed her amongst our mains. Despite a bit of a supplier shortage meaning menu abruptly changed they were very accommodating and helped a huge amount with providing her some Cauliflower and overall making sure we have a good lunch. Food was OK but great service and kind people 👍

I was visiting Watford town centre and I fancied something for lunch. There is a HUGE variety of eateries in the shopping centre and High Street but I would definitely recommend Chi for something tasty. I had the Chicken Satay rice bowl and the lady who served me was very friendly and welcoming. I did not have too long to wait for my food to arrive and it was really good. They have seats inside the restaurant however these were all taken which I think is a testimony to their popularity. There is also a small food court area outside the restaurant where you can sit and eat. Some of the seats also have charging points which is handy. Excellent!

Food took a long time to arrive. Waiter took it to wrong table at first. Tables were sticky to touch. And 2 of the staff were just standing there while tables were dirty. Chicken was very hard. Tasted ok. But 2 out of three of us ate here, including myself. Now same two people are sick. Strongly do not recommend.

Visited this restaurant and I was a little disappointed. We had the Korean fried chicken bowl and that as tasty but small smaller than I expected. The boa buns was so small for £5.50 and only had 1 small piece of chicken… absolution ridiculous portions.

Visited the restaurant on Friday had a lovely meal, Jess was really friendly and knew a lot about the menu, I had the KFC with Korean BBQ and it was lovely, will definitely be back :)

One of the worst things I have eaten recently. It does not even look good. Ordered egg noodles with vegetables but there is absolutely no taste. That was my first and last time there.

The food is not worth as the price. Delay to serve food. I ordered Korean fried chicken. The rice is very dry. Cannot eatable.

Bland over priced food with terrible service. £2.50 for a can of coke? £14+ in total with a small bowl of white rice n tasteless bits of dry chicken. The server was too busy talking to her colleagues in empty restaurant to bring out the waiting food she had promised to bring out to the table, I had to go in and ask after waiting 15 minutes for the now cold 'Street food'. When asked how long it had sat there waiting, she replied "only a few minutes". Great fast food service!

I had a Katsu curry There was one spoon of sauce and the rest was just white rice and chicken which had the batter falling off so it was basically bland white rice definitely not worth £11 I should have gone to Wagamama

Went here for a quick lunch while shopping in Watford. I ordered a Bao bun and my daughter ordered a Chow Mein. Hers came out and she had almost finished while I was still waiting for mine. Turns out they had somehow missed my order off (though it had been charged for) but it was very tasty and filling when it came. Fairly priced too.

Food is lovely - great fried chicken burger and sides. However wait times are far longer than you’d really want for a fast food/street food place. I understand they’re a small team and have a very small kitchen but I dread to think how they cope if it gets busy!

Stood in queue for over ten mins to be told they can’t take any orders at the moment coz they were too busy taking telephone orders. Why not just shut shop and start take away phone orders only? This was a sat evening. Won’t bother again. Expect to wait an hour for ur food.

We visited this place today myself & my partner ,we spoke with the waiter who said we could sit but forgot to mention they were not serving food for a while so we thought let's get a drink and wait ,two normal size cans of drink costing £5.25 absolutely shocking price, still after 15 minutes we could not order so decided to leave ,no customer service at all ,scruffy women behind the counter aswell not a good look .so many people just sat there waiting to order .I'm surprised its still got customers

Avoid avoid avoid. Doesn't even deserve 1 star... 1 hour wait to be told at the end they are unable to make the food! Then to be told that only 1 person in the kitchen and very busy! Wasted my Sunday afternoon here! Never again

Worst food ever and the the two people working there did not have a clue, me and my daughter sat down, took 23 minutes for my dish to arrive, one bite I left it. Must be the worst place I been to

Used to be really good food. Sadly this has gone downhill a bit and the prices have gone up. £2.75 for a can of coke to takeaway...... Come on Also 10-15 minute wait for takeaway. As this is fresh food i wont penalize it but it definitely used to be cooked quicker in the past.

The restaurant and staff were good, along with the veg gyoza. The main, however, I just found bland (prawn pad thai noodles & chow mein noodles). Whist it was edible, it simply lacked flavour for my palate. Sadly, it was disappointing as I was expecting some bold flavours.

We have eaten here twice now and plan to come back again soon! The food is delicious and fresh and the staff are super friendly, especially Ash 😊

Ordered food to eat in kept waiting every time I asked how long was told 5 mins every time. After waiting for an hour asked again how long was told will be 10 mins I asked for a refund and was asked to fill my personal detail to get my money back. This place is a joke don’t go there to waste your time and be treated with disrespect.

Exceptional food and service. Loved our time there. We intended to have a snack and eat elsewhere later. Couldn't manage this. Chi's food was more than enough. Yummy is the word. Our meal became the only one we needed that day.

I haven’t been to Watford in a long time and amongst all the new restaurants, this fast food place was of pretty good quality. Everything was made fresh and quick. The Baos were great as they hit all parts of the taste buds with the crisp of the chicken/pumpkin, crunch and vinegaryness of the pickled veg, great sauces. Honestly perfect package for a bao. The dirty fries were great too. The combination of toppings were very nice and suited. Wish there was more sauce though but otherwise great.

We had a great experience at Chi! Ash was very helpful with helping us pick our desired food! The food itself was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and will definitely be returning!

Ordered chicken Massam curry and was served Chicken in Katsu curry which was very very salty . Novice people running and cooking . Terrible , Terrible place . Rude and in experienced staff . Never go here . They need to learn how to cook a Maasam curry when ordered and not serve severely salted Katsu curry instead. Only good thing my kids liked on the menu was bao bun and Dumplings . Photo of Massam curry and the actual dish are like chalk and cheese .Pathetic place .waste of our lunch time ( family of 4)

What a great place!! I Have never been here before, but so glad i popped in. They have quite a bit on the menu but i chose the korean fried chicken with katsu curry. I asked the young lady serving if i could have the sauce seperatly and my rice to one side, without hesitation or a grumble both her and the young chef smiled and said it was fine. That was so unexpected from a fast food place but these guys were more than polite. I sat at a table waiting and before you know it the young lady brought my food up with a smile, what a service. As i opened my food, allready you could see it was fresh and clean, just cooked. Everything was perfect. How this young lad can cook this food so perfect is amazing. What a team they both make. Im so impressed I just got to share this. Its only small place, right at the front entrance of Watford shopping centre. They are on uber, just eat, deliveroo. If you want the best experience go in and eat, you got chopstix and sauces. This place has constant people walking in. Its busy for a reason.

I visited here with my brother. He stipulated no jalapeños.... his meal was served with jalapeños! I asked for a cup of tea. Lunch arrived after 10 mins... no sign of my cup of tea. My bother asked for it again. It still did not arrived. I asked again... it arrived 3 minutes later... with a burst tea bag. I asked them to take it back and then 2 minutes later at last the tea arrived! I highlighted I was not happy with the service and was told the delay was because they had to go out and buy milk!!! The jalapeños were picked off my brothers meal but... lucky him.... there were still plenty left on! Also. No customer toilets here!

Food was absolutely horribly and vastly overpriced for what it was.Apart from the dumplings we ordered everything else was horrible.The noddles had so much salt I felt I was gonna be sick and the chicken was incredibly bland.They are charging exorbitant prices for horrible food.

The bao buns are so good and the staff are so kind! I asked for a little bit of cucumber for my baby and they cut her slices on a little plate 🥺. LOVE the pork buns here too and the pumpkin ones also!

Food is AMAZING! I used to go to Seoul a good bit for work. The Korean chicken is spot on. Best chicken I’ve had in the UK. Very kind and attentive staff. Clean restaurant. Just great overall. Will be back soon.

We had a really enjoyable time at the Chi Restaurant. We were greeted with a smile and served extremely quickly. The bao buns were absolutely delicious, full of flavour as were the dirty fries. Would definitely recommend and I'm already excited for the next time we go there

Was torn between this and the restaurant next door for lunch and soo pleased I chose this one! Beef curry was amazing and very filling, as advised by the very friendly male who took care over the food preparation. Already looking forward to revisiting for the flavour!

Really loved the Crispy Panko Pumpkin Bao bun with the dirty sweet potato fries deal. Staff were really friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend it if you like Asian food.

Popped in for a quick bite today and the food is very tasty. Definitely worth the wait. The bao buns are abit on the small side but are very filling. The dirty fries i had with pork was probably the highlight of the meal. Very tasty and filling. Also has the katsu chiken noodle bowl was very very tasty. Will definitely go back here again. Didnt catch any names but enjoy the tip girls. Many thanks
