Highly recommend- great customer service and the team brings out a warmth that brightens the atmosphere and shows their care to your needs. The food is excellent and the place clean

Sam was the best aspect of this restaurant as he gave wonderful suggestions not just about the menu, but also about the main points to see in Oxford. The food was good, however, the vegan option on the prix fixe menu was not available, and there was no way to sub it. While I understand that the costs of different materials can vary, if the standard option is not available at all, a replacement vegan option should be honored.

First time dining here. I had a really lovely lunch having chosen the tuna with a recommended side of fries. All the ingredients were obviously fresh, presentation stunning and the combination of flavours were delicious. I had a very warm and friendly welcome from Sam who was also absolutely proficient and an invaluable credit to the Team. Well done Sam, thanks for your recommendations, menu knowledge and overall service. I look forward to visiting again soon

Our go to for Pre theatre dinner did not disappoint Husband really enjoyed Pumpkin Soup and Steak Frites Excellent service from our waiter Sam. Fantastic family meal at Cote oxford. Our server Sam was brilliant. Speedy, funny, chatty, helpful & attentive. He really made our night! The food was amazing. Great french onion soup, superb steak frites and the paris-brest desert is to die for. Delicious wine and calvados made our visit super special. Definitely recommend.

Our first visit and will definitely be back. Our steak was delicious; we'd been told that there would be a delay in our meals as the restaurant was very crowded so we'd ordered garlic bread to share, but our main courses arrived just as we were finishing. Friendly and attentive staff without being suffocating.

I thought some of the food wasn't that fresh, bit overpriced for what I got

Always buzzy atmosphere in Cote which we really enjoy but the fact that the restaurant was heaving didn’t adversely affect the service, which was speedy and the Cote de Boeuf was delicious

We had Sirloin Steak and Confit Duck a’la Orange for main and the crème brûlée + Paris Brest for dessert. The sirloin steak was well cooked and tasty, the duck was ok. A little disappointed with the portion size, a bit small for the price. Staffs were helpful.

Sarrena was our server tonight and she was amazing. Was my partners birthday, and she gave us complimentary drinks and overall service was amazing!!

A birthday breakfast for my 80 yr old mum. The staff were brilliant - the main guy with an excellent sense of humour, and the waitress very efficient and lovely! The breakfast options were fantastic - avo on toast great, shakshuka too along with eggs royale!

I ordered a medium rib-eye steak but received a well-done one, and it was even a bit burnt. The waitress was very nice and quickly brought us a replacement steak, but unfortunately, the new steak still wasn’t cooked to medium. To make matters worse, we were initially charged for both steaks! While they did correct the bill, there was no effort to compensate for the inconvenience or the poor-quality steaks. Overall, the service was friendly, but the kitchen and billing issues left us with a less-than-ideal dining experience.

Great place and food, but what stood out was just how great the staff were. They were incredibly helpful as we settled with our three children. Nice private spaces to eat, lovely kids menu and high chairs available.

Rib eye steak was fantastic, and the creme brulee was a delicious dessert to round off an excellent meal. Service was exceptional from the moment we walked in the door. Excellent gluten free options, including beer. Highly recommended!

The espresso was good. The greater was snooty and condescending. The food was overpriced and portions were small. Ordered the butternut squash with goats cheese. It was mostly a breaded tart with little butternut squash and almost no goats cheese for ~£16. A bit of a ripoff.

Excellent French Restaurant. I loved the onion soup (which I wanted to try for some time) and the Salmon Bernaise (which tasted way better than I thought). It had a nice and cosy interior with friendly staff, making our visit better.

Always reliable for excellent food, this is a good Côte. The style of the building makes it feel cramped/too tightly spaced tables. The restaurant was very busy so service was slow. Nevertheless, Côte always comes through.

Well done Cote, Oxford, visited Wednesday lunchtime with 2 friends and had a lovely welcome followed by excellent service and a fab meal. What more could you ask for.

We had a matinee theatre performance so pushed for time. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I had asked for a cosy corner table when I booked which had been reserved. The food was very tasty and although busy we were looked after well. I would visit again.

Food was wonderful! We went for lunch. Everything was top notch. Service was a bit lacking and it took forever to get our starters (which they removed from the bill at their suggestion for our wait time). They had low staff that day we were told. But they still put out quality dishes. We’d go back for sure.

Steak frite cold . When reserved told it was tested and was hot by waitress , but butter a solid cold lump on top . Third time marginally warmer . Brought beans out much later than mains. Table in a walkway and my chair knocked more than once by waiting staff . Disappointing experience . Eaten at several other Cotes over many years , without complaint.

Thé restaurant was fully booked for lunch on Remembrance Sunday and unfortunately the kitchen couldn’t really keep up. We waited 45minutes for starters, and 90 minutes for mains. The waiting staff were lovely and very apologetic, and took some items off our bill (even though we didn’t complain!). Food was good - the cheese soufflé and fish Parmentier were excellent. All in all a very enjoyable lunch but only because we weren’t in a hurry!

The meals are good and authentic - well prepared and well presented. Service good and efficient particularly in view of how very busy the restaurant was.

I was astonished to find a lovely gluten free menu. I chose the slow cooked belly pork....WOW it was the best I have ever had...cut like butter...and the crackling was amazing 😍 thank you for a great meal, and calling me a taxi. A great end to an otherwise awful day.

We often go to the theatre in Oxford and we *always* choose Cote for reliable, good quality food and service that will get us out in good time. But we always book - "walk in's" are often turned away during the pre-theatre slot as they are already full.

Sam was brilliant as a waiter. He was excellent with us and the other three tables around us. Thank you for making our evening so excellent.

We had a delightful time at the Côte Oxford! The service was very nice and friendly, making us feel right at home. They even surprised us with a complimentary sparkling wine to celebrate my son's birthday, which was a lovely touch. The food tasted wonderful, and the atmosphere added greatly to the experience. Highly recommended for a warm and enjoyable dining experience!

Popped in for coffee on a Sunday morning. Nice staff but it took a really long time given we were just after two coffees and it wasn't busy when we ordered.

The main problem with our meal was the loud and inconsiderate people on the next table. The manager did nothing about them, did not apologise for our experience but did move us but to a not great table and made no effort when I asked for a better one, when there would have been options. The couple next to us complained just before we did and he moved them to a table for four. He could have moved them to the small table we had and the three of us to the table for four. Food was great as usual and the waitress was attentive but we did not really enjoy our evening, which was a shame as it was a celebration.

Cote really has gone downhill, booked for my birthday with my wife and daughter who has Coeliac disease, we clearly noted this on the booking, arrived at the restaurant waited inside a cramped entrance and were ignored for approximately 10 minutes. Eventually seated in a room off the main restaurant with an extremely noisy table of eight where we literally could not hear ourselves think! We couldnt even hear what the waitress was saying much to her annoyance, my daughter wanted steak to subsequently be told they didn’t have any and the only option was ribeye which was more expensive and didn’t come with the choice of accompaniment she wanted, the waitress had to go and ask her manager if the could accommodate her choice to which they agreed but felt as if it was more of a favour than actually offering a service. Because of the noise from the party of eight I asked if we could move to a different table on two occasions both times this was declined, after a few more minutes we decided enough was enough and we wanted to leave by this time we had already had drinks and our starter, I went to the reception desk and said we were not happy and was presented with a bill for £35! Which I of course refused to pay given the appalling service to which the unapologetic manager reluctantly agreed. We left the restaurant and found an amazing Thai restaurant opposite where we received amazing service and lovely food and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Having previously had excellent meals and service at Cote in Bournemouth this experience has meant that we will never return, maybe the staff should visit the Thai restaurant opposite to see what great service is really like and learn a thing or two!

We were a group of 10 ladies who had lunch at Côte Brasserie Oxford in October 2024. The food was excellent and Leandré our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in Oxford.

A wonderful family visit to this restaurant and cannot recommend it highly enough. Made to feel welcome as soon as we entered, checked in and shown to our table straight away and the service and attentiveness was first class from there on in. Food was perfect and the whole vibe just great.

Food was great. egg had a bit of egg whites uncooked, only downside. The sausage, tomato, mushrooms and bacon were excellent. However, they brought my breakfast only 30 minutes after my coffee - it was already cold by then. And there was only one more table in the restaurant! And afterwards they forgot to bring me my croissant. The food is very good - the service, very bad

We had the pleasure of having lunch at Côte Brasserie in Oxford on a rainy day, but despite the gloomy weather, the staff went to great lengths to make our experience a memorable one. Our hosts, who had come from all over Europe, were truly accommodating and ensured that we had a very pleasant time. The food was well-prepared, delicious, and offered at a great price for the quality. While the rain may have dulled the atmosphere outside, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff more than made up for it. Overall, a lovely spot for a cozy meal in the heart of Oxford.

Absolutely amazing experience in all regards, will come again. We had a person in our group with coeliacs and were given a gluten free menu, fantastic allergy awareness from the waiter in general. Food itself was incredible and also very quick for a full meal.

we ordered a spaghetti and a burger. the spaghetti is quite well made and yummy but the burger is a no. don't order a burger in a French restaurant. the dessert is nice! service is good and atmosphere is great.

A group of africans origin very loud as if they were the only ones there or as if the place was theirs, I ordered grilled fish, and received fish pie in a small portion, I think it was bought from Saysburi or a supermarket and only put in the oven, the price is too high compared to the small portion and not tasty,The toilet not clean and inside was the depot of a lot things.

I have had to greatly downgrade my original review after a very poor experience tonight. We had to wait 45 minutes for our main course (bog standard steak and chips, nothing fancy) and then when it arrived part of the order was missing. The steak was tough and lukewarm. When we reported this to the management they didn't even offer an apology. Really poor service. Won't go back in a hurry.

My husband and I came on a Tuesday evening. We were offered a choice of seating and promptly served. We chose starters from the menu-calamari and pate respectively then decided on the "Steak Soiree" offer. Food was delicious and service was efficient and courteous. Highly recommend.

Very nice french themed restaurant. The food was nice and well presented, although I was disappointed to see a duck leg instead of breast And it could have been done with a little more orange sauce, I also had to wait 5 mins for the potatoes which wasn't ideal. I would also note that they enforce a 10% tip also not ideal. Tips shouldn't be enforced, a tip Is a gratitude for service. They also only do bottled drinks and they are very pricey for 330ml.

I made a last minute reservation here for my Mum's 65th and it was the best night. We were welcomed with a free glass of Prosecco each, the food and wine were phenomenal, service very attentive and lovely atmosphere. Thank you!

Having enjoyed a delicious two course meal at lunch time today I thoroughly recommend Cote. It's a while since I last ate there, but I shall be eating there again soon.

Very disappointed with the food and service. The scallops I had were sliced thinly so not whole scallops. The duck a la’ orange just had 2 segments of mandarin orange on - I thought it came with an orange sauce??? The steak one guest had was sent back as too rare and came back just as rare - although it was not charged the guest was not impressed. The young waitress must have been having a bad day as she was really miserable and unfriendly 😩

Great dinner at Cote. Better than expected and great service from attentive waiters. We were sat next to a noisy group and when a table came free, they moved us to a quieter place without us asking. House wine good enough with the pasta. Enjoy!

I dropped in Oxford Cote on a whim alone for an early dinner. I chose a an ala carte main - duck al orange served with braised pickled red cabbage & dauphinois potatoes. I ordered a small 175ml Merlot. Best whim I have ever made in a long time. Despite being a franchise , the main was beautifully executed. The duck was delicately flavoured and falling off the bone. The red cabbage was the star, not overpowering, just enough piquant to lift the duck and the dauphinois (served separately in a portioned oven dish - well thought out presentation of dish). The detail is perfectly executed and so is the cooking and flavours. The Merlot at good value did not fail to live up to the food. For pudding, I chose the Cafe Gourmand which is a set of bite-size puddings (3 varieties) teamed up with a coffee of my choice. Such a great idea to have pud and coffee without feeling glutton. The coffee I chose was noisette, perfect double espresso with hot milk foam on the top. The staff are well trained, calm, professional and knowledgeable, a rarity these days. Old school hospitality. They more than deserved the service charge of 10%. Do not underestimate a franchise like Cote in Oxford. It has been a long time since I walked out of a restaurant happy and feeling absolutely satisfied with every aspect a dine-out experience. I will return for sure. Well done, Cote in Oxford.

Sumptuous food, large portions. (If we had any idea about the portion sizes, we would have ordered less food). The service was slow, and our orders were actually mixed up with some starters making it to the table, causing a bit of embarrassment to our host.

Food excellent. Service slow despite early evening and only few tables occupied. Directed to a table near the toilet when other tables were free. Glitch with menu as it was whisked away after we had made our choices, when we were asked for our order, to be replaced with a "Weekend Menu". Long delay then before someone returned to ask about drinks and a longer wait for order to be taken. Staff were friendly and menu priced reasonably.

The atmosphere of this place was quite nice and the service attentive and friendly. In particular Mr.Leandro was a 5 star host! Food-wise it was really good and in particular the duck à l’orange I had was melting in my mouth. I don’t give 5 stars only because of the portions size and because I would’ve liked to taste a little bit more orange for the duck dish. Overall a good experience and I’ll definitely come back and taste more dishes!

Waited over an hour to receive first course and wine. Starters of cheese soufflé was sent back as it had sat under a hot plate and dried out.. scallops starter that were so small they must have come from the local frozen counter at Tesco’s. Mains were not much better with my partners fillet steak that was the tail end cut hence messy and over cooked in parts. Our daughter’s sirloin that was thinner than the sole of my shoe … terrible … I didn’t want to complain as it was our daughters meal out for graduation… they had the cheek to leave the service charge on even though I sent back my starter with no replacement. Eat somewhere else is my tip…
