A great place after a day's photography. We chose it because one person needed gluten free. Great menu, lovely food friendly and attentive staff.

Had a lovely meal from the brunch menu. The atmosphere was lovely and the service from staff was fantastic. The manager was so welcoming and went out of his way to make us feel valued. An exceptional dining experience!

Good food and exceptional customer service

From Authentic French Cuisine to Disappointing Fast Food As someone who has frequented Côte Highgate for several years, it saddens me to witness its decline. What was once a charming spot for authentic French cuisine has sadly morphed into what feels like a French McDonalds. The rib-eye steak, a former highlight, now disappoints with an odd lamb-bacony taste that is both unexpected and unpleasant. It’s a far cry from the succulent, perfectly cooked steaks I remember. Similarly, the calamari, once crisp and delicate, now seems to shout “OILLLLLLLL” with every bite, leaving a greasy aftertaste that lingers far too long. Seven years ago, Côte Highgate was an amazing place, a true gem in the neighborhood. Today, it feels like another establishment ruined by cutting corners and compromising on quality. It’s a heartbreaking transformation, and I hope they find a way to return to their roots and restore the exceptional dining experience they once offered.

A lovely meal in very pleasant surroundings and I will definitely go there again.

My first time dining in and what a wonderful experience. The team worked seamlessly together and clearly had a great rapport for each other. The food arrived quickly, hot, and full of flavor. Dessert was equally decadent and rich. Hostess and her staff were very welcoming and hospitable. Very nice restaurant I’ll gladly dine in again at.

Very mediocre food at incredibly high prices. A bottle of water was priced at £5.50 and a big glass of wine £13.50. 3 small starters and 2 salads, 1 bottle of water and a glass of wine for £89.90. Getting the attention of staff was a challenge. They spent time talking to each other in the bar area, very often with their back to customers or seemingly arguing. We left the place feeling very disappointed.

Top notch! Wonderful meal again this particular branch oif Cote is the best! Busy, loud but fun staff are spot on, attentive polite and professional!

One of my favourite restaurants.

A culinary enrichment in this beautiful part of London. Near a romantic park. The grave of Karl Marx is in the cemetery next to it. Best access from Archway Station - Northernline subway. Various buses from there or 20 minutes on foot. The restaurant is very cozy. Have a good meal. 😀

Does not accept payment by cash, but this is NOT on the menu, it is NOT on the website and the staff do NOT tell you this until you go to pay. Management need to sort this out. This practice is discriminatory.

It was a cold night but we received a warm welcome. Comfortable restaurant, good service and delicious food.

The family (7 of us) have just returned from celebrating my 92 year old mothers birthday. Cote is faultless. Lovely atmosphere, excellent and friendly service, an extensive menu to choose from and all of it excellent quality and value for money. It deserves to go from strength to strength.

Took my family there for breakfast menu. Portions v small and toast limp. Reasonably priced but somewhat soulless environment. Would not rush back. (Croque monsieur terrible)

It was a lovely Sunday, perfectly cooked, nice choice of sides and great French fries. A few more ounces for the beef would be perfect:)

A very disappointing experience. The place was practically empty and probably because the food is not up to the standard of other Cote Restaurants. The main course steaks arrived luke warm and the cheese souffle was extremely disappointing compared to other restaurants smaller and less tasty for the same price. I ordered an orange and mango drink which I was assured was freshly squeezed which it wasn't. Certainly not going back again !

Sadly it no longer takes cash. Although I enjoyed and the Staff were excellent, I will no longer use this chain. Cash option is a must.

We went there for breakfast today but we will not go back I’m afraid. The only reason they get two stars and not one is because of the lovely lady who was our waitress. The food was utterly average to bad in one case (the watercress was wilted as you can see in the pic - should never have been served). Stale toast and overcooked eggs Benedict… It’s such a shame because the staff is so nice and trying to do their best…

We went to cote yesterday and it wasn’t good. The service wasn’t good and the timing was off. Food was so so. Service was not good - one of the diners who was with us was allergic to nuts so midway through ordering our food it was mentioned and the server immediately stopped taking our order to get the the manager and the tablet as it was necessary for ordering. The server said she’d put through our starters as we were hungry and the manager arrived 10 minutes later with no tablet. Seemed a bit pointless but we continued our order with the manager. We told her that the starters were already through - they were not. Communication between staff wasn’t good. Next, we got our starters and 20/25 minutes after finishing eating a server came over to ask did we enjoy our meal. We informed him that it was our starters and we had mains coming and could he clear the table. I’d somewhat understand if the restaurant was busy but it wasn’t and staff stood chatting to each other rather than clear the table. Mains arrived, they forgot a tomato salad and my truffle chips. They gave regular chips on the house as a substitute but then as we neared finishing the meal brought me the truffle chips (that were over cooked) and charged us for them. Food was so so. I got fish stew and it was a bit watery. Chips were not truffle. The bill came and we had to ask for items not received to be removed. Service charge was of course already added - they didn’t forget that. Won’t return, service and food not up to par.

Overall nothing special. Salad Rachel was covered in mayonnaise, the duck was dry and overcooked but the chocolate mousse was quite OK. Service was muddled. They need to get their act together

Was meant to celebrate Father’s Day here but eventually had to walk out without even ordering after being left unattended for so long, both when we arrived and when we sat down. We are certainly not diva’s when it comes to these types of things but watching hapless servers actively avoiding our gaze on a half empty section of the restaurant turns from understanding to annoyance after 15-20mins. With all do respect, one doesn’t come to this type for restaurant for a culinary adventure but rather a consistent, deliverable experience. Watching that agreement fall apart suggests there’s more wrong here than just the front of house.

We had a large family meal here. The staff were wonderful, really attentive and helpful. The food was standard Cote fare, French dishes some done well, others less good. The French Onion soup was disappointing, but my roast lamb was good.

Great service and a fine atmosphere. The staff are very polite and they looked happy working there too ! Our Onion based soup wasn't the best but my chicken salad was great. Everything was prepared fresh and definitely would go again. Thank you for a great evening. Thoroughly enjoyed my semi-healthy meal after a long day of walking.

The service was very good, but the food was average. There seemed to be ingredient substitutions or omissions in the meals from what was stated on the breakfast menu. Perhaps this was due to a busy bank holiday weekend and may not be an ongoing issue, but this was not mentioned by the staff. In any case, the food that was served was underwhelming and does not inspire a return visit. On the other hand, the coffee and the service was good and accommodating to families so I would recommend going for that reason.

It was nice enough but I prefer the buzz of the Barbican, Sloane Square, and the Southbank. Just a preference. Nothing negative at this Cote. Always high standard and value for money.

always consistently good food, speedy good service

The food was absolutely excellent. My pork confit was perfect in temperature and crispyness with an intense jus. The same for my wife's duck confit. The vegetables also were perfect. I love also that the food arrived hot. There was more delay in service then I was happy with but that's the only detraction from a superb meal.

Overall a bit disappointing. The ambience is nice and staff are friendly but main course was disappointing. First course of Calamari was delicious and well presented. Main course of Quiche aux champignons was a mini quiche about 3" in diameter piled high with the slaw and tomatoes salad. I queried this dish and to be fair the waiter immediately and graciously offered to exchange it for something else but I decided to persevere because I like to try new things and I was hungry. With hindsight that was a mistake. I was expecting a quiche of a delicious herby savoury custard filled with mushrooms in crisp shortcrust but in fact I only found one piece of mushroom and a custard to a depth of maybe 2mm buried under a pile of slaw. A huge disappointment and it should not really have been allowed out of the kitchen. I should have sent it back I suppose but I was hungry. The fries that came with it were plentiful and tasty. On balance I wouldn't return.

Walked in off the street on Easter Sunday and got a table . Food , service, and atmosphere, as always with cote, was faultless other than some very soogy cucumber with the crab starter . Cote has an amazing Sav called Roche that I would highly recommend . Staff here were super attentive despite it being a busy shift . As a solo diner I couldn't wish for any more .

A very good meal and service with a free bottle of wine as it is January. Alas, as we had our small dog with us, we had to sit in the terrace area which was too cold at 1 degree even with the heaters.

Beware of your request, lest they get it wrong . Without remorse on their part. Requested for medium sunny side up eggs. Got runny eggs. I did the needful and took a walk .....

Had a meal here with my mate, David. Food was excellent. He had fish pie and I had a Brêton (fish) stew. Both were absolutely excellent. Staff were attentive and pleasant. The taste of the meals was great and the vibe was relaxed. Great to take your family too, or just eat alone. Top drawer.

It's been over 2.5 years since left the area and returned for a nostalgic meal last night. Côte never disappoints. The service was as delightful and friendly as it ever was, and the food was still delicious. Thank you Côte for not letting us down, it was a very happy meal indeed (no pun intended!).

This place has the worst service you could image. Wating 35 minutes for a cold starter, and 15 minutes for a desert menu, and the taste is mediocre - small portions. The only nice thing with this restaurant is the space/facilities.

I have been going to Côte Brasserie in Highgate for many years. Lovely restaurant, brasserie style, the food is pretty good and the staff great. The terrace in the summer is a plus. The prix fixe menu in particular is excellent value for money. On this occasion I had the salmon rillettes, lovely presented with the salmon in its own cute little jar really good. First time I had the poulet provençale and it was delicious. As for the chocolate mousse, if you're a chocoholic like me, you'll be in heaven. The recipe was twisted over the covid period resulting in a slighty thicker, richer but still very smooth and truly delicious mousse. Heavengly indeed!

We came here for a celebration and had a party of 13 people. We had to pre-order but that is no biggie but would have prefer to order on the day, as weather and mood might have changed my choice. Decent food but not spectacular. Service was average, not amazing and a little disorganised. Some of our pre-ordered dishes were forgotten.

I always love the food and the variety at Côte ! It is quite expensive (with desserts and no starters, we spent around £60 for two people).

Came across initially as a bit pretentious, but the customer base is very broad, and families in there too made the difference. Food good, service a little slow if one was in a hurry, but that's not healthy anyway! Pricing about average, and there's a bus stop opposite, which worked well for us. A nice "dining experience" all round, and tips go to the staff... Sadly I have to amend my earlier review as in VERY small type there's the fateful message 'card payment only'. Regular watchers of my reviews will know that I find this both lazy and reprehensible. There is NO excuse to deny us 'Luddites' the option. If this is the chosen path, make it more prominent on the menu so there's no embarrassment when payment is due. Apart from this all my other comments still apply. Good food, attentive staff and interesting cabaret...

Went for brunch. I thought the coffee was excellent and it wasn't overly busy, decent size. The food was hit and miss, sausages and black pudding were good, the eggs royale not so. Baby changing facilities available though no lid on the toilet seat so breastfeeding in that space cannot be done sitting down, it's either standing or sitting on the floor.

Although being a chain, I always enjoy my meal when I go to a Cote restaurant. Even this time at the Cote Highgate. Had a quick lunch with the 2 course menù. Good portions and quality for the price. Excellent service as usual too. Good job guys.
