Cote Brasserie - Manchester in Manchester

I was so sad to hear my favourite restaurant in Manchester has now closed. We went for a farewell meal last week and it was as good as ever, although prices have shot up over the years, it must be said. I understand this will reflect rising prices generally. We were told that they are looking for another site in Manchester. Please come back soon Cote, I’ll miss you!

Have been to Cote several times and always really enjoyed it. The food this time was disgusting and inedible. Shell in the crab maison. Congealed souffle. Dried up potato gratin. The fish stew was mainly potatoes in a tomato sauce. Would definitely not return.

We love it here and this will be our last visit as they close on the 04/02 We spoiled ourselves with Cote De Beof and it didn’t disappoint The only thing we were disappointed with was the server, she was so disengaged, it was sad, I even passed her on the stairs going to the toilet and let her go first as she was carrying ice, not Thank you, appalling really. I do hope they stay in Manchester at new premises and don’t employ the woman with an oversized sweat and ponytail

Excellent service and food. Visited for my birthday whilst on a 2 day break to Manchester. Our two waitresses were Catrin (so nice to speak our native Welsh language in Manchester), diolch Catrin. Also a wonderful waitress was Jasmine. I was so sad to learn that you will be closing in February. I hope all the staff find alternative work soon. Fingers crossed you will re-open somewhere else soon 🤞🤞

Centrally located just to the side of the House of Fraser store so no problems getting there. Nice venue and staff were friendly enough also. Menu is more than adequate and a decent wine list attached too. This is decent fayre without being over the top in style, presentation or price so it’s good for a quick Hit or a lazier longer stay.

Food tasted good, but nothing special, 3,5 of 5 in my opinion. Staff friendly and polite. In my opinion there’s nothing French apart of food and wine( bottle with screw not with cork, killed the mood in my opinion). On the good side, restaurant it’s not very expensive. So worth it to try, but personally I would not coming back. Reason why - wine bottle with screw, not with cork( personal opinion)

Another visit to Côte, and another excellent meal. Very sorry to hear that it is closing down at the beginning of February, Best wishes to all the deposed staff, hoping you find something good soon.

Just returned from another great evening at Cote. Although clearly short staffed the service was still great. Special mention to Cameron. Steaks great as usual and enjoyed the new sides. Will be back very soon.

Went with a large group for a works do for early bird dinner. Fixed menu but enough choice for everyone. Service excellent

There were a couple of problems with our starter . Then Lucienne came over as our server. High praise to her. Know she didn’t do the cooking but the rest of the meal was very good . She took her time with us even though the restaurant was getting busy. 5/5 to Lucienne

Starters - brilliant, was looking forward to main after these… We ordered a chateaubriand- medium with 2 extra sides. When it came out, the sides were wrong… they sorted this, and then we asked where the veg was, they’d forgotten it so went and dished that up too. The steak was cooked rare, not medium as requested. When the bill came, I put the money on the tray and the lady said ‘NO CASH’ - I said well that’s all I’ve got, so take it or leave it. They took it….. Wouldn’t return I’m afraid

We had been in Cote Brasserie before in Oxford and were slightly disappointed. Not to worry in Manchester. Great setting, service and atmosphere and excellent food. Having had the French onion soup and steak tartare as starters, the pork belly and beef bourguignon as mains and tarte tatin as dessert we went home extremely happy. Worth returning.

First time I've eaten here, quite surprised. Served promptly, but not hurried. All staff efficient and pleasant too. Food, from Prix Fixe menu was delicious, tasty and well-cooked, though portion size might be smaller than on main menu. Nothing disappointed me, and for once the added 10% service charge was fair - just what I would have offered. Hope to be back, and pleased again.

The food, as usual, was excellent but on this occasion I’m sorry to say that the service was a little lacking regarding the orders made. Missing starter, wrong size bottle which (what the hell) I kept. Then a normal coffee served instead of the decaf ordered which my wife only realised after being awake most of the night. Also charged for the small bottle originally ordered (never received) as well as the larger incorrect one. At £120 for the meal, I’d expect better. First time I’ve been disappointed here, especially as it was a Birthday celebration. Come on Côte, get your **** together.

Déception totale, à ne pas faire !!! Avant la réservation nous avions lu les commentaires qui nous semblaient bons mais la déception fut totale ! Le tiers de la carte n était pas disponible et ensuite nous avons dîné en deux services. Un plat de la commande a été oublié et servi 30 minutes après. Lamentable ! Les plats n’avaient pas de goût ni de saveur ! Le plat de moule était à moitié vide et les frites sont identiques a celles du McDo En bref je vous déconseille ce restaurant !

It's always a pleasure to come here, very good range of French cuisine at reasonable prices and the house wine is excellent value. The staff looked after us expertly and put up with my elderly father's quirks very well (no offence caused, I hope) See you there soon

We pre- booked a table for four as part of a visit to Manchester to attend the nearby gin and rum festival. This is one of our go to restaurants when we are in Town and yet again we had a really enjoyable meal. I opted for French onion soup and confit duck ( my favourite) with a side of truffle mash for my my main course. Both dishes were really tasty. Others in the party had a variety of food ranging from steak to chicken in a cream sauce and fish. We all shared profiteroles. The men had large bottles of Kronenberg and our wife's shared a bottle of wine. Alex was our waiter and he was very professional in his job, in fact its one thing that stands out at Cote, the staff are very efficient and that is obviously a reflection on good management. I always enjoy my food at Cote and this visit was no exception, so thank you to the chefs.

We visited Cote in Deansgate last weekend and can confirm the food was really tasty and the environment was beautiful as always. The only negative point that I feel I have to highlight would be regarding the service of we received from our waitress. She wasn’t very friendly and didn’t appear to want to be there (she may have had a long day, however, we were really polite and felt the responses we received were unneeded), on top of this the service we received was quite slow and it took a while for the food to arrive. However, I will add that the service we received from the other waiting staff was positive.

Situated close to The Lowry over the Trinity Bridge, this restaurant was very convenient for us. We enjoyed French Onion Soup and delicious Beef Bourguignon with mushrooms, bacon lardons and potato purée, which were accompanied by a 2021 Chablis. The service was good.

Dining solo on a weekday after work - I think the service was very good and the waitresses who saw to me were very attentive. They knew the menu well, could recommend wines with dishes and it was overall good service. The restaurant wasn’t very busy in the weekday so it was nice and quiet - and the ambience, including lighting and music, was enjoyable. The starter was nice; I ordered a French onion soup which was pleasant. However, the main itself was underwhelming and not well executed. I ordered the lamb as my main - it was served with ratatouille which was over seasoned and salty, but the real disappointing factor came with the overall preparation of the meat. I ordered the lamb medium rare, but it was definitely rarer to my liking. Not a deal breaker, however, the piece of lamb I was served was unfortunately very, very fatty, and while I would typically enjoy a rich piece of meat, the ratio of fat to meat was not enjoyable and where there was meat in between the fat, it was tough and not a good texture. Overall, it’s an okay dinner experience (especially if you’re hungry and want to sit in a nice space), but not somewhere I’d eagerly recommend for a meal to someone else. (Other dishes might be better, but, certainly not for the dishes I had).

The actual meal was excellent my husband had the fillet and I had the sirloin cooked to perfection However our waiter I felt was so unprofessional he took our order but was looking all around the room and appearing not to listen. I Noticed another couple rolling their eyes at this waiter as he dropped water on the gentleman from the wine bucket. No manners what so ever for a lovely environment

My boyfriend and I visited Cote and had the three course set menu. Every single thing about it was perfect! Our waiter was lovely, the atmosphere was fantastic and the food was incredible. Every single course was served promptly (but not too promptly) and tasted unbelievable. Considering the set menu is only £18 for three courses, this has to be the best all round dining experience I’ve had since moving to Manchester. I had the calamari, croque monsieur and blueberry clafouti (a personal highlight). We cannot recommend Cote strongly enough and will be back as soon as we can!!!

In these times of fluctuation and turmoil its lovely to have cote as your fall back restaurant. Always great service,always good value for money and always lovely food.We went today as a family of 4 after my sons graduation and as if by magic (my wife had cunningly told them) they realised it was a special day and glasses of complimentary fizz arrived.The set lunch time meal delivered beautifully (although the veggie options are a bit restrictive but that's my youngest bed and hes got to sleep in it)...overall it was a lovely meal and a great day.Well done to our lovely waitress (I think her name was indra ,if any team points or bonuses are in the offing)Cheers and see you when the younger veggie one graduates and fingers crossed you will have more choice for his kind by then x
