Cote Brasserie in Wycombe

Experienced most of Marlow’s delights by now, so decided to head somewhere different for my 40th birthday. Early impressions were good but quite quickly things took a turn for the worst. 1.5 hours in, with only the starters served up, I asked one of the waiters for an update on our food. Expecting a coherent answer I was instead met with aggression and confrontation, with the individual in question arguing with me on how long we’d been made to wait - please don’t argue, it was 20:25 and we got there at 19:00. Horrendous service but in the restaurant’s defence we did receive an apology (presumably from the Manager) and the service charge waivered - just as well as we weren’t paying it. The Cote need to get a grip of their staff as it only takes one idiot to damage a company’s reputation. Even more disappointing as the food was actually very good, An evening soured by one individual and I shan’t be going back.

Beautiful restaurant, very good customer service, Vasco was really attentive and polite, he had very helpful suggestions and the food was really good, I would highly recommend.

Great restaurant and service, but some of the worst brickwork ever , needs rendering if only to keep the good bricklayer’s happy and to make it look better

Had a really nice family birthday meal last night. Food was excellent, service was good. The restaurant manager really looked after us and made the evening very special. Thank you.

Disinterested staff - had to go to the bar to ask for service - this was 5pm on a Sat eve. Mediocre menu. Food has really gone down hill. Very bland. £150 for 3 of us - will not be back.

We asked for medium steak and it was well done instead. The salad that came with the steak was not really a salad beacuse it consisted only of parsley and onion, no lettuce no tomato nothing. Also ratatouille they served was not a real ratatouille beacuse what they served consisted of baked beans in tomato sauce with few slices of courgette on top. It seems like they are really are trying to save money what makes the eating experience horrible. Be careful what you order there.

Booked a table for an 8pm dinner mid-week. On arrival nothing was checked and we were just offered a table. Our waiter was pleasant enough but not wholly engaged. Ordered a main course to be told he'd forgotten to mention it wasn't available. Also ordered 2 glasses of champagne. We had to ask for the champagne twice and it was finally served as we were almost half-way through our main course. Not ideal given this was the only drink we had ordered. The main courses (fish stew and fish parmentier) were, it has to be said, mediocre. The main piece of fish in the fish stew was mostly skin; the fish pie was fairly modest for a main course portion and quite dry. Although it says on Cote's website food is cooked to order, I'm not convinced this was the case with the fish pie and both main courses arrived far too quickly for this to be the case. Staff seemed more interested in chatting to each other and were not particularly engaged. We had to chase for our bill as staff cleared the tables around us of tealights as they were clearly keen to finish for the evening. As we left staff were at the back of the restaurant chatting - no one showing any interest in the customers that were left. I've always had good service and food when booking at Cote but recently standards seem to have slipped - and not just at this restaurant. Overall hugely disappointed and won't be returning in a hurry. Sorry Cote!

I had Sunday lunch with my wife at this restaurant in Marlow, after an enjoyable morning browsing through the shops and the park in this lovely town. The Cote restaurant looks attractive with a relaxing environment. Starters were lovely but I found a tall blonde hair (not mine I am bald and my head is shaven) on top of the main course - Beef Bourgogne. I commented about this to the server who immediately offered to take it back to the kitchen and replace the dish. I think there are two ways to look at this situation: the first is the positive outlook - everyone makes mistakes, it’s just a hair, it could happen everywhere. The second way of looking at it is to think that this indicates that the kitchen staff do not wear caps or hair nets, and possibly there may be other kitchen failings. Do the kitchen staff wash their hands, do they observe sanitary procedures? Would the server take the dish into the kitchen and return the same dish a few minutes later? I can never have answers to these questions so we skipped desert and coffee, paid the bill and left.

I ordered the salmon in bernaise sauce from new menu . How simple to get right I ask? Alas bernaise sauce was nothing more than cream ( no bernaise 🤣) joking no tarragon. Salmon was tiny , chips too. I ordered a side nearly £6.00 creamed spinach , no cream or nutmeg and spinach still uncooked . All for £24.00.

Lovely seating area - not too cramped. Friendly attentive staff who provided good service. Comprehensive options for dinner, all served quickly and with a smile.

Not sure why we have never been to Cote in Marlow as we have eaten in most restaurants in Marlow. I was surprised by how big the restaurant was. Great atmosphere and lovely decor! The service was great despite it being a very busy Friday night. The food was top notch - beautifully light but tasty cheese soufflé and a fillet steak which was melt in your mouth tender for me. Would very much recommend!

Really enjoyed my visit to Cote recently! Food was incredible, the diots special is definitely worth a try! Sophie our server was really attentive and spot on with service; made good light of my Dad throwing a glass of red over the table! Would definitely come back soon

I was absolutely appalled at the way myself and my children were spoken to by a waiter called Hermando. We had waited over 30 minutes for a starter, a side and 2 children’s meals. The table beside us had ordered their food 25 minutes after us and received it within 5 minutes of ordered. When I asked the waiter to chase our order as my two young children were very hungry and had been pleading with me for their lunch whilst they were waiting. When I explained I was disappointed our food had not arrived when the table next to us had received their food so promptly and my children were very hungry, Hermando had the audacity to walk off and tell me ‘they look fine to me’. Disgusting behaviour and he should be ashamed of himself for speaking about a 7 and 4 year old this way. The manager at the time was apologetic and informed me this was not the first time Hermando had been rude to a customer. The manager was kind and offered compensation for this treatment. Hermando ruined an afternoon with my children. I will never be returning.

I went to Cote in Marlow on a Sunday, and it wasn't too busy at all. The food was good and I enjoyed my Tartiflette and the staff were nice and helpful. It had a calm atmosphere, and the food and drinks came quickly and were good quality.

Revisited again for my birthday and still just as good. Busier this time but still excellent food and service. Will definitely go back in the summer as they have a beautiful garden.

We are usual visitors of this branch of Cote and we have been bringing our two children here for the last ten years. We went for breakfast today and didn’t get served for 20 minutes nobody asked us if we need to order or gave us any menus. We ordered food which took a lot longer than usual. We noticed it just didn’t seem hot or as fresh as it used to. The hollandaise sauce seemed thick and lumpy and the portions were so small. We never have had to order toast and when we asked for some more we got the tiniest two slices in the world. All in all it was not our usual experience and after today we don’t feel like going back. Proceed with caution. All in all great place and nice ambiance and team but just feel like in most places these days the service is starting to drop and the quality of the food just isn’t there anymore.

Very nice meal. We were well looked after by Jacob Very charming young man , a credit to you company The food was good , but when it came to a dessert there was a slight issue. We ordered a cafe gourmand and it stated it came with a coffee So we ordered a coffee which had alcohol in the coffee . But Jacob said we can’t have this a this coffee was not included in this offer, but on the menu, it did not state this, and it was embarrassing to say the least. Jacob explained everything to us because there was a spirit in the coffee, but it did not say this anywhere on the menu, and to give credit to Jacob. He came and gave us a coffee with the spirit in it, which I think was a very kind gesture, but in future, you should put this in the menu that this coffee is not included in the desert with you including coffee and just to save embarrassment in the future, but once again well done Jacob will be back maybe?

Came as a group of 8 for Christmas party. We pre ordered and didn’t have to have the set menu so it catered for all. All of the food was delicious.

I come here very often for food with my small family. I think this restaurant sets the bar all other chains should follow. Really good quality ingredients, always well cooked and reasonably priced in a nice environment with attentive service.
