Costa (Tesco) in Kettering

I had a bad experience at this costa today, I was in line and the people in front of me allowed me to go in front of them as I had cold food and they all were waiting for their hot food. When I was served (by the manger I assume) she was very condescending and tried to explain to me how a que worked (sarcastically of course) and then when I later purchased a panini she undercooked it by 3 minutes (as a costa worker myself I am aware of how long they go under for) I then return the panini without a refund and left. Just because she was older than me doesn’t mean she should have spoke down to me, I hope her service improves so she can be an example to her staff, and not an example of bad customer service

If I could give 0 stars I would, tables left with old trays, staff are not interested with helping, I asked for a refund for watermelon because it was burning my tongue and making me feel ill and was very warm, but the staff said they don't have to give me a refund but would thus time. They were rude.

Larger Costa Coffee with a drive thru. Good tasting coffee and average pastry and sandwich options. Sadly, this location seems to have staffing problems as service can be slow, pastry case is often near empty with few choices. The atmosphere is pretty good with soft music playing and plenty of seating.

Coffee is really good(cappuccino).Staff work hard under pressure and are efficient and friendly. The breakfast deal is reasonable, and I really enjoy the bacon bap. Whilst most competitors have increased their prices, Costa seems very competitive with theirs. As a chain I think they take a lot of beating. Well done Costa.

A bit like staying in a premier inn, you know exactly what you’re getting for your money, if you’ve been to one, you might as well have been to them all. The only difference between them all is the staff, this recent visit the staff were friendly, the tables were clean my Latte tasted like it should, nothing exceeds expectations but then how could it really?

Slow service jn the drive through. 28 minutes from ordering. What is the issue. Coffee takes 28 seconds too grind if barista making it correctly

Ordered a Hot Chocolate from here and it was disgusting, ridiculously sweet, couldn't drink it, gross.

Poor service I can understand on the 1st weekend but this week I had a coffee that was just brown water no flavour and nobody else was there. Clearly need more training, I won't be going back there again. Update- Things have gotten better there now and its more like a normal costa at last 👍

It's a nice place to go for a having a really good drink & also a bit you might fancy to have as a bite to eat. It's amazing how you can either go in & order or go through the Drive-Thru too but all I can say is that it's your choice + if you have a Costa Coffee Card you can build up points to get free drinks

Awesome salted caramel and cream frostini, it's a drink to die for, drink of the gods.

Firstly, this is not a reflection of the Costa Coffee within the Tesco store. This is purely a rating about the new drive through Costa on Carina Park. The three times I have been there I have had to wait for in excess of 20 minutes just to be served. There is a distinct lack of staff and that is the real problem. Three more barista's would make this Costa run much more efficiently but until that happens I will be taking my custom elsewhere.

The coffee is fine, just a bit noisy to sit in with the hustle and bustle of the shoppers coming and going.

Always good and the new drive through is excellent

As a treat spent five pounds on two coffees. Utterly undrinkable, like mud, never returning to drivethru

Usual standard of Costa coffee and food. Staff were helpful and service fast despite being busy. A couple of tables had not been cleared. Free O2 Wifi and newspapers to read. Toilets including disabled toilets. Not great for working on laptops, not enough larger tables.

Always love Costa no matter where it is. This one is particularly good. Great staff.. friendly and helpful.

Another Costa but this one is spacious particularly staff side of the counter and also has a drive through which also has it's own coffee machine, so it should offer quick service. We have been a few times and that is the one thing they need to improve on, speed of service. There is always a queue which moves slowly. A shame as the layout, etc. Is lovely, its clean and the staff are friendly, I think they just need a few more.

I was served by a very lovely person called Hannah who was very attentive and friendly who did not keep me waiting. A credit to Costa I should say, so thank you to her.

an interesting addition to Kettering, yet another coffee shop. surprised this had been granted permission seeing as there was already a Costa Coffee not 1 minutes drive away in Tesco but here we are.

Stood waiting to be served, got ignored as staff member went off to a customer who had just pushed into front of line. So left will not be returning again. Maybe staff need to be paying more attention to those customers stood in front if them. 😡

one of the members of staff had a face like thunder and didn’t actually make my drink right. didn’t add sauce to me frostino around the cup and had to ask for sauce in the top and when she did do it, there was a tiny amount. would much rather go to the normal costa i go to☹️

Staff hand over drinks which have been spilt all over the lid and then dont have napkins readily available to clean up

Used once never again price of coffee you can almost buy a light lunch for the price way way overpriced

Like most Costa's but this one is worse because it's a drive through.. nice enough staff but not enough and poorly managed.. long waiting times, big queues and not clean .. not ideal when the coffee is so expensive.. kills the whole idea of going for a nice cup of relaxing coffee

Tables not cleared on entering and after queing , being served and drinking coffee no one has bothered to clear any tables . No one seems bothered about appearance and customee ecperiance. Worst Costa I have ever been in.

New unit on Kettering Business Park.now open with the usual costa fair this store is set out with powerpoint and USB outlets at most of the outer edge tables disabled access toilets are available to the rear of the store with a outside seating and table area at the front door. with drive thru for passing motorist off the A509/A14 to kettering town center. surprisingly not a really busy café due to another Costa only across the way in tesco tho on some days staff say that it can be very busy only one mobility parking bay outside the store

The latest Costa to appear but very nice decor inside. Still think toilets are dodgy with everyone seeing you come and go from the toilet because there's only 1 door separating it from the main part...

Friendly staff, not too busy, usual Costa prices. Not bad and would go again.

I do like a Costa, and the new one in Kettering is bright modern and in a good location. The staff are warm and friendly and it's a very relaxed place to escape the shopping and to get 5 minutes peace. Would recommend although can get busy and have to wait sometimes.

No hot water in toilets! WC flush handle very loose! Toilet rolls were not in the dispenser!

This has to be the slowest Costa I know; no acknowledgement, no apology for the length of time I’ve waited and no one seems to know what they’re doing and I’ve visited this place 20 plus times and walked out 15 of those times due to waiting up to and over half an hour.. (You May ask why do I keep going back? I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and maybe one day I’ll be served within 5 mins?!) Come on Costa get a grip and get people who can work in a fast paced cafe, you have two others shops in Kettering and they’re very fast. Shame as I’m now having to use Starbucks which I don’t like but at least they’re fast.

Went for first time Sunday 28/10 drive thru closed due to staff not turned up, queue inside took ages then they lost our order so not impressed. Gave them second chance this week 4/11, drive thru open BUT took forever to get thru, hot chocolate was cold so they redid, second one no better...never going back.

Really poor service Waited for 30mins to be served then another 30mins to receive our drinks... admittedly it was busy’ but slow clueless staff definitely didn’t help.......

Expected a lovely calming experience, but was not given that experience. Upon arrival there was a relatively long que but that didn’t bother us, after waiting for a little while we were greeted by a very very rude barista who was yelling at her staff (including a young trainee barista) after telling her my order she swiftly turned her back to me and began making the drinks, before slamming the drinks down on my tray and huffing off. I understand if people have bad days but there is no excuse to take out your frustration out on your staff and paying customers! I would hope that costa sort this issue out promptly

I have been to the sit in Costa three times and found the staff helpful and anxious to please. You always get teething problems when a new Costa opens. Part of the problem will be developing the skills to cope with the huge numbers of people at 'set' times and sometimes the lack of investment by Costa in training their staff for long enough! These are young people who are doing their best to make a good customer experience!

Great Costa, popped in to work and grab a coffee. Great service and given complimentary shortbread. Lots of people complaining about the service but I experienced a smooth operation 👍

Visited today at around 12oc...while accepting it's only recently opened, the service was appalling.It was very quiet when we entered with only 2 other people in front of us yet it took nearly 20 minutes before our drinks were ready, there was one girl taking orders who then stood watching the other girl painfully trying to make the drinks. Surely the staff have been trained ....it was actually embarrassing watching how slow she was, when we finally got the drinks, a latte & a vanilla latte, the vanilla one was undrinkable, there was probably 3 or 4 times as much vanilla as there should have been. We saw another couple who came in after us wait over 20 minutes as well for just a couple of drinks. There was no apology & absolutely no urgency....needs sorting quickly !!

Nice low prices because it's a concession, vegan options and helpful staff, who always offer to carry my tray when I have the pushchair with me. Not 5 star because sometimes the tables aren't cleared as quickly as perhaps they should, but overall I'm happy, and I frequent about once a week.

The girl who was serving at Tesco Esso on Windmill Avenue need a check up; such a bad attitude! No customers service skills and dirty old tattoos 😄

We entered Costa and the girl on the front was very degrading towards us. Her supervisor attempted to calm her down but had little luck. We got our coffees and enjoyed them still however.

Costa used to be good Lately the expresso looks like a cup of weak tee. Today around 6pm a very unprofessional lady here gave me a strange beverage she called an expresso. I returned the thing and she tried to pour another one. Waste of time! Exactly the same. When I returned it , no apologies, no refund, just “I can’t do better “ Costa? Never again!!!!

Poor service. Staff never greet you, they tend serve without making eye contact or speaking. They never smile or appear happy in their work. When asked for extra milk for a large coffee it was given begrudgingly and the very small jug was only half filled. Disappointing as we enjoy Costa Coffee.

Love Costa coffee so the fact that I can run in, get one (usually whilst picking up items at Tesco I forgot from the weekly shop) is good as my monthly treat to myself. They always have lovely cakes to tempt me, looking at me while I'm placing my order lol :-) The only thing negative thing I can say is with seating space, as it doesn't take long for all seats to be taken so shoppers usually do have to jostle for space.

Massive cups ,few cakes,not a large seating area but looks nice.Lot of laptop users with a never ending coffee sitting it out so shopper jog for seats

The staff are lovely but there are not enough of them. Tables always need clearing, the queue is always long and the toilet was disgusting! Sort it Costa or we will all go elsewhere!

Its ok if you are lucky enough to get a seat and a clean table, needs to employ more staff especially at a weekend , far too busy . ideal location either to go before shopping or after, or whilst you are having your car cleaned.

Nice clean place, where if you are very lucky you can sit and have a coffee and food, while your other half does the shopping.

without doubt the worst coffee shop in kettering, probably because its the busiest. the staff seem stressed and there are always dirty cups on the tables which you have to clear away yourself. We went in the afternoon and had carrot cake and it was very dry and had to queue over 5 mins for our order to be taken. I would not go here again or recommend, there are so many other places to chose from.
