Werringtons Fish & Chips // Mmmm Sandwiches & Salads in Kettering

Been coming here for years and been really happy with the food and service. I am sorry to say I won’t be back. Very poor service and the food wasn’t as good as it used to be, dry fish mainly batter small portion of chips & curry sauce. Wasted £11.60. Never again

Please explain what "Pin" means when a meal is delivered? has not happened before. meal goes cold while trying to understand what it means.

attempted to order myself was told time for me to COLLECT I'm HOUSEBOUND and that is impossible for me. So I phone my son and relayed my order to him, 1Large Cod and 2pineapple fritters, which he ordered and paid for. I have just received "2 pineapple fritters" NO. COD. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM WEARINGTONS AGAIN!!!

Have used Werringtons many times and never had an issue but tonight fish overcooked and chips left to keep warm and very very dry. May try somewhere else next time.

Excellent food and excellent service. Easily the best fish and chips around. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. Been there a number of times now and always bang on!

My fish and chips was cold also the fish was burnt round the edges

They accepted the order and 45 mins after I ordered and was waiting for its imminent delivery, they cancelled it. No other fish and chip shops were open at that time, so I was forced to order something else. If you weren’t going to deliver it, you shouldnt have accepted the order and certainly not waited 45 mins after placing it to cancel!!!!!

Usually the food is ok but the chips were definitely re heated and tasted greasy and the mushrooms were very greasy too

The dish was delicious but a kind of plate or box for the fish would have been fine.

Much much better than what I remember from a few years back . Great fish , chips ok but not quite as good as what I usually get, a little on the dry side . Overall great food .

One item was wrong. The kids sausage meal arrived as chicken nuggets. Given the time of night and the fact I had to feed my son we have eaten what was delivered, will think twice before ordering from here again. What we have had tasted nice, just not what my son wanted for his dinner.

The food was brilliant as usual, but they did give me the wrong drink. I asked for a lilt and received a tango even though it was written "Lilt" on the bag lol

Was a very small portion this time, still tasty but was left feeling slightly disappointed. It’s the first time this has happened so hopefully a one off.

I clicked collection instead of delivery, I rang and they was so kind to deliver.

Gotta be honest, it’s been a great chippy, but the last 20 times has been patchy, erring towards not great. Occasionally you’ll get excellent chips and fresh fish, but too many times lately, i’ve stopped eating halfway through, due to 1. black bits 2. reheats/manky chips or 3. unpleasant fish. today the chips, as soon as i opened them, had lots of black bits, were definitely old manky reheats snd the fish was small and had some black/ with bones areas and not a lot of flavour. Driver dropped delivery at wrong address.

the fish was overcooked to be inedible. I was only refunded for one piece when it should have been 2. I paid £18 for fish which we could not eat. I have a picture if you wish to see it. please refund me the outstanding £9 thank you

Chips were as if they recooked existing. Dip was missing from order. Fried Chicken was dry. Was very disappointed as usually good.

Originally said 5.30 to 5.40 but ended up being moved back to 6.10. It was cold when it arrived

Fish was very grey on the underside and the batter was mega hard, as if the fish had been there a very long time or reheated

We’re visiting Kettering for the month for the Lighthouse Pantomime — we came today (08/12/23) after a weeks rehearsals. One of us had fish and chips, one of us had sausage and chips and I had a veggie burger. All of us were blown away by the quality (including two of us who are both from seaside towns and are used to proper fish and chips). The portions were great too. We’re stuffed! But more than that, the staff were absolutely lovely. Very friendly. We will DEFINITELY be back before the year is out, thank you so much.

Original delivery time was 19.30-19.50 food arrived at 20.21 which was disappointing but food was nice.

Based on how soon my order arrived, it explains why my order was missing an item, and I paid for large chips and received two scoops to feed a family of five. I have had to go without a meal and feed my family because of these issues.

We pre ordered for 5pm and it didn't get delivered until 20 past. the tracking time kept changing to a later time adding 5 or so minutes each time.

Took nearly an hour and 2 of the 4 fish were of poor quality with some black areas in the ‘white’ meat.

Order food, way 2 hours and then cook it yourself, it was colder than my heart after waiting for this long. At least the delivery driver apologised on their behalf.

We were told that the driver was at the shop to collect the order and the status remained that way for at least 20 minutes. I called the shop and was told that the driver had just arrived!? The food, which had obviously been sitting there for ages, was delivered about 15 minutes later. Not the best I've had from Werringtons but, to be fair, it's normally pretty good.

Just eat took over an hour to allocate us a driver; meanwhile our food had already been made and had therefore been sat for 90 minutes and arrived stone cold

A place to AVOID !!! Worst kebab I've had in a while. Mixed kebab donor.....tasted better chicken.....dried up and hard. Chips ok

Ordered food at 18.33 tonight, firstly food was lukewarm, fish was probably the worst I’ve had in that it was very chewy and not much taste, sadly my daughter who absolutely loves her fish also found it chewy and couldn’t eat it. A very disappointing choice of take-out tonight.
