Costa @ Next in Gwynedd

Disgraceful attitude from staff. Extremely rude and offensive. Tables cluttered and not cleared of dirty crockery. Will not visit again.

Absolutely disgusting. Dark haired young girl very rude and don’t care attitude. Look at my gingerbread latte!! 3/4 full!!! When I asked her to top it up she said, I can’t really as I’d have to pour it all and start all over!! Very cocky attitude, no smile and definately NO people skills. I told her it was ok, drank my cold latte and walked out. She needs training BIG time.

Been to the cafe several times after work over the last year just for it to be closed early. Can’t rely on the place to be open and no explanation as to why they shut early, so will be avoiding.

The place was filthy, customers queueing for what seems like forever to be served and the manager is going round shouting at her staff and banging things in a temper. So unprofessional. She clearly needs anger management classes. I walked out and went to the high street costa instead. Worth the distance, trust me. I had a great experience in that one.

i was here with my 5 year old daughter and mum, we popped in after doing some shopping and the first thing i noticed was how messy all the tables where, and yet there was 3 people all chatting behind the till, i got served by the mananger ( i only know her a s the manager as she informed me once i made a complaint) she took my order in a very snappy way then the other girl made my drinks all the time max was talking away to the girl who was making our drinks and swearing!. so i said please be careful my duaghter is here and we can hear you, max then went on to give me stern words and said this is my store and my staff and behind this till we can say what we want! witht hat i just walked out and rang headoffice to make a comalpint we never went back in for our drinks or refund i was so upset and angry at this. for a manager she needs to learn customer service.

We had a coffee and a roll. HUGE cups you struggled to lift. My coffee was a little cloudy after putting the milk in but by the time I waited to and able to mention it at the till it had cleared up but not much interest and some disbelief in what I was saying anyway. My wife had her coffee put in a takeout cup cos she couldn’t lift , again the staff hardly interested and seemed pur out at doing it, everything seemed all to much trouble for the girls behind the counter. The sausage bap was nice though.

Visited at 11.50am on a Monday morning, absolutely no food available, lack of drinks available and terrible service.

This cafe refused to sell a cake to my daughter of 7 year old and then refused to give her a toilet key as they say it had closed strange that it had closed before 19.30 one of the waitress tried to help but was told in no uncertain terms that the cafe had closed leaving my 7 year old crying thanks for the customer service

Very disappointed with costa and the staff today! Here with a 5 year boy ( a promise of a hot chocolate after a hospital appointment). We found a tabe, and my little boy sat at it quietly playing in his i-pad while I was waiting in line to be served! He was asked to move- so another person could sit at the table with his food!!!! Other people came in and sat at tables while their partners waited in line (while we were there)to be served - but we were singled out and told not to!!! Thankfully some kind people felt sorry for us and waited until we eventually got served and gave us their table!!!! I was obviously flustered and the only person with a small child. Staff made an issue out if nothing- moving a child from a table!!! I wouldn’t have a problem if they were consistent- today they were not!!!!!

Stopped here for tea and cake from Bangor hospital very safe,nice and clean,staff are helpful,cakes were beautiful and fresh

Having a work meeting whilst having breakfast, never been a problem at any other Costa, have done many times before. Approached by owner, told a customer had complained, asked how long call would be - call was on speaker but no louder than a normal conversation. Felt so uncomfortable I left without finishing food - asked owner if she would ask customers to leave if having a loud conversation, she then told me to stop shouting at her (I absolutely was not shouting, I would never do that as I don't disrespect regardless of how I'm treated) and she was just the messenger (no, you're the owner and I'm also a customer). Sat in car almost in tears. Suspect more to do with not being Welsh than anything else.

Service with a smile! Lovely staff, very welcoming and great service. Now my favourite Costa to visit!

Me and my friend had visited the Caernarfon Road Costa in Next while shopping some Christmas gifts... what a way to start the winter day with a hot cappuccino and a Christmas turkey sandwich..will definitely come back there again...

Must put this on here. Costa this morning was “shining” the staff very welcoming & the toast & Cappos, excellent. This Costa has been a little “hit & miss” but not this morning, thank you. All good despite the fire alarm test. 👍

The Costa coffee is always very welcome especially when you are shopping. This outlet is very handily places.

A nice cafe over looking the main road. It is just like any other costa. i must say though their coffee is spectacular along with there hot chocolate.

Went here yesterday for a quick coffee and a cheese and ham panini...as usual with Costa nice coffee and good value food but as with so many Costa coffee shops the tables and floor were a mess, half the tables were empty but covered with dirty plates and mess on the floor, is it that hard for the management to train the staff to keep the areas tidy and clear tables. There seemed to have enough staff working.

This morning by arrangement, I met up with two old friends who are also former colleagues, one of whom I hadn't seen for about 8 years and the other for over 25 years!It was great to see them both and we spent a few hours at this Costa reminiscing and relating stories.There were ample parking spaces, the staff were friendly and helpful and no one complained that we commandeered the table for so long solely drinking a few coffees without ordering any food, despite the cakes looking very tempting.

The man that served me but the assistant manageress Maxine was very arrogant and rude. First off the coffee points machine was offline and so I couldn’t pay for my extensive order with my points. Then when the man went to heat the wrap I had in my order he was shouted at by the manageress. She told me it would contaminate the other foods. I explained that my husband always had his wrap warmed up at many other Costas. She said in a very cross voice that it was against the law. She later came to our table when I asked her her name and said the young girl who was training had been very affected by my complaint even though she had no involvement in the conversation as she was serving someone else. I said are you suggesting that we cannot question anything for fear of upsetting the staff. Would never go there again.

It's a fairly busy little place but benefits from great free and easy parking, good loo, and the window seats give a good view out onto the road to allow for some people watching whilst caffinating, otherwise pretty standard Costa.

Called in for coffee, busy Saturday lunch time. Possibly the dirtiest Costa I’ve been in, floors were covered in waste food, as only one a couple of hours couldn’t all be ‘fresh’ given the direst knife to cut a cake with I’ve ever seen, tray looks like it’s never seen warm clean water. Woeful.

I waited a good 15 minutes to be served. The manager was flapping and running around like a headless chicken. It wasn't even busy. I felt stressed just watching him. No apology for my wait. The trays that they were serving food and coffee on were filthy. The Barister station was very dirty. My soya coffee was made in the same milk jug as cows milk. Very slow. Very disappointing. Shan't be returning in a hurry. Sorry guys!

Visited here plenty of times, mostly to have a Hot Chocolate, and the barista behind the toll is always friendly and very fast service and nothing too much trouble and overlooking a bit of a scenery lovley

Staff were lazy and un interested! The staff needs replacingWhen you pay so much for a service that you wouldnt even get in a corner cafe. I’m shocked!! Will definetly NOT return until they get new staff

Friendly staff and a nice coffee, me and my daughter pop down every now and then for a coffee and a cake, it's usually busy so finding a seat is hard but worth it.

Popped in to the cafe for something quick to eat as myself and my partner were feeling hungry, we both ordered carrot cake and a cup of tea which were lovely. As we were getting ready to leave I went to the toilet, I was horrified! it looks like they haven’t had a good clean in a while! I ended up not using the toilet as the smell was making me heave I could feel the cake I’d eaten coming back up!! Sort it out next!!

Decided to give this place another chance but sadly the coffee had to be sent back. Only a half filled cup of Luke warm wish washy looking liquid. To be fair, a fresh cup was provided without question but this has happened twice. Definitely will never return again

Not massively busy. Tables disgusting. I asked for a cloth as I didn’t want to sit at a dirty table. Assistant said someone would be over. No one came. Other people in the same position. Also toilet dirty. Maybe a short of staff issue they seem to be working hard so not there fault. Poor management I would suggest People clearing there own tables but no clothes to wipe. Not good

Came in for coffee and cake it was lovely and the staff in next Costa are very helpful polite lovely coffee will be back

Served quickly. Polite staff. Coffe & cake where really lovely. I had the Carrot cake-it was divine! My daughter had a Brownie that was equally tasty! Will visit again.

Great cafe with a great range of products. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing is ever too much bother for them. Drink quality is faultless, I've tried almost every drink they do including the cold drinks and I've never been disappointed. Great to people watch or even do a bit of online shopping - I often find next don't do things in the sizes I want or in a short leg so I pop around the shop to browse the clothes and place my orders whilst having a coffee for next day delivery into store.I only have two bits of feedback.... The tables could be cleared a little quicker as customers end up piling trays on top of trays on one table and the seating area ends up feeling a bit messy and PLEASE order some new trays for people to carry their stuff to their tables! They REALLY let you down and are not a great reflection of the rest of the cafe and the fab service you provide. Keep up the great work!

Always busy and a fab place to people watch. It all happens in here, laughter, gossip, children playing, hugs etc its great. The coffee is good and the service is good, sometimes could do with being a bit quicker. All in all a good place to have a nice coffee and catch it

A couple of really nice staff and a nice place to sit - but the management is dreadful. Staff were being discussed today quite openly, tables stacked up with dirty plates and people's orders forgotten. It's been going downhill recently and getting worse all the time. A new manager needed urgently. I asked a couple of questions and got my head bitten off by him. Going to find somewhere else for my coffee.

The only reason why I have not awarded 5 stars is that the cafe/ restaurant is often full and it can be difficult to find a table in what is a first floor corner cafe within a large shop (Next). The tables, however, are cleared regularly of crockery to allow new customers to settle. The restaurant has a 5 star cleanliness rating (Feb 2017).The serving staff are helpful and friendly and any queue of customers at the till is due to the time it takes to make the coffees. The cafe offers the usual range of Costa cakes and snacks.

I've been coming to this Costa since it opened and it's gone rapidly downhill. Though the drinks are always good and the staff themselves are pleasant and helpful, the service is ridiculously slow and the manager is rude, obnoxious, arrogant and condescending towards his staff in front of customers. The previous manager, a blonde girl, was so polite and friendly and the cafe was always packed; now it's quiet whenever I go in and I'm not sure if it's connected to the change in manager. Hearing him complaining about the staff and also being dismissive and rude to customers is very off-putting and unprofessional, as is throwing marshmallows in the direction of your drink rather than ON the drink and then marching off shouting "I need a few minutes to get away from here and sort out my life". Without him in the equation, it's a really nice place with a good location.

Been here several times before but last visit was very disappointing. Ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate. The guy serving placed a tray on the counter which got stuck due to sugary mess on counter which had not been cleaned away. When trying to lift tray it jerked spilling our drinks. When rebuked for non cleanliness he simply replied I'll do it now. Coffee and chocolate were only Luke warm. Won't be coming back to this place again.

Stopped for a coffee and cake with two boys. The wait time was awful with the lead lady telling a customer and friend how most staff were off sick and some were in despite being ill. Just what you want to hear before you eat! Tables were cleared slowly and although it was busy, there was a real sense of chaos! Undoubtedly the staff work hard to cover for absent colleagues but surely Costa need an element of professional service injected here. Coffee was fine, no complaints. The children's cornflake cake at £1.85 tasted like metal! It was either past its best or that was just the standard. I let me 2 year old take two bites and I will never forgive myself. It was disgusting! There was also a swarm of flies attracted to the A/C outlet. That needs attention. To sum up: go for coffee, don't eat there! Staff on service were working hard.

I am quite a regular customer at Costa Next, but I can honestly say that today was the last time I will visit this particular Costa.The service here has gone rapidly down hill! The so called Manager (possibly Joshua if I read his badge right) is the most arrogant, rude ans unprofessional member of staff I have ever come accross; it really is beyond me how he is still allowed to work there. I have heard several people with similar opinions whilst standing in a 10-15 miniute queue upon every visit! To be fair though, most of the staff members there are very nice and it is clear that they are trying but the Manager really does let this place down.During my visit today, I was in a queue of 2 people, it was very quiet... But still it took 15 minutes for me to be served!! The man in front of me only ordered a cooler to take away, it took so long for three members of staff to make it, he just asked for them to give it to him as it was so he could leave!! Once I eventually got served, my order was wrong! As I was going to sit down, the queue now consisted of about 8-10 people whilst 4 staff members just stood about! This Costa really has gone down hill, and is an embarassment to the Costa Coffee chain.The toilets are also disgusting! I have complained several times, and get the same automated response with points on my Costa card every time. I don't want extra points, I want my complaints to be addressed and for the service and attitude to improve!Sort it out Costa, the place is an embarassment to your company!!!

20 mins I had to wait in line for 2 cream coolers! Order was placed and I waited while other people where passing me and getting their orders 1st!? Unorganised staff too much taking amongst themselves very disappointed will never visit this costa again!

Costa coffee is always good. The cafe was clean, staff very friendly. Good location. Excellent. It's lovely to sit by a window as you look out especially if you are your own . Good internet access.

I'm a regular at this Costa. Always a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. I recommend it frequently.

Expensive but as I always say service is so important and the 'barista' serving this afternoon, a young lady behind the counter, mid afternoon on Saturday was really rushed off her feet but so pleasant and smiley. Had to wait too long for two coffees but the baristas couldn't have worked any faster, there just isn't enough room for them. Plenty working there but not enough floor space. We had 1 chocolate slice, one small Americano, 1 small capuchino 1 7UP and it was nearly £8.00. Wow! Thank you for the service. I never tip in these chains but I did at the counter because of this young girl.
