Costa Coffee - Victoria Plaza in Bolton

I’m pleased to say that this Costa was a good place to stop by! After getting my shopping from the Next it is located inside, I decided to have brunch here. There were plenty of options, the staff made sure to ask any necessary questions such as whether I was staying or taking away while being friendly, and I found a clean table in a nice quiet spot. The food tasted as expected, but was enjoyable to eat as the atmosphere was relaxed. Overall, I was very happy with my visit here! I wish I’d seen the sign for the caramel cake though before reaching the till!

This review is for the welcoming hostess , Marcella, who was there Wednesday, Aug. 22 2024. Her attentive presence makes for a pleasant experience. The light is lovely; there are comfortable options for seating that seemed well maintained. The mint tea was delicious and nicely served in a porcelain cup on a saucer. Thank you! NEXT is responsible for the toilets and they're awful/disgusting: no toilet paper, nothing to dry your hands. The first toilet was closed.

Got our order wrong twice an then forgot our food. Staff had enough attitude for the entire population of London. Coffee was bitter

Worst coffee ever . I Remember last time, few years ago, in London, Costa coffee was One of the best . I'm afraid something has changed. I'll try something Better.

Wow. Rude and lazy staff. If you want good coffee with welcoming staff there are several cafes round the corner at the end of Berner Street.

I had worst experience today , two boys working at costa made me feel humiliated, they were laughing continuously at my choice of tea. Made fun of me three times laughing on me continuously at counter. I am tourist here felt really bad , I would never recommend anyone to visit here specially tourist ☹️.

We love costa and we are Regular customer I have bad experience today and last week one lady always kicking customer from the door. She trying to close 6.30..closing time is 8.00 she told us it's clos that time was 6.30 And I was try to buying som bakra stuff she said I'm gonna closing down the freezer rudely and I was shocked 😲 what so costa should take action on it please upgrade customer service bring smile face on customer service 🙏

Rude staff. Asked about using the toilet (as customer) and the counter lady instead of apologizing because it was out of order just barked a monosillable "NO!"

This is a nice branch located upstairs in NEXT overlooking Oxford Street. A good break if your shopping. I was there early evening on a Saturday when it was not too busy. Very nice and peaceful. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Service was good. Reasonably clean. Medium size store with a good range of drinks, pastries, cakes, savoury items and more. I am guessing the branch can be quite full when the store is busy. Probably not somewhere to sit long, but worth a stop if you need a drink or a treat and to have a bit of a shopping break.

Nice place for a quick refreshment break during shopping. Note: The toilets are not multi entry.

Really not happy woth what I experienced today at Costa, it was so busy and water on the floor.so elderly lady fall down very badly because of that. I jumped out of my chair as I thought it was so bad fall and I couldn't help her to get up and it took the Costa worker to come and help. He didn't even checked with the lady of she is OK, I was asking the lady if all OK and her back and legs were OK. He run to wipe the water on one side he left the rest of water on the floor. There was no respect or courtesy, it wasn't ok to see that. They didn't offer her even a water or drink.

Went in to rest the feet while shopping, the young lady that made my hot chocolate was extremely friendly and and always had a smile, she made the drinks quickly while helping and showing a newer team member how to serve the drinks correctly

Good coffee and nice atmosphere

As also costa doesn't disappoint . Mainly due to the breastfeeding friendly policy. Service was great . Only downside was the bathrooms not being allocated meaning male , female and baby changing room all lumped together . Which made for pretty messy toilets and a worrying lack of hand washing. But central London. What can you do ? Maybe increase cleaning intervals.. overall good

Extremely friendly staff and quiet atmosphere. Perfect for me. Oh and my cappuccino was expertly made and was of the quality I've come to expect from Costa

The parista there is super friendly in a pleasant way. She is extremely talented and fast. My order was serviced under 5 minutes

A welcome escape from Oxford Street. Great coffee, comfort seats with power points for laptops and clean toilets.

The blond women and the Indian women are the worst , bad service, rude and they don’t know how to work

The staff in this branch are amazing very polite and helpful cannot fault them at all unfortunately the croissant was old and had to return it hence the three stars

No oat milk today, went for the soya option only to be told, we dont have enough to make your coffee, topped it up with coconut milk. Had already paid as i would have left. Was also served a stale piece of cake, but the cheese cake for my daughter was ok. The lady serving made it sound like,all was my fault for asking for what they didnt have. But the one making the coffe was very oppologetic. Worst costa visited so far.

مكان غير مريح للغاية هو مجرد إستراحة إذا كنت تتسوق ومتعب من المشي في الإكسفور ممكن أن تجده جيد ولكن للأسف تجربتي له هذه المرة كانت سييئة للغاية الحلويات يبدو وكأنها محضرة منذ عدة أيام حتى طعمها كان سيئا للغاية والقهوة السوداء كانت جددداً ثقييييلة وعندما طلبنا من الموظفة تخفيفها لم تستجب بسهولة المكان مزددحم جداً والخدمة غير مرضية والنظافة سيئة حيث لم نجد أحد ينظف ويعقم المكان بعد أن تركه أحدهم وجلسنا به .

Unhygienic toilets which are shared between men and women. Customer service absolutely horrendous , with a polish lady (black hair and glasses) shouting at my mother. But then again why am I surprised Costa cafe’s shops are going down the drain….

Back then in india i was not a Fan of Coffee until i meet Costa ☕. We were on the most busiet Street of UK Oxford Street and this place is very near to Oxford Station. You walk out of the Station and may be 5 mins walk from the Station. It is located on the 1st Floor inside NEXT so you can can do some shopping and then go for a Delicious cup of Coffee. The ambience is nice and clean with lot of space inside and with an Accessible Washroom. Most of the time we will order Mocha followed by Carrot & Walnut cake. It's the Best combination must try. The staff is nice & Humble. One tip use Costa App so whenever you buy you get points for it and can be redeemed.

They have many bakery options to choose from and they are very moist and fresh. Also, their water bottles are 100% recycled plastic!

I just had a very bad testing cafe latte, I think the milk is off.

Brilliant staff. Great customer service. Always say hi and Morning when we go in. Always a great start to the day.

My favourite coffee shop with amazing snacks and coffee. Every time I come here, I buy a package of grounded coffee from the store. I really love mocha with chocolate powder than ever because of Costa, the taste and the smell is perfect for coffee-lovers ❤️

Well it’s a costa coffee so there is not much to say about the coffee itself or other stuff usually sell by Costa, however the place itself is situated inside "Next" shop at Oxford street, it is airy, spacious, and clean. The staff are friendly and polite. Two things I like about this place is being less noisy than other costa shops, and how it is nicely lightened that adds COZINESS especially in the afternoon hours between 5-8. I would definitely recommend this place to have a break whilst shopping or if you are Costa coffee lover.

I love Costa in general but they should stop this franchise. Slow service, give people the wrong drinks and cakes (which held the line of two up for 15 minutes). Refused to add syrup to a hot chocolate for me because it wasn’t on the menu. Killed my Friday vibes, luckily there is another branch nearby who are great! Just behind the M&S ❤️

They served us cold cappuccino. Not very happy

Awful. My dad put in an order not realising they were closing and when we went to sit down, were told we had to leave in a stroppy tone as they were closing. Why sell us stuff then? We said fine, we were just waiting for my dad as he was using the bathroom. They said no, we had to wait outside. I understand they were closing but a) we weren't told, b) they were very rude and inflexible which annoyed everyone. We asked for our money back. While they were processing the refund, another couple walked in and the barista literally shouted at the man that they're closed. He asked if they could just have some water, and with the same stroppy tone, they said no we're closed - they left bewildered. My dad had come out by the time they processed our refund anyway so they could have just let us wait. Worst customer service experience at a coffee shop.

One of the worst Costa experiences yet. The two staff seemed to have been tasked with serving as many people in as little time as possible with zero regard to customer satisfaction. Drinks were being prepared with zero care and 100% haste, slammed together and thrown on plates with spillage. Orders were taken at such speed I'm still not entirely sure what I was asked. Not a friendly, engaging or pleasant ordering experience. Everything else was okay and as expected, clean, bright etc. But the staff need retraining or replacing.

Can be busy at times but they keep up with orders well. Lots of seating area makes it a good place and vibe to work. Coffee and cake are both decent but a bit pricy. Great views from the window (it's on the second floor).

As the cafe is on the first floor of the shopping centre it's much quieter than the average cafeteria with direct access from the street. The furnishing is almost new and there are 3 toilets. Everything is kept clean and tidy by the friendly staff.

Hardly any clean place to sit and they charge extra for ketchup. Probably charge extra for milk as well. There are 3 other Costa in the same area with better service. Avoid this one.

A decent place to have a coffee and a cake a d catch your breath during shopping. It is a quick way of secluding yourself from busy street. Sufficient seating and friendly personnel.

Had to remake my order and made me feel like I hadn't expressed my order properly. "large white hot chocolate with marshmallows please"

There was a queue and when someone did start serving he started from the back of the queue, ham and cheese toastie was cold and he forgot to give me a sachet of tomato ketchup

Good choices, reasonably priced and not rushed

Very poor customer service. Both baristas were talking in their own language in front of a very big queue of customers. I had to wait 15 minutes for my order (a small mango cooler) and the guy ( I can't remember his name but he was a barista maestro) gave me 3/4 cup!!! Very disappointed. It was my first visit in this branch and it will be for sure the last!

Really disappointed, staff friendly. I had tea this visit. It was at end of day. Staff member smashed a glass item. In my opinion was left there to long before clearing it up in fact I started to clear it because it was in the walk way and I was worried it would be stood on. After my tea I went to toilet. Oh my word I have been to cleaner outside toilets, absolutely disgusting.

It's a great place to sit and people watch taking in the sights and sounds of Bolton. Add to that a great cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of toast or a cake. What more do you want

Never had a problem with the service. Again it's another regular coffee shop that I visit and the staff know what your order is. Definitely recommend.

I'm in Bolton a lot at the moment, and Costa is becoming my go-to place for a coffee. There are plenty of tables, which is great if I've got a bit of work to do. The coffee is always gorgeous, which is important to me!

In a good spot for watching the world go buy. Great to sit outside in the spring and summer. Our first call on a Sunday morning.
