Costa Coffee (Sidmouth) in East Devon

Had a very welcome coffee here today, and a lovely conversation with the young woman who served me. Excellent customer service and such a lovely smile. She also has great taste in perfume!

Highly recommend this Costa coffee shop in Sidmouth, the staff definitely make this Costa better than the rest, both the male and female staff are friendly and helpful, thank you.

Lovely Costa in a lovely old building - the old Shop Inn?

It was a hot day So l stayed inside I odered my snack Toasted cheese n Tom sandwich which was enjoyable when l ate it. My latte was perfect even tho l noticed semi skimmed milk was used ( usually have full fat). The best lv had for a long time It was a young girl serving Very polite Apart from one table, other tables were not used Just a small queue when l first walked in at the counter As l sat at my table A young chap was serving soneone The first thing he said was hello and sorry to have kept them waiting Which in alot of other different cafes, you don't hear that. I know that. Especially when you've been Waiting to be served l don't live in Sidmouth Thanks n l gave my compliment to the girl assistant.

The place could do with a make over...needs redecorating badly...worn-out chairs with holes in and that are badly stained and tables tops are that sticky that they are like fly catching papers...

Please decorate the front of the building. It just doesn't look attractive enough to venture in for a coffee. It's very tatty, and let's down Costa and Sidmouth

Very nice vibes and different design compared to other Costa branches

Still as good as usual. been having Salted caramel Lattes for a change. I like something different for a change. But sometimes have a Sandwich with it. The staff are always very friendly and professional.👍👍😁

Looking very run down. The Coffee making area was very untidy. The staff looked like they couldn't be bothered.

Place was untidy, not very clean at all, sat outside to begin with, but the table was that unstable the drinks were spilling everywhere so we had to move inside. Service was very slow. It's disappointing really for a Costa.

Did not go here for a coffee. As we approached,we thought it was shut down,but it was actually open. What a eyesore. Can not belive the sate off the exterior. Just goes to show that Costa dont care about our towns and Cities.

Great Costa with a lovely atmosphere

Utterly miserable exterior makes the street look unkept and tatty. Flaking paint on window frames, doors, signage etc. Uninviting. Visited on a day where all drinks were being served in “disposable cups only”. An unsustainable practice, generating lots of waste.

I am a fan of Costa coffee. I really like Sidmouth one. It is in Old Fore Street, formerly the Old Ship Inn, is one of Sidmouth’s oldest buildings dating back to the 14th century. Very fascinating. Highly recommended.

Best Costa in the country. The staff are always super efficient, very friendly and its a very quaint building.

Love the building as it's been refurbished from an old pub that used to be there. Upstairs seating is also lovely overlooking the small street that goes past. Not many people were sitting in when we went so it was also nicely quiet. Undortunately, there isn't a lot of space for you to stand in queue as the counter is right infront of the door and it can get quite clustered during busy hours. This also makes it a bit awkward when you need to exit as you have to shuffle past. Napkins are not provided for takeaway cups despite some drinks only being served in takeaway cups. Since I ordered a frappe, this is what happened to me and as the staff were busy, we were unable to request any napkins.

Interest old building, coffee good and M&S food. Toilet needed cleaning and maintenance.

It was a Saturday and there was lots of young noisy children running around, but made up for as it's the only Costa that is dog friendly.😊🐾

I ordered a iced latte (very good) me and my friends were playing a game with a football rolling it on the table and one of the staff were pretty rude when asking us to stop

Very good service, quick and efficient. Cakes were very tasty and good size. Coffee was a bit strong, but hot.

Service and coffee were fine. Place is a little drab and table was sticky. Only one toilet available so had to queue to use.

I always enjoy a break in here, nice and cosy.

Visited your Ex108Lp branch in Sidmouth today @ apx 3pm. Purchased large hot choc and coffee. While being served by the lady, the man was wiping his nose with the back of his hand and sniffling, then proceeded to wipe his hand on his trousers. He then started handling equipment without washing his hands. Disgusting. Have a look at your shop footage ! Even without covid, his actions need to be addressed. Won't be using that shop again.

Love coming to this costa coffee outlet and have done so for many years. I would say that on our resent visit they have let themselves down.. From the outside the tables were dirty, litter on the floor ,windows extremely dirty, paint peeling everywhere..the inside a little better but looking very tired... Do hope they take note and turn things around back to a wonderful coffee shop again

Didn't go in because the front of the building looked like it was an empty building...windows were filthy and covered in cobwebs. Worse Costa I have ever seen !

Based in an older building, nice to find the air conditioning working as was a rather hot day. Slightly frayed around the edges.

It's a Costa you know what you are getting; the building originates from the 15th century, the entry and stairs are quite narrow.

On a divine outing in the lovely Sidmouth we got the innate desire for a Costa, prior purchasing our coffees to which they didn't have the one I wanted (although I was still charged for it and promised an Easter bunny Chocolate) we patiently waiting for an incredibly slow time considering it wasn't busy. After not getting the drink I was promised, the cup was split and I got it all over my white shirt. I was coldly told all they could do was offer me another cup. Rudely and abruptly spoken. Poor customer service, fajita was burnt and the drink was wrong. Wouldn't recommend.

Sometimes a coffee can make your day, sadly my visit to Costa Sidmouth was not such an occasion. After giving my friend a drink in a split cup (which was not even holding the beverage he had ordered), she showed a disgusting lack of sympathy, leaving his shirt and innocence scared. Overall, wouldn’t come back in a hurry.

Friendly staff. Good selection but drinks list on wall behind counter very difficult to read as print far too small. Also swing door upstairs continually banging which makes you jump. Not very restful.

Todays service was awful. This will be my families last visit to Costa, especially considering the raft of other coffee shop choices within Sidmouth. Maybe take peoples requirements to intolerance and/or allergens a little more seriously rather than disagreeing with customers!

Dropped by for a flat white. Expertly served by the barista Adam who made a perfect coffee for me. Great place to stop by for a pick Mr or to read the papers.

Amazing, walking along the little back streets of Sidmouth and saw the Costa sign, from outside didn't look too inviting but go through the door and it is like a Dr Who tardis goes for miles inside. The building still retains the old original features of the old pub it used to be with a vertical Wooden beam 600 years old.. Great coffee and pastries too.

Very atmospheric coffee shop. Housed in a building that's at least a couple of centuries old. Extremely good service.

Can't fault. Good selection of food, friendly and quick service. Wrap was cold (which they advised might be the case) so they reheated immediately. Quiet cafe in a great location.

This has to be the friendliest and quaint Costa I have been to, the staff are very friendly and professional the building is an old pub so it makes it a very different experience to the usual modern experience from most Costa shops. This one is definitely worth visiting and sitting upstairs on comfy sofas and armchairs is magnificent
