Costa Coffee - Abbey Centre in Newtownabbey

Myself and another chap stood waiting to be served while the assistant chatted to her colleague , I ordered a tea a coffee and two scones she asked if I wanted them heated to which I declined and was sorry as they were dry and firm , very unappetising, after spilling milk I finished my transaction, she then ignored the man behind me and continued her previous conversation... dreadful service ...two less customers here.

To give it one star is a bonus wouldn’t let me leave zero stars. I know it was Christmas Eve but it really wasn’t that busy but had to queue for nearly half an hour the only effective member of staff was young girl on till taking orders. My toastie was cold by the time our coffee came the young fella making coffee seemed to be new and he took ages and I know they need to learn but not on a busy Saturday my husbands bacon roll was so overcooked it was like a brick and cold couldn’t be bothered going up to complain as queue was nearly out the door by then. We sat in and wish we had of taken it out to car as the interior was totally filthy carpet needed a good hoover and the wooden floor was filthy your feet was sticking to it the seats had throws over them and they needed a wash whoever is managing this establishment should be dismissed I’m afraid I’ll not be back plenty of nicer coffee shops around who take cleanliness more seriously

After a long trek up Carnmoney Hill near by me & my friends decided that tis the season for Christmas beverages, so we decided that lunch at Costa for some hot drinks and a bite of lunch was the ticket. We all got different Christmas Beverages and although the Covid-19 restrictions did mean we spent a bit longer in the queue, we had a good lunch and enjoyed our Christmas flavoured hot drinks. After all it is Christmas!

Brilliant coffee, staff were all really friendly. All spaced out well for social distancing. Tables chairs and surrounding areas very clean.

It's can get busy, feel staff could be a bit friendlier, food lovely would need a clean tables can be a bit close together but good value for money.

Prime location within Abbeycentre complex with nice coffee. Needs a facelift tho as always grubby and looks dirty. Some of the staff are very unkempt. Appearances matter!!

good parking available but as i said earlier it can get a bit overcrowded at times and a wait is in store but all in not bad

Paid a quick stop while I was in shopping. Impressions were average as I saw tables with dirty dishes on them. Coffee was lovely. Used their toilets and was dissussed!! Went into the first one to find it dirty and uncared for. Left it to you the next one and it was exactly the same. Poor standards!

Customer service is shocking, especially Elaine on the till serious attitude problem when taking order. Hate coming to this shop but needs must when coffee is needed!

I’ve been to many Costa outlets and this one is by far the worst - I’m not sure it was because of the time of day (8.45am) or the general surliness of the staff, but a truly disappointing experience. My first request could not be met - no apology or explanation. I changed my order and was served like I’d rubbed excrement on the counter. No pleasantries just strange whispers between the staff - no idea why as I was fully dressed and in full control of my faculties. My day was not spoilt, but customer service costs nothing!! Please try to be nice as it can make a person’s day.

Great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. We love this place and would not go to any other coffee shop. Coffee and food is first class.

Very good coffee shop and a quality if small selection of eats. Staff are pleasant and efficient. We have found this to be better than most of the others in Abbeycentre. Great to see sandwiches available - instead of just wraps etc as in a lot of cafes nowadays.

I love Costa Coffee. Abbey Centre can show the others how to deliver a good customer experience. Coffee good as usual BUT the service was EXCELLENT the simple touch’s. A smile, a how’s everything. Just pleasant staff 10/10

AGES since I’ve been to a coffee chain, with good reason, I think… but in my defence, m’lud, I was in a hurry and needed a quick bite. So I had a ham and cheese panini, and medium Americano. Well, it SAID “Medium”, but it was the size of a small bucket. No problem there, except it was a bucket of hot water, with just a faint taste of coffee. I can't tell you if it was good or bad coffee – there was so little actual coffee in it, it was impossible to tell. Weakest I've had in a very long time, which reminded me why I don’t normally frequent such places. Hot water is much more profitable to sell than coffee, of course. On to that panini – equally poor. Two problems: (1) the ingredients were very poor quality – “cheese” which wouldn't have been out of place in a Big Mac, and equally yucky supermarket-budget-style “ham”; (2) it hadn’t got hot enough to melt the nasty processed cheese properly. It’ll be a long time before I visit one of these places again.

Called in with my daughter for a cuppa whilst out shopping. She had coffee and I had tea both very good. We also had muffins - good. The young man who served us was very courteous. However the music was too loud and the style of cup is not good for those with larger arthritic fingers. Nearly spilt it a few times. All in all the delft let it down.

Nice stop for a lovely cappuccino and cup cake. Service can be a little slow at times when they are very busy but coffee worth the wait.

Nice place to have a relaxing coffee between shopping in the abbeycentre prices reasonable plus bonus points on regular users ee price ice

Staff very courteous, helpful, chatty and polite Handy to nip in for a coffee for a break from shopping sites The decaf Americano was smooth As I relaxed before my next shopping move

Thought it was only one of that their latte tasted burnt. But I have found it to be all of them. Not nice

Paramos aquí para un descanso. La taza era grande, y la taza llena dos veces, así que no hay quejas sobre la bebida. Por desgracia, el ambiente es casi infernal. Estás serán acometidos por anuncios música ruidoso y bullicioso en el pasillo. No hay pared en los dos lados de este bar, una verja y el centro comercial, con arroyos de paso para los compradores. El bar se mantiene, mientras que el dim sum en una esquina más abierto del pasillo hay algo de luz natural a través de tragaluces enorme. El lugar es muy popular, había una cola. Nuestra mesa no habían barrido, así había migas crujientes bajo mi bandeja. Mesas de otras personas estaban demasiado cerca para mi gusto, y la nuestra estaba justo al lado de donde tienes la cucharas o paquetes de azúcar.

love to take a break from shopping here and sit and watch the world go by with a large latte. Café always quite busy and usually have to have a bit of patience and wait to be served but worth it

Llamamos aquí para una taza de café mientras compras en Abbeycentre. Hemos tenido previamente un almuerzo de aperitivos aquí y la comida ha sido bastante buena. Como siempre, el café de Costa Rica fue excelente, bien preparados y con un intenso sabor. Decidimos probar un muffin cada uno porque parecía bueno. La frambuesa y chocolate blanco magdalena tenía una deliciosa centro de frutas. El salado caramelo magdalena tenía un maravillosamente salados, centro de caramelo. Fueron lickingly buen dedo!!!!

I have seen nicer coffeeshops but in general I can't complain. The staff was also very friendly and the food / coffee meet the standard one is expecting from the brand. The ideal place to get your latte to go for walking around.

all food here is brought in ready prepared for convenience but I think the prices dont reflect the standard of the food

Staff seemed confused when I asked for a tea and an Americano Decaf."Tea with milk, Americano without milk."Asked three times but the two girl Baristas were too busy complaining about customers and talking to each other in general to get this simple order right.Had to return to counter and a 2 Litre jug of milk was plopped down in front of me by a young tall server when I had the audacity to complain to to him.Tea/Coffee/Food are all good but some staff members are lacking in manners and appear to have no of Customer Service.Pity.....

Always get a good cup of coffee in Costa, would be my first choice of venue when meeting friends for coffee in the Abbeycentre

Always excellent service.As my wife and I are regular visitors to the Abbey Centre our stop for Coffee is always Costa.The Staff are very friendly and have got to know what we generally order.The WiFi is excellent as well.

If there was an option worse than terrible I was choose it. Coffee was horrendous, got an iced americano and my partner got a caramel frap (or something like that). My americano had no taste whatsoever and my partners tasted like dirty dishwater. It was at peak time when we ordered our drinks therefore it was very busy so maybe standards slipped a bit...

Well it has a nice enough atmosphere, the food is pretty good if a bit expensive and the staff are fine but seem to change fairly often. There are no real complaints about anything but then again, nothing is outstanding.....

Every Saturday and more often during the school holidays, you will find me in Costa for the best Flat White around. Always busy but still always with a seat available, Costa is an essential part of my routine. Friendly staff, efficient service and occasionally a free newspaper, what more could you ask from your local Coffee sot?

Good service, nice wee spot to sit in.Often a queue which can be irritating but I guess is a sign of it's popularity.

Excellent cafe. The sandwiches are very good and the tea is very good. The staff are friendly and the cafe is clean. The prices are quite dear.

Says what it does on the tin as expected from the brand. Sitting area was large enough to get a table at lunch time although some of the tables could have done with clearing during the busy period.
